Lights on: Kopkins (kinky artist!)
General | Posted 10 months agoI wanted to talk about a young artist making his way in the community:
KOPKINS
I've been driving my gallery to a more kinky approach and he's definitely going to help me about it~ You can already find one of his drawings in my gallery (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56863714/) and I can already say there's another one coming very soon! What he does is really worth checking, of course especially if you're looking to add new pieces to your gallery being commissions or access ychs at still reasonable price, but even if you don't hold a gallery, you may have been lacking new tasty stuff lately and you could find what you're looking for in his work. He's already becoming a reference around the chastity theme but I know he's going to work more bdsm themes in general. You will have more examples from me very soon :P
Of course if anyone of the people watching me is interested in having art with me, I will be working more of these subjects very soon: -chastity; -mutual chastity; -strapon; -latex; -null bulge; -sensory deprivation; -laboratory experiment. If those subjects interest you and you would want art with me, don't hesitate to note me, Kopkins is willing to work these subjects very soon!

10 ans et bonne année! (10 years & happy new year)

Second Life users: Aesthetic vs Jake
General | Posted a year agoYoo! It's been a while I haven't posted a new journal but i've got a question in mind for all the SL players out there:
Do you usually prefer Belleza Jake avatars or Niramyth Aesthetic bodies?
I've been reworking my avatar list recently - which you can find here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/51574704/
Male furries on SL are very often using the Aesthetic body which is very muscular in order to make big beasts and buff avatars. But the Jake body which is smaller but more accurate in terms of shape is also very popular - and is more recent and compatible with a way larger choice of cloth, accessories and modding options.
I've recently decided to work only with Jake avatars from now on but I wonder if I should change my mind and take some of my old aesthetic avatars back from the box considering how these are still quite popular today. How do you feel about people's avatars in general? this is my question
1 - I prefer Aesthetic because I want MUSCLES and BUFF and BARA BIG BEASTS
or
2 - I prefer more accurate body shapes, modern avatars and aesthetic is too big
Also aditionnal question (even for non SL users)
How ya feel about plantigrade furs in general?
1 - Anthros should have paws or 2 - I'm fine with classic feet on furs

General | Posted 2 years agoWhat are the weirdest things in furry design for you? I made my own list right under so you can let me know what you think about these :P
- 3 toed footpaws
- Visible small 5th toe on footpaws
- Horses with humanoid dick
- Double dick in general
- Non canine character with a knot
- Herms (sorry xP)
I have probably forgotten some so you can give me yours so maybe I can remember and confirm this would be weird aswell xP

The furry landscape is changing
General | Posted 2 years agoIt's been a while I had a feeling there are less interesting artwork than before, and the reason is simple: There are less commissioners that bring original ideas for the artists to draw.
There are less commissioners altogether. Because artists have chosen a different way to market their art. All have decided to highly increase their prices (honestly almost can't touch the least sketch below 100$ nowadays) and many giving up on the commission format in the favor of other (more lucrative?) methods such YCH auction and paid subscriptions (patreon etc).
As a result we see more of the biggest commissioners and less of newcomers, more paid access artwork and less original creations.
In my opinion price has just gotten too high for digital artwork, I do understand that artists have improved over the years but there is a true lack of veteran artist on the accessible commission formats (like colored sketches) which remains essential for a healthy furry community as it should still be the most demanded type of commission.
Another problem and not the least is twitter, more and more artists choose twitter as their main artist plateform and it is extremely bad (again imo) because it was NOT designed for it in the first place, i'm fed up of scrolling endlessely and having to dig in twitter to find artists that I don't know because they're not on FA or any other plateform which is dedicated to furry artwork, talking about plateforms, the furry community is not as big as we'd believe it is and there are too much of them, artists might be active on some, not on others, it is a pain in the ass to find out on which one it is the best to follow our favorite artists, or where they open their commissions slots, sometimes they post art on FA, but open commissions only on twitter or on patreon...
I believe Patreon remains a good way for an artist to sell art as it was specifically made for it, but for me twitter should stop being used and furry artists should stop disperse themselves in countless plateforms. I honestly can't wait for the day twitter will finally ban porn so that the furry community from there is finally coming home.
It's been almost 10 years since i've registered here and everything i've been talking about in this journal (or previous journal's subjetcs such as artists being particularly unprofessional towards their clients) was a reason that has gotten me less and less interested in having my own art, or in furry art in general, I have tried many times to increase my commissions per year but i'm also fed up of the prices that never cease to reach new heights everytime. I will continue to post art, but I will be way more selective from now on.

Profile update: Tagging 🛑
General | Posted 2 years agoFrom now on my most fetishist artwork will be tagged with the 🛑 signal to help people who visit my gallery to avoid looking at content that could be beyond their likes. Which fetish does it designate?
🛑 Medium fetishes: advanced bondage as sexual torture (SM, CBT, electro toys or racks, machines, sci-fi themes) anal fisting, incest and watersports (there might be soon).
🛑 Exotic fetishes: slime, corruption or brain washing, intrusion, modification, portals
Please note that my gallery will never contain extreme fetishes such as gore or excessively dirty stuff.
If you do not wish to see this sort of fetishes, see the signals and do not click on the tagged artwork!

Who's using the modern FA visual?
General | Posted 3 years agoJust wondering if I should swap to the new visual template or not, been using the classic for so long that the new one feels a bit confusing :P
I tried the new banner and it does look good on modern visual but less on the classic

Introducing the Artist Sigil!
General | Posted 3 years agoFor those who have been seeing my gallery since the beginning, you may remember i've been doing some kind of "artist rating" below in the descriptions, I've mainly done that to share the experience I had by commissioning the artist of the picture. I felt like that was needed to at least help those who're watching me to choose carefully the next artists they decide to buy art from because, this year for exemple, I ended up being very disapointed by most of them.
Not by the art itself, but by the way the client is being considered. Honestly i'm being tired of being the nice guy "hey there's no hurry take your time" etc etc. Personally when i'm being paid for something, I do the job now and not 6 months later.
I know how the art business works, I don't say the work has to be done as quick as possible, I just mean I would like the artists to at least respect reasonable delays so 2 weeks doesn't turn out to be one month and one month doesn't turn out to be 6 months and so on.
In order to deliver work in a reasonable delay, the artist has to work in good conditions and know how to organize the work he/she has to do.
Instead of bringing back the artist rating or the artist rating 2.0 i've talked about in a precedent journal, I've decided to go way further and to create en entire rating system with a method analyzing plenty points so that we can deliver a correct and non biased judgement on how was the experience during commissioning an artist, what was right and what was wrong. If the artist is reliable or if the artist is just going to scam you (allo
still waiting art since more than a year here).
The biggest problem that made me want to create such a system is that the customer is never protected when buying art on those sites, unless a proper invoice is sent via PayPal, most of the time you give your money and wait your art for a long time until the artist is done being busy, lazy, sick, depressed, art blocked, or whatever doing a two year long queue but still kept taking commissions slots.
I'm being rude, but i'm tired, i'm tired of waiting for the art i've bought. Where is my art? where did my money go? I'm sick, i'm busy, sometimes lazy, been depressed, and i've always done my job because I was paid to do it. Being an artist (and very often claiming being professional) doesn't mean the rules can be different. The customer respects the artist but it works in both ways.
The Artist Sigil project is made for everyone, to be used by everyone. Help everyone to avoid the scammers, pin a rating below your commissions (by following the method given in the dedicated accounts), you can even share this journal to spread the word, it's time we get a proper possibility to rate the artists so we can avoid scam or major disapointements. Commissions have been more exepensive than ever and we can no longer tolerate getting our money robbed so easly. Seriously i've been there since 2014 and art price went from the simple to the double. We pay, then we shall receive.
So to begin with an exemple, I may take you to my newest commission in the link below.
is the first artist to get a Sigil and he is also the first one to get a DIAMOND! Congratulations to him, reaching the diamond level is actually impressive, and it also means I highly recommand anyone to commission him because it was a great experience!

Anyone else having issues with Patreon?
General | Posted 3 years agoIt looks like Patreon has updated their user interface, but since then I can no longer look at the latest uploads from the artists i'm following because of the age restriction, content is marked as 18+, I click on the button to confirm i'm 18 or more and it keeps refusing to unlock the content.
Anyone else facing the same issue? or maye somebody found how to solve it?

If you follow my collection: profile fursona gallery upda...
General | Posted 4 years agoHello everyone! As you may have noticed recently, I have uploaded a new reference sheet for Silver, my fursona!
It's been so long I wanted to do it but I met several issues, mostly with work which forced me to slow down things with my gallery. Those things being partially fixed, I could finally do it once for all! And that feels refreshing because I felt that my fursona really needed it.
Fursona:
So here are the changes that became official:
- Silver now has the dual gold ear ring
- Now features a signature outfit
- Added nipple piercings (may not appear on all commissions)
- Body debuff
- Fantasy nsfw outfit
It's only small changes but it seemed very important to me that Silver needed to be physically debuffed, so many furry artists only draws big muscles and surely because that's what most of people want, but that's not how I thought Silver in the first place, the goal is that he needed to be like me and look like me, so he needed that adjustment for that matter.
I tend to leave the artists as much freedom as they wish so you may see more buff Silver in the future, but also normal sized from now on.
This adjustment was also important because I wanted to break the dominant image people seem to have of my fursona (and myself), most of people thinks Silver is a dom but this has never been the case. He's 50/50 versatile and I want to find that balance in my gallery.
Profile:
Minor changes here but still: I will display the artists I have choosen to support on Patreon. I've decided to dedicate a budget of 20€ per month for it, so here it is. The list is, of course, subject to change depending of the content/features artists are able to provide or if i'm forced to lower my budget (which luckily should not happen).
Just below it you may see an announce about Naughty Works, This is a small production studio's code name (my mate and I). So yea we are working on a game (maybe more than one) and we are looking to work with artists who would be able to handle character design, level design, pixel art and more or less sofisticated animation. If you know someone who could fit these criteria, please let me know! :3
Gallery:
- First of all, moving my old refsheet to scraps.
- All Second Life videos going to be reuploaded within the week (wohoo) (and new vids coming soon re wohoo)
- Added Sky x Addranor (Series) gallery folder
- Introducing Kink Zone gallery folder!*
- Return of Artist Rating - AR 2.0!**
* This will be where you will find my kinkiest stuff and yes I will need that folder because i'm planning to get plenty very kinky stuff for my fursona and gallery! I've got so many tasty ideas already, just gotta get those slots whenever it is possible now - this can be frustrating because between all the good artists I wanted to commission few years ago didn't reopen slots for a very long time (and few basically ignores commission requests because they've got too much of them).
** I thought as a necessity for me to bring back the artist rating in the description of my commissions because I see so much artist that you pay a literal fortune to get your piece of art but they let you wait for many months without giving any sign of activity, and i'm gonna be honest, there is barely anything I hate more than throwing money in the void of the nothing and waiting, i'm getting fed up and I judge that when you pay for something, you are in the right to expect to receive what you paid for in an acceptable delay. When i'm asked to do my job I do it now and not later, I don't see why this should be different for the artistic market. Also general commission prices have been rising a lot lately by consequences I believe it is legitimate to expect more profesionnal ethics and to be more critical about the service your get.
https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9979187/ This is a previous journal where I wanted to debate about the problem, I know it won't make much difference at the end but at least for those who follows my commissions will get to know who is trustworthy to commiss and who actually isn't. This Artist Rating 2.0 will judge new points in addition of the others. I have 3 commissions onging and you will get to see how does it look under these ;3
I think I've said pretty much everything, one last notice for our fellow Second Life players, my mate
greenword owns a small sim dedicated to all furries but also digimon/pokemon avatars, he's actually working on a new version of his sim which should be finished sometime next year.
To celebrate the new sim, I will be performing numerous DJ sets of my own through scheduled party nights (more DJs will be coming too). I will talk about it again later when I get more informations to share. Until then you may visit us at the Digimon World Lounge :3

Will be all for now~
It's been so long I wanted to do it but I met several issues, mostly with work which forced me to slow down things with my gallery.
Also general commission prices have been rising a lot lately by consequences I believe it is legitimate to expect more profesionnal ethics and to be more critical about the service your get.

video definition - what's best?
General | Posted 4 years agoHello!
I want to upload videos on internet but my videos are too heavy so I need to find ways to decrease the file weight but I don't want to sacrify the video quality.
So what does matter most?
render quality?
framerate?
definition?
what are your standards and minimum requirements on those 3 points to enjoy a video on internet?

Sex toys - help
General | Posted 4 years agoHello guys! This could be a pretty weird question all of sudden but I would like to buy some toys (prolly dildos and such) but since I know absolutely nothing in sex toys, i'm asking for your help:
Do you know a good website who sells nice toys (preferrably who won't try to rob all your money unlike BD) and who ships in most of EU?
do you have a personnal preferrence for certain toys especially and why did you choose it/these?
Thanks guys!

Do you feel enough protected as a customer when you buy a...
General | Posted 4 years agoTough question I got there since i'm going to talk about several subjects, have you ever encountered issues with an artist when commissioning him/her? If you are a regular commissionner then there are high chances that, yes, you actually met issues with certain artists regarding the following reasons:
- Artist is depressed and isn't in the mood to draw
- Artist is late on his/her schedule and increases delays, sometimes several times
- Artist does not want to finish your commission and considers to have worked enough for the price you've paid
- Artist does not update you anymore and seem to have disappeared, ignoring your messages
- Artist is delaying so much he/she actually forgot about you
- Artist is having issues irl and needs to prioritize more lucrative projects before a work you've already paid for
I could find even more cases but those are already enough, as a matter of fact, I know people who met all the issues above, including me, which led me to question myself about how much I am protected as a customer when I am buying art?
The answer is pretty simple: we are NOT protected. We may be, if we choose to commiss reference artists who managed to build up their own business, who wrote their own terms of service and all the conditions, who built themselves a working space and a working method to follow so the business is stable and efficient. But those are the successful artists you cannot often commission due to the extra budget it requires (for evident reasons) and popularity making it difficult to grab a slot. But for the wide majority of the community artists, they do NOT protect their customers. Most of the time buying art on FA just happens to be some small street deals without any conditions nor protection. And that is a huge problem in my opinion.
Why the artistic work should be considered differently from the other works?
Do you think it is normal in case of long (very long) delays to let the artist alone not to stress him/her? Aren't your superior(s) putting pressure on you at your work? Are you going to wait for your art forever?
How would you feel if the mailer of your amazon order suddently stopped updating the tracking and left you waiting for 6 months or just forgot about you?
What if you went to restaurant and you get only half your order because the chef was too lazy or depressed to cook all of it?
There are so many artists who expects to practice at a professionnal level, to live from it, but their obvious lack of professionalism and work method is going to stop them from reaching their goal, and the community is suffering of it because those who met problems with them will not likely throw more money to other artists who deserves their chance.
Artists are selling a product just like any other merch reseller (I am not reducing the value of art in that sentence, i'm just looking at things how they truely are), if they want to practice as professionnals, they MUST write their conditions, build a viable work schedule that gives manoeuve margin between work and personnal life, provide a good following and service, DEFINED delays! (just like any reseller shipping a product you have bought) and overall stop being lazy or moody and have a professionnal mindset and behavior! All of this so we, as customers, know what we are buying, why we are paying and know we are protected (delay expiration being a valid criteria for full refund towards the used financial structure to pay the artist in case of major issue) and be confident to have a good experience at commissioning the artist.
To all artist following a strict schedule and having solid methods, to all artists who truely protect their customers in the most professionnal way, big up to you!

How much are you willing to pay for a commission?
General | Posted 4 years agoI'm just being curious about the average money people would be ready to spend for a complete commission. More the time goes and more I see artists increasing their prices compared to when I joined this site few years ago.
I know the furries are a juicy market with people having quite well filled pockets but I think this shouldn't be a reason. If all artists does the same then commissioning a furry artist would become too elitist for most people (actually like what fursuits are). I know setting a price on art is very subjective, it depends on the level, amount of time spent on the work, but I can't help but telling myself many artist are just simply abusing (especially those who prefers quitting doing commissions to the profit of auctions).
So how much would you spend for a commission? Let's say a single character, colored, full shaded with med or complex background
Personally I could go up to 150 - 200$, again the price is subjective and i'm nobody to judge, but higher than 200 for a single character just seems to reach out of decency to me.
What about you?

You don't see enough of them
General | Posted 4 years agoFurries are a big community but surprisingly you don't have that wide range of animals you'd expect to see in the fandom. I mean if you type something in the research barr, it can be anything, the result will provide a large majority of canines, mostly wolves and huskies, many felines, being tigers, lions, many scales and a little bit of some other species like foxes, otters and equines.
Where are red pandas? raccoons? bears? rabbits? fennecs? weasels? even for the most popular species, you will notice that those are represended by just 2 major sub species only! dogs? cheetahs? jaguars? house cats? where are you?
We all have a reason for becoming a furry, but given the current repartition of species, I wonder if our choice got influenced by something or a reason? Something from long ago in our childhood?
Let's try to etablish some stats (there are absolutely no official statistics so I will try to do it myself from my own experience on the fandom - this is just a rough example therefore those stats are purely speculative and should NOT be considered as truth).
Major canines (Wolves, Huskies, Shep) 40%
Scalies (Dragons, Drakes) 13%
Foxes 12%
Major felines (Lions, Tigers) 10%
Equine/bovines (Horse, Zebra, Bulls) 6%
Lesser canines (common dog species) 6%
Otters 5%
Lesser felines (cheetah, lynx, bobcat, housecat etc etc) 5%
Other (raccoons, red pandas, rabbits, bears, weasels, bats, avians etc etc) 3%
Observation 1: Canines owns 46% of the fandom
Observation 2: Plenty awesome species owns only 3% of the fandom
Observation 3: 75% of the fandom are the same species over and over again
It's kinda obvious you haven't found furries totally randomly (maybe you did but I bet most of people didn't) so what did influence you so much that you actually ended up here? :P
I believe there could be a correlation between the fact that the most popular fursonas are also the most widespread animals at home just like sheps or husks. Is it your case?
Which animal(s) would you like to see more often on FA?

Music mood!
General | Posted 5 years agoI just love soooo much those kind of modern hybrid genres like Neometal, Rockstep and of course Bassmetal, the bassmetal is the peftect way to ally a speedy drum and bass rythma and the powerful guitare from metal. And guess what I found, a band that perfectly represents what I absolutely love in music! Here's some samples below, trust me if you love metal and electro, you won't be disapointed at all ;3

The furry commission grand tour
General | Posted 5 years agoAfter 6 years of watching artists on this site, I digged into my favorites and made up a list of few artists that've faved the most, so here's now my "grand tour" of all the artists I want to commiss in order to complete a good gallery. I don't know how many years it will take me but this doesn't look like the end of the world either :P
Note that I may commiss these artists more than once (as it is already the case for some) and that I may be missing a few. The list is not definitive either and I may add (or remove) names sometimes. You may also suggest artists that you like :3
