March 26th meet (fursuit walk)
Posted 9 years agoAlright everyone! We have this month's meet planned! It's the first fursuit walk of the year so that means bring your fursuits, tail, whatever! Just remember to keep it family friendly since we're out in public. The plan is to have a group dinner afterwards (that is TBD and you must pay for your own meal). Hope to see you all there, help spread the word!

Meets are representing all of us and the fandom. Please be courteous.*Save PDA (personal display of affection) for home. It makes other uncomfortable.
*Alcohol is onsite, bowling or restaurant. It's 21 to drink. No sharing with minors.
*Smoke in designated locations only and respect others' personal space.
*No Drama. Meets are to have fun. You don't bring up your business; I won’t get in your business
*Fursuits are accepted at the bowling alley and normally have a changing room (we call ahead of
time)
Failure to follow these rules at meets reflects badly upon our group, and may get us banned from having meets at places. Thus, don't be surprised if you are asked to leave the meet or even banned from future ones. ~

Official Fort Wayne Furs picnic / cookout will be this weekend, 7/25 (Saturday) from 4-8pm at Fox Island in Fort Wayne! Bring fursuits, any food you'd like to share, drinks (non-alcoholic), and come chill!
The park is a little flooded from all the rain, but still open. It costs $2 a person to get in.
If you're going to suit, the trail to where the cookout will be is a little flooded, so don't put on those feet paws until you get to the meet!
I'll provide exact directions to where we all will be set up on Saturday. Most likely it will be an overhang area past the parking area (left when you get into the park and go straight).
Please comment here if you can make it and tell me what you will bring!

Under new leadership
Posted 10 years agoHey guys! Alex here, letting everyone know I wont be leading the FW Furs group anymore. As many of you have probably heard, I am moving to Maryland for work, so Daze the snow leopard will be taking over the page. Take care guys!
Updates
Posted 10 years agoAlex Frostpaw here letting everyone know I will be maintaining the FA page myself from now on, any journal requests or questions can be noted or posted here, and I will be logging into this account more often. I will be planning out new meets starting this spring and will call around to places to see where we can fursuit or have our events. Will most likely be downtown, and will also include more hangouts around town too. :3
I will also be writing out a list of rules and behaviors expected at such meets and hangouts, most of it being common sense but we do have many younger furs in the group under 21 and fort wayne isn't as new to furries as they once were, most of what ive seen they know is mainly negative stuff, lets not further that negative view! Lets change it for the better!

Board Gaming Meet!
Posted 11 years agoI'm planning a meet at IPFW in the Student Union on Friday evening. We can grab dinner somewhere or everyone can do their own thing and meet up afterwards, but basically it'll be a game night.
I've got the One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Ultimate Werewolf, Forbidden Island, Ticket to Ride, Dominion and most of its expansions, Love Letter, Say Anything, and there's a large wardrobe full of all sorts of random classic and miscellaneous family and party games I can borrow from, and of course everyone is welcome to bring their own games.
I plan to be there at 6 and stick around until midnight with a variety of games for up to 10 players. Anything over that and we're definitely either playing werewolf or a couple games at once.
I'll give the location of the Walb Student Union on the IPFW campus in a link to Google Maps at the bottom of this journal, because Parking Garage 2 is right next to it. Just park in there and find your way into the Union and then up onto the enclosed bridge between the Union and the Library, and I'll be in one of the large-ish study areas that's subdivided into. If you come late and for whatever reason the doors are locked or you need more specific directions to find me, just post a comment here or text me at 260-402-6795.
If anyone is interested in this, but has further questions or concerns just let me know. I'm kinda just going to see how this goes the first time, but I'd like to make it a regular thing, hosted either where the first meet will be, or at the downtown branch of the Allen County Public Library. -phantomlion10
