PRICE CHANGES (Illustrations)

As we do each year, we have been reviewing our pricing for commissions.
We've found that reference sheets, stickers and colored sketches are reliably profitable as they are, and so we will be leaving the pricing for these commission types as they are. Illustrations, in particular the larger pieces, though they often make for great portfolio pieces (and we are rightfully proud of the results and grateful for the opportunities) we've had to acknowledge we are taking a loss in creating them and need to adjust the prices in an attempt to address that. As such we are raising the mid-shot and full illustration costs.
HOWEVER we've done some work on our workflow/planning with the most recent batch of colored sketches to improve consistency and quality of the final product. Between this and making them available as non streamed commission options (and sharing some of the load between us), we believe we are able to provide considerably better work than we have previously, allowing them to be quality works of art that are a bit more budget friendly then the much more complex and involved illustration work (that pushes us and requires lots of dedicated time). Though we believe the new sketch practices will also set a pathway forwards in elevating our practices for Illustrations and provide higher quality results.
With the above in mind, here is the new pricing for Illustrations:

Cost - $100
Additional character - 50%
Illustration - Mid Shot
Cost - $175
Additional character - 50%

How to price ref sheets:
First you will need to know the base price of the reference sheet. This is what we will charge to cover any/all back and forth communication, layout/design and all text. There are three ref sheet options available, these prices do NOT include the art itself.
The three types are:
- From Scratch
This mean you have no existing ref sheet. We will need written description of character. There will be a lot of back and forwards communication to make sure we are creating the character with your vision in mind.
- Custom Design
Similar to 'From Scratch' except that we take a major part in the characters design. If you want a unique OC but struggle with formulating ideas or coming up with a unique design, this is the one for you. You will have plenty of opportunity during the characters creation to request design changes or elements as we go, tailoring it to your own preferences.
- Redesign
This means you have a ref sheet but the character needs changing. We will help you/discuss the changes to your character then create the ref sheet. This can include character overhauls.
- Update
This means you have an existing ref sheet/character that you just want drawn in our style. Character stays the same (though small things like eye colour changes are fine).
Once you have determined the base price you will then need to add on all of the content (art) you wish to have included on your ref sheet.

Discord Server (18+ only)
Posted a year agoOur Discord Server is up and running and we have some fun stuff lined up for the new year.
Game nights, sketch streams, free warm up session streams (like the upcoming meme stream) and other activities like life-drawing!
This is on top of the normal functionality like advance notice of commissions opening and small commission-able things like the discord and Monster Hunter Icons etc.
For those already apart of it, don't forget to set your pings for the new activities.
For those who are considering joining, please be aware that it is an adult only (18+) server, its a small chill group but we are happy to welcome new friends into the fold. Be sure to introduce yourself and say hello! ^^

I am happy to advise that Khael's health has been steadily improving.
The issues were caused by a medication (that he had started to take for his heart) that was causing liver failure... Its been a rough few months, no year, with health scares and the struggles with moving into the country to work on art full time, but there is light at the end of a tunnel. We are not sure where our path will take us over the next year but we will work through it together.
Once more, a huuuuge thank you to all our close friends whom offered their ears and hearts, our fans and supporters who keep us going and our Patreon's who have literally kept the roof over our head in these trying times. We wish you ALL a most wonderful holiday and send best wishes for the New Year.

Hello everyone,
Today's announcement is, I think, an important one to get out for the sake of transparency and to keep you all updated on our current situation and its potential effects on our work.
Since February Khael's health has been... up and down. We have made a few small comments on it but unfortunately things have taken a significant turn for the worse over the last couple of weeks. We have been trying hard to get to the bottom of the issues but, for the most part, doctors have been having a hard time pinning down the causes and thus the path to resolve them.
I will avoid going to go into specifics but recently there have been markers in Khael's blood-work of serious concern and of which is being investigated actively. Whilst he is stable at present, it is... hard on us.
Work is a good distraction for Khael and so we have been making some progress but it doesn't take much to get side-tracked when we're fielding calls regularly from doctors and specialists daily and taking extra trips to town to have more tests done. That alongside the anxiety and overall emotional drain means work is slow.
We are doing what we can to keep up with our Patreon content, gallery postings and commissions but its a real challenge for us at present and we kindly request patience with our slow progress as we work through this very tough time, both emotionally, physically and financially.
I want to take a moment to genuinely thank everyone for their wonderful support, including our Patreon's who are quite literally keeping a roof over our heads. We hold out hope for the future and look forwards to producing more creative works for you all <3

IMPORTANT NEWS!
Posted 2 years agoHello all, some big news today!
As many of you know we moved right out into the country in order to go full time with out art. So far it has been a wonderful experience but it has been met with some very large challenges. First and foremost, our internet is dreadful. We will need to switch to StarLink in order to run streams but the costs for upgrading to this are huge and we are already only just making ends meet. With only just making ends meet, we are also not able to save for our future or for emergencies, should they arise, nor can we hope to replace hardware as it becomes necessary. With all of this in mind, we have decided to push forwards and create our very own Patreon page, in hopes that it will supplement our income enough that we may continue our art business moving forwards.
I want to make it very clear that almost no changes have been made to what we have always offered for free, via our public discord and main galleries. We will not be walling commission slots or standard art content behind this platform. Those who join our discord will continue to receive early announcement of commissions opening and participation in paid sketch streams.
That said, the support is greatly needed and deeply appreciated so we will be providing ADDITIONAL content for all those who are able to support us on Patreon. This will come in the form of early previews of our work and WIPs, voting and participation of art that is non-commissioned (fan art etc), access to content we would never usually provide such as concept work, experimental work and sketches etc of a personal nature, high resolution files, wallpapers, raffles for free headshots and coloured sketches and more!

Big Update!! TFF and life changes

FULL TIME ART
Some big news from myself and Khael.
We are currently in the process of moving house, out into the countryside where we will be looking after a small family farm and working full time on our art!!!
Once we are settled in we will be opening commissions and hope to provide a steady flow of quality commissions, YCH's, stream sketches and more!

In addition to the above I'm excited to announce that I will be in Texas attending TFF this year, in March. I won't be able to work a stall (I'm coming all the way from Australia) but will be doing some small amount of networking whilst I'm there. If your a fan/follower of our work (who will be attending the con or in the area) and want to say hello, just shoot me a Note!! ///
A huge thank you to my most wonderful friends who came together to help fund this once-in-a-lifetime trip. I can't wait to meet you all in person <3

Myself and Khael have been doing art on a semi part time basis for a while now. I've held down a 9-5 job and worked on the side with Khael to deliver content to our amazing friend and fans.
We went through a patch of high activity around March last year when we tried going full time on art whilst I was between work. It was a pretty successful couple of weeks and gave us hope that we could one day live off of our art in the future.
Several months ago an opportunity arose to move to a farm in the countryside that belongs to Khael's family. It's quite far out from 'civilisation' but has internet. The overheads (rent and living costs) will be significantly lower than usual and so we are taking the opportunity to move out there and then to go full time with our art. Both of us.
It is a very nerve wracking and scary thing to do... We don't know how well it will go but it's the best opportunity we have ever had to give it a go... Nothing ventured, nothing gained, as they say.
Any and all support during this time will be greatly appreciated, as it always is. We look forwards to working with many of you and bringing your wildest imagination and dreams to life <3

We will be opening to all commission types (illustrations, ref sheets, stickers etc).
We will loosely work on first-come-first-serve but slots are not guaranteed.
Once all slots are filled we will close the commission form and update this journal.
Due to all types of commissions being open we cannot say exactly how many slots are available (ref sheets for example will take up the most pat of a week so can only fit a few of these in).

We have some news regarding our commissions.
Firstly, we will be looking to open much more regularly. I have recently quit my full time work and thus will be able to put more time/effort into my art whilst I consider how to move forwards in the future. You should expect to see more activity coming from us soon.
Secondly, we have undergone a commission structure change. We now charge more flat-price commissions instead of having a base price with lots of things to add on top. The pricing works out to be roughly the same as before for most characters. You can now find our commission info in the commissions tab of FA. This will include new commission types (such as ref sheets) that we have generally not done before.
APRIL COMMISSIONS: We will be opening for commissions in the next couple of days so please, keep your eye out. Please feel free to come to us if you have any questions or would like a quote in the meantime but bear in mind that we cannot hold slots in advance.
