For those of you who didn't know, I've been forced to be absent from the internet ENTIRELY for a week, due to a burnt out modem. I'm back now.

Weeeellll, almost two weeks ago to the day, there was a violent thunder storm here. USUALLY this isn't a big deal, because somehow this family is blessed to be near immune to major disasters. Tornadoes have literally flown over our house without damaging it before. However, tragedy finally struck. Nothing major happened, but lightning must have struck the house. Why I think so is since that storm my XBox 360 won't power up AT ALL. System's fried basically. And it was a 250 GB one. With a game trapped inside it, although I got the game cheap from a Game Trader, so I'm not so bummed over possibly losing the game as I am the fact it's $300+ dollars (Including tax) to replace the system. And it was recommended to REPLACE it on grounds there's no telling HOW much damage has been inflicted to the system.

It happened to be my favorite game system for the most part, as it's the one I own the most games for. Yes, I'm glad nothing else has been damaged (apparently), but it took the most expensive game system it could. Well, possibly excluding the computer, I got it as a gift and so have no idea how much it's worth.

I do have other things I can do while saving up the money for the system, so that's not a problem per say.

That's about all the news I have.

Well, I won't say I told you so, but I will say that the guy who predicted the Rapture on May 21 has made millions off of their prediction, while many people have done foolish things like sell their worldly possessions, spend all their money, and other unfortunate things.

That doesn't seem fair, does it? It's not. Luckily no one I know personally, and people who I know only as online friends, aren't among the victims of this scam. Yeah, I said scam. Doesn't matter if the "prophet" intended it that way or not, he still got rich off of it, and people suffered because of it.

There is one person who I KNEW, who might've been hit by the scam, but I can't contact them to check. They've blocked any and all methods of conversation.

That person cited "religious reasons" for breaking off contact, but in the end, if you cut off contact with others, you suffer alone. Such is his fate. Oh well. I will not say they deserved it, because they didn't if they got scammed. No one did.

In other news, I have Mortal Kombat for the XBOX 360, Yu-Gi-Oh 2011 Edition for the Nintendo DS, and Borderlands for the PC on the mind lately. And no, I can't play any of you due to a crappy Satellite ISP. So don't ask me to. And yes, I do have a PS3, and no, I was not affected by the account hacking since I never had an online account for it.

Well, since everyone else seems to be doing Journals on Macho Man Randy Savage, I thought I'd cover a different news article.

As many of you may be aware, it is alleged that The Rapture, the (Christian only?) event where many people will vanish from the earth to go to heaven while the rest of us rot here to suffer. Try to put it nicely as you please, that's the gist of it. Good people get taken to heaven, everyone else is stuck on Earth as it goes downhill.

Now, I am Catholic (which does conflict with my possible bisexuality, probably my scaly-hood, and definitely my fat furdom), and I do not believe in The Rapture, despite capitalizing it. There are several reasons why I don't, some to do with my religion, some to do with logic.

Number 1 is that Catholics are taught a certain prayer that goes "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, amen." While I admit I'm not the most devout Catholic (As my shennanigans in role play and taste in mature video games accounts to), I do still believe in God. Despite my crisis of faith, where I don't know WHICH God or Gods are the true ones, if any of the mainstream ones even are. And I do still believe in that prayer.

Number 2 brings up the fact that we don't know WHICH religion is right or wrong. While I'm partial to Omniquantism (I'm a fan of the Webcomic Freefall), the fact does stand that The Rapture is just one religion out of many that could be true. Ergo, the actual odds for it happening are relatively low. Doesn't mean it won't happen, and if it does, I'll look pretty stupid, but frankly, my money is on it not happening.

Number 3 is the simple logic that God, if he is all loving, would not permit those of us who didn't convert before a set date to suffer for no good reason. True, there are deplorable sinners, but there are also good people who happen not to be Christian.

Number 4 is the logic that God, being all-knowing, wouldn't be prone to such an illogical action, on grounds that there may be Christian people doing important work for the good of humanity, or otherwise be occupied in some sense that their absence endangers others, such as flying a plane. You can cite the myth that Airlines do not permit both pilots to be Christian, but this is simply not true. Not to mention doctors, police officers, and others. Ask yourself if God would REALLY take these people when they are still needed?

Number 5 relates to 4, in that God should also know that he would be condemning those left on Earth to damnation unfairly, particularly newborns, decent people who just happen not to be Christian, and the doubters like me. Is this the act of an all-loving God? Should these people be condemned simply for having sin on the soul they have not yet been absolved of if it is minor or original sin?

Number 6 is the fact that it is human beings who are giving the date of the occurance, not God. God isn't making the announcement himself, so how do we know that he will do this tomorrow? Or any given day? This one isn't denying The Rapture, just human ability to discern when or if it'll happen.

Number 7 is the fact I have Heroclix Tournaments on Saturdays, and I will be really upset if The Rapture were to disrupt them. Or in other words, I simply don't want to believe it'll happen. This reason can be skipped.

Number 8 is the evidence that the world will continue on for a long time to come. The Sun isn't going out for over a billion years, we're not stupid enough to issue nuclear armageddon, and even if Earth were in danger, we're well on our way to colonizing other planets.

Number 9 isn't a reason against The Rapture so much as it is against those of you who will immediately decry me as some sort of evil trying to sway people, or otherwise accost me by asking questions such as "How do you know how God will act?". The same logic that tells most people there is a God (Which is the Chain of Dominoes theory), tells me that if he is as all knowing as he is claimed to be, he would know that such an event would not be all-loving. Families would be divided, friends would be taken from friends, and those who were on their way to converting but not there yet would be instantly damned because anyone trying to practice Christianity after The Rapture would be doing it to save themselves.

If you are one of those religious zealots who would request my journal be bannated or flame me, go right ahead. I'm just giving my opinion, and am also curious to see who will respond.

As for my opinion on God, well, that's another story.

I've just come out of two days in a hospital for a glucose overload. It's official, I have diabetes, type 1. A Trypanophobe's (Fear of needles and syringes) nightmare. This is despite both parents being "clean" of it. Damnit all.

Incidentally, due to being sick, missed a trip to visit family in another state. A big gathering of family was arranged to take place today, but I'm stuck at home. And have to have the actual celebration of the holiday (Read - presents) a day late.

Meantime, college turned out to be much less harsh than I expected, and I'm through first semester. Few-to-no notes taken in any of the classes, but I still got no less than a B for the courses. Then again, attending college seems to have perked my head into some very unusual talents I didn't have, such as a massive boost to my skill with drawing, as well as memory.

So will I be putting hand-drawn art up? ....eh, if I get a quality scanner or a tablet, maybe. Meantime, take your Paint made goodness.

Good in that it's handy for learning stuff relevant to pleasing occupations and getting paid decently at it, bad in it's like school all over again, and nowadays it's practically required for everything..

And I'm being strong armed into it by an insurance policy's fine print in order to keep the dang thing, but THAT is another paradox for another time. Hopefully, never..

So I'll be busy with college. Not like I wasn't busy before, mind you...but....aw heck with it, it stinks, but I've got no choice in going.

Bright side, hopefully, I can manage an Art Major, and (also hopefully) improve my art ability, both on Paint, and with luck, fix the problems I have on paper.

But like heck I'll be suckered into a fraternity. Unless I'm going to give them a taste of their own medicine armed with a paintball gun or something, but I tend not to live out my impulsive desires. That's what I leave up to my RP self. Heh...

Ah, Fur Affinity, a page to cater to the scaley within. Hello all!

Been a lurker here for....ever it seems like. Only now stepped up to having an account, although until my hands decide to finally work well enough to match how I envision art I want to make in my mind, I'm stuck with half-baked pixel art as my medium. Although I've heard my friends hail me as great with that, but in my eyes, that's only when I trace off of art in Paint. Not something to brag about.

This isn't the only place I have an art account at, but it's the only one with a focus on the fur/scale side of me, largely due to having friends who aren't into furries, and I haven't yet found a way to tell them I am without being heavy-handed about it. I'd rather go slowly about it and not risk scaring them off. They're good folks, but I'm a bit afraid they may not take it as well as I hope.

Speaking of heavy-handed, my interests mostly lie in fat furs, with a side order of inflation (Though I prefer the former in regards to myself). However, I can do normal furdom, and typically do so more often than the rest. Mostly, due to only having regular IM chatting with those non-fur friends. I did say I was a lurker in furdom until recently.

Yes, I am a guy, and intend to remain one. No swapping roles for me in RP. It's happened, but I'm no fan of it. Doesn't mean I can't use OTHER characters to fill a gender role, but for myself, keep the surgery, magic, and potions at bay please.

I do not know my preferences in gender for a mate, so don't ask. I've been trying to figure THIS one out for years with no luck, though I'm fairly okay with RPing either. That is largely due to not connecting my RP actions and events to either my IRL self, or to other RPs.

No, I'm not currently looking for a mate. I'd rather figure out what I'm looking for first. Friends are another story. So sorry to those who like me on that level, I'm remaining single for now.

Don't expect a lot of art from me, I'm notorious for not consistently working on art, and I'm not that great with human forms as it is, let alone furry/scaley ones. I have maybe....a couple art pieces with someone not human in it, and I'm not that proud of the quality.
