I actually did some doodling this weekend! *triumphant pause* I finished an anthro pic and I'm about halfway done with two sketches, but I don't plan on uploading the finished drawing until I finished quite a few more... So I could use some advice on one of the WIP sketches. I'm fairly satisfied with the anatomy, but I was told that Fyrien's, uh... *cough* balls look rather awkward. x3 I've searched around for a few references on FA, but I haven't found much to go on besides a few delightful Narse pictures. I'm not sure exactly how I can improve on what I have, so I figured I'd ask for some friendly furry advice -- any recommendations/critiques? :3 I know there are a few awkward details about this pic since it's an unusual pose.

Well, since it's been a few months since I've drawn anything, and even longer since I submitted anything to FA... I've come up with an idea. More doodling = more activity. So even though I've been drowning in homework lately, I'm gonna make myself sketch stuff as often as possible, then go crazy submitting all the doodles! :D Normally I prefer to post finished work, but at this point, what matters most is submitting ANYTHING. Some of it will be yiff, but the amount depends on when and where I'll get a chance to draw. I'd rather not draw teh pr0nz in public. xD

What do you guys think? Insane sketch dump, or should I put some time and effort into making some finished drawings to submit?

Well I obviously missed a great deal of drama during the past few weeks. :/ I just now heard about Gizgiz... (yes, I've been very inactive >__>) I didn't know him very well, but he was one of my watchers and seemed like a really nice guy. It's such a shame to hear about tragedies like this, especially because you don't truly know what troubles someone is facing in person when you've only talked to them on the internet. His situation must've been really bad for him to do something so drastic... R.I.P. fellow feral furry, you'll be missed. <3

Just for clarification: Can anyone tell me exactly what he did? There was so much drama on his account that the admins blocked nearly everything, and the journals that supposedly explained how he committed suicide have been removed. :/ All I managed to gather is that he was involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler shortly after posting an FA journal that implied he was going to commit suicide...


Also, fuck trolls. Seriously. There are times when they're funny, but it's so fucking annoying when they take it too far. To the dickheads that trolled up the userpage of a dead person: Burn in hell. ಠ__ಠ

Well, my summer is officially coming to a close (my first day as a college freshman is tomorrow) and I barely managed to doodle anything during the past three months. -__- Normally I'd feel disappointed in myself for being a lazy bum and not finishing drawings I owe people who have waited MUCH too long, but I'm actually more annoyed at my laptop for being incompatible with my tablet's pressure sensitivity. I tried drawing last night on my desktop computer and for an entire hour after it started up, I had to deal with a horrible two-second lag whenever my pen touched the tablet. What. The fuck.

So basically, don't expect much artwork from me in the future. D: I want to draw, I feel like drawing, I -should- be drawing... but I'm not gonna put up with that aggravating bullshit from my computer. It's not worth it. So I probably won't bother to use it unless I'm in an especially masochistic mood, leaving the computer at my dad's house as the only computer available to draw on. And I only visit his house about once a month. :/

One option I have is uploading WIPs and sketches that I normally wouldn't post to FA to the personal website I'm currently developing. That way you guys can check out what I've been doodling and you won't have to endure 3-4 month periods of no activity before I dump a dozen drawings into my FA gallery. Good/bad idea?



I do have a few doodles I can upload now, so I'll do that this weekend if I have time. :P But for now, I'm focused on college. It's still so surreal that high school is a thing of the past and I'm now going to be a student at one of the largest universities in the country. Junior high and high school drag by so slowly, but in retrospect, it's like a speedy blur of awkward socializing and homework assignments. And now... college. o__o That thing that happens after high school, that you anticipate going to throughout your childhood... but it never really sets in that it's actually happening until you're literally days away from becoming a college student.

The good thing is, I'm relatively happy with my schedule. I have over two hours between classes for lunch -- perhaps I'll bring my drawing folder and actually doodle ON PAPER for once. >:3 I haven't done that in a while. Maybe my tablet being incompatible with my laptop is a sign that I need to draw more traditional art? Of course, I can't scan anything I draw on paper because my scanner is broken, buuuut we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.


Enough rambling for now. Anything going on that I've missed? I haven't talked to you guys in a while. :/

I just noticed the little update at the end of Dragoneer's forum post: "There are currently no plans to physically merge the FurAffinity.net and Furocity.com sites, and the two will remain functioning independently of each other. User accounts and submissions on one site will not carry over to the other site, and rules for submissions will be unchanged. Staff will be coming over and sharing resources, however." When I read the forum post a day ago, Dragoneer hadn't specified that stuff. He also referred to it as a "merger", rather than saying "FA and Furocity are joining forces, as it now says at the top of the page. -__- Message for Dragoneer: BE SPECIFIC when you post shit like this. He made it sound like the sites are merging entirely when they're actually just sharing resources. Derp?



Also, I need a good image-hosting website (something like Photobucket) so I can post images to the website I'm currently designing. :0 I used to use Filesmelt, until I realized that my submissions were being automatically deleted after a certian period of time.

I need a website that:
- is FREE
- allows me to upload adult (yiff) images
- won't delete my submissions after a certain period of time.

Anyone know of a website like this? Good image-hosting sites are so hard to find. D:

I don't understand the reason for this. FurAffinity is, in my opinion, the top furry site on the web by a wide margin. Ever heard of the phrase, "Don't fix what isn't broken?" I understand Dragoneer and the other admins plan to introduce a completely new user interface at some point this summer, but this merger caught me off-guard. I like the UI pictured in Dragoneer's journal and I think that's a step in the right direction, but... merging with another site seems like a backward step to me. D:

And that leaves us all wondering what to expect. Obviously some rules are going to be changed because both sites have different policies -- for instance, FA has banned cub art, whereas Furocity doesn't allow bestiality. I'm perfectly happy with FA the way it is at the moment (although I'm still not partial to the no-cub rule due to my strong opposition to censorship), but some of FA's rules will likely change when the two sites merge. I signed up to FurAffinity, not Furocity. I don't want Furocity's rules. >__>

There's also the question of what will happen to both sites' admins and members. Dragoneer stated in the announcement that he and Daemonshyai (Furocity's owner) will co-own the newly-merged site. That also means we'll probably be administrated by a mixed assortment of admins from both sites. And what about members who have accounts with both sites? Or two different users sharing a common username between the sites? I can guarantee the transition won't go smoothly because some things will have to change at the users' expense. Usernames and submissions will be modified, etc.... I can't imagine members of either site enjoying that. :/



There's a reason I'm a member of FurAffinity, and not a member of Furocity. I think this merger is just going to cause too much trouble, leading to negative results. I fervently hope barely anything changes, because I love FA the way it is. <3

First of all: FUCK MY WACOM BAMBOO GRAPHICS TABLET. I recently installed Photoshop CS4 on my laptop, expecting to finally get some artwork done for once... but when I connected my tablet up, I discovered that the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. It's because of a compatibility problem between Windows 7 and Wacom tablets, meaning that as long as my laptop runs on Windows 7, I can't draw with my tablet (technically I could, but not having pressure sensitivity pretty much ruins a good drawing). So I'm stuck using my shitty desktop computer with Windows Vista that takes 20 minutes to start up. >:| FUCKFUCKFUCK.


Also, does anyone know of a site I can use to create a free website? I made one about a year ago, but it doesn't allow much customization and I had to use an image-hosting website to post my drawings on the site... Eventually it just consumed way too much time and effort, so I gave up on it. -__- I'd love to be able to create a (FREE) website I can manage and post drawings to easily.

Wow, I write FA journals asking for advice way too often. xD I guess that's because you guys generally give me some good input. So, I have another problem that could use some attention: whether or not I should live on-campus during this upcoming year at college.


I've gone back and forth between excitement and apprehension at the thought of living on-campus. Now I'm just completely torn. I originally planned to live at home and eventually get a vehicle so I could make the daily commute to campus; however, about a month ago, I signed up for on-campus housing after my dad informed me that he wouldn't be giving me his old car OR any money to help with buying a car (despite the fact that he owes me $5,000 according to my grandparents' will). :/ I figured living on-campus would be more convenient due to not having a car, but the costs are staggering -- it's over $28,000 for one year. My scholarship and federal grants will provide me with $14,500 and the Obama Scholars Program will provide an additional $7,200 if I live on-campus. So basically, I'll have $21,700 for on-campus expenses and the other $6,000+ will have to be paid through student loans and work-study.

On the other hand, I still have until July 1st to file a housing exemption and live at home. I wouldn't receive any Obama scholarship money, but I'd still have $14,500 -- and because tuition and books only cost $10,400 total, I'd actually get over $4,000 -BACK- from my scholarship/grant money! But seeing as I don't have a vehicle... I'd have to take the bus to get to/from campus, and that would take almost an hour there and back. Therefore, I'd have to wake up early and I wouldn't get home until after 4:30 PM, making it more difficult to get a part-time job. If I live on-campus, getting a job will be considerably easier through work-study.


So here are my choices:

Live at home -- get $4,000 back from my scholarship/grant money, but have a long commute and less time to contribute toward a possible part-time job.
Live on-campus -- owe $6,000 in student loans, but live within walking distance of my classes and have more time for a job/work-study.


My mom is insisting that I absolutely need to live on-campus so I can apply for work-study and I won't have to take the bus, but my friends keep telling me to live at home because it's stupid to spend all that money just to live closer to my classes. I don't know what to do anymore. -__- HELP?

I'm now officially a high school graduate. :D My graduation ceremony was last night, and the entire experience feels so surreal. It's hard to believe that I'm completely done with public education, and that I'll be attending college in the fall. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN *faceplant*

So, after I finish up with the post-graduation parties and I've caught up on the many hours of sleep that I've missed... I'll have three things to do: 1) Start applying for numerous jobs. 2) Practice driving more so I can finally get my driver's license. And 3) Draw stuff! I'm hoping I can finally finish my to-do list and get started on commissions this summer. It won't suffice as a steady income, but I'll need money for college, and even the slightest bit will help. So expect commissions to open up later this summer, starting at $5 for the first few commissioners. :3

I'm proud to announce that I'm typing this journal on my brand-new fucking laptop! :D Well... not quite "brand-new", but close enough. We managed to get a slightly-used ThinkPad for only $250, and it comes with Windows 7 and all the Microsoft programs -- Word, Excel, etc. This is the first laptop I've ever owned, but I've been craving one for AGES. My old desktop is a Dell with Vista, so you can imagine how slow that thing runs. >__> I've seen snails run marathons faster. Unfortunately, none of my files have been transferred from my old computer yet, and that'll definitely be a long process... :/ And I haven't installed Photoshop or my tablet yet either. But considering how busy I've been lately, I doubt I'd have any artwork to upload. My Prom was two days ago, and this week is crammed full of finals and AP tests. But there's only one more month left of high school! SO FUCKING READY TO ESCAPE THAT HELLHOLE. :D

I still check FA regularly, so if you want to talk, feel free to message me. :3 I'll likely respond within a day, two at the latest. As for RPing, that actually requires me to sit down and put some effort into my reply, so it may take a little longer for me to respond. But I'll do my best to keep the conversation alive!


P.S. -- Does anyone want their character(s) to make some random appearances in my artwork? I have a few old sketches of M/M canines, but the only character I draw regularly is Fyrien. If you'd like to be paired up with him (most likely with Fy on the bottom), comment and give me a reference to your character. Keep in mind that it'd have to be a fairly simple design -- a normal-sized, male canine (either a wolf, or a dog that somewhat resembles a wolf, like a husky or a GSD) with no unusual anatomical features, like wings, etc. As for the fur colors, anything is fine. :3 As long as it's not sickeningly sparkledog-ish to that point that it causes eye cancer, I'll draw it.

So, a few developments regarding my previous journal -- "Need advice: How far is too far?" I figured it'd be easier to type a new journal about it instead of replying the same thing to every comment. And thanks to everyone who commented, I was really surprised by how many people took the time to read that dramatic mess. You guys rock. <3

Basically, I told my friend that I'd prefer not to have physical contact while he's dating someone. I'd feel extremely guilty doing anything sexual with him while he's in a relationship with someone, not to mention another friend of mine. I've also determined that I'm just too uncomfortable with the prospect of experimenting with my best friend to go through with anything like that. :userblackwolf89: phrased it nicely on my previous journal -- I think of him more like a brother than a best friend. My best friend is straight and he's currently in a year-long relationship with a girl he absolutely adores. I've never seen a more randomly perfect couple. xD Yet ever since I came out to him (about a year ago), I've been getting some subtly sexual signals from him. Immediately after I told him I'm gay and showed him some of my M/M yiff drawings, he asked if I'd drawn our characters together and mentioned he wouldn't have minded if I had. At the time, I assumed it was just his way of adjusting to my homosexuality (and I had suspected he'd think I was attracted to him in some way... that was actually a big fear I had about coming out to him). He also claimed he's 25% gay (or half-bi) and would consider performing gay acts in the future, despite being almost fully attracted to girls. He quoted me, saying, "Everyone should have a gay experience at least once in their lifetime."

About a month later, I spent the night at his house and we went swimming the next day. GO WATCH IT, MY MINIONS :D

I recently bought Pokemon Black and I am in -love- with this game! :D I've only gotten three badges so far (I just beat Castelia City's gym leader), but I can already tell that I'm gonna love the entire experience. I originally expected the 5th generation to fail horribly, but now that I've actually played the game and interacted with several of the new Pokemon, I'm really enjoying it. My starter was Oshawott (OTTERS = <3), which is now a level 28 Dewott. I'd have to say Dewott is currently my favourite 5th-generation Pokemon due to its cute otterness. I'm not a huge fan of its evolution, Samurott, though; it looks too much like a dragon and not enough like an otter.

The Unova region is so much more complex (despite its simple geography) than any of the previous regions and the changing seasons is a nice touch. I especially like how some of the Pokemon's appearances change along with the seasons. And holy crap, the bridges! Very nice 3D effects, and I find it amusing that there are cars and trucks driving along the highway portion of the bridges, but nowhere else in the game. Where do they go after they exit the bridges? xD

Oh, and of course, there's Team Plasma -- as my friend so aptly stated, "They're like PETA activists on steroids". x3 It's too bad there aren't any truly evil characters, but I still think they did a great job developing each character and giving them more defined personalities than in previous games.


Anyone else have the new game(s)? What are your thoughts/reactions? (P.S. - NO SPOILERS. I haven't finished the game yet!)

As depressed as I am that winter is over (and 110+ degree temperatures are quickly approaching), I'm thrilled that Spring Break has started. :D An entire week off from school is just what I needed. Lots of time to sleeeeep. <3

This will also give me an opportunity to actually -draw- for once. :P I usually only draw on the weekends, and even then I don't have time to sketch intricate drawings, so I end up finishing old doodles from last year instead of working on drawings that I owe people. And on a completely un-related topic... I got accepted to the college I've been wanting to go to! :D And even better, I was also accepted to their honors program! But here's the problem: they say I'm "required" to live on-campus for the first two years of my degree. This poses a problem because my scholarship money likely won't cover the enormous housing costs they charge. And being a rather solitary person, I don't look forward to having a roommate. >__> Nevertheless, I may or may not end up moving into a dorm soon. Fun.

What would you guys recommend? Try to get exempted from living on-campus and save myself about $12,000? Or prepare for the dorm life?

Tell me if this is a good/bad idea. I'm still undecided on whether to go through with it. :P



I'm considering creating an alternate FA account for my clean artwork, mainly because I don't want some of my dA watchers and/or school friends stumbling onto all the pr0nz on this account. I know a couple furries at my school, but I have no idea if they look at yiff, so it'd be nice to be able to direct them to an FA account without a fuckload of furry pr0nz crammed into its gallery. x3

This also means that I won't make any mention of having another account on the new one. Anyone know if there's a program that will play Flash files (.swf) on your computer without actually having the Flash program installed? I have a few .swf files that I want to save, but I don't have Flash and I don't know how to view them otherwise. :/

Wow, first update in a long time. :/ Sorry for disappearing, but I haven't been in much of an artsy mood lately. I've made a few sketches, but nothing that's really gotten into the coloring stage. I think the problem is a lack of inspiration and new things to draw -- which is why I'm making this journal.

Which animal(s) would you guys like to see me draw? :3 Please don't say wolves, 'cause I draw them all time. But I've been considering drawing some animals that I don't usually draw, mainly just to have something new. I haven't drawn a ferret in quite a while, so I may draw one sometime in the near future; then there's the big cats, such as lions and leopards --which I love, but almost never draw; and even though I draw canines quite a bit, I'd like to try different dog breeds, such as Dalmatians and Dobermans. I could also start drawing more dragons, foxes, hyenas(!), and even small woodland animals like raccoons and squirrels.

But just a note: There are some animals that I'd really prefer not to draw, such as ocean/marine creatures (not a big fan of dolphin pr0nz), amphibians (let's leave the frog secks to the frogs)... birds, etc. Basically, mammals are my forté.

They make me laugh. :D I swear, some of THE most narrow-minded people roam around dA, looking for arguments. Like the moron who commented on my "proud furry" stamp, saying this:

"I hate people like you. how can you be proud of something so wrong? People like you need to take your 'pride' and dive head first into a furnace."


Just curious, have any of you guys come across people like this before? And if so, how did you deal with them? I usually argue back sarcastically, in hopes of aggravating the hell out of them. x3 'Tis certainly amusing.

The journal I posted about Pokemon cards hasn't been deleted, but it appears to be glitching or something. It says that there are 36 comments, but none of them are showing up. :/ So if you have any cards to offer me and I haven't noted you yet, send me a note~

And furthermore, I'm getting replies in my inbox to comments that aren't even mine. D: There were three different messages saying someone had replied to my comments on journals that I'd never even seen before. And when I clicked on them, they were replies to -Dragoneer's- comments on those journals. So confused. O__o

I mentioned this back in October of last year, but I've gotten a ton of new watchers since then, so I figured it's worth making another journal about. I'm trying to collect a bunch of the older cards, so if you still have your old cards (especially cards from the Neo 2nd generation sets), you might want to take a look at the following list. I'd be willing to make anything from a sketch or an icon to a fully-colored drawing, depending on the rarity and/or amount of cards.

I could also pay you with cash, but I don't have much to spare and I'd prefer to draw something instead.

And yes, I know I still owe artwork to a couple people who sent me cards -aaaages- ago. .__. I'm SLOWLY whittling down my to-do list to a few drawings. And actually, I need to note a few people about what they wanted me to draw... I wrote down a list of the drawings I was supposed to do, but I seem to have misplaced it. >__>
