So much for life expectancy
Posted 2 years agoThe instruction manual of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link states that the save battery will only last about five years. Tell that to games nowadays that still have their original, functional save batteries.
My Two Cents Regarding FA Policy
Posted 2 years agoWhy would you encourage pedophiles to engage in pornographic material involving the exploitation of real children by taking away their fantasy-based alternative? I mean, you're not going to change their interests by restricting what's available. All you're going to do is change where, and how they get their fix. And when an easy fantasy solution is not an option, they can no longer use that as a harmless outlet. It's like somebody who copes with their struggles by drinking, or lets out their frustrations by playing video games. You take away that alternative that isn't hurting anybody (or at least not hurting anybody other than themselves), and they're left only with outlets that are actually an issue.
Pokemon Unite CPU Matches
Posted 2 years agoIs there even a point in playing Pokemon Unite anymore when at least 95% of non-ranked matches just wind up being generated with CPUs?
When you shut down an old computer

-Shut down
-Restart
-Restart in MS-DOS mode
Seeing that third option nowadays is bizarre.

Checking Out Old Tails
Posted 2 years agoSo I absolutely loved Fuga: Melodies of Steel back when that game came out, and am so hyped for the sequel in a couple months, that I decided to go ahead and give the previous games in the Little Tail Bronx series a try. I've thus far beaten Tail Concerto, and am a few hours into Solatorobo, and so far I have to say that the games are fine. Tail Concerto was certainly charming, and straightforward, although I do feel like its controls were a tad dated and awkward, and it could've done with making exploration a bit more rewarding. Then there's Solatorobo, which certainly improves the first game's formula in a lot of ways, although the combat so far is a bit repetitive, but at least bosses don't take as ridiculously long to defeat as they did in the previous entry.
I haven't beaten Solatorobo yet, but overall I feel like both games are fairly average. Nothing incredible, but definitely worth playing. Which is a fine place for them to be, since I went into them without any real expectations.
And I do know that there was also a mobile game at one point, but I never got the chance to play that, and it's dead anyway.

Pokemon Tera Raids
Posted 2 years agoI couldn't tell you the number of raids I've lost online because somebody is so focused on the opposing Pokemon's tera type, they completely ignore what the actual Pokemon itself is, and choose something that's weak against the Pokemon. Thereby doing nothing the entire match but get knocked out in one hit every turn to super effective attacks. There's two things to consider, people. It's not all about the tiny icon in the corner.
How Long Until Soda
Posted 2 years agoI was rinsing out some soda bottles, and got to wondering. If you filled an empty, 20oz bottle of soda with water, then poured that water into another empty bottle, and kept doing that over and over, how many bottles would it take until your water has collected enough residue from the rinsed bottles to become undiluted soda.
Phantasy Star 2
Posted 2 years agoI had an itch to play Phantasy Star 2 recently, so that's what I've been doing. I just reached the Green Dam. And I'm not using online dungeon maps. Pray for my sanity.
For how popular Google is
Posted 2 years agoSometimes its search results can be absolute trash. I can't tell you the amount of times I've tried to look something up, and was given results that had absolutely nothing to do with what I typed in, or took what I typed completely out of context. Perhaps more frequently than the number of times it actually provided useful results.
Laid dog of 16 years to rest
Posted 3 years agoIt's never easy to do, even if the pain is proof of all the good times that were had, for if there weren't all those cherished memories, then saying goodbye wouldn't come with tears. Memories I could ramble on about for a long time. From the games we played, to the tricks she learned, to even some of the singular memories that, for one reason or another, stuck with me. Memories that will hopefully last a lifetime, for I pray that I never forget (on a somewhat related note, one of my greatest fears of old age is the loss of memories as my mind begins to fail). And as much as I hate to say this, for it kind of undermines the love I've had for them all, but I feel I can confidently say that she was the best dog I ever had, and can't imagine ever having a better one in the future. Her unwavering determination, and her sweet affection, and how she opened my heart to her despite the fact that I really didn't like her very much when we first got her; a feeling of spite over me thinking that we got her too soon after losing our previous dog, which one evening some weeks after she came into our lives, she shattered with her unconditional love.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet Stakes Location Question
Posted 3 years agoA question for anybody who's found all the stakes. Are any of them hidden in the Great Crater? I ask because I don't want to look up their locations, but I also want to find all of them to complete that side quest before heading to the final areas of each main story quest.
A really weird guilty pleasure of sorts
Posted 3 years agoOne of the weirdest, quirkiest things I like about vore scenarios is when the prey (especially when quadrupedal) is backed into danger. Situations where, say, the predator is slowly approaching them, and the frightened prey is backing away with their eyes fixated on the looming predator, that they don't realize until it's too late that they're backing right into an unseen trap. Could be anything from a snare, pitfall, or even something as direct as the predator basically herding the prey into an open oven. Especially if it results in the prey tripping, or bumping into the unseen danger right at the last second, their only reaction being a startled gasp before it's too late to do anything else.
Just a weird thing I was thinking about, and so decided to post a useless journal because why not.

You know how some people like browned bananas?
Posted 3 years agoI don't. That stuff is nasty. But what I do prefer over firmly ripe is slightly bruised/aged/whatever strawberries. When they're a bit darker and have a bit of softness to them, the flavor to me is a lot more pleasant, and less aggressive than when they're what I assume would be considered ideally ripe.
If anthropomorphic animals were real...
Posted 3 years agoWould they be able to snap their fingers? Particularly of the canine variety. I'm asking for input because the book mentioned in my previous journal includes a blend of humans and anthropomorphic animals in its cast, and there's one particular moment involving this query that crossed my mind while working on the final draft. So any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Because part of me wants to say, "Sure, so long as the pad on the finger and palm hit," but then another part is like, "But would the flesh of paw pads be able to generate that same sort of sound based on structural differences to human skin?" I tried asking Google, but all it gave me were results about how to handle a dog when it snaps at you, and other related subjects.
Something I've never understood about video games
Posted 3 years agoWhen you go to the screen to get your password, then immediately check the password screen again after having done nothing, and are given a totally different password.
What I hate most about Youtube
Posted 3 years agoToo many of the ads are too damn short. They often fail to compellingly convey what they're trying to sell, and just get on my nerves because of how much of a waste of time they are as a result. If you're going to give me a commercial, then at least make it long enough that I can either gather enough information from it to actually care about the product you're selling, or if I'm not interested in the product then have it still be long enough that I can take a minute or two to step away, use the bathroom, grab a snack, or whatever else I might want to do to settle in for watching my show. When an ad is only like 15 seconds, it achieves neither of these things, and just makes me want to skip it instead because it only serves to annoy.
My biggest problem with cooking
Posted 4 years agoI always overdo the sauce. Whenever cooking something, I always feel like I need to make sure there's enough sauce to properly spread over all the food, which always leads to me underestimating how well it might spread, and thus overcompensating with how much I need to actually use. Like just tonight when I made a dish using beef, noodles, rice, and assorted vegetables, and while it came out well enough, practically all I could taste was the teriyaki sauce I added to it.
Book spines
Posted 4 years agoI can't be the only person who actively inconveniences himself when reading to make sure my book spines stay clean of creases. By which I mean opening the book just enough to read it, even if that means sometimes needing to sit in awkward or uncomfortable positions for there to be enough light to read, particular the inner parts of the pages where there would otherwise be a shadow. It also makes buying used books difficult, as if the previous owner didn't take similar care of it, then I don't consider it to be in buyable condition.
Dear Atlus

Pokemon Unite Pay-to-Win?
Posted 4 years agoI don't get it. I've heard people say it's pay to win, but from what I saw in the shop, nothing that you can spend real money on helps you win at all. It's all just cosmetic stuff, and new playable Pokemon. Everything else requires in-game currency that's acquired by playing the game, not spending real money. And even regardless of that, I haven't paid a dime towards any such thing, and not only do I have over a 50% win rate over the course of over 150 battles, but am regularly the team's MVP (or if not, the runner up), so clearly any pay-to-win isn't that significant of an issue.
Question for the Hard Vore Peeps
Posted 4 years agoIs anybody into the idea of just not finishing their prey because it's gross? I'm not, but it's a scenario I've wondered about, and wondered if there are people who are into it. Going through all the work to capture, prepare, and cook your prey, only to then take a few bites and be like, "Egh, this isn't very good," then just throw the rest away, or maybe feed it to a pet. I mean, it's realistic that every meal you ever eat isn't going to be very good, so why wouldn't the same ever happen in a vorish world?
Biggest problem with modern game development practices
Posted 4 years agoIf game developers want to deliberately release unfinished games because they have access to patching then that's their immorality, but what's that going to do to these games and their legacies when younger gamers decide to play them years after the consoles these games are on no longer have internet access, and therefore cannot receive patches?
