Welcome to the Artist Sigil Program!

The Artist Sigil Program was created for you to share your personnal experience with the other community members when commissioning an artist here at Furaffinity.
This way you may help any potential customer who would want to buy art from an artist you have commissioned in the past, weither praising for your favorite artists or driving them away from those you had troubles with.
It is pretty much inspired from the  TrustedArtists concept but targeted to an individual level and for the customer - instead of for the artist.

As a long time commissioner, it has been a while I felt something I would qualify as a major issue here in the community: I never feel enough protected as a customer.
Who never had an issue with an artist? Buying art that takes too long to come, or actually never comes, an artist that delays too much and doesn't update at all for months... Almost every single time I stress about seeing my money go because the service does not follow the expectations - especially when buying expensive art.
Of course the customer has to respect the irl conditions of the artist, but there are, in my opinion, limits not to cross - especially when the artist himself/herself says to operate as a part or full time professional (which makes providing poor service even less forgivable).

I do not rely on the TrustedArtists either: It's been barely used and pretty much inactive nowadays and belonging to such a group does not really attest of the reliability as this won't be updated if the artist decreased his/her service quality over times.

Being used on-the-fly under the submissions of those who chooses to participate, the Artist Sigil is by this fact 100% up to (submission) date and way more accurate than the TrustedArtists group, in addition of not being dependant of being updated manually by any group owner.
Remember when evaluating: This is NOT about judging the art or attacking an artist! This program's purpose is all about analyzing the service quality and sharing to the other users the experience you had with the artist you have commissionned. Stay fair in your words to help others the best!

How to use it? Follow scrupulously the method in order to deliver a fair rating and avoid any biased judgement.
Choose the adequate icon and put it under your submission description with a short message explaining the quality of experience you had by commissioning this artist, mention everything good and everything bad.
Any rating given without following the method or any rating based on criterias that are not included in the method may be refuted by the artist.

You may (you don't necessarily have to) attribute ONE joker point to the artist if you think he/she had forgivable circumstances for not matching a particular criteria. It cannot be used for Diamond.

Ranks:

RED: Avoid
ORANGE: Acceptable
GREEN: Good
SILVER: Professional
GOLD: Expert
DIAMOND: Genuine

Method:

RED SIGIL: Avoid
If an artist checks one of these points, he will automatically be RED.
(1 = RED)

- Artist has disappeared; did not deliver the work you have paid for
- Artist did not deliver 6 months after you have paid him/her (regardless of delays*) or 3 months after it was your turn at the waiting list (if there's one)
- Artist did not follow his own terms of service


ORANGE & GREEN SIGIL: Acceptable & good
(< 4 = ORANGE; 4 or > 4 = GREEN)

- Artist has delivered the work you paid for in less than 3 months after you have paid him/her (regardless of delays*) or 1 month after it was your turn at the waiting list (if there's one)
- Artist gave at least a couple updates before starting lines and gave another update when doing the coloring
- Artist has a clear list of commission type he/she provides followed by detailed prices
- Artist has detailed his/her terms of service
- Artist is easy to contact, being through dedicated plateforms or IM chats, and responds to the messages
- Artist often communicates about the state of his/her waiting list (if holding one) or often updates it if it's displayed on a profile page


SILVER & GOLD SIGIL: Professional & Great professional
In order to access the SILVER and GOLD sigils, the artist must first be GREEN.
(< 3 = stays GREEN; 3 to 4 = SILVER; > 4 = GOLD)

- Artist has delivered the work you paid for in less than 1 month after you have paid him/her (regadless of delays*) or 2 weeks after it was your turn at the waiting list (if there's one)
- Artist protects his/her clients by sending a PayPal invoice
- Artist provides flexible payment methods or allows multiple payment invoice
- Artist holds an external website to showcase his/her business
- Artist is present and accessible at numerous different plateforms or websites
- Artist remains accessible through a good offer diversity (commission types) regardless of prices


DIAMOND SIGIL: Genuine
In order to access the DIAMOND sigil, the artist must first be GOLD.
(1 = DIAMOND)

- Artist has delivered the work you paid for in less than 2 weeks after you have paid him/her or 1 week after it was your turn at the waiting list (if there's one).


* Excludes hardware failure
