Can't wait to see you all again for another fun furry meet!New Year's Furry Ball post-event report!
Posted 12 years ago2014 is here and the New Years Furry Ball has left it's mark on us all. We reported 211 attendees at the New Years Furry Ball but we forgot to count ourselves, and the remaining staff in that number. Our official attendance was a whopping 224 attendees! (After adding the staff and a few comped badges). That makes the New Years Furry Ball TFS's biggest furry event we've thrown yet!
And what an event it was. Apart from a few beer bottles breaking the entire event went off without a hitch. I personally had one of the best new years in recent memory, and I hope you feel the same!
At this point all of the staff are still tired but riding high on a successful furry event. We're taking your suggestions for what we can do to make the event even better next year here: http://thefurststate.com/forums/thread-3653.html or you can just reply to this post!
Our theme for next year will be taking us into 3015 with our paradoxical them of "The Future is Now!" Will robots enslave us all? Will aliens come and share their knowledge with us? Will we have tails yet? Only the future knows! Welcome to the world of tomorrow!
One thing that fell by the wayside this year I felt was the upkeep of the website. We got caught up with planning for the night that we missed our online presence. We hope to rectify this in the future events!
We are also going to be bringing out a printed schedule of events at the behest of the registration desk. Something we should have done years ago, but we haven't. So for those of you asking when dinner/dancing/anything else is fret no more as we have heard you loud and clear!
The New Years Furry Ball closed out The Furst State's 2013 year and the end of our charity collections for Faithful Friends! All in all we raised $1070 for this no-kill shelter in Wilmington, DE. Fantastic work!
The New Years Furry Ball financially did much better than last year. Keep an eye out for the financial report that I will be putting together soon.
One thing we did this year was bring on a ton of extra staff to help run the event and this was a wise move as we got some serious talent for the New Years Furry Ball. Let me show them off and embarrass them!
- Protocollie: My partner in crime and one of the most stellar folks to head an event with. We rocked it this year man and (as I have told him many times), I am totally stoked to rock New Years Furry Ball with you next year!
- Reaux: Our fearless marketer/fursuit lounge associate who braved the depths of the internet to tell people about our furry new years eve party! You made the internet abuzz with New Years hype and were integral in making the night rock as much as it did. She was also the one who made sure the headless lounge was ice cold and that the water never ran out. Give her props next time you see here!
- Sapphy and Fox: My love for you guys knows no bounds and I believe I can speak for all of us that you helped NYFB be the major success that it was. You guys spent all night behind that table doing everything from checking in attendees to selling all of our shirts! I can earnestly say that I can't wait to have you guys back again next year.
- Pandora: Our artist for the year! He's the one who designed our t-shirts, shot glasses, and those super nifty badges! Thank you so much for the awesome arts! The shirts were a BIG hit!
- Jasper / Draak / Miltonious: The video game department! Thank you so much for rounding up the consoles, rock band equipment, and games for the night. And thank you again for sacrificing your night babysitting those same consoles while our furries gamed the night away!
- Creete / Amaretto: You guys helped put on some extracurricular activities for the night, A nifty smash bros. tournament, and helped us keep the dinner line nice and orderly! We hope to give you guys more support next year so we can throw an even more kick-butt party!
- Razor / Kit-Drago / Irime: Our security and medical team imported from Furthemore! Thank you guys for giving your time to make sure my guys were safe. We didn't have a single incident all night but I felt tons better knowing you were ready.
- Kobura: My assistant and right hand man. Thanks for sticking around and helping me when I needed four paws instead of two. And for letting me drag you outside when all you were wearing were socks!
- BloodyMagus / Dixie Wolf / LupineSpark: The heavy lifting crew. Thank you guys for letting us use you and your vehicles to move our A/V equipment and fursuit lounge! You make my logistics a piece of cake!
- Embassy Suites: I want to give a big shout out to all the staff at the Embassy Suites who might stumble across this report. You guys let us party on your New Years Eve and for that I can't thank you enough. We're loud, thirsty, and furry and you took care of us with a nod and a smile all night long. We can't wait to come back next year.
- Our attendees: All of you. This event is the biggest and most expensive event that Furst State throws and without a doubt it is one of our most rewarding. I know we ask a lot for a one night furry party but I hope that each year we make it worth that much and more. Thank you all for coming and supporting us in our giant furry new years party. Here's to 2014!
As always if you have any raves, nays, comments, or complaints then please let us know! Your input makes our events even better!
We're going to rest our weary paws now begin gearing up for next year. We hope to see you all again for another fun and furry New Years Eve!

Delaware Furbowl L post-meet report
Posted 12 years agoDE Furbowl L brings an end to the 2013 year and marks the fiftieth DE Furbowl. Our over the hill theme brought 188 attendees!
It's been a fantastic five years and I hope the experience of watching the DE Furbowl grow from a small 12 person meetup to a monthly furry phenomenon has been magical for you as it has for me. Thank you, all, for helping us become the event we all know and love.
The future DE Furbowls are being cut back to every other month. This is to space out the events so we have more time to focus on improving the quality of the event in the downtime. It will also give the staff more downtime so they can be more on their toes ready to provide and awesome DE Furbowl.
Future furbowls will also be met with a new prices. We've been able to negotiate a flat $12 price for bowling at the event. This price will not fluctuate during the off season and will always assume you need shoes. We apologize but to keep our familiar $12 price we must charge for shoes. We'll do our best to keep this price structure as low as we can for as long as we can.
Throughout the past 2013 year there have been many folks who've made the DE Furbowl the great event it is. Give yourselves a pat on the back guys, we pulled off another fantastic year.
- LupineSpark: My always eager second in command. You cart around the DE Furbowl in your physics defying sedan each event and your engineering prowess has helped the headless lounge grow even more. Thank you for sticking with us all this time and making the DE Furbowl great.
- Reaux: Always with a smile on your face and always eager to lend a hand. Thanks for putting in the time helping promote the event and pushing the DE Furbowl to new heights.
- Zeestra: Our intrepid photographer willing to risk, life, limb, and her own sanity to get that perfect fursuit shot. Thank you so much for dealing with me and my ever present request for "five more photos!"
- Sapphy: Thank you for being our headless lounge champion! I sleep soundly at night knowing our headless is in gigantic capable dragon claws.
- Fox Tigernach & Draak: Each event you guys tirelessly attend to the info desk. Thank you for sacrificing your own furbowls for the pursuit of decals and stamps.
- Paintid: Our artist alley constable. Thanks for keeping the artists happy and the sketches flowing!
- Fawks Beaumont: You've moved across the country but I want to thank you for being a swell guy and a friend to the DE Furbowl community.
- Uruhei: Your badges this year were excellent and I loved how they were received!
- All the artists who come to our artists alley: I want to thank all of the artists who lug their goods out to the event and show their wares to our furry community each and every month. We hope you stick with us in 2014!
- You: To all of you guys and gals who come to the DE Furbowl month after month, to experience the vivid Furst State community and help us be the greatest furmeet on the east coast, I thank you. From the bottom of my tiger heart I thank you. You guys have made the past five years some of the greatest in my life and I have made so many wonderful friends and comrades. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the influence I've had from all of you. I might not always remember your names but I will never stop trying. I look forward to the future with this great community and the future DE Furbowls. Thank you.
Our next event: DE Furbowl 51 with the theme Black and White will be on February 22nd. Please stay tuned for an announcement thread, or keep your on http://furbowl.surple.com.
As always if you have raves, nays, comments, or complaints please send them our way. The DE Furbowl grows with your input.

Posted 12 years agoHeck yes! Our friends at the Mass Furbowl asked us to help promote their event, and us furbowl-running folks stick together! So here is all the info you need: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5390954
We don't have a Furbowl at all in January, so maybe you could head up to this one! Takes place on January 25th!

NYFB 2013-14 - Feedback wanted!
Posted 12 years agoWhat a night! We raised over $1000 for charity, had over 215 attendees (still need to calculate the exact number!), sold out of several sizes of t-shirts, and shaved a tiger's face! What more could you want out of a new year's eve party? :)
If you have any feedback, we want to hear it! Did you have a great time? Did something go wrong? Do you have any suggestions on how we can do things differently next year? Post your comments here, or on our forum at http://thefurststate.com/forums/thread-3653.html
We'll have an official event review up soon! Until then, our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who came out and made NYFB 2013-14 such a success! These events can't happen without the community who supports them. Thank you all, and happy new year!

Another good reason to buy a raffle ticket at NYFB...
Posted 12 years agoNYFB raffle: We're raffling off a PS4!
Posted 12 years agoThat's right, a Playstation 4! It was tough to get, but
camped out for it, and now we have it in our possession and ready to raffle off to you! Raffle tickets will cost just $5 each!
Only registered attendees can participate in the raffle, so make sure you buy your tickets now! http://www.eventbrite.com/e/new-yea.....1812313913b211
Pre-reg will be open until the day of the event, so you have EIGHT more days to buy a ticket. You can register on-site, but it will be a bit more pricey ($45 instead of $39). Getting your ticket early makes things cheaper for you and easier for all of us! So you should do it!

Can't wait to see you all again for another fun furry meet!Delaware Furbowl 49 post-meet report!
Posted 12 years agoNovembers DE Furbowl came and went with the mist. We had an attendance of 117. I apologize for the late announcement and RSVP being posted!
We've redone the headless lounge to make it larger and hopefully more spacious for our fursuiters! We've made the private changing room more prominent as well and we hope folks are taking advantage of it! We're contemplating adding more racks and other supports so keep an eye out in the future!
The arcade room at the bowling alley got a makeover and overall the space is much less cluttered. Also, we now have a pool table! We're still figuring out how to position the picture the best with this new layout so bear with us as we figure it out!
We'll be taking registrations at the DE Furbowl for New Years Furry Bowl. You can pre-register using a credit card at the information desk! You can also register online: http://thefurststate.com/newyears/
Alongside the NYFB announcements we'll be coming out with the Furbowl 2014 dates. We will be having five events in 2014. Stay tuned!
DE Furbowl L will be on December 7th with our theme: "Over the Hill"
As always if you have any raves, nays, comments, complaints then please let us know! Your input helps us make the DE Furbowl the best it can be!
Can't wait to see you again for another fun and furry night!

Central Furbowl #3 - October 12th, 8:15pm
Posted 12 years agoOctober 12th will be our third official Central Fur Bowl (Furble).
From 8:15pm until midnight, when the alley closes.
At Brunswick Doverama
1600 South Governors Ave.
Dover, DE 19904
302-734-7501
$3.99 Per game/Per Person
$3.49 for shoes
Or you could just come to hang out.
Please be sure to annotate whether you are bowling or not. If we get over a dozen bowlers, they'll provide us with a discount.
RSVP: http://centralfurstate.surple.com/
At the moment, fursuiting while bowling is a little iffy. **Suits are allowed.** There will be a league bowling at the alley until 9pm. We will still be able to go in early and see if there are any lanes available to us, but we won't be guaranteed any lanes until 9.

Delaware Furbowl 47 post-meet report
Posted 12 years agoDE Furbowl 47 was our biggest Furbowl we've ever had. Hosted over labor day weekend our Rave themed furbowl brought in a whopping 215 attendees!
I want to personally thank all of you (again) for coming out and helping make the DE Furbowl the greatest dang furmeet we could hope to host!
Our logistic setup and general space have in the past faltered when we pass the 200 attendee mark however this time we were able to mostly keep it under control!
However; if you're a fursuiter you undoubtedly got to know your fellow suiters a bit more personally. The furusit lounge was VERY cramped, and we are looking into building more shelving for fursuit bin storage. We are also pondering whether or not the private room gets enough use to warrant it's existence. Please bear with us suiters! We're trying to keep up with you guys! Entering into the fall and winter months we want to be ready for even more of you guys!
As you may have noticed we had a real press reporter at the DE Furbowl this month! She's doing a peice on girls in the furry fandom and had heard about us from some other furries and wanted to experience a real furmeet! She was writing for the magazine Bust.com and her name was Johanna Gohmann. We vetted her and had a staff member escorting her the entire time while she was at our event. We look forward to reading her article and we'll be sure to let you know when something comes out!
We introduced our two charity buckets this event. One for Faithful Friends, our offcial charity. They're a no-kill shelter in Wilmington and we're glad to finally give back! We also had a Furst State bucket so you can help us out financially.
Our bucket totals are as follows:
Faithful Friends - $93.42 + 2 Iraqui Dinars
The Furst State - $48.48
We hope to raise even more money over the next few events!
DE Furbowl 48 is on Sept. 28th and putting our brains to good use with the theme SCIENCE!
As always if you have any raves, nays, comments, ro complaints be sure to let us know! The DE Furbowl gets better with input from our attendees!
Hope to see you all again for another fun and furry night!

PS: The rest of the Furbowl pictures from Furbowl 47 will be up ASAP!
