FURSUITING will open for new suit orders in March-April
Posted 9 years agoMore details to come very soon, but we are planning to reopen for new fursuit orders in the timeframe of MARCH-APRIL, these will be for 2017 completions.

In short, we've been busy working, which has meant we've been neglecting uploading new photos on our online galleries.

Posted 10 years agoJust wanted to let everyone know although we will not be attending AC this year ourselves, the Fursuiting group photoshoot is still a go!
We encourage everyone to attend, we love seeing everyone get together, and we also usually use our group photos for our banners on social media and the website, so if you can make it please do! We will look forward to seeing all the Fursuiting.com suiters representing!

May 1st OPEN for new fursuit orders for 2016
Posted 10 years agoOur opening for new orders is FAST approaching on May 1st (only 6 days away!) We wanted to cover a few things we're doing differently this opening so everyone is prepared and knows what to expect.
Our order form is located here, the form will open on May 1, at 6:00 PM EST: www.fursuiting.com/order
We are only taking a limited number of new orders, and these will be for completion within 2016. We will be picking from orders submitted and only quoting those selected. Our goal is to take a small number of new commissions to help keep our wait times reasonable for the future. You can expect to receive a response from us within 5-7 days letting you know the status of your request!
This does mean that not everyone can be selected this round, but please don't be discouraged! We hope to open for new orders *more* frequently in the future, and just because an order is declined this round does not mean that you won't be picked at a future opening.
If your commission is chosen, please have a deposit ready to claim the slot as soon as possible (the minimum amount to claim a slot pending the full 30% deposit is $100 if you need a few days to gather the full deposit amount.)
Commissions taken this opening will be for completions within 2016, please note selecting a con on the form does not guarantee completion by that date. We use your con plans as a guide for the year, and if possible we try to time completion with your plans.

Thanks for your patience during this time.
Posted 10 years agoA little over a week ago Nick's mother passed away after a long battle with cancer. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, she was a very kind person and always a supporter of our business. Her most recent decline came after a couple months of improvement, so we are still in shock and deeply saddened by her passing.
We wanted to post this update so those of you who have been patiently awaiting email replies from us know that we are working on it as soon as we can. Right now we are juggling getting back into a work groove as well, so we may be more quiet than usual during this time as we work towards getting back into the swing of things and all caught up on emails.
Thanks again everyone for your condolences and patience, hopefully we will have all emails replied to by the end of this week and more work updates to follow.

Posted 10 years agoWe got a bit sidetracked by the holidays and hadn't had a chance to post photos of the rest of the new MWFF debut suits, but we plan to do so tonight/tomorrow. :) So watch for the rest of the new suit photos as well as the group photoshoot! Fursuiting.com Fall/MFF Update
Posted 11 years agoThe last few months have been incredibly busy, and as usual, we are working on quite a few new costumes at the moment that we're really excited to show once they are complete! Quite a few will be done in time for MFF as well, and with that + GOH duties combined, it's shaping up to be a really busy fall.
Next Commission OPENING Info:
We realize we did not announce the date yet for our next commission opening since our last round of commissions opened & closed in August. We anticipate we will open again for new orders between Feb-April 2015 for late 2015(if any slots remain) and 2016 completions. Once the exact date has been decided, we will post up here so everyone can prepare their artwork and get ready to submit to claim a slot on our list.

We've decided to focus on some aspects of suits/construction that aren't as often discussed, so we hope these will be informative and fun for everyone. We hope you plan to attend if you can! Just a few reminders, we handle orders "first come, first served." This means order forms submitted earliest that we quote and accept get priority on our commission list, provided a deposit is paid promptly (full deposit is 30% the total, but we don't mind a $100 downpayment to hold your spot pending the rest.) Priority on our list means we will try to complete your order by con due dates you select on our order form, if at all possible.
We don't accept orders for suits we feel won't fit our style. Receiving a quote back from us means your order is accepted just pending the deposit you will be on our commission list for a guaranteed 2015 completion.
If you don't have fursuit reference artwork yet that is OK, but we may recommend you get it within the upcoming months before we begin construction. In many cases we can still quote your order without ref art, other art and a thorough description can suffice for the quote. But we do highly recommend you get reference art in most cases.
We are also happy to do artistic liberty commissions as well. We can take charge of as much of the design as you like, and we can work with you to exchange ideas and input. :) In these cases concept artwork is NOT required. There are no discounts offered for art liberty costumes.

Please take note our opening date has changed: We will now OPEN for new orders on AUGUST 1, 2014 these will be for completions for 2015, with the earliest available slots for FC 2015 completion.
This is mainly because we strive to keep our estimates for on time completions and due dates as accurate as possible. After slotting in all commissions taken during our last opening we are FULL for the entirety of 2014 (barring any requests to move to later dates, etc.) Keeping our wait times reasonable and accurate has always been a priority for us, and we want to keep it that way.
Please note this does NOT APPLY if you are a previous customer seeking to order new suit parts. Previous customers are always welcome to discuss new costume orders with us as well. We are always open to commissions and requests from previous customers year round.
We'll be changing over our website to reflect the changes soon, this will happen in the next few days. :)

MFF 2013 Report & GOH 2014!
Posted 12 years agoAll I can say is WOW, what an amazing con! Can't even begin to list all the amazing people we met for the first time, friends old & new we got to spend quality time with, hotel and con staff, you all made it a great weekend. :) THANK YOU!

At MFF closing ceremonies this year, we were given the honor to be named as GOH for Midwest Furfest 2014! Huge thank you to MFF staff, we were really thrilled to accept! We'll be working hard on some unique fursuit panel ideas and topics you guys would most like to see us present and discuss.

If you are in the parade, look for the purple dog (that's me!) We'll be in the headless lounge and wait for everyone to gather. Fursuiting.com commissions CLOSED - info on our next opening
Posted 12 years agoNew commissions are now closed! If you received a quote from us and have not yet responded or confirmed with us that your deposit is incoming, your quote is still valid and you can still get a slot on our list for completion in 2014. (Keep reading below for more details!)
If you received a quote email from us, all we need next from you is a deposit to secure the slot. Most of you have already sent in your deposits, but if you do want to get a slot for 2014 completion and haven't responded yet, please let us know ASAP and get your deposit in so we are counting your order for certain.
You may have noticed we weren't open for new orders for more than a couple days, this is partly due to the overwhelming response received, and partly because we as always like to keep our commission list wait times reasonable.
For that reason, we will be reopening for new fursuit orders in Spring 2014 for due dates in very late 2014 & 2015 completions - these will most likely include con completions for MWFF '14 (will be very limited, probably only one-two more slots only), FC 2015, FWA, and other early 2015 con dates. I do not know the exact date in Spring 2014 we'll be opening just yet, but expect a post near the end of the year with the exact date, my estimate is we will choose to open around April/May 2014 for new orders.

If you received a quote email from us, all we need next from you is a deposit to secure the slot. Most of you have already sent in your deposits, but if you do want to get a slot for 2014 completion and haven't responded yet, please let us know ASAP and get your deposit in so we are counting your order for certain.
You may have noticed we weren't open for new orders for more than a couple days, this is partly due to the overwhelming response received, and partly because we as always like to keep our commission list wait times reasonable.
For that reason, we will be reopening for new fursuit orders in Spring 2014 for due dates in very late 2014 & 2015 completions - these will most likely include con completions for MWFF '14 (will be very limited, probably only one-two more slots only), FC 2015, FWA, and other early 2015 con dates. I do not know the exact date in Spring 2014 we'll be opening just yet, but expect a post near the end of the year with the exact date, my estimate is we will choose to open around April/May 2014 for new orders.

Fursuiting.com New Commissions Open Tonight @ Midnight
Posted 12 years agoJust reminding everyone that tonight at MIDNIGHT we will be open for new commissions. We've posted details below, so keep reading if you are interested in claiming a spot with us this round!

We will be accepting commissions for: Full and Partial Suits only.
(Small part orders are for return customers that are seeking upgrades/new pieces for their existing suit from us, we are open for these year round.)
Timeframe: New orders taken this round are for 2014 completions. We always have a limited number of slots for the most popular due dates, these tend to fill up the fastest. If you are seeking a completion guaranteed by AnthroCon, EuroFurence, FurFright, or MidwestFurfest, we recommend getting your quote in as soon as possible.
Our site order form will become active as soon as we begin accepting new orders at midnight. (It is currently deactivated until then, but you can read over all the info we ask for so you can prepare for placing your order) - http://lacy.timduru.org/order.php
We are currently FULL for the early part of 2014. There may be one slot open around the FWA timeframe, we will make a note of this on the form once we update it, but this slot would most likely be for an FWA delivery since we attend the con and can work up until the day we travel.

There was a little confusion last opening as to the midnight timing, so to clarify, this means the form will open up right after 11:59 PM EST, October 31st

This opening is for completions in 2014, we are already completely full for the remainder of 2013.
Certain dates in 2014 already have VERY limited slots, such as completions by Spring 2014. There will be slots available for completion by AC 2014 as well as other later con dates in 2014. There is an area at the bottom of the form for you to specify your con plans for 2014.
All new orders will be handled first come, first serve. We believe this is the most fair to everyone, and gives everyone a fair chance at a commission with us.
We will post up a journal reminder in October and just before we open up the form. :)

Posted 12 years agoCome join us for the official photoshoot for Fursuiting.com (Fursuits by Lacy & Nick) suiters at AnthroCon next weekend!
WHERE TO MEET: David Lawrence Convention Center Room #308 (Fursuit Panel Room), near the headless lounge
WHEN: Saturday July 6 @ 3PM
We will begin meet up in the room right after the fursuit parade ends, but if you aren't planning to walk in the parade, just come straight to the room instead! :) We'll also be in and out of the headless lounge which is just down the hall from the designated meeting room #308.

AnthroCon Artshow Partial Fursuit from Fursuiting.com VOTE!
Posted 12 years agoWe are planning on making an African Wild Dog partial fursuit to auction off at the 2013 AnthroCon Artshow.
We will only be doing the artshow partial if time allows after all commissions due for AC2013 are completed. This is a for fun project for us, it does not come before suit commissions that are guaranteed for AC completion. (You know who you are if we have previously discussed and guaranteed you for AC, then you are good to go.) :) At this point, it seems we should have time for working on the artshow partial, so we are moving forward!
Concept artwork and design for the African Wild Dog we'll be making was done by the incredibly talented artist
