I just... I just really wanted to say thank you to you guys.

Alright.
As some of you may know, I'll be graduating from college in a few days. Or so I'm hoping, anyways. I just gotta pass my up coming finals (which I should be studying for, by the way), but other than that...
I'll be graduating with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Definitely an odd major for someone to have on an art website, huh? I mean, what's a Biochemist going to do with a couple of drawings?
I'm really surprised that I stayed on FA for so long, especially considering that I'm not really an artist like most of you. I've been on FA for about four and a half years (my join date was September 11, 2007) and I honestly... I thought that college would just eat up all of my time and I would never really have any time to do things on the internet like this. But here I am. Still not exactly an artist or anything like that.
And I'm really not much of a furry, if you think about it. It's kind of strange that I ended up staying here.
It's been a real tough four years in college. I wish I could say it was going to be over, but I'm going back to college next year. Another whole year. I'll be in a Biotechnology Certificate Program, which will be giving me lots of valuable lab technique practice and also increase my chances of getting a job, but I really wish I could go out right now and try and find a job, but you know.
Anyways, I just really want to tell you guys... Thank you. Thank you for watching me, faving my art, commenting, and just sort of supporting me without even realizing it. I'm grateful for all the friends that I've made here. I'm sad about the friends that I've lost touch with, as well, but everyone I've met has had a bit of influence in my life, no matter how big or small. Also, I'm sorry. I wish I could have been a better person to you all.

I was looking back at my old journals on dA and, gosh, I feel kind of stupid about the way I typed and answered things. So I have decided to go back and re-answer one of those question things that I took so long ago (About three and a half years ago).
Also a quick note, I've been using less emotes than I did before. Frankly, I'm kind of embarrassed of using ones like ^^;. I'm not saying it's bad to use 'em, but I dunno, I think I may have over used them.

My Summer Vacation by Furrygami

This is my report about what I did during my summer break. I'd type this out as if I were a little kid with all the grammar and spelling errors, but I don't think I could do that.
To all those who don't want to read and want a short version...
tl;dr
I had a great summer, but school is tomorrow. :c
And here's the full version~
Okay, so...
I know a number of you guys are and probably have been in school for a while now. Well, Fall quarter is just about to start for me, so I figured, why not remember a few things that happened over my summer.
Let me start off by saying that I've never had a long summer break in college because I was taking summer classes. I've had 11 straight quarters of school and that takes a huge toll on you. And as you can imagine, I've taken a bunch of classes, but I still need one more full year of college before I can get my B.S. degree in Bio Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. This quarter, I'm starting off with two upper division chemistry classes, two upper division math classes, and an upper division philosophy class and all I can say is bring it on.
Anyways, back to summer!
Right after the spring quarter ended, my family took a trip to Universal Studios in California. It would have been nice to take a plane to Florida and see all the new things, like Harry Potter, but a car ride over to our Universal Studios wasn't that bad. Two days over there and we pretty much went to every attraction at the park! My favorite one would have to be... The Studio tour, where you get driven around to a bunch of different sets and such~ It was awesome, but the line for it was horrible because these people kept singing horribly loud and horrible songs while waiting in line. Also, some guy passed out on our cart, so that sort of was interesting.
Here's a few funny things that happened over there. I was forced to go into the Haunted House of Horrors, a walk through haunted house thing, by my family. Not only that, but I was forced to go in front. I am horrible with scary things, but none the less, I was still in the front. My mom was pretty much holding on to my bag the whole time. The best part was that the spooks hardly ever went after me. We were walking behind another group, so they went after my family who was trailing a little behind~ Joke is on them~
There was also the Jurassic Park ride! You know, the one you get wet on. Well, guess what? My parents brought along water proof ponchos! What's the point of going on a water ride if you don't want to get wet? Anyways, my mom, dad, brother, and sister (I think my sister wore one?) all wore ponchos on the ride and we got looks, I'll tell you that. We went on the ride and surprise, surprise, I hardly got wet~ Amazing wasn't it?
But there were also some times I wanted to rage at my family for their decisions. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my family, but they can just get on my nerves with what they choose to do. I usually just bear with it.
After coming back home, guess what? It was back to school for me! Yeah, I know. That would make it 12 straight quarters of college, but actually... I was at school because I had to drop my sister off for her summer classes and I was off to help my professor with his summer research lab projects! It's not a class. It's more like a volunteer sort of thing. Anyways, I had this professor for plant biology and he did these research projects, which vary so I won't bore you with all of them. What I did in the lab, along with, maybe, six other people (two of them were going to be seniors in high school, two were going to be juniors in college) was work on, first, sequencing our own genomic DNA, second, sequencing different plant sample's DNA, and third, using a next generation sequencer for sequencing bacterial DNA. It was great! I could go whenever I wanted (although I went everyday at 10 am because my sister had class at that time), I could leave anytime I wanted (although I usually left at the same time my sister got out of class), and I could pretty much do anything I wanted while I was waiting for things to get done (like play my DS and watch game shows)!
I got a lot of laboratory experience during my time working there. Being able to put that I successfully used a Next Gen Sequencer on my resume is great, according to my professor. I also made some new friends during my time there. We had some great times and I miss doing that. In the end, we finished about the second week of August, which gave me time to spend the rest of my summer a different way. But before I get into that...
In the middle of July, guess where I went? I went to Arizona~ To see my girl friend, Brittney~ You would not believe what I had to go through to convince my parents to let me fly out there all alone. This was my first time doing something like this. I don't believe I've ever had a sleep over at someone else house without my parents (staying over at relatives with parents is pretty much the only sleep over thing I ever got to do). But my parents can be really protective and paranoid. So it's a miracle that I got to do that. Anyways, I stayed at Brittney's place for a week. It was great. I got to see the Grand Canyon! It was scary! I kept thinking that someone, or me, was going to fall over the edge to their death. Yeah, I'm paranoid too. Brittney also brought me to one of the highest (if not the highest one) peak in Arizona on a ski lift! I never went on a ski lift before, so I was scared too. And, my gosh, going down the ski lift was even scarier than going up. Oh yeah, I got high in Arizona, that's for sure. I got to try things like a Navajo Taco... I got a huge fright when we went driving along a mountain side cause I kept thinking that the car was going to go over the edge and fall (I bet you can tell that I have this thing about falling over really high places)... We also went to a ghost town over there... Creepy ghost cat... The only regret was that I didn't get to stay longer. Ahhhh, a week is just not enough.
Well, after all that's said and done, it was back to the lab and then the lab ended and then it was finally summer break~ I... Didn't really get to do everything I wanted over my summer break. I wanted to go paint balling, go to the beach, go to the junk yard, go gamble, make some nice artsy things... Just so much stuff I didn't get to do! I did get a game that I've been wanting to play for a while though~ Persona 4. I still haven't beaten it, which is a shame since summer is done, but I'm not giving up on it just yet! I spent some nice time playing games on my computer and chatting with friends~ Made some awesome, new friends a little late into the summer, but still, they're pretty cool~ I didn't get to hang out with my friends as much as I wanted to. I did go visit my best friend in Berkeley and we had a blast trying to get free stuff. I hardly got to spend time with a few of my other friends, but I guess that's how it goes. Oh yeah, I also got to stream a few times! That's great~
Well, school starts tomorrow and as you saw, I have a full plate this quarter. Hopefully, I can still make some time to art, but if I don't, I hope you guys will understand. And to all those who actually powered through all that, thanks~ Gosh, I spent almost an hour typing all of this out.
And I just want to end by saying, this may have been one of my best summer vacations yet.

I could go whenever I wanted (although I went everyday at 10 am because my sister had class at that time), I could leave anytime I wanted (although I usually left at the same time my sister got out of class), and I could pretty much do anything I wanted while I was waiting for things to get done (like play my DS and watch game shows)!
I got a lot of laboratory experience during my time working there. Being able to put that I successfully used a Next Gen Sequencer on my resume is great, according to my professor. I also made some new friends during my time there. We had some great times and I miss doing that. In the end, we finished about the second week of August, which gave me time to spend the rest of my summer a different way. But before I get into that...
In the middle of July, guess where I went? I went to Arizona~ To see my girl friend, Brittney~ You would not believe what I had to go through to convince my parents to let me fly out there all alone. This was my first time doing something like this. I don't believe I've ever had a sleep over at someone else house without my parents (staying over at relatives with parents is pretty much the only sleep over thing I ever got to do). But my parents can be really protective and paranoid. So it's a miracle that I got to do that. Anyways, I stayed at Brittney's place for a week. It was great. I got to see the Grand Canyon! It was scary! I kept thinking that someone, or me, was going to fall over the edge to their death. Yeah, I'm paranoid too. Brittney also brought me to one of the highest (if not the highest one) peak in Arizona on a ski lift! I never went on a ski lift before, so I was scared too. And, my gosh, going down the ski lift was even scarier than going up. Oh yeah, I got high in Arizona, that's for sure. I got to try things like a Navajo Taco... I got a huge fright when we went driving along a mountain side cause I kept thinking that the car was going to go over the edge and fall (I bet you can tell that I have this thing about falling over really high places)... We also went to a ghost town over there... Creepy ghost cat... The only regret was that I didn't get to stay longer. Ahhhh, a week is just not enough.
Well, after all that's said and done, it was back to the lab and then the lab ended and then it was finally summer break~ I... Didn't really get to do everything I wanted over my summer break. I wanted to go paint balling, go to the beach, go to the junk yard, go gamble, make some nice artsy things... Just so much stuff I didn't get to do! I did get a game that I've been wanting to play for a while though~ Persona 4. I still haven't beaten it, which is a shame since summer is done, but I'm not giving up on it just yet! I spent some nice time playing games on my computer and chatting with friends~ Made some awesome, new friends a little late into the summer, but still, they're pretty cool~ I didn't get to hang out with my friends as much as I wanted to. I did go visit my best friend in Berkeley and we had a blast trying to get free stuff. I hardly got to spend time with a few of my other friends, but I guess that's how it goes. Oh yeah, I also got to stream a few times! That's great~
Well, school starts tomorrow and as you saw, I have a full plate this quarter. Hopefully, I can still make some time to art, but if I don't, I hope you guys will understand. And to all those who actually powered through all that, thanks~ Gosh, I spent almost an hour typing all of this out.
And I just want to end by saying, this may have been one of my best summer vacations yet.

So
glamator suggested that I should do this and it has been eight months since I last did a journal over here, so why not? Though, I doubt many of you will read this.

1) You know... When I started here on FA a few years back and I found your page, I dunno. I think I kind of had a little crush on you after a while. You have some awesome art and you're pretty funny. You don't know how surprised I was to find out that you had watched me. That was awesome. It has been a while since I've really talked to you, so I won't be surprised if you never read this and think it's you.
Granted, I do hope you figure out this is for you. Still glad you check out my stuff once in a while though.
2) You make me angry. We have never even talked and you still make me mad. I do have a reason for this anger, but it's definitely an unjust one. Maybe if we did talk, I would have a more proper justification, but I don't see that happening any time soon. You do deserve a chance, but I don't see that happening right now. You're probably never going to see this and even if you did, you would never know this was for you because you don't even know that what you're doing is getting me angry and you're still going to do it anyways.
I would hope that you get hit by a bus, but it's not your fault, I suppose. If you knew the reason why, you'd probably understand.
3) Why is it that you're always better than me? You're a better artist, you've got a better personality and people want to talk to you more, and you're an all around better person than me. I kind of thought we were on the same playing field, but I was never in your league to begin with. I mean, you make me want to try to beat you, but sometimes it just feels like it's pointless for me to try. I also forgot to mention that you're better at gaming than me.
I'm not saying you should stop being better, it's just that your betterness is making me feel crummy.
4) You're a pretty cool guy. I wish I could be in your circle of friends, but I doubt that's ever going to happen. We've talked a few times, but after a while, you know, it stopped. I still love your art, though. And I'm glad you still look at my stuff as well. Too bad mine isn't as good as yours. When I look back at your art, you've gotten better and I'm jealous! Haha
Anyways, I hope you're doin' well and maybe hit me up once in a while.

5. My pants contain many objects in its pockets and belt loop stuff. Left pocket usually has: Cellphone, USB Flash Drive, a circle thingy, coins, Dialga's fin, and a few other things. Right pocket usually has: Keys to house and bike lock, and thumb band. Other pockets (Various ) usually has: My Wallet with money, stamps, cards (real and fake credit cards, gift cards, school ID, etc. ) and a picture or two. Left belt loop usually has: A keychain ring with Pikachu, Lion Eggy, Mushroom pad, Sudowoodoo pad, Pikachu wipe cloth, and Name keychain. Right belt loop usually has: My watch.
6. I have a white scarf and I usually wear it around my neck with the knot in the front. ,:3
7. I currently have four summer classes. Introduction to Sociology, English 1002 (Second required English class ), and Quantitive Analysis with lab. I don't like it. x3;
I wish I could relax during the summer, but my work is never done. x3
8. When I did this one before, I was pretty sure there was only eight... And now I see that my journal history says 10 Things? so I suppose it is supposed to have ten things. x3;
My memory seems to fail me. ,:3
9. I have a lady bug kite. I found it on the ground at high school one day. I freed it and took it out for a fly. Then I kept it... All this time. |3

Contest Comic Cameo!

Practically a whole year has passed since Meteor came into creation and it's time to... Thank my readers. A contest will be held for those who would like to make a brief cameo in the comic. More information in the journal.
Oh ouch... Braces tightened.
And Oh no! Finals are coming up!
Anyways... It's practically been a whole year since I created Meteor!
Wow that's long! For me especially!
I thought I would have given up a long time ago.
Oh it's been a very strange road getting here.
So many changes in plot, drawing style, and other things.
Yet... So many new ideas that haven't been drawn yet!
Time to get back to work though!
You know those consecutive comic updates?
It was my thank you for a year of reading sort of gift to you readers. x3;
And as an additional thank you gift to the readers...
It's contest time!
The prize for the winner?
A brief cameo by the winner's team!
Haha Just like a page or two cameo.
I dunno if that's a good prize or anything but... x3;
Contest Rules:
Theme- Burn! What would your team do if they caught another Pokemon burning things? Would they stop them? Give them a punch or two? Join them? Maybe sit back and watch the fire works? Haha It's up to you!
Who- Your Pokemon Team. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Team would be preferred, but you may enter with any Pokemon, whether they're on a team or not. I'm going to have to say no on using someone else's characters, though (Unless you have their permission or you guys are part of the same team or something. x3 ) . This is how you're Pokemon would react. And No, Micheal doesn't have to be the one burning things. |3
What- You can draw with whatever you want, write a short story, sculpt something, you can even have photos if you wanted! There are practically no restrictions here!
When- Since the cameo page is coming up pretty soon, I'll give you guys about a little more than a week from now. Deadline is... March twenty third! That's March 23, 2009 for you guys who don't like typed out numbers. And it's a Monday! x3
Where- Send your submissions to me in a note or a comment or whatever! If I don't reply to it, it means I didn't see it!
Disqualifications- Please keep it PG. I don't want angry parents after me. x3
Stealing someone else's art. It's common sense. ˛:3
It must relate to the topic. If you draw something that may seem weird, but you're able to explain how it relates, you're good.
Judges- Judges will be me and at least four other people. They will not be revealed. |3
Make sure you have fun, whether you win or not. :3
