Return of the Raven
Posted 10 years agoI'm back in Williston, North Dakota. Was a 23 hour drive straight through driving from the high desert in socal. There was three of us so we shifted between for driving. Anyways, got back, unloaded, and got to working out what I could on the car.
so the starter was still frozen, and hood wouldn't release. So i slap slammed the hood near the latch to knock it loose. It worked and got it open (Yay). Checked everything, will have to replace the battery blanket as it trips the GIF on the outlets. Tried to jump it, no luck. So I moved the car by hand and got it on a slight incline and pushed it so I could pop the clutch (its a manual) And after the second try(with more speed) it fired right up. I let it idle for about an hour as I unpacked, showered, and checked things online. Went and took the car for a drive, and while driving, I would put it into neutral and turn off the car while coasting, that way i can pop the clutch again if need be, cause I wanted to see if the starter would work. Turned the key, the starter cranked and fired right up. Did this 3 more times just to be sure and was happy with the results. So with that said and done, did some small errands, like get my little air compressor to fix the cig plug end, and got some snow chains for my work boots and shoes, along with some winter work gloves. Still going to need to replace the pull handle for the hood, but I have some pliers to help for now when need be. In anycase, it was nice to be home and spend time with my cat and see some friends.

Saw The Force Awakens finally. (no spoilers)
Posted 10 years agoIt was great. It felt like watching the originals but with continuation. Lots of great moments, some sad, plenty of awesome, and the light saber fight was like it should be and not that crap from the prequels. The power struck me with the opening, and it was an awesome ride through the whole film. I look forward to the next installment.

Made the stupid mistake of washing my car.
Posted 10 years agoNow everything is frozen. First off, I had locked my keys in the car yesterday and didn't realize till this morning. I have a spare in my wallet so that wasn't a problem. However, doors were frozen. So after spending several minutes, I finally got into the car. I had it plugged in over night, but that didn't help. Tried to start, wont turn over. not even a clack. Just great, engine and starter and god knows what else is frozen. Start up my dad's work truck so i can try jumping my car. Pull the hood release handle, that decides to break. The hood latch is frozen and I can't open the hood now.
So yeah, going to have to wait till the car thaws its self, which may or may not happen till we get back from holiday break, or till spring.
fuck my life.

The swan song has been sung. Another bird passes on.
Posted 10 years agoSome may have heard or read, while others have not, that
Faithry has passed away recently on the 8th of November. Word from the birds is that a brain hemorrhage is the cause. Faithry was 34. Though I did not know or interact in anyway with them, I have been following their posted art for as long as I can remember, first back on VCL, and now here. Perhaps for a decade now. In any-case, It is sad to see someone as well known to pass on and no longer be part of our lives.
Their swan song has been sung. May they find rest and forever flight of freedom.
[EDIT] Omegaltd posted on their ink bunny account the passing, found here: https://inkbunny.net/journalview.php?id=207296
I received an email from Faithry's father informing me he passed away from a brain hemorrhage on the 8th November, age 34. This is why we have not heard from him since then.

France got hit, life goes on.
Posted 10 years agoI direct your attention to Jolly Jack's political cartoon on DA: http://jollyjack.deviantart.com/art.....tion-572119364
I saw the news, I read the reports, I saw the videos and pictures. What happened in Paris and the surrounding area is tragic, illogical, disturbing, and horrifying. However, life goes on, the French will survive, and the French government will do what they feel they need to do, be it good or bad for their people. On an individual basis, my heart and condolences goes out to those affected by these events. No one should ever have to experience what happened to them, in any country in the world, no matter what your race, religion, or nationality is. We are all humans, we are all part of the human race, and we all live on this world. Why so many still wish to be like this, I may never fully understand. Perhaps because I was fortunate enough to have been born and raised in the U.S., that I can't understand the mentality behind these terrorist and their actions. All I can see is medieval/ dark age mentality with access to 21'st century weaponry.
For me personally, it has been an odd coincidence that these attacks should happen while I have been playing Assassin's creed: Unity heavily. Though I know it is silly and only fantasy, I can't help but think that the attacks were part of some Templar plot for political control in France. Doesn't help either that I recently saw Specter, the new Bond film, where the group Specter uses terrorist attacks to influence political leader's to go along with a global surveillance system. SO I have been running through Revolution Paris during The Terror, seeing shadow organizations causing chaos to make people want more control, and I watched a movie where the same thing is happening but in modern times. Yeah, I can see how conspiracy theorist get started.

Yes, we birds are evil. Here is proof.
Posted 10 years agoOther than the obvious reasons of raiding the house for food, pooping on clean expensive cars, having a horror movie about us and other plans to over throw humanity, birds also have the evil villainous laugh/cackle down pat, as you can see from the video below.
Got slammed into a lowered tail gate friday.
Posted 10 years agoWas at work, walking on an equipment trailer around some equipment, stepped and stood on the loading ramp that was folded up, ramp lifted and threw me backwards into the tail gate of a work truck. My mid right side back slammed hard. I was fine and feeling sore a little and had full movement till Wednesday night when I was in my car, having parked it at the apartment and reaching over to the passenger side mirror when I felt a pop and immediately had extreme pain. It took a moment to get out of my car, then I couldn't really move, called my dad, was able to move a bit and got up the stairs (3rd floor). Dad comes in and helps me get my sweater hoodie off. Still hard to move. we head to the ER (its about 7:00 pm then), get checked in and seen. Had xrays done, got two shots in the butt, one anti inflamatory, the other muscle relaxer. Hard to angle my self for sitting and laying down during all of this. Xrays say no fractures (Thank the gods) but yeah, have some deep tissue muscle contusion, and most likely I stretched out the muscle real good and caused the pop which may have been tearing muscle.
Coughing and laughing hurts like hell, quick deep breaths hurt a bit, bending or moving in anyway that uses that muscle area causes fuck ton of pain. The relaxer healed a little, then I had a hard cough and just pain and more pain with the muscle spazzing out bad and clenching up tight. It took about a minute to release. Got some Rx relaxer and anti inflam. I'm hoping this will be more tolerable in the morning. I still have to work.
Oh, my dad is also my supervisor/ manager, and I'm his top field foremen. But not because I'm his kid, but because I know my shit, do a good job, and come fix things others mess up or can't figure out. Also i repair and maintain our equipment.

Which should I play next? AC: Unity or Mad max?
Posted 10 years agoSo I finished Wolfenstein Old blood finally, and now I need to figure which game I should work on next, Assassin's creed Unity, or Mad Max. I have both installed, and haven't started either, so really, not sure what to expect as far as involvement and immersion. I of course have Planetside 2 to derp around in, and I haven't touched my legacy of kane games since re-finishing soul reaver 1 last year. And then there is the batman arkam games I got all for $10 a while back. erf, so many games in que to play!
Anyways, Suggestions are always welcomed.

On this Columbus day, let Corporate Avenger remind you.
Posted 10 years agoEven in the initial stages of contact between European Christians and
Native Indian people the stage was set for ethnocentrism, and the
attitude towards the Indians was that of Christian superiority. The
Indians were read a proclamation in Spanish which they had no hope of
understanding, they had no hope of understanding the death sentence they
were being read, and it went something like this:
"We ask and require you to acknowledge the church as the ruler and
superior of the whole world and the high priest called pope and in his
name the king of Spain as lords of this land. If you submit we shall
receive you in all love and charity and shall leave you, your wives and
children and your lands free without servitude, but if you do not submit
we shall powerfully enter into your country and shall make war against
you, we shall take you and your wives and your children and shall make
slaves of them and we shall take away your goods and shall do you all
the harm and damage we can."
2000 years ago we were all tribal.
Then came the missionaries with their fucking bible.
1492 began the termination
The holocaust of our Indian nations
Yeah, with Christian love and a moral authority
They killed our medicine men and stole our country
I never claimed this shit was poetry
It's just the fucking lies of Christianity
You will pray to the lord and get down on your knees
Here's a cross for your back and the coughing disease
Though you helped us survive we will laugh while you bleed
Then deny what we did, write our own history
We will kidnap your children and cut off their hair
Silence their language and outlaw their prayers
Beat them blind until they believe
In the blood of Jesus Christ our king
Christians murdered Indians
Columbus murdered children and now we have a holiday
Still you want to deny your history
Look to the sky for your god to justify
As you commit cultural genocide
Christians came and the natives they did hang
13 at a time for Jesus and his gang
We are the ones you had to dehumanize
So your murder and greed could be justified
The belly of the church is full
With the blood of all those heathen fools
Who would not receive the gift of Christ?
So we burned them as a sacrifice
To our baby killing god above
To our mother church and all her love
We will steal their gods and subjugate
Those who don't believe we'll ahnilate
"The Spaniards made bets as to who would slit a man in two or cut of
his head with one blow. They tore babies from their mother's breast by
their feet and dashed their head against the rocks. They hanged Indians
by thirteen in honor and reverence for their redeemer and their twelve
apostles. They put wood underneath and with fire burned the Indians
alive."
Christians murdered Indians
We believe in the earth, the sky and dreams
The universe and the creator who gave us these
The sacred gift of life and human beings
That makes you perpetrate the hate to ahnilate
So here I am the savage civilized
Voice of the dead and my ancestor's cries
And like the ghosts of this land you can't erase
I see blood on the hands of the master race.
500 years of manifest destiny
500 years of resistance to the enemy
You have faith in the rivers, the mountains, the trees
We've a murdering god to replace all of these
With the blood of forgiveness you too can be free
Or the wrath of Jehovah you're sure to receive
We will baptize you with the blood of the lamb
With the sword and the gospel we will conquer your land
You will join our church and be glad to be saved
Or we'll slaughter your children and your women we'll rape.
Christians murdered Indians
I see blood on the hands of the master race.
I have no interest or liking of Steven Universe.
Posted 10 years agoSo there is this show called Steven Universe. I've seen a little bit of it. I've seen plenty of still shots, .gif's, and fan art that crosses my path on FA and DA. I have found SU to be intolerable for me. The animation is bland and generic. The character designs unappealing, the coloring to be more dull and toned down, character personalities confusing or uninteresting, and not sure what to make of the story line.
Now, I watch and highly enjoy MLP:FiM, and I do enjoy Adventure time and Regular show, though I don't watch the latter two as much as I do or MLP. I enjoy those shows because they feel engaging, colorful, fulled with personalities and individualism, lots of humor, and good lessons on-top of a growing story line. And as for gravity falls, I can not comment as I have never seen any episodes and don't know much about it, same with Korra.
Now, one thing I have noticed heavily is the infatuation with SU that a lot of the SJW's and feminazis and other like minded on tumbler have with the show. Maybe because i have more substance to my self, and prefer to be around others and entertained by media that contains substance, that I find SU, and the tumbler-tards to be so... shallow, empty, void? The term faberge egg comes to mind. Covered with shinnies and sparkling things and gold and such, but empty and devoid of any substance on the inside.
As a child, my mother would take eggs and poke a small hole on both ends, blow out all the yoke and white from the inside, and we would paint and glue on fake gem stones and such to make our own faberge egg's. All for decorations and something fun to do as a kid. And because of that, I can't help but think of that as I analyze and try to understand shows like SU and the crazed lunatics on tumbler that praise it like it is the all mighty Allah.
Perhaps I will never fully understand SU and the fanbase around it, but I do understand the tumbler-tards. And if they are any indication of something mindlessly wrong with society and so void of substance, then their obsession with SU shows what kind of show it is.

Posted 10 years agoFallout Shelter Fun
Posted 10 years agoSince Fallout Shelter came out for Android OS and I got my self the samsung galaxy tab 4 and s6, I have been enjoying playing the game for the last couple of weeks. I also have been successful in being able to get by without paying a single penny for things in the game. None the less, I have been looking for a save editor for a while and finally found one that is free, easy to get, and isn't some scamware thing that sends you to survey and buy our crap sites to unlock. Here is the site. http://raxdiam.com/fosse/
So thanks to this, I'm able to enjoy my game much more. However, this has now presented me with a new opportunity to have a bit more fun with the game. I took a save from the tablet (because sadly the saves don't share across devices) and changed the vault number to 108 and every person's name to Gary with a corresponding sequential number for their last name.
Yes, I have turned my shelter into the Gary clone vault hehehe.
Thanks to the editor, I can go in and change the names and stats for everyone at anytime and keep the vault Gary pure. Silly as it is, it is still fun for me.
For info on "Gary", Gary over here and click the Gary to Gary while you gary. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gary_%28clone%29

Why I use to play TF2 and now have no desire to.
Posted 10 years agoBack in the beginning, there was the Orange Box. Everyone that is a true gamer knows what was in it and how awesome a deal it was, plus what it brought to the world. I was one of the many that bought it for the PC and even for the 360, though it wasn't that great on the 360 in the end. None the less, there was a little gem in it called Team Fortress 2. It was fun, fast, and a great PVP FPS game that filled the void at the time for many out there. Fast forward to when it started to go into the free to play market and just before the micro transactions came into the play. I loved it. I had a blast! I would try to get the achievements unlocked because that meant different weapons and items to use. But then it started to change too much. New achievements, new tiers of what-have you to reach to unlock or get items, then they made it where things were randomly dropped, but never know what or when and usually was crap. Then hat simulator and crates and keys came about. Then the masses of free to play and micro-transactions flooded the game. And with all that, TF2 turned into an extreme fast pace shoot and die in a blink of an eye game that seems to mimic quake arena and unreal tournament. No real strategy, all catering to cosmetic crazed twitch minded crack head MLG gamers. There was some hope, the Mann vs Machine update came out and it reignited my interest, but that too soon faded. Sadly, all that I enjoy out of TF2 anymore is the SFM's that people make and the MLP SFM's that people put out there.
I honestly don't have the ability to keep pace with the speed and skills of the people that play TF2 anymore, and I certainly don't have the items and weapons and other crazy additions everyone else has in their inventory that are far better, more powerful, faster, and of course prettier than the default starter items. It does sadden me. I can't compete, it frustrates me, and makes me not want to play even more when dominated and decimated, and the game constantly reminds you of it. Yes, I am a "casual" gamer, but only because I have a real life, real job, real responsibilities, and not that much time anymore to dedicate towards gaming. I also want to enjoy my games. I want to have fun. I don't like the feeling of frustration, bashing my head against a brick wall and getting no where for hours on end, having no idea how to get something done, having to have insane combo button skills to even get an inch past something (Ninja Gaiden), or to have to be as fast as a meth head snorting fat lines of crack playing FPS 20 hours a day and being super perfect at all things or have to be born Asian (Natural +20 to everything).
This is why I enjoy campaign modes, co-op, and even massive team vs team where I can play more of a support role but still able to front line at times. This is why I play Planetside 2 and enjoy it. This is why I love single player mode and/or games that are single player. I love the Halo series because of the rich story and universe it is in and what it brings, not because of the Multiplayer Vs. Mode that it also has.
When I play a game, I want to have fun. I want a challenge that though is difficult, is still fun and rewarding and makes me feel like I achieved something. I like having some puzzle stuff to figure out, I like having to think and figure some things out that doesn't rush you or be impossible to do without being an MLG crack head. I like playing a game that has a rick telling story to it. I like being able to immerse my self into the world and feel like I am a part of it. I like being able to care about the characters and what happens to them and the role I play in their lives. It is this reason why games like Skyrim, Morrowind, Fallout 3, NV, and soon 4 are my fav games. Why i love the Wolfenstein games, Enjoy the hell out of the Assassin's creed series and the Halo series. And why I love classic arcade gaming and Just love the hell out of pinball games. I'm not trying to be some MLG twitch gamer. I'm not trying to be the very best in the world. I couldn't care about leader boards and K/D ratings for comparison (If I can have a K/D of 1 or higher in PS2, then I'm all happy.)
In anycase, I do miss the fun I had with TF2, but I'm not going to try to get back into it with what it has become.

In anycase, I do miss the fun I had with TF2, but I'm not going to try to get back into it with what it has become.
