Stole this from Josh, because deer love you.
Posted 9 years agoWhere are you staying?
Marriott Marquis.
What day are you getting there?
Probably Thursday. This will be my first time going on a drive of this length, so timing my be uncertain.
How are you traveling?
Read above.
Who will you be rooming with?

What is the best way to find you?
Twitter: Fractal_Edge Telegram: FractalEdge
You could probably also just follow the dude drunkenly trying to dance in con spaces.
Are there any panels you might be attending?
That's a very vague maybe. It'd have to be a pretty neat panel.
What do you look like?
I'm 5'10'', 170 lbs, clean-shaven, with dark hair and eyes. Notable features include several tattoos on my arms and torso. If it helps, I've been told I look like a mix between Michael Cera and Josh Peck. Additionally, there are photos of me in my scraps.
Will you be suiting?
I may possibly masquerade as a dog for some time.
Do you do free art?
Possibly, but I may be too busy, or whatever, If you're chill, I may do something for you.
Do you do trades?
That sounds doable, give or take the time invested.
Do you do badges?
I can try, no promises.
What is your gender?
I'm a buck.
How tall are you?
5' 10"
Do you have a partner/mate?
lolno
Can I talk to you?
Absolutely, I may be prancing around, but flash a light at me, and I should stay still.
Can I touch you?
Use common sense.
Can I visit your room?
Probably not. Roomies are the co-judiciaries.
Can I buy you a drink?
Just leave the GHB in your purse.
Do you accept gifts?
I may be uncomfortable to accept one, but no offense is meant, I'm just unaccustomed to that.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Depends on context. Body language speaks volumes.
Are you nice?
I hope so! Hit me up and decide!
Do you have an artist table?
Negative.
Will you be going to parties?
A better question is how much time outside of parties will I spend?
Will you be performing?
An act of public intoxication? Yeah, it's going to be riveting, just you wait.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Speak in another language, or loudly call me by name, "deer", or anything like that.
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
Parties, most likely.
What/where will you be eating?
Anywhere, really. Booze is the most important foodgroup.
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Depending on context, sure.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Probably.
Can I draw in your sketchbook?
Most likely.
Can I take your picture?
Depending on context, yeah.
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
Have as much fun as I did at MFF. Or more.
=D

MFF Meme Time, Folks
Posted 10 years agoDoing this because I'm stoked as hell. The days preceding this are going to be agonizing.

What day are you getting there?
Dec 2nd, at night.
How are you traveling?
Aluminum tube with wings.
Who will you be rooming with?
and
, among others, I figure.
How is the best way to find you?
Telegram me FractalEdge. Please don't open with dick pics. Alternately, you can probably identify me by the stuffed deer with the pink bandana chilling on my shoulder, or my poofy tail.
Are there any panels you might be attending to prepare for this meeting?
The panel on how to get away with ghosting AC sounds riveting.
What do you look like?
Average height, dark brown hair cut short, hazel eyes, ambiguously Meditteranean. I've been told I walk like I'm on my way to beat someone's ass. I often wear snapbacks and other swagfag stuff. My bro, Puff, insists I look like a mix of Josh Peck and Michal Cera, which I guess means I'm pretty much the biggest pussy.
Will you be suiting?
I totally might.
Do you do free art?
Give me booze.
Do you do trades?
Totes McBoats.
Do you do badges?
I don't plan on carrying around the best materials for that stuff, but if you want to run a badge I draw out on sketch paper to a laminator, and I have the time, sho', mang.
What is your gender?
I'm a buck.
How tall are you?
5'10''.
Can I talk to you?
Please. I like people. They have faces. Faces are the shit.
Can I touch you?
I'm alright with quick hugs and the sort. Fist-bump me any day of the week. I'll give you a warning if you get too handsy, but continue trying any funny business without my consent, and you may have to pick your jaw out of a dumpster.
Can I visit your room?
Chances are, you'll end up partying there anyway.
Can I buy you drinks?
Absolutely. Don't expect it to be a ticket to the bed, but if you do me the courtesy, I'll definitely get you back on some art, and have a nice chat.
Can I give you stuff?
I don't necessarily know why you would, but I'm not totally opposed to it. Just please don't be offended if I decline, I like to travel light.
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
See the question about touching.
Are you nice?
I like to think so. I'm not a hugbox, but I'm pretty extraverted, and I love meeting new people.
Will you be going to parties?
This con will be one, contiguous party.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Shout "Edge", "Fractal", "Deerboy", "Faggot", or just start speaking another language, and my head will probably turn.
Where will you be most of the time during the day/s?
Drinking, cajoling, dancing, all over the place.
What/where will you be eating?
Cigarettes are a food group, right?
Can I come with you for food/fun/etc?
Knowing you prior to you asking is a prerequisite, usually.
Can I look in your sketchbook?
Yes, Sir.
Can I draw in your sketchbook
I'll designate pages for it, yeah.
Can I take your picture?
With my consent, sure!
What's your goal(s) for the con this year?
Not get kicked out of any hotels, and kiss all the deer on the noses. Also, expand my social circle, and go hard.

An Important Conversation that Needs to Happen in the Fandom
Posted 10 years agoIn my experience in this fandom, there has been a problem that no one wants to talk about. It's a harsh reality, but our community is not free of HIV.
Education and transparency are the best weapons we have to combat further loss and suffering, and I'm happy to share a group dedicated to providing resources and support to HIV+ individuals, and anyone looking to further educate themselves on the nature of the virus within our community.

What Would You Like to See me Draw?
Posted 10 years agoI'm curious as to the interests and desires of my followers, and would like to know the kind of things you'd like to see me do more of.
These aren't requests of specific characters and the like, but I will take note of input toward viewer satisfaction. General concepts like "anatomical studies" or "vehicles" would be better than "my OC flying this plane, etc". This, of course, also applies to NSFW.
Anyway, if you have a minute out of your day to contribute your insight, it would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Would Anyone Still Be Interested
Posted 10 years agoI've been trying to avoid charging for quite a while now, but the amount of time I invest into doing requests is getting sort of significant on my end. The way I'm looking at it, I'm probably not going to continue doing requests, for a number of reasons, and I'd like to know if any of my followers would still be interested in my art if I started doing commissions?
Price-wise, I'm thinking of starting off with $5 busts and the like, fully-colored. If I go ahead with that and get a positive response, then I think I'll transition to putting out a pricesheet.
I don't want anyone to get the impression that I'm selling out, but I simply invest too much time into this.
Please take a moment to share your thoughts. Honesty is greatly appreciated.

Posted 10 years agoToday marks my first full year being a part of the furry fandom.
It's been a pretty awesome experience thus far; the people I've met, the places I've gone, and things I've done have all been a joy to experience, and I look forward to my future as a part of this strange community.
Here's to the future, and whatever experiences it will bring.

My Friends Did This, So why Not...
Posted 10 years ago1. Do you snore?
No.
2. Are you a lover or a fighter?
I haven't been in a serious fight in years, but I've never known love, so I guess neither?
3. What’s your worst fear?
Everyone hating me.
4. As a kid, where you a lego maniac?
I was pretty fond of them.
5. What do you think of “reality” tv?
It disgusts me. Total waste of time. I don't watch TV, in general.
6. Do you chew on your straws?
Yes.
7. Were you a cute baby?
About as cute as any other (which is to say, not much).
8. Is the single life for you?
I'd like to be in something serious. Then again, I enjoy debauchery.
9. What colour is your keyboard?
Silver, with illuminated lettering.
10. Do you sing in the shower?
Frequently.
11. Have you ever sky-dived before?
No, though I've been thinking about it.
12. Any secret talents?
No overt ones to begin with.
13. What’s your ideal vacation spot?
A huge city, with a good friend or two. Maybe Shanghai or Tokyo.
14. Can you swim?
Not outstandingly well.
16. Have you seen the movie "Donnie Darko”?
Yeah, it's great.
17. Do you care about the ozone?
Of course I do.
18. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
I can google that shit.

I won't even try.

Quite a few times.
21. Are you a single child?
No.
22. Do you prefer electronic or manual pencil sharpeners?
Electronic.
23. What’s your stand on hunting?
I disdain it. Hunting for sport is cruel, and not much of a challenge. If someone actually subsists off of it, I can't judge them, but it's something I'd really prefer not to be exposed to.
24. Is marriage in your future?
Very unlikely.
25. Do you like your handwriting?
If I place great effort into it. Ordinarily, no.

To a friend, in jest.

Showers.
38. Is Santa Claus real?
What kind of question is that?
39. Do you like having your neck kissed?
More than many things in this world.
40. Are you afraid of the dark?

No.

Just Thought I Should Say...
Posted 10 years agoI Can't Draw Anymore
Posted 10 years agoSo, I was going to do a piece of gift art for my 200th watcher, but for the past week or so, my tablet has been inoperational. I hadn't annotated it before, because I'd hoped to have resolved this problem by now. It's now becoming clear that this is not the case, so if anyone who may happen to read this can give me a hand, I'd appreciate it.
The issue is that when I apply pressure with the stylus, the motion will track, but it makes the stroke slowly, to the point of inutility. Ordinarily, I'd just amend this by restarting the Wacom service on my computer. However, when I do that now, it ceases to track even the motion of the stylus.
I've tried rebooting Windows and reinstalling the drivers, to no avail. I don't want to think there's a corrupted registry value, or something like that, and although I believe I have a warranty, I'd prefer to just get this one working again, if possible.
Anyway, if someone can help that would be awesome.
Also, thanks to my 200th watcher,
I appreciate the support.

Posted 11 years agoI suppose I should make a formal notice of this, for concision's sake, though I've been inactive as far as requests go for some time.
I've resolved that I need to amend some flaws in my technique, as not to continue embarassing myself with a reputation for mediocrity.
It's best that I take the time to work on some personal projects and experiment with my problem areas before I continue to take requests. Hopefully, this will not take long, and I will be able to provide work of higher quality than I have in the past.
I will continue to submit work completed during my hiatus, but I'd like to clarify that the likely compromised quality will be a result of my experimentation, and not necessarily reflective of my basic ability.
Cheers.

I Need a Change
Posted 11 years ago...of journal posted to my profile. I'm tired of looking at the old one.
So, yeah, I have a new tablet, cool stuff. Working on an art trade, the rest of my requests that have been haunting me for a while now, and a gift for the bae.
I failed to realize all my buddies would be gone on leave right now, so I guess I'm spending New Year's Eve with the homies on Skype, sans alcohol, ni Nyquil.
Pretty good year, in summary. I hope to make the next one better.
I suppose for a New Year's Resolution, I hope to get roughly double the amount of watchers and pageviews that I currently have. Pretty weak, but I can't really set my expectations too high. Professionally, I have some goals set that should precipitate an increase in quality of life, so I have that to look forward to, and it would be hella dope to accrue the funds to order my fursuit at some point in 2015.
Things as they are, I have my registration for AC 2015 put in (went with supersponsor, because why not go HAM for one's first convention?), and I'm super-stoked to meet up with some super-swell homies.
I guess on the off chance that someone reads this, feel free to write down your New Year's Resolution, and what have you.

Well, shucks...
Posted 11 years agoSo, my tablet is muerto. I dropped it a couple days ago, and the sensor went out almost entirely, to the point of uselessness.
I ordered a replacement this morning, and it should get here by Thursday, but until then, no art.
#deertears
However, I see a golden lining in that I'll be making the transition from Bamboo to Intuos Pro. Hopefully, this will help me clean up my lines, and make my art a bit less meh.
Anyhow, that's about it. Deuces!

100 Watchers!
Posted 11 years agoI'm excited to have reached this point, meager as it is.
I've put in a fair bit of work these past 7 months, and to see the little improvements along the way helps bolster my resolve to continue improving as an artist. Every time I see that someone else has watched me reaffirms that resolve with the implicit statement "I think you can do good work". I only hope that I continue to improve, and will be able to provide people with better quaity artwork as my skill progresses.
Some cool individuals have crossed paths with me during my short time in the fandom, and I'm glad these past months have been so kind to me.
Digital art is still something new to me, as I've only been drawing since April, and drawing furries since that same time, so I have a very, very long way to go, but it's very encouraging to see people take interest in my work, and to anyone reading this, I thank you sincerely.
Here's hoping I can get to 200!

Posted 11 years agoWhy not? I feel like it today. I won't be around to answer until, like, 1600 EST, but I'll answer pretty much anything someone asks.
Request Queue Thing
Posted 11 years agoOkay, so I promised I'd put up this queue a couple days ago, but life decided that wasn't going to happen. So, without further ado, here is my request queue. Requests may not be completed in sequential order, but I'll try to work as swiftly as I can without compromising quality.

Doing requests again, anyone who's interested, hit me up.

Dead in My Tracks
Posted 11 years agoSo, due to the prolonged disappearance of the stylus to my tablet, I'm more or less faced with the eventual necessity to buy a new tablet, unless someone knows where I can find a compatible stylus online (I use a Wacom Bamboo CTL-470).
Tablets cost money, so unfortunately, it will be a bit of time before I have much in the way of functional capacity to continue producing artwork. So, I'm sorry to the folks still waiting on requests; I'll make replacing my tablet a priority, and get back to work as soon as possible. In the meantime, I can work with the thumbpad on my laptop, but it is exceptionally grueling and time-consuming, so please forgive me.
If anyone knows where I could replace merely the stylus, itself, your aid would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I went ahead and ordered a replacement, it should get here in several days.
