Assets and Resources
General | Posted 2 days agoThis is a list of resources I use in multiple drawings - assets that wouldn't make sense to credit per-piece, but that I do want to have links to so other artists can use them if they want to, and so the creators get proper credit <3
I'll expand this list out as I remember other assets that I use and as I get around to releasing asset packs that I've made myself <3
Resources
★ Lavi
My primary comic font when I'm not using my own handwriting. I like that Lavi has a casual feel while still remaining very readable in both lowercase and uppercase. Free for commercial use.
★ Paper texture (current)
I've been switching more of my templates over to use a seamless paper texture from the official Krita channel. They're much smaller and easier to work with than my previous textures, but require a bit more setup to get a good result, including using multiple layers, blend modes, and some gradient fill backgrounds. Once everything is set up though, I think this is a lot more flexible and a lot less cumbersome to work with.
★ Paper texture (previous)
These are the paper textures you'll see in most of my sketch drawings. They're good quality, but non-repeating which means they need to be scaled with images or have the borders masked. Additionally because they're actual photographs, they're MASSIVE and can come with some performance problems because of that including increased export times. I use these now when I need a paper texture to be very accurate. Theses are pretty much drag and drop, just throw it over your picture and set it to multiply.
★ Built-in Krita brushes
I use a variety of default bundled brushes within Krita, a few of which I've customized and rebuilt myself from the ground up to accommodate my art style. In general, I haven't incorporated any 3rd-party brushes into my workflow yet.

Cupcake interactions :3
General | Posted 3 days agoYou can now suggest stream interaction replies for Cupcake at https://tally.so/r/68L5kB <3
These are pretty informal. There's no guarantee I'll use what you suggest or that I won't edit it or rework it in a different way than you might have suspected.
Cupcake doesn't use any kind of AI nonsense, every response/interaction/behavior is written/coded by a fox with pawbs that produce many typing errors when trying to use the keyboard >w<

Beta Commissioner Queue
General | Posted a week ago*pokes head out of a push* OwO
I've set up an early commissioner queue at https://foxyoreos.netlify.app/schedule/ to make it easier to track which commissions I'm working on. I'm hoping to expand this a bit in the future, including maybe adding a basic stream schedule.
I've had some critters ask me about how to tell if I'm open for commissions - the answer is I'm always open for them! X3 Even if my queue is full I can go over ideas, estimate prices, and schedule things <3
I don't have a set period at the start or during a month where you have to catch me - I work through my commission queue and schedule new commissions at the same time. That means if you want a commission but need to hold off for a few weeks or a month, that's totally fine <3
But it also means that if you want a commission and you're holding off to ask about it until my queue is empty.. you're gonna be waiting a long time X3 I do my absolute best to make sure that the queue is never empty ;3

Happy Thanksgiving!
General | Posted 2 weeks agoHappy Thanksgiving by the way! Sorry that I didn't really do anything particularly special for this one, but there's a lot of stuff I'm working on :3c
I know that Thanksgiving may have some weird vibes for you this year. I want to say, whatever 2027 has in store, whether good or bad - and no matter what comes our way - I am grateful to face it alongside all of you <3
I don't say it often enough, but I mean this very literally: not a single day goes by that I am not thankful for the community of furries, artists, writers, and just all around wonderful beans that I am surrounded by. You are a blessing.
And as I look forward at 2027, at the challenges our community might grapple with; I can't think of any better community to be a part of grappling with them.

Upcoming Stream Schedule (Fri/Sat/Sun)
General | Posted a month agoGot a busy set of streams coming up, so I wanted to give an early heads up of the schedules! I'm still thinking through how I want to handle stream schedules, since I very often don't plan streams in advance and decide what to work on during the stream >w<
But in cases where I do know what I'll be working on, it may be nice to get a heads up <3
I stream on both Piczel (https://piczel.tv/watch/foxyoreos) and Picarto (https://picarto.tv/foxyoreos). Chat is bridged between both services, so you can chat no matter which one you use. And I allow anonymous visitors in the Piczel chat even without making an account! UwU
★★★
Friday (11/07 at 8pm Eastern Time): Dimalad, Discord/Fluttershy vore. Will be mostly nonfatal/willing vore, but will definitely contain post-vore disposal. >w<
Saturday (11/08 early-ish stream): Updating Cupcake, chores. Not a cozy stream, but nothing too extreme and no disposal.
Saturday (11/08 at 8pm Eastern Time): Flythewind, Dragon Ferry. We'll be trying to finish up page #2, and pawsibly sketching some of the slots for the disposal section :3c
Sunday (11/09 at 8pm Eastern Time): Flintzel/Jacob, Pokemon vore. Normal content warnings for disposal/graphic digestion/fatal vore might apply :3
Monday (undecided :3)

Time for walkies! (and go vote :3)
General | Posted a month agoDo you live in the US? Do you know what time it is?~ It's time for walkies to the polling place!!
Awawaawaarawaarawf!!!! :3 (runs in a circle until I fall down)
It's such a nice day, I'm gonna pee on a bush :3 Hell, I'm gonna pee on two bushes :3c
You need to go get my leash and take me on walkies to a polling location so we can vote and fight back against threats to democracy and human rights and pornography, and sometimes multiple of those things at the same time!!! *bark bark bark*
We're gonna vote so fucking hard~ God, just think about it~ Get that fucking leash on me.
Fair warning, I might bite somepony on the way to the polling location >:3 It's okay, they don't mind~ Biting is an acceptable response to being excited.
Which leash should we use? Should we use the green one? We should use the pink one!!! I fucking love the pink one. The green one is trash. The green one is the one I wear when I go to the vet >w< Fuck that one. I'm gonna go find a green bush and pee on it UwU That'll teach the color green.
After we vote, we should get on https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative and call our other representatives who do a bad job that weren't on the ballot, and whisper to them really seductively, "hey~ I voted today."
"Do you want to know what I was thinking about while I voted? I was thinking about how you're gonna get primaried. I was fantasizing about primarying you the entire time I voted. I filled in the little bubble and I imagined I was filling it in for the progressive that's gonna take your seat. It's gonna be sooo good~ You're gonna get primaried so hard. There's nowhere you can hide, there's nothing you can do... it's like a clock, hanging over you. You're gonna be out of office~
This is our party now, you fucking loser."
Wow that got kinda dark, didn't it!?! ...NEAT! <3
We should stop by the ice cream place on the way back from voting so I can get a pup cup :3c The cashier there really likes me, even though I do bite them sometimes. But that's not my fault, I just get really excited about pup cups. And voting. <3
The polls close at 8pm on Tuesday, and some states offer same-day voter registration! You wanna be a good puppy, right? Come vote with me!!! <3

Fight art censorship, get free doodles <3
General | Posted 4 months agoPsst~ want some free YCH doodles?
It's vore month, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to get payment processors to stop censoring vore art <3
If you've been following the news about Steam and Itch delisting or removing adult games, you'll know that payment processors have been coming down hard on NSFW games, books, and art.
Of course, this is nothing new. It's been getting harder and harder as a NSFW artist to find ways to monetize artwork. The number of platforms we can use to exchange payments for commissions is dwindling fast. Sites like Patreon already have a testy relationship with vore artwork. Itch.io was one of the very few platforms left I was looking at as a way to sell artwork or stories, or to even fund larger pieces.
It feels like every other week I log onto socials and see a new site that's kicking us off. But this time has been different. This time, there's a coordinated campaign from gamers, NSFW artists and sex workers, queer activists, and free-speech advocates to get Mastercard, Visa, Paypal, and Stripe to reverse their restrictions. And the results so far have been extremely promising <3
I want to try and help. So during vore month I'll be offering semi-regular YCH doodles on both Mastodon (https://gulp.cafe/@foxyoreos/114960442722029409) and Bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/foxyoreos.bsky.social/post/3lvgpyqgxzs2c). These are pre-made quick pieces, but masked out so that your characters can be drawn into them. And they're free! All you have to do to get one is to make a phone call or to mail a physical letter :3
You can find details about the current campaign at https://stop-paypros.neocities.org/ <3
If you send me a screenshot of a call log from you phoning one of the companies on this list, or you send me a picture of a physical, addressed piece of mail you're sending out to one of them (please redact any of your own personal information that's visible on either of them), along with a link to a refsheet or picture of your character, I'll draw them into whatever the currently active doodle is. <3
And once I put up a new doodle, if you want to grab that one too, all you need to do is send me another picture dated after I put up that doodle :3 Like I said, I plan to be doing this allll through August <3 (assuming that payment processors don't crack before then X3)
Importantly, these doodles are timed releases. Only one is active at a time, and when I put up a new doodle, that's it, if you missed the previous one - too bad. >:3
I want to encourage you to phone or write to payment processors regularly, and not to put it off - so if you see a doodle that you like, you'll probably have less than 24 hours to grab it, so find a free moment during your day to make a call!
❤❤❤
I make my living full time as an artist. It's a difficult but fantastic job, and I love what I do. But I'm also worried about what will happen in the future - what will happen when enough platforms close that I literally just can't do this full-time, because there is no way for me to monetize it. There are probably half-a-dozen really fun projects I have wanted to do over the past 6 months that I shelved because I couldn't figure out the platforms. Anything involving small commissions like 5-10 minute doodles got shelved. Stream incentives also got shelved. Figuring out how to do community YCHs has been a nightmare. And with Itch closing down, there are larger writing projects and longer comics that I might not do, because Itch was the platform where I was going to sell them.
Even if you're not an artist, and even if you're not a commissioner, this stuff affects you. All of the public art that I release is subsidized by commissioners and supporters, they are the reason why I'm able to release as much art as I do. The time I spend trying to jump through hoops just so that a supporter can use a credit card to pay me, is time that I don't spend drawing, interacting with the community, or planning new projects.
But if enough people/critters complain, publicly enough and loud enough, for long enough - that could change. And with the current momentum that the backlash to Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, and Stripe's censorship - it is possible to force payment processors to make changes. If you've wanted to get doodles from me but haven't been able to afford a commission, this vore month is a great opportunity to get some for free, and to really tangibly help NSFW artists everywhere <3
And hopefully in the future, artists will be able to spend less time worrying about this kind of bullshit, and more time drawing <3

FAQ:
Why can't I send an email?
Emails are easy for companies to filter. Early on in the campaign, support centers were constantly trying to get callers to email instead of calling. The reason for this is because companies like Visa/Mastercard set up dedicated inboxes for complaints that are easy for them to ignore. But they can't ignore phone calls or physical mail - everything that comes through those channels has to be triaged by a person. The goal of this campaign is not to make Mastercard understand that you're upset - payment processors already understand what the problem is. But for whatever reason (whether pressure from fundamentalist groups, or their own hang-ups, or soft government pressure) they don't want to fix the problem. So our job is to be so annoying and to cost them so much money in support triaging, and to generate so much negative press, that they have to fix our problem just to make us go away.
How long does a call need to be?
More than 2 minutes, roughly. Every bit helps, and I know critters get anxious about making phone calls. If you've dialed in, you've done an amazing job already. However, consistent with the above, long calls do hurt payment processors more than short calls. Every minute that you're on the phone with a support person is a minute that person can't spend helping somepony else - which means that the support lines get longer, and Visa/Mastercard/etc.. need to pay more to resolve the issue. So while this isn't a *promise*, I might be tempted to occasionally spend a few more minutes myself on a drawing if the call duration is impressively long~
What should I say?
Be polite. Support staff don't set these policies and don't have any control over them, and we are doing something that is extremely annoying to them - we are making their job harder. Don't take out your frustrations on them, these policies are not their fault. But, do keep them on the phone, because unfortunately the only way to complain to payment processors in a way that they'll notice is to tie up human workers and cost these companies money. The linked site (https://stop-paypros.neocities.org) has a great list of scripts that you can use. You can also mention recent news coverage and Valve's recent statement (https://kotaku.com/mastercard-denies-pressuring-steam-to-censor-nsfw-games-2000614393) to help get across that this is something getting mainstream coverage, and isn't just a niche protest.
Why is there a deadline to redeem a slot on a doodle?
Persistence is the name of the game during a protest like this. I've been very encouraged by seeing critters on Bluesky talk about "daily calls" the same way they'd talk about logging in to get daily rewards in a video game. The idea is that this is a marathon, it's a thing that critters can do every day as just a small chore. So I want to reinforce that feel - each day you can check to see if I've uploaded a new doodle YCH, and if you like it, you can make a call and grab a slot. I also want to discourage critters putting off calls - it's really easy to say "well, I'll get around to this maybe this weekend" - especially if you have social anxiety and aren't feeling very excited about sending a complaint to a service worker. Having doodles timed makes it harder to give in to that temptation. If you see a YCH you want on a Thursday, by the weekend a different one will be available.
Can this actually work?
Yes. It's going to be an uphill battle, we're fighting decades and decades of porn censorship. But I've never seen a response like this to payment processors, and already Visa, Mastercard, and Stripe have been forced to make public statements that they wouldn't normally make. I really believe that if we stay organized and persistent, we can force payment companies to make concessions. How many? I don't know. But being able to openly offer NSFW services on Stripe or Paypal would be a minor life-changing event for me - I'm not lying when I say there are multiple projects I've abandoned purely because of this issue. Getting any kind of serious concession from payment processors would be really impactful for the work that I do. And I do think it's possible.
Does my call really help?
Especially if you don't call companies very often, your call helps <3 Repeat callers to service centers get shuffled into their own handling process. Over time, repeat callers will get less effective at tying up the lines. Calls from new numbers don't go through that process. If you haven't been calling, now - right when companies are starting to filter out and handle repeat callers - is the perfect time to start. <3
I'm not on Mastodon/Bluesky, can I join?
Sure! The reason why I'm prioritizing those platforms is for reach and ease of posting (uploading doodles to full galleries is much more time consuming). But if I see a note from you on an account I'm monitoring with a refsheet and a screenshot/photo, I probably won't turn you down ;3 Just be aware that because this is kind of time consuming, I'm only posting the doodles on these platforms for right now, I'm not setting up delivery pages for them right now. So even though you're sending me info on another platform, you'll have to check my Mastodon to download your delivery :3 (also keep in mind that doodles are public)
What doodles have you done so far?

Safe/Reformation Vore stream this Sunday/Monday <3
General | Posted 4 months agoI've been meaning for a while now to do a vore stream that's disposal/scat free, didn't have any graphic digestion, and only featured vore that was safe/endo, or willing/harmless reformation.
So I'm gonna give that a try this Sunday and Monday! <3
On Sunday I'll be doing a shorter stream during the afternoon, probably starting at or before 4pm EST (8pm UTC). And on Monday I'll be doing a longer stream steam starting at around 7pm EST (11pm UTC).
If you've been meaning to check up on streams but don't want to gamble on seeing some of my more intense stuff, it's a good opportunity to hang out in a safer environment <3
I stream on both https://piczel.tv/watch/foxyoreos and https://picarto.tv/foxyoreos/ and chat is bridged between them, so whichever chat you join you'll be able to talk with anypony else :3 Piczel also allows anonymous critters to join chat, so you can stop by even if you don't have an account :3

I'll be traveling next week! Plus, stream surveys!
General | Posted 5 months agoI'm going to be away traveling with family next week. What this means is that I'll likely be a bit slower to respond to messages/comments (and there might be a few socials I don't check at all), and I won't be streaming. ;w;
I will try to work on commissions while I'm away, but I don't know how much I'll be able to get done.
Art will get updated, in fact because I prepped for this there'll actually be more art next week than usual X3 (*embarassed fox noises*). I've also done a bunch of extra art that Subscribstar supporters will get access to at the normal times (although I may release things a bit early Saturday night, and I might not release next week's early art until Sunday when I get back) :3
Separately, I've also been really seriously looking into branching out streams a little, possibly varying time throughout the week or having shorter streams more often. I've also been thinking about offering safe-vore only streams. These wouldn't have any painful/traumatic vore, and they wouldn't have any scat or permanent digestion, but could still include endo vore, reformation, and general lewdness.
So questions! If you've wanted to tune into streams but couldn't because of timing, what time would you want a weekly stream to be? (let me know in UTC so I can convert to my time zone lol) X3
Secondly, if you've wanted to tune into streams but couldn't because you were put off by some of the stuff I draw, what kind of content restrictions would you want to see that would make the stream more accessible to you? And are there enough critters that I could do streams of that sort on a regular basis, or would it be better for me to do them bi-weekly or even monthly?
And finally, is there anything that you've wished I streamed that I haven't been streaming?
(*tilts head at you friendly-like* :3)

NYC Election Doodles!
General | Posted 6 months agoMore doodles? More doodles! :3
NYC primaries are coming up soon, and for this election I want to focus on raising awareness about the race. So here's the deal:
You post the following text on either Bluesky or Mastodon (or I guess if you ask you could do some other social media site, I just need to be able to confirm it):
If you live in NYC, the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming mayoral primary is June 14th, and the primary itself is on the 24th!
Zohran Mamdani is currently getting the most attention from Progressives. He's been endorsed by AOC!
https://www.vote.nyc/election/prima.....-election-2025
---
The mayoral primary will have a huge impact on NYC's next few years.
Remember that the primary uses Ranked Choice voting! That means you can vote for a preferred candidate like Zohran and rank backup candidates below him in case he loses. You don't need to worry about vote splitting!
Then you link me to that post, and give me a (short) doodle idea - ideally just a sentence or two at max.
FAQ:
★ Do I need to be a NYC resident? No! Since this is just focused on raising awareness about the voter registration deadlines and the candidates involved, I don't care whether you live in NYC or not. You'll still be spreading awareness about the race.
★ Can I add additional text/tags to it? Yep! As long as the original text and link is included, you're good <3
★ Does it have to be posted publicly? Yes, the point of this is to raise awareness about the election deadline and the candidates and to encourage more public participation in politics - there's a very limited reach that I have, and having the information in other public feeds will make it more likely to show up for critters who need to see it. :3
★ What can I request? Anything SFW or NSFW that complies with my normal content rules.
★ How large will the sketches be? That depends on how many requests I get. Pawbably not more than 5 minutes, maybe even a little quicker if a lot of critters ask for one. Try to keep ideas simple if you can.
★ Will the sketches be posted publicly? The sketches will most likely be posted publicly, so keep that in mind when making your request.

Can I post that? Pokemon edition
General | Posted 7 months agoLast Updated: 2025-05-10
NOTE: I understand that at no point during 2.7 have there been species-wide "bans". I am NOT saying that any of the species here are banned, I understand that FA is not doing species bans, you don't need to comment to let me know that X3
NOTE: I am NOT suggesting that this is an exhaustive list. There's no way to build a list that extensive. What I'm attempting to do is to build a partial list of Pokemon that have official moderator rulings that can be pointed to, to minimize the amount of work required to contact moderators about the same Pokemon multiple times. If a Pokemon is not on here, the only thing that means is that I don't have official confirmation.
NOTE: I am only looking at confirmation that I can reasonably trace back to an actual moderator decision. Instincts, heresay, anything like that - that's not what I'm going with. "I posted this and it didn't get removed" is not official confirmation. "I asked about this and got a moderator response", or "the official account stated this was okay" is official confirmation.
What this list is:
Furaffinity's upload policy 2.7 forbids uploads of characters that appear to be juvenile or minors in sexual situations. This applies to Pokemon species as well. Appearances can be subjective; altering a character's proportions or style may be enough to avoid this problem. This list deals with canonical official Pokemon artwork. In other words, if a Pokemon is drawn in an unaltered style to official Pokemon specifications with the same proportions and features as official artwork, can it be put into sexual situations under the 2.7 rule? This does not mean the Pokemon could never be uploaded, and it does not mean a Pokemon marked as safe can never fall afoul of 2.7. This only applies to artwork that hews closely to the official art style.
If you literally took the official artwork from the PokemonDB entry page, and drew a penis on top of it, would the result fall foul of 2.7?
Why this list?
Furaffinity's moderation staff has a massive backlog of requests and it takes a while to go through them. If multiple critters ask about the same Pokemon, each of those questions needs a separate response. Ideally, when the moderation team makes a determination about a Pokemon species (again, looking at the official artwork/proportions), that could be written down somewhere publicly so that other artists don't need to waste moderator time or wait weeks for a response.
The fox is not making a judgement on whether any species should or shouldn't be on this list. The only thing this list is intended to do is to help de-duplicate moderation tickets.
★★★
Confirmed Alter
Pokemon on this list should be altered from their official proportions or include some kind of visual indication that they're not underage.
★ Buneary: confirmed via support ticket (my own): "Buneary drawn with no attempt to show that the subject is of legal age is against the policy and considered a juvenile character. Juvenile characters are not allowed in sexual situations, including fatal vore."
Confirmed Unaltered
Currently looking for confirmation
At some point I'll submit tickets for these myself, whenever I get into a situation where I'm actually drawing them. That might not be for a while though for some of them.
★ Eevee: There's a transcript from the last town hall suggesting that Eevee are fine. ("Sciggles: Eevee wasn’t originally banned to begin with, but it was handled not great. So, yeah. If you read through 2.7 there is no species bans, it's all going to be contextual.") However, when I read this more closely, this doesn't necessarily mean that they're fine unaltered, this is just Sciggles reaffirming that there wasn't a species-wide ban. I have a number of Eevee pieces I want to post here in the future (and some I've already been posting), so I will be trying to confirm with support soon whether those pieces (and unaltered proportions in general) are allowed.
★ Mew: I could swear I saw a Bluesky thread showing a ticket reply that Mew dimensions still had to be altered before being posted, but for the life of me I can't find it now, so I'm putting this in the uncertain category unless I run into that thread again.
★ Zorua: I have a few NSFW pieces with Zorua that I'll submit tickets for soon to try and confirm.
★ Vulpix
★ Riolu
★★★
If you have confirmation from support or an official that show-accurate NSFW of a Pokemon species is allowed OR requires alteration, let me know! Note that it should be a recent support ticket or statement (ie after the most recent 2.7 changes). It should not just be "I uploaded a piece and it didn't get banned." Remember that this is specifically for unaltered body types - if you reference a Pokemon piece with different body proportions than the official art, it's not applicable to this list.
If you're affiliated with FA and you can confirm any of these in an official capacity (or better yet, add a wiki page) - that would make my life a lot easier <3 UwU
But otherwise, I'll keep this list up-to-date whenever I see official confirmation on any Pokemon species. :3

FA is read-only? A quick gallery reminder :3c
General | Posted 7 months agoI'll do my best to schedule pieces like normal so that I can start uploading them once FA finishes its data migration <3
But if you don't want to wait for that, a quick reminder that you can follow me on:
★ Itaku: https://itaku.ee/profile/foxyoreos
★ Aryion: https://aryion.com/g4/user/foxyoreos
★ Inkbunny: https://inkbunny.net/foxyoreos, and
★ Weasyl: https://www.weasyl.com/~foxyoreos
to keep up to date with new art :3
I'm also on both Mastodon (https://gulp.cafe/@foxyoreos) and Bluesky (https://bsky.app/profile/foxyoreos.bsky.social).
Not all of my art gets uploaded to those two sites because sometimes I draw really long comics and writing the alt text is difficult X3 But on the plus side if you like my writing, I try my best when I can to make my alt text just as lewd as my art! So following on those sites can be a good way to get access to some extra teasy descriptions that don't get posted anywhere else :3c
You can always see my full list of socials at https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10937736/ - I try to keep that page up-to-date with any new platforms that I'm using.
I also monitor comments on all of the platforms listed there; so if you leave a comment on any of those platforms, I'll see it and respond just like I do on FA :3
Thanks!~

US Wisconsin resident? Get a free doodle this election <3
General | Posted 8 months agoIf Elon Musk can give away millions of dollars to directly influence voters (https://www.wpr.org/news/elon-musk-wisconsin-visit-giveaway-supreme-court-race-schimel-crawford), I can give away some fucking doodles. I'll even go the extra mile that Elon Musk won't and make my giveaway legal. No requirement for proof of voting, all you need to do is be a Wisconsin resident and be willing to put your name to the following pledge:
"I believe that the GOP has explicitly aligned itself with fascists and that I have a moral duty to vote in our elections to reduce the power that they hold."
My normal content rules for doodles are still in effect, see more here: https://foxyoreos.netlify.app/#content-rules - that means nothing excessively gory or featuring underage characters. Doodles will be likely posted publicly in the future.

New (Optional) Commission Form
General | Posted 9 months agoI've been slowly updating https://foxyoreos.netlify.app to have more useful commission details and to better showcase previous works, and I've added an (optional) commission form that you can fill out on the site or at https://tally.so/r/n0axQQ that goes over a lot of the common questions that need to get sorted out when working with new clients. It even has a way to upload a ref pic! <3
This is strictly optional, you can still message me the same as you always have - and regardless of how you contact me I'll follow up with you in messages to go over more details about your ideas and to figure out prices - but if you've ever felt nervous starting that process, the form should streamline a lot of it.
If you're on the Subscribestar, you can also use this form to submit doodle ideas! If you do, I'll reach out to you on Subscribestar to confirm that it was actually you that submitted the form. And I'm working on an new delivery site that should make all of that a lot easier as well :3

Commision Price/Term updates >w<
General | Posted 9 months agoI've updated the terms and prices on my commission site! https://foxyoreos.netlify.app/#terms (technically I did like a week ago, but now I'm finally announcing it >w<)
I've been saying for a while that I was going to do this, but it took me a while to figure out which changes to make. I'll summarize what's different below, and give a little bit of reasoning.
A few notes for ongoing commissioners/supporters:
- If you have ongoing commissions with me or commissions in planning, the prices we discussed for those commissions won't change. If they do change, I'll only change them to a lower price. I'm not looking to pull the rug out from under anypony.
- The prices of the two "regular" supporter tiers on Subscribestar won't be changing - this effectively means that both of them are now better deals than they used to be (both roughly $10 off normal prices as well as including access to the Subscribestar) <3
- For now there are no changes being made to the normal Supporter tier, but I suspect at some point in the future I will cap the number of subscribers on that tier and make separate tiers for early access and for monthly doodles. If you are on the current Supporter tier, nothing will change for you: you'll still be able to get monthly doodles at the same price. Again, I'm not looking to surprise anypony or pull the rug out from under them.
Price Changes
- Timed stream sketches are now $40 an hour. They can be picked up in 30 min increments, and in most cases going forward I will likely cap them at 2 hours per-session.
- "Polished commissions" have been renamed to "off-stream" commissions and they're now $35 an hour. They can be picked up in 1 hour increments.
- I'll still include censors on pieces where I'd be including them anyway (at no charge), but now if I don't think I need to do a censor for a piece, you can ask me to include one anyway for $5.
- Story pricing is unchanged :3
Minor Term adjustments
All of these were already kind of the policy, but I've made them a bit more explicit
- Consultation sessions for off-stream commissions are no longer required/guaranteed unless I think a piece/idea really needs one. This should make commissioning a lot simpler for most critters.
- I added additional clarification that commissions are released publicly except for very rare exceptions (but also clarified that they can be anonymously attributed). A few new rules for attribution (I can decline to link to a site that I don't want to support). If you've talked to me about this before, nothing is changing for you.
- For off-stream commissions, unworked hours aren't billed. In other words, if a piece is estimated at 6 hours but I finish it in 5, you'll only be billed for 5 hours.
Subscribestar Regular Tier changes/clarifications
If you've checked out the Subscribestar, you'll know that there are (unfortunately currently filled) tiers where you can "subscribe" to commissions for a discount. I'm actually making these a bit more flexible :3
- The "Regular" tiers (both 60 and 90 minutes) will stay the same price.
- The commission time from these tiers can be applied to either on-stream or off-stream commissions, whichever you'd prefer.
- I'm also allowing the time from these tiers to be combined or "banked" with other commissions or rewards. For example, if you're on a 60 minute tier, you can add that hour to a longer commission, or even wait and combine it with your next month's reward to get a 2 hour commission. This is allowed within reason. If you try to bank your hours for a year, I will stop you and ask you to use the hours before I get a 12 hour commission dropped on me out of nowhere X3 But if you'd like to use that time in a more creative way, you can as long as you clear it with me first.
Why these changes
The only really big change here is to "polished" commissions - they're now completely identical to stream sketches except that they have to be purchased by the hour and that I can work on them off-stream. I still can pull them up during streams as well and do check-ins or sessions on-stream, but I can put them away if I need to, and they don't have to be drawn in a single session.
Since starting commissions, I've found that 3-4 hour off-stream commissions usually actually go great, so I'm much less nervous about opening them up to more critters. I also started to notice that my on-stream commissions were very quickly becoming the primary way that I was commissioned even for polished artwork - I think in part because they were significantly cheaper than off-stream art.
I love doing stream sketches, but for larger amounts of time like 3 hours, it becomes very difficult for me to estimate how much work I'll get done in a single drawing session - and what was meant to be an experimental exploratory commission format for small pieces started to turn into a marathon format with multi-page comics and polished artwork, where both I and the commissioner had to make decisions very quickly on the fly or do significant planning in advance - at that point it doesn't make sense for those pieces to have the extra restrictions that timed sketches have.
This all tends to be a lot more stressful for me and (I think) for commissioners as well who are struggling to make a narrow format work with more ambitious or specific projects. And in addition, being primarily focused on stream sketches means I can't work billable hours unless I'm streaming and the commissioner is available, which is just not sustainable long-term - with that restriction there won't be enough time to take on paid work each week to cover rent.
So my hope is to actually encourage more critters to try out off-stream commissions. For many clients they're now the same price that I was charging before for timed stream commissions, and they'll be a lot more flexible.
And again, I'll still be able to occasionally draw these commissions on stream and do check-ins. This just allows me to keep working on them when the client isn't available to watch <3
Will prices change in the future?
Possibly. Pricing for commissions is going to be a balancing act where I figure out how to make my artwork sustainable long-term without making commissions inaccessible. Right now, artwork and managing everything surrounding it is pretty much the only thing I do outside of IRL chores and responsibilities - but there are multiple ways for me to improve that situation including decreasing the amount of time that I need to invest into scheduling and posting artwork, streamlining the commission process, and so on.
For right now I want to move very slowly and cautiously with price increases - if I can get my art to a point where it is providing a stable living with a reasonable work/life balance, then I don't really care about making more than that. And I think that encouraging more off-stream commissions will help with that a lot. But ultimately I'll be playing it by ear and regularly checking my financials to figure out what I need to charge.
What I promise is that whatever changes I make, I'll do my best not to catch anypony off-guard or to make commissions inaccessible. I'm really excited about the direction that my art has been headed; being able to work on artwork full-time is a dream-come-true, and I'm incredibly grateful for how things have gone so far <3
If you have any questions or suggestions about anything, feel free to comment or message me. I'll also be going over some of my gallery sites and infographics to see what needs to be updated, and I'll be trying to flesh out my commission website to make it a bit more helpful and to make it work better as a gallery <3

German? Get a free doodle this election :3
General | Posted 10 months agoIf you're a German citizen, let me know that you've voted early (by absentee ballot) or that you have a plan to vote, and I'll give you a 5 minute doodle of your choice!
Can be vore related, NSFW, or fully SFW. You can see my full content rules at https://foxyoreos.netlify.app/#content-rules
FAQ:
What kind of proof do I need? Doesn't need to be much - you don't need a photo or anything, you just have to convince me that you're a German citizen and that you have a plan to vote. You don't even need to actually follow through on that plan! But if you lie to me, your guilty conscience will condemn you and you'll feel bad >:3c
Do I have to tell you who I'm voting for? NO. I'm not telling you who to vote for, I just want you to make a plan to vote.
Why? We're facing an international resurgence of fascism, and furries across the globe - especially new voters - need to become more involved in politics and need to increase our representation. Now more than ever I want furries to be aware of politics and to not sit out elections.
Why Germany? They're the highest profile upcoming election with a party running that I consider to be openly fascist. I may repeat this for other countries.
I'm not a German citizen, can I get a doodle? Let me know when your next election is! ;3
If you're located in the US, you can check upcoming state elections at https://www.usvotefoundation.org/ and let me know when they'll be coming up. I'm not promising that I'll do this for every election, or what form the offer will take for each election, but I'll try to offer some kind "get out the vote" special for primaries and state elections when I can.
Is this legal?
I'm pretty sure it is? I'm more familiar with US voting laws, but I've done research and I don't think I'd be violating any German laws. If I become aware of any issues, I'll reduce the requirements to comply with those laws. For example, in the US I'll pawbably have different offers/requirements since giving something of value to encourage voting registration (regardless of the party) is illegal. Or at least was, before Elon decided, "fuck it, I'll just do that anyway", and then we all just decided that this law no longer applied. ><
For Germany in particular, I'm looking at stories like this, as well as looking into specific laws that I can find online, all of which seem to indicate to me that this is OK. But if you have concerns (and actual knowledge of them, not just arm-chair lawyering stuff) reach out to me privately and let me know.
What can I request? 5 minute doodles are quick drawings. Come up with a 1-2 sentence description max of what you want, and link over any refs that are important to your idea. Simpler or offbeat is good! Imagine that you're giving me a Gartic Phone prompt.
Will the pics be private? They can be anonymously attributed, but I publicly post most things that I draw. So don't ask for doodles that you wouldn't want to end up online - I will likely put together some kind of collage depending on the number of responses I get.

Feedback/Opinion request: Artconomy
General | Posted 10 months agoTLDR: Have you used Artconomy before (either as an artist or a commissioner)? What did you think about it?
Post election, one of my goals was to diversify payment processors more (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/58776730/). I currently accept payment for commissions via Paypal invoice and Subscribestar. Paypal has much lower fees but is.. well.. you know. Paypal. Subscribestar has much higher fees but allows critters to pay without giving me their email address or (occasionally, I can't figure out how Paypal decides what information to share) their real name. And there's much less danger of Subscribestar getting mad at me for drawing NSFW and randomly closing my account <3
At some point soon I'll be trying out Itch.io, which will allow for a lot of interesting projects, but won't be a good fit for commissions and still uses Paypal (or Payoneer) for payouts.
Now I'm looking at Artconomy as well. It's an escrow service, meaning that when a commission gets placed, Artconomy holds the payment until the commission is done. It's billed as a way to make commissions safer for both commissioners and artists, but the important part of that to me is that Artconomy takes payments via normal credit cards but (like Subscribestar) does artist payouts via bank transfers - meaning a Paypal ban wouldn't affect my ability to take commissions on there.
I don't plan to remove any payment options - this would strictly be another option alongside Paypal and Subscribestar. But I'm trying to find feedback on the platform - to figure out how much usage it has, how accessible it is, and what experiences both artists and commissioners have had on the site.
If you've used Artconomy and have thoughts about the site, please let me know! <3

Tag blocking on FA!!!!
General | Posted 11 months agohttps://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11045804
I'm going to need to evaluate the new feature to see how well it works. Depending on how thorough it is and how reliable it is, I may start to censor less art on Furaffinity. It'll take me a while to figure out how reliable the feature is (and whether the community makes use of it) before I make a decision about that.
If you are following me (or NOT following me) and you have opinions about this, please let me know. I know that there are some critters who have actually started to like my censors X3 I also know that you might not know in advance everything you need to block, so maybe some censorship for extreme things is still nice?
It's going to be something I pay attention to.
The recent developments on FA are the most hopeful I've felt about the site's future since I originally joined FA. There is a long way to go but if you had asked me even a day ago when FA would actually get tag blocking, I would have told you it was still mostly theoretical if it would ever get around to actually programming the feature. FA has promised tag blocking forever. The followthrough is what matters.
So I don't have more extensive thoughts right now, but I am going to be paying attention to things and possibly being a bit less restrictive about the site, depending on how it continues to get developed and depending on how the moderation policies evolve.

Supporter-exclusive art account on Mastodon/Fediverse <3
General | Posted 11 months agoAre you a supporter on Subscribestar? Are you on Mastodon? Would you like to get earlier access to artwork than you get on Subscribestar? Would you like to be able to filter artwork that you don't want to see? (scat/fatal vore/etc..)
I've set up a follower-only account on the Fediverse at https://pixelfed.art/foxyoreos and I'm going to be trying out uploading art to it as I finish it, which means that rather than getting artwork only at the end of the week, you'll get some of it sprinkled in during the week as well. <3
There won't be any exclusive artwork on this account that isn't visible on Subscribestar, so you won't be missing anything if you don't follow. The only difference will be that I'll upload artwork during the week instead of consolidating it all into one post at the end of the week.
But advantages of following are:
★ (occasionally) earlier access to artwork, as opposed to needing to wait until the end of the week.
★ The ability to get artwork in your Mastodon client on your phone instead of needing to log into Subscribestar.
★ The ability to suggest alt text (I may at some point in the future start offering doodle rewards as an incentive to help me write alt text).
★ The ability to filter artwork via tags. Subscribestar doesn't have a way for me to put content warnings on posts, so if you've wanted to subscribe to me but don't want to see scat artwork, you can follow me through Mastodon and then mute the #scat tag! <3
★ An easier messaging platform than Subscribestar with the ability to send images in DMs!
I'm currently handling everything by paw - if it goes well, I'll set up an automated system to help manage followers. But to get access right now, all you need to do is message me your Fediverse handle on Subscribestar, and then send a follow request to @foxyoreos@pixelfed.art from that handle. If you're at a supporter tier or above, I'll approve the follow and you'll be able to see everything right in your home timeline of any Mastodon or Fediverse account you use. <3
I realize this isn't as convenient as a Discord or Telegram, but I've had a lot of trouble trying to set one of those up (tech companies hate my phone number). Depending on how this works out I might try to set up other integrations as well :3

Why I'm not on Telegram/Discord
General | Posted 11 months agoUpdate: I've managed to get a Telegram account working, but I still don't trust it. For the moment, it's commissioner-only and requires us to have a backup chat that we can get in touch over. The risk is just too large otherwise that I'll build up a client-base on Telegram and then not be able to contact them if my account gets locked. I haven't been able to make any progress on Discord, and given the site's aggressive stance against 3rd-party tooling and API usage (as well as its continued embrace of AI "features"), it's not a high priority for me to figure out.
TLDR: I've tried every phone number combination I can realistically think of and looked into every strategy that's been suggested to me, and I do not know how to make an account on any of these platforms without getting immediately banned for the "crime" of having a VOIP number as my primary phone number. I'm not on these platforms because I can not join them.
I regularly get requests from friendly, well-meaning critters for me to join more mainstream Furry messaging apps - particularly Telegram and Discord. It's often surprising to them that I'm not on these platforms, and I think it would be good for me to write up a public explainer going over why they don't work for me.
The TLDR is that I can't join them. I have a VOIP telephone number as my primary number. None of these services will verify with my phone number, and there is no reliable method I've been able to find (temporary numbers, secondary numbers) where I can create accounts or trust that my accounts won't be banned.
★★★
Let's start with Discord:
Discord allows signup without a phone number, but if the service is ever accessed over a VPN (or if Discord just decides that it doesn't like you), your account will be locked without a phone number being used to verify.
Google Voice, Google Fi, Republic Wireless, or other commercial VOIP services or providers, temporary numbers, or anything similar can not be used for that verification.
It is pawsible that if I bought a disposable SIM, Discord would accept it. But looking around at options near me, that would be at least $50 to check with no guarantee that it would work - I could end up just wasting the money. If I was suddenly blocked from Discord, every conversation or contact I had on there would be lost - it would mean leaving commissioners unread suddenly with zero notification of why. It's a giant risk that I can't mitigate.
Another big issue is that Discord is also aggressive about 3rd-party API usage. I use APIs heavily to consolidate notifications of messages across multiple websites - it's really the only reason I'm able to keep up with comments on my pieces. Discord's default notification system (from what I can figure out) kind of sucks, and if I tried to improve it by wiring up the notification system I use for every other website I post on, I might get banned for it. Even something as simple as a browser extension can get you banned from Discord - so the site is just not a secure or feasible long-term place for me to build a home on. I can't standardize communication with commissioners on a platform that will ban me if I try to use it professionally and to adapt it into a professional, scripted workflow that allows me to keep up with messages.
It's too much of a risk - not only to me, but also to anypony contacting or commissioning me.
(Since writing this article, Discord has also doubled down on more aggressive verification requirements, added a bunch of AI bullshit, and has started even more aggressively clamping down on 3rd-party tools, likely because the company intends to more aggressively monetize its users in the future. I still don't have a reliable way to get a number that would work, but also I'm just less interested in using the platform at all now - and if Discord continues in its current direction, soon I'll lump it in with Twitter and refuse to make an account on principle. Not that it will matter, because I still have no idea how to make an account that doesn't immediately get locked.)
★★★
Let's talk about Telegram:
I have issues with Telegram - the app is bad at privacy and increases the likelihood of furries using it getting doxed or outing themselves to contacts. It also has some shady ties to extremist groups. But neither of those issues are so bad that I wouldn't make an account on it.
The real issue is that I can't. I've actually put a lot of effort into trying to make a Telegram account. Eventually, I did find a VOIP number that worked - a Google Voice number from a Google account I had made ages ago. I signed up, finally installed the app, breathed a sigh of relief that I had finally figured out a solution.
In less than half a day, before I even started using it, the account and the phone number were both permanently banned. Honestly, that was kind of the last straw, and it's why I'm now writing this post X3
I've read stories about critters using VOIP numbers with Telegram and getting their accounts banned out of the blue 6 months down the line. When that happens, there is no recourse - Telegram's support team famously does not respond to requests about bans. There is no way for me to make an account on Telegram that I can trust long-term - but there's also no way for me to make even a temporary account on Telegram. I've burned through every phone number and every service I can think of that I can realistically use - I don't know how to make a Telegram account.
(Since writing this, I've been able to make a Telegram account and now use it to communicate with a decent number of commissioners. I don't trust the platform (see above) and won't use it for general social accounts, but it is available to commissioners who request it. I'll also make a pitch for Signal here - for one-on-one commissioning purposes, I can't figure out what Telegram does that Signal doesn't do just as well. But Telegram is available as an option now. >w<)
★★★
Let's talk about Twitter:
Okay, this is one where I do have principled objections. Twitter is run by a fascist and it's a hellhole for artists. The site's algorithms are actively hostile - linking to external websites will get your post downranked in the algorithm. Tagging your artwork gets you downranked. There are very few if any tools to curb harassment - recently, Elon hinted that blocking too many accounts would get you downranked. Which makes group blocklists of commission spam/scam accounts impossible to use. This website fkn hates artists, seriously.
And did I mention the Twitter is run by a fascist?
It's very likely that if I tried to make a Twitter account, I would run into the same problems - I've heard plenty of stories about Twitter asking for phone numbers. But truthfully, Twitter is the one website on this list that I refuse to use no matter what.
Thankfully, while I don't have good alternatives to Discord/Telegram, there are two good alternatives to Twitter: Bluesky and/or Mastodon. I am on both. I have misgivings about Bluesky, but if you're used to Twitter it's a straightforward improvement in pretty much every way. It has better moderation, better feed support, it's not filled to the gills with advertisements and spam, and there are already a ton of furry artists there to follow <3. I'm at https://bsky.app/profile/foxyoreos.bsky.social. If you're used to Twitter and want something that feels similar without as much of the bullshit, join Bluesky.
Mastodon is a smaller network that differs from Twitter in some substantial ways - it's not for everypony. But I find it to be a really cozy place where I feel comfortable and safe, and as a result it's pawbably the network where I am most social out of everywhere online. If you're joining Mastodon I recommend the gulp.cafe, bark.lgbt, and cubhub.social instances - all of them are very cozy, federate with each other, and are run by floofs who I trust. My account is https://gulp.cafe/@foxyoreos.
★★★
There are two main reasons why I suspect critters like Telegram and Discord so much: sharing artwork in DMs, and proper notifications/chat around new artwork.
I don't want to dismiss the convenience of being able to open up your phone and get instant notifications that new artwork is available, and then to be able to chat or message about that artwork all in the same app. I understand the appeal, it would be really useful to be able to link a Discord account to Subscribestar. I would love a way to set up a private chat room where I could post art and chat with Subscribers, it would be great. And I'll be honest, the Discord and Telegram alternatives (Matrix and Signal) are not anywhere as good as the competition.
The reason I'm not on these platforms is not to be spiteful or to make some kind of statement about them - it's because I literally can't join them. And even if I could, I can't use platforms for coordinating commissions or send out art rewards if I'm constantly worried that some AI system on a server someplace is going to decide to randomly ban me because I forgot to turn off a VPN. The risk is just too high.
I'm open to suggestions about other platforms to look into. I'm currently testing out a Steam account (available on request) to see if it can serve as a way to send DMs to critters who want a better way of getting notifications from me. I also have email accounts I'm willing to share with commissioners if there are no other ways to coordinate art.
What I want furries to understand is that consolidating too heavily on hyper-commercial platforms like Discord/Telegram means that you will have a harder time communicating with some furries and some artists, through nopony's fault except for the platforms themselves. These platforms are not designed to be universally accessible, they don't care if everypony can sign up for them. I think that many furries assume that of course anypony could join if they wanted to - but I want to make it very clear that the phone number I have used for over a decade as my primary phone number - the number that I use for everything, including banking - that number will get me banned from these platforms. They are not accessible to everypony. Not everypony can make an account.
As part of my programming work in 2025 I'm going to be trying to address some of the underlying pawblems with notifications and messaging that make these platforms so useful - but I want to encourage you to try and set up some social media accounts on platforms that aren't so locked down and weird. If Steam works out for me - great, I'm happy to use Steam to help with messaging. If there are other platforms I can use that I'm not paying attention to, I'm willing to look into them.
I'd love to be able to keep in touch with you all, and I understand that for some of you, galleries aren't a great place to coordinate commissions or to get art updates. But for me to help with that, you need to be active on a platform that I (and furries like me) can actually join.
But truthfully, Twitter is the one website on this list that I refuse to use no matter what.

e621 Upload Policy (and a brief infodump about tags <3)
General | Posted a year agoI got very kindly asked whether or not I was okay with having my art uploaded to e621. I am! And in fact, I've even written up a profile on the site now! (https://e621.net/users/2027158) :3
I don't think of e621 as an artist site. I don't think it's a place where I would make a gallery that I can curate and control. Posts need to be approved, so I'd be constantly worried about quality, and the site is generally set up in a way that makes it clear that I wouldn't be building my own community - the site is a separate furry community that I can look at and interact with. So I pawbably am not going to be proactive about uploading my own artwork. But, if you're part of that community on e621, you can upload my art.
..with just a few caveats (sorry X3)
❤❤❤
The first big caveat is that I'd like you to get pawmission from either me or from a commissioner before you upload directly commissioned artwork. Commissioners can of course upload art to e621 (and any other site), and as long as the piece isn't tagged as "Young", they can ignore pretty much any other rule I come up with for my own art. So if they're OK with you uploading a piece, go for it. You don't need to ask my pawmission and you only need to follow their tagging rules (aside from not adding "Young" tags).
Similarly, I also retain rights to upload commissions I do to other websites, so if I directly give you pawmission to upload a commissioned piece, you're welcome to do so.
❤❤❤
For non-commissioned artwork, I don't need you to ask pawmission as long as you follow the below rules.
Most of them revolve around tagging. e621 uses (well, pretends to use) a "Tag What You See" system. If you've followed me on more casual social networks like Mastodon or Bluesky, I make no secret of the fact that I think e621's tagging system kind of.. well.. sucks? Sorry, I don't want to be mean about it, I just don't think it's very good or well-thought-out >w<
The idea behind TWYS is that a picture should be tagged based on the visible elements of the picture, independent of any additional context. Again, it's.. well, I've written about my opinions on how that works multiple times in the past. But the short version is, TWYS is not the system I use when I write tags for Aryion, Inkbunny, or Itaku. I use what I would call a "Tag What is Useful" system.
"Tag What is Useful" means that I tag based on which tags provide the best information about the picture, make it easiest to search for, and make it easiest to filter (on sites that support filtering). If I'm trying to decide whether or not to include a tag, I don't ask whether or not its visibly represented or whether it's subjective, I ask whether the tag provides context or information about the picture and whether the average floof would want the tag to be added. Basically, I don't ask whether a tag technically fits based on an arbitrary criteria, I ask what benefit or drawback there is to adding the tag.
I'm not intending to get into a debate about e621's tagging policies, and for the most part the difference in tagging philosophy is fine, even though I do think TWYS makes e621 harder to use and makes it less useful as an archival site. But there are a few areas where TWYS can be a larger problem:
Artwork by me on e621 should not be tagged as "young"
I'm pretty explicit about the fact that my artwork only features adults even in vore artwork that is SFW and wouldn't be out of place on any children's show. This is not some kind of moral crusade, it's a way for me to avoid unnecessary drama. I don't want to have a debate about what vore counts as SFW or sexual, or what the context is of a character, or any of these issues. And I upload to multiple galleries that have policies against underage characters, and I don't want one of those galleries to think a character is underage because of another site's lax tagging standards. The point is that incorrectly tagging a piece that I draw as "young" risks damaging my reputation as an artist and risks opening me up to harassment or abuse on other platforms. Because of that, I take a really hard stance on this. Regardless of what the reasoning is or what e621 says that the tag implies or doesn't imply, if a piece on e621 that I've drawn is tagged as "Young", I'll first try to remove the tag, and if that fails, I'll issue a takedown request for that piece. This is my policy regardless of whether the piece was uploaded with permission of a commissioner or by me. It's just a way of keeping myself safe as an artist.
Everything else below, commissioners can ignore. You may upload your pieces anywhere with any tags. <3
But for pawsonal artwork that I draw:
Characters I draw should not be misgendered
e621 rather famously requires characters to be tagged as male or female based on subjective criteria and/or the presence of genitalia - regardless of context and even if text and actions visible within the picture state the character's correct gender. After considerable backlash, the site added transgender tags, insultingly labeled as "lore". The lore category is pretty much only used for transgender tags and incest, despite the fact that contextual information is used for many other tags on the site - making it clear that lore tags were only added to ease the controversy and that they're not part of e621's broader tagging policy. e621's stance is that sex/gender tags are not misgendering, they're simply describing what gender a character "appears" to have. My policy is that I'm not calling e621's gender tags transphobic, I'm simply pointing out that they "appear" to be transphobic to the average visitor, and that they "appear" to be misgendering characters, and that the wiki can say whatever it wants about e621's intentions, but the wiki is just lore. I'm just describing what I see X3
You may upload artwork that I draw with transgender characters to e621, BUT those characters may not be misgendered (ie, a trans male character should not be labeled as "female"). If they are misgendered, I'll issue takedown requests for that artwork. In practice, if e621's rules about gender tagging are enforced, that means you won't be able to upload personal artwork that I draw that includes transgender characters because there is no way to avoid having those characters misgendered. Most notably, that would include Sam and Vicky from the Forest and Max the Eevee.
But if e621 ever bends on its tagging rules for gender/sex, or if you find a way around the problem - I want to be clear that my rule here is not that you can't upload transgender characters. You can upload those characters.. as long as they are not misgendered.
Ask me about custom content warnings (if you can't tag a piece with a CW that it needs)
The final consequence of TWYS is that some pieces that need to be tagged with certain content warnings like fatal vore, digestion, scat, or rape can't have those tags applied because those outcomes are only obvious from the character context, description, accompanying story, or in other pages within a comic. There are two outcomes of not being able to tag those pieces correctly - the first is that the piece gets shown to a lot of critters who would like to be able to filter it and can't. This clutters up feeds and annoys potential clients or fans who's first experience with my art is now negative. The second directly follows; those pieces will get mass downvoted because there is nothing else that floofs can do to get it out of their feeds. It's silly for me to be bothered by that, but I am a silly fox.
Basically I'm talking about a situation where users on e621 want a tag applied to the piece, but due to the site rules, that tag can't be applied.
If you think that a piece you are uploading is going to fall into this category, let me know, and I will either upload (or send you to upload) a custom version of the piece at a higher resolution than my normal exports that includes visual content warnings along the bottom of the piece that are compatible with TWYS. That way, you get to upload a higher-resolution picture than normal, users on the site get proper tags applied that allow them to filter, I don't have to watch a piece get excessively downvoted or irrationally worry that a bunch of users hate me as an artist now, and best of all no site rules are broken.
❤❤❤
I realize it would be simpler for me to set up a Conditional DNP flag or handle uploads myself, but I want to try and give as much freedom as pawsible about e621 because I do think the site is a useful outreach tool, and I'm happy for my artwork to show up in multiple places - especially inside communities that I'm not a part of. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to sit down and type up a list of policies, and I am really grateful both that critters reached out to ask me about it, and that they've like some of my art enough to upload it. It really does mean a lot <3

Things I'm thankful for <3
General | Posted a year ago1. I'm grateful for the furry community in general, for the floofs that have liked my work and and watched as I've developed as an artist. I'm grateful for the floofs who look at the weird things I draw and think, "yes please" X3 You all are wonderful.
2. I'm grateful for the critters that show up and comment on artwork, even though it can get a little bit overwhelming sometimes to keep up with ;3 I can't really describe how motivating it all is. I'm grateful for the floofs that show up and get horny in comments, I love knowing that something I made pushed your buttons (or is pushing them~). I love when floofs comment about technical parts of the art or tell me what they like about the design. I love floofs that just leave a "nice" or a "good job".
One of the ways that my ADHD manifests is that I don't often feel extrinsic rewards. If I do something hard, it's rare for me to feel a sense of accomplishment about it. It's just part of how my brain is wired, those chemical signals don't work well. ;w; BUT when I make things that other critters enjoy.. that bypasses all of it, that hits the dopamine. That makes the fox brain go happy.
There is very little that is more motivating to me than feeling useful and knowing that I've done something that other critters like <3
3. I'm grateful for lurkers. I'm grateful for floofs that follow me anonymously and sometimes leave a message or a note just telling me that they love my art behind the scenes. I'm grateful for the small messages that tell me that they've seen my artwork in other corners of the Internet (where? I don't know! X3). Before I started drawing publicly, I spent years and years lurking anonymously without accounts on any platforms following furry artists that I respected and that brought me joy. I hope that my artwork is accessible in the same way, and it brings me joy to know that there are critters enjoying it who I don't know about.
*gives you a surreptitious wink and then pretends not to notice you*
4. I'm grateful for everypony that puts up with me in big and small ways - the SFW followers who stick around even when I'm mostly drawing sex and disposal, the disposal-loving followers who are conscious and considerate about my own occasional aversions around scat and who are conscientious about other community members, the friends on Mastodon or Bluesky that tolerate the occasional tech rants and puppy brain moments. UwU
Social anxiety is common among furries, and I've always wanted my comments sections to feel like a safe place where floofs didn't need to be perpetually anxious about saying the wrong things; where they would feel valued as individuals. I didn't expect how validating it would feel to be able to let down a little bit of that guard myself. <3
5. I'm grateful for platform maintainers. I'm grateful that I'm able to try and build a career on platforms that are available to use for free. I'm grateful for websites that allow me to host artwork and share it with communities and who work to build things that make it possible for me to try and make a living selling art. I'm grateful for spaces where I can be as cringe as I want on main. I'm grateful for the moderators that put in work to help keep those spaces running smoothly.
And I'm really grateful when those spaces leave their APIs exposed! >wO (seriously, there are artist and community management tools that I rely on that only work because websites don't get weird about this).
6. And of course, I'm grateful to commissioners! Working on artwork full-time has been an experiment. It's still experimental, but the reason why the experiment is still going is because commissioners started buying things. I launched a Subscribestar expecting nopony to join, and instead over 30 critters did. I wondered whether anypony would want to commission from me, and now the majority of artwork that I draw is commissioned. It feels surreal and strange to be able to say that. I love what I do and I hope that I'll be able to continue to do it for a long, long time. And not a day goes by that I don't get up and feel grateful that I'm able to do it.
❤❤❤
I'm grateful for all of you, and I think that you're all wonderful cute critters: whether you're big suave predators, wholesome beans and cuties, happy willing prey, casual observers, or gut sluts that need to be held down and reminded that you're food. X3 I hope you have a wonderful special week and that you get lots of head pats and nose boops >:3

What can you specifically do about FA?
General | Posted a year agoEDIT: Putting my money where my mouth is (or, well, not my money, but you know..) - I've set up a KoFi at https://ko-fi.com/foxyoreos to start funding some software development to combat some of the issues raised in comments below. The first goal I have is to open-source a tool for artists to help monitor comments on sites that they don't use or log into very often. This would be based on a private tool I've already built and use locally that sends a notification to my phone whenever I get a comment on Aryion or Furaffinity. As part of open sourcing the tool, I'd expand this to work with Aryion, Inkbunny, Furaffinity, and Itaku (and ideally allow for plugging in additional APIs).
This is designed to give artists tools to help address some of the "bot" feeling that comes from using Postybirb. Artists have trouble regularly checking and responding to comments on multiple websites - the end result is that they post to those websites using Postybirb but don't otherwise interact. This isn't a perfect solution, but would allow artists to sign into those websites when they have an interaction or message to respond to, which might make them feel a lot less empty.
There's no reward or exclusive content I can offer for donating (literally I can't offer anything, offering NSFW art would violate KoFi's policies). The reward is that the tool exists and is publicly released for anypony that wants to use it.

Original Post
❤❤❤
The first time I wrote about 2.7 was over a year ago in 2023. The tone in the post is combative, angry. Maybe more combative than it ought to have been. But I stand by the majority of it, and (to my disappointment) the main issues didn't change.
Furaffinity still frames bans and messaging about 2.7 as if the artists that run afoul of it are drawing cub porn as an objective fact, not that they have violated a subjective labeling criteria. This still risks reputational and emotional damage for the artists affected, and paints discussions about 2.7 with unnecessary emotional baggage. The comparisons and insinuations are used more than ever to paint furries (especially LGBTQ+ furries) as pedophiles. FA's messaging contributes to that smear campaign and the staff have never made a sufficient effort to combat that narrative.
Nevertheless, here I am. I'm back! <3
The problems are the same, I still worry about my artwork being tagged as cub even though it's not. I worry what happens if FA decides that rabbits are inherently childlike unless their heads are small. I still worry what happens if a moderator dislikes what I do even if my pieces carry prominent adult signifiers. Hell, I've had an uploader label one of my pieces on e621 as "young" when the character in question had sideburns. There is nothing that I can do as an artist to be sure that a moderator will never make that decision about my art. If it happens, everything that I have read and seen about FA moderation suggests that I will have no recourse and that fighting back against the decision will go poorly.
Nevertheless, here I am. <3
I have strict policies about the art I upload to FA; I don't upload Pokemon on here at all. And at some point in the future I might sit down and write more about why that is and why I feel worried about the direction FA is going and why I don't trust "SFW" vore art to be treated as SFW when it involves characters like Eevee. Most recently it's the ABDL community that's reinforced that decision for me, I believe that at some point in the future other fetishes like vore will be targeted as well.
Nevertheless, I'm on FA. Hai there! X3
Why am I on Furaffinity? Because the community uses Furaffinity. Because even after I put in a significant amount of time (nearly a year's worth of participation in other gallery sites) - within weeks of joining FA it was my second-most popular gallery, second only to Aryion, a specialty vore forum that a large portion of my art is specifically tailored to. If you're trying to make a full-time living drawing art, FA is almost a requirement. The boost in attention, supporters, and network that I get from being on FA is massive, even as somepony who is pawbably not using the site to its full potential and who has only been uploading here for a short amount of time.
❤❤❤
So let's talk about that. When furries talk about network effects, we often talk about migrations as a chicken-and-egg problem. Artists won't leave FA because the users are there. Users won't leave because the artists are there. But that's not really the case - FA doesn't suffer from this problem nearly to the degree that many commenters assume. The reality is that a lot of artists maintain multiple galleries, and there are many, many artists who are not FA-exclusive.
So if it's not that the artists are only here, then what is it? I'm going to be a little blunt here because I say this from experience: the majority of users on FA will not use other sites. I'm not even talking about abandoning FA. The majority of users will not use any other gallery site in addition to FA. The artwork that isn't uploaded to FA might as well not exist to a large portion of the community.
As an example of how far this can go, whenever I upload a censored piece to FA I put a link to an uncensored version that does not require an account or log-in to view - you can still comment and fav on FA and the full piece is a single click away. All you have to do is load up another webpage.
..I've gotten more than one request to stop censoring artwork. Which I want to clarify, I'm not mad about - I don't mind getting that feedback. But it does tell me a lot about how critters use FA.
And there are exceptions - a lot of them. This is not intended to be a scolding note, you floofs are all pretty awesome. There are many critters that follow me on multiple gallery sites and I notice when it happens and it gives me warm fuzzy feelings. Again, this is not intended to be scolding anypony; just pointing out that the majority of users on FA won't leave the site. And that leaves artists in a strange place. Tools like Postybirb make it possible (although not effortless) to post to multiple galleries. Many artists use these tools. There are a surprising number of artists that maintain presence even on sites that have almost no userbase (Weasyl, for example). There's not a lot more that they can do. And so right now, the biggest thing blocking a movement away from Furaffinity is not artists; it's users. If you as an artist drop off of FA, most users won't follow you elsewhere. If you upload half of your art to FA, the art that you don't upload won't be seen; users won't go looking for it.
Finding yourself in that position can be extremely discouraging. But that's actually a solvable problem, and it's easy to solve! And it doesn't require a mass-migration. <3

So Let's Look at Some Artists
❤❤❤
I am going to use Itaku below as an example of another gallery site, but I'm not saying that is the site that everypony should start using. I like Itaku - I think it's a better-designed gallery site than Furaffinity. But it's not for everypony. It lacks formatting tools within posts and we're still waiting on writing support. But it's a good example to use, given that it is a website that many furry artists started looking at last year.
I'm going to name a few specific artists here, and if you're on this list and you'd like to be removed, please let me know. But I want to make a point about the scale of the problem we're talking about and just how few people and critters would need to support artists elsewhere to make a difference:
Sparkythechu
★ SparkyTheChu is an extremely prolific and extremely talented Pokemon vore artist. He's friendly, well regarded in the community, and uploads regularly on multiple sites, including Itaku. Over on Itaku, Sparky's highest-rated pic has 80 stars. That's not the norm; at a quick glance I would guess that the average piece that Sparky uploads to Itaku gets around 10-20 stars?
If even 10 or 15 of the people and critters following Sparky exclusively on FA started also following him on Itaku and regularly interacting with his posts and starring them or commenting, he would absolutely notice.
Insomniacovrlrd
★ InsomniacOvrlrd (Bluesky) is the creator of Passiontail, which he made after drawing Pokemon so fkn hot that Nintendo had to tell him to stop. He is an incredible artist that does amazing work. He jumped onto Itaku early on during last-year's 2.7 controversy (which has still not been resolved for him) and has been a major proponent of the site. He's friendly, regularly takes time out of his week to boost and reshare other artists, posts Itaku-exclusive timelapses and pieces, and makes an effort to use the site as well as he pawsibly can. So naturally with all that work, his most popular piece on Itaku has.. 304 stars. And his second-most popular piece has 150. I would guess that on average, the art he uploads gets between 50-100 stars.
If 20 people or critters following him on FA also started following him elsewhere and were regularly faving and commenting on his stuff, he would notice the bump.
Pocketpaws
★ PocketPaws is fkn brilliant animator that does amazing wholesome, fun lewd animations in only 90 minutes. I do 90 minute timed static drawings and let me say, this shit is difficult and I have no idea how she pulls off the consistent high quality work that she does. She also uploads consistently to Itaku. Here she is talking about it! <3
Ever since the round of FA pokemon bans it's felt super discouraging to upload anywhere NGL!!!! [...]
Itakuu was so lovely but it seems to have dropped completely interaction wise, and though people still post, it feels lonely.
But I'm not unique in this feeling and I know many other people have felt the drop in well.. everything everywhere ;v;
..Oh.
On Itaku, Pocketpaw's most popular piece has 195 stars. She does pretty well there by the standards of the site, it's not uncommon for her to upload pieces that get nearly 100 stars! They are good animations! <3 If 20 people or critters following her on FA were also following her elsewhere and regularly faving and commenting on her stuff, she would notice the bump.
I could go on for a while. I will note that each of the artists I mention above were affected by 2.7 rule changes and have put real work into building up their web presence off of FA. They're not half-assing their social media, and there are good reasons for critters to follow them elsewhere. But they're far from the only ones.
Milachu92
★ Milachu: 150 stars on her most popular image (she has a really cute adult Pichu OC, you are missing out if you only follow her on FA!)
Peternorman
★ PerfectlyNormal: 170 stars
Vimes
★ LawyerDog: 67
What ends up happening with artists who are affected by FA rules is that they put a ton of effort into building multiple ways to follow their art and interact with them, and barely anypony takes them up on it. Sometimes they get discouraged and abandon the sites. Sometimes they stick around, trying their best to maintain multiple galleries and to do the thing that everypony has told them is what responsible artists do, even though most of the time, the artists do know deep down that they have one or two galleries that actually get serious engagement and that they can rely on as a source of income and advertising. It's demoralizing.
It's not a chicken-and-egg problem: they start the journey, they do the thing they're supposed to do - and then they end that journey because the next steps that they don't control.. don't happen.
❤❤❤
I'm not telling you to abandon Furaffinity. Supporting an artist on any site is a good thing to do. And you should never feel obligated to follow or interact with any artist in any context, that is not in any way how this works.
But if you're frustrated about the state of Furaffinity, if you get annoyed logging in and seeing scat on the front page and having no way to filter it, if you get annoyed when your favorite artists can't upload the art that they draw, if you've ever seen them complain and thought, "that sucks, somepony should build an alternative to this site."..
They have! :3 Alternatives exist and they're nearly all better-engineered than FA. And artists are using them today. Not every artist has other galleries outside of FA, but not every artist has a gallery on FA. The community is diversifying. And now there's one major step left in this process, and it's for users to use multiple sites too. I've used Itaku above as an example because it's a gallery site that doesn't have any of the criticisms that could be levied at other commonly mentioned furry galleries like Inkbunny. But there are a lot of sites: Itaku, Aryion, Inkbunny, Weasyl, SoFurry, Pillowfort, etc..
Mastodon and Bluesky aren't gallery sites, but they've seen an influx of attention as Twitter has gone down the drain, and they both have great furry artist communities. I'm on gulp.cafe over on Mastodon and I really enjoy it, but I'd also particularly recommend Bluesky right now since a lot of furry artists seem to treating it as a full Twitter replacement. It could be one! If non-artists go there too.
You don't need to leave FA. After all, I'm still here, and I'm staying for the forseable future until somepony decides they have a problem with my art. But if you use multiple websites, talk to artists on multiple websites, and build and engage with communities in multiple places - artists won't need to have as much anxiety about what might happen if one site decides to ban their art. And it doesn't require mass-community consensus or movement for that to happen.
Small steps would be enough.
❤❤❤
You can find all of my social links at https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10937736/ and I've attempted to link to the sites of everpony above that I've mentioned, but if I've forgotten anything, please let me know <3 If you're an artist that I've mentioned here and you'd like me not to mention you, just let me know and I'll change the note. And if you're a FA user and you support anypony in any way either on FA or on other sites, thank you. It's meaningful no matter what. <3
This is designed to give artists tools to help address some of the "bot" feeling that comes from using Postybirb.

The YCH feedback/suggestion thread! <3
General | Posted a year agoI've uploaded 5 separate sketches for potential YCH offerings at https://subscribestar.adult/posts/1528894 (cw scat/rape/fatal vore)
Right now none of them are available, but I'd love some suggestions or feedback about which one(s) I should clean up and offer! <3 Are any of them slots that you would see yourself bidding on, or that you think that other floofers would be interested in? Do any of them seem too narrowly tailored?
I've made the post public on Subscribestar, but if for some reason you can't vote/comment there, you can also tell me here :3
