Rest in Peace Dragoneer
Thank you for everything you did during your ownership of Furaffinity over the years. For many, including myself, FurAffinity is part of every day life. A place created by furries, run by furries and for furries. It's a furry safe haven where we can be ourselves. Furaffinity is a pillar of the Furry Fandom and I cannot fathom it not existing.
While I had the pleasure of chatting with Dragoneer a few times over the years, I never told him a story I had really wanted to. I always said "I want to tell him this story over a beer at a con" but I never had that chance. I will regret not trying harder forever so I'm going to share it here now.
In 2007, I made a Deviant Art account to share my art. It was mostly poor quality photos of pencil sketches and my digital art which was really just tracing still from Disney movies haha. But I had tons of sketchbooks at this time filled with artwork of monsters, demons and anthropomorphic animal people. I had no idea what furries were and in 2007 and I was 15/16 years old. When I made a DA account I was asked to create a username, so I decided to use a name of one of my anthropomorphic animal characters, a demonic wolf man named Dragoneer. Yep. YEP. You can go look up my DeviantArt account and you'll find it's a young me there with the username Dragoneer.
Well later in 2007 I got a note from someone aside from my two friends on the site. They asked me if I did commissions to which I said no, and told them I was just a kid. They apologized and said "Oh gosh i'm sorry, I just read the name, I thought you were The Dragoneer." I said no worries and told them I liked their digimon character and hoped they could find whoever they were looking for. But I wondered what they meant, did someone else on the Internet use this name? Welp, I googled 'Dragoneer Digimon Art' since that's what I had been asked about and when I clicked on the first link I was brought to what I assume was Dragoneer's personal website, hey maybe it was here on FA. All I know was I was staring at Guilmon cock and balls and I panicked, X'd out of the Internet and was just flabbergasted lol. I hadn't ever seen porn before, IRL or drawn so I was like omg what! I told my two friends on DA what happened and they were both like "Yeah, a lot of spaces on the Internet are for adults, especially those furry sites. Just stick to here and Neopets for now!"
Those two friends I'd later learn were both furries themselves and much older than me but had taken on a parental role in my young online art spaces days. That word, 'furry' went to the back of my mind for years and it wouldn't be till January 2011 that it'd get stirred up again when 19 year old me would find and join the furry fandom.
Looking back I find this story hilarious, that furry was there in my life four years before I'd officially find and join it. And that Dragoneer was really a catalyst for all that, and the importance Furaffinity would have in my life from 2011 onward. I check FA every single day, I love FA.
Rest In Peace Dragoneer, I hope your spirit read this now and got a good laugh out of it. Goodbye.

2022 Thus Far and Looking Ahead

Hey all!
Hope you are all doing well. I realized I never gave an update at the end of last year or start of this year so I'm fixing that!
Our first con back was MFF 2021 and that was seriously incredible. That con felt like it had the magic back as well, with people being really performative in suit. It was my favorite MFF since my first one! Was so nice to catch up with folks and just be in a con environment again. Brought Twinky Arts Gale and Dew and it was so nice to see so many people hype to see them!
2022 started off as a bummer, skipping out on NYE plans to prep for Further Confusion but the Omicrom outbreak dashing those plans. Thankfully we got our flights and hotel refunded. Hopefully we can finally do our first Further Confusion next year!
In February we attended Anthro New England and it was so surreal to go to the con I started as just an attendee. I really enjoyed myself cause of a great group of friends and spending so much time with them. Got to do some fun 90s outfits for myself, Gale and Dew, and just vibes out to tons of 90s music!
Last weekend I wad at Furnal Equinox and it was a dream come true to be back in Toronto seeing my Canadian friends! We spent Thursday exploring the city like usual, I went to the Hockey Hall of Fame for the first time and that was fucking rad! Enjoyed lots of yummy local cider and beer and even some Ice Wine my French Canadian friends brought me! I brought Twinky Arts Gale and Nexus for that con and I had a great time making 80s outfits for myself and Gale! Smudge, Strobes and I did a flash mob of Aerobics Workouts in con space Friday and I finally competed in a Dance Comp again, I was proud of my performance, can't wait to share it with you all! FE was freaking incredible, god I love that con!
My only other two solid cons I have planned at Anthrocon and MFF for this year. Maybe Furpoc depending on what us locals decide to do. Otherwise I'm hoping to spend some PTO to go visit folks outside of cons.

Plans for rest of 2021

Hey everyone!
Strobes and I have been fully vaccinated now since early May. It has been so incredibly refreshing to be able to see other vaccinated friends again and go to restaurants again. Locally we've been having hangouts, little house parties, and fursuiting together again and it's been so good for the soul. Incredibly thankful to personally be at this point and I'm hopeful all my friends around the world will get there soon as well!
We are going to be focusing on small trips this year, hosting some friends here as well as traveling to see some friends for weekends. We are very excited to return to conventions but we really don't see ourselves getting to one until Midwest Furfest this year, which we will be 100% going to assuming all goes well.
We will be returning to all our usual conventions in 2022 (Anthro New England, Furnal Equinox, Anthrocon, Furpocalypse, Midwest Furfest) as well as hopefully tossing in some others. We would very much like to attend our first ever Further Confusion, as that would also be our first time ever in California!
I am so incredibly excited to see you all again! What cons are you thinking of doing this year and next?

April 2021 Update

Hey all,
I hope you guys are doing ok. Gosh this past year or so has been a wild ride.
But perhaps we are finally getting back to a point where we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
In America, everyone 16+ is eligible for a vaccine. I am lucky enough that I have already received my second vaccine shot and Strobes receives his second vaccine shot this Sunday. So ideally starting May 5th for me and May 10th for Strobes, we can see local friends again (vaccinated ones at least!)
I am hopeful that we can maybe attend FurFright and Midwest FurFest later this year, depending on how the cons handle things. We'll be keeping an eye on them and other fall/winter cons.
I really hope come 2022, all cons can return and all furries will have access to the vaccine so I can hug all my friends again and enjoy furmeets and conventions like I used to! For now, stay safe and be smart and get vaccinated when able!
I will also be trying to update all my character accounts with all the art they are missing and some fursuit photos cause I have certainly been slacking!

March, Again: An Early 2021 Update

Well here we are, nearly one year into the pandemic. Still no furry conventions.
I extremely miss all my friends, fursuiting, fur meets, conventions, public suiting, going out to restaurants and places... life has been so incredibly boring.
Hoping to get my vaccine soon and that maybe this summer and fall we can see friends again and hangout and who knows... maybe MFF will happen? Gosh I wanna be at a con with folks, hugging and laughing and dancing.

A 2020 Reflection

Here we are, it's nearly Christmas... 2020 will be a particularly odd Holiday Season, but at least I believe there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel.
2020 was a brutal year full of fear, sickness, hatred, violence, destruction and more. It was hard to get through every week let alone every day.
I was worried about all my family and friend's health and safety, as well as if they'd be financially ok through all this.
I missed my friends and family desperately, and I still do, and I will until I can safely see everyone again.
But finally I am hopeful for 2021, that a change of many things will come, that the world will be less insane, and that these vaccines will be distributed and work. That I will be able to see friends again without quarantine and masks and give them hugs and fursuit together again and have adventures.
I'm really hoping that perhaps Fall or Winter of 2021 we will see the first con return safely and that I can go and see you all and give thousands of hugs.
We're almost there folks, keep your chins up and keep holding out hope that we'll get through this and be together again soon.

Life Updates and Thoughts on 2020

Howdy everyone. First and foremost, I hope everyone seeing this is well. I miss my furry friends so very much.
As you maybe saw, I finally updated FA with some art and fursuit photos and there's still more to come. But I also wanted to write a new journal since things have been really weird this year.
2020 started off and I hoped it'd be a big improvement over 2019 for personal reasons. I had huge goals this year to better myself and my physical and mental health. Jan and Feb were focused on ANE and my con work. ANE 2020 was another great success and I got at least a little fursuiting in with friends and time spent with the people I cherish most.
But March brought a massive unexpected twist due to the huge spike in Covid-19 cases and it being deemed a global pandemic. In MA we went into quarantine lockdown March 16th and now, 59 days later, we are still observing that. For 59 days I have been working from home and I have only seen Strobes who I live with, and my parents who are both very healthy but still need assistance from time to time. I've only gone outside for fitness walks and groceries. Face masks have become the norm and sometimes even rubber gloves. It feels so weird! But I'm incredibly thank to live in MA, I think we're handling it super well considering Boston is a major city and the biggest epicenter of the pandemic is right next door in NYC. My love and endless gratitude goes out to all the healthcare workers, doctors, nurses, hospital janitors, first responders, scientists, grocery workers and other frontline employees that are putting themselves at great risk to help as many people as possible in this insane time. It's gunna be a long and hard road but I know humanity can get through it.
In the meantime and on a personal note, it means that my fun cons this year where I don't staff, Furnal Equinox, Furry Weekend Atlanta and Anthrocon were all cancelled. And honestly it is heart wrenching to know I won't have those amazing con moments, the chance to further explore those great cities and eat at local joints, and that I won't see my incredible friends. I was asked to attend Camp Feral this year as well with a friend but it's unlikely that will happen now that August cons are cancelling. On top of that MFF, may very well get cancelled if there is a predicted second spike in the colder months. Could it be that March 2020-Dec 2020 will be without a furry con!?! What a nightmare world...
I just can't wait to fursuit with others again, to enjoy hugs and cuddle, to have many laughs and to live in the moment again, I know it will happen. It's so difficult to think how far away it might be, scary to think of the world as it is, but we can get through this! I'm happy to see the fandom rallying to help, making cloth face masks, setting up virtual cons and events, friend groups doing more voice/video calls and games... that's all good stuff. Please remember to reach out to your friends during all this insanity. We're all struggling, and we all gotta hold each other up.
Be well everyone, one day there will be cons and furmeets again and we'll all have so much fun. Stay safe, be well, help others. I love you all.

Summer 2017 Update

I always have a lull in convention attendance between AC and Furpoc so I like to do a little summer update!
Anthrocon was incredible as always! It was great to see all my pals and spend more time in Pittsburgh. I got to be on the news this year at Anthrocon too, that was really cool!
I spent about 2 hours with the gentleman from WTAE on Wednesday of Anthrocon cause he was just curious and had tons of off camera question, it was a really good way to start my con!
July, August and September is packed full of local meets, events and birthdays so I'm excited to get fluffy a ton over the next few weeks, and I wanna get to beach some more too before the summer is gone.
And then it'll be October and I'll be going to all the Haunted Houses I can get to and getting hype for Furpoc!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well, and if you get winter where you are, I hope you're staying warm and surviving the snow. Boston has gotten quite a bit recently but that's to be expected in February!
I'm writing this journal though cause my life has changed a bit recently.
After ANE 2017 which was just a few weekends ago, I stepped down from my leadership role in the Board of Directors.
As many of you know Logn and I made the pact to actually start up this con in my kitchen in Dec 2013 and pulled Kota Husky on right away. 2014 was a ton of work prepping for ANE 2015, the first iteration, but god was it fun and worth it. ANE 2015, 2016 and now 2017 were massive successes and ANE 2017 saw 1384 attendees and in the last three years we have raised $38,600 for our charity, MA Vest A Dog!
But Anthro New England brought me a lot of stress these past few years, from all the work on top of having a 40 hour a week office job, my social life, my family stuff and running local meetups. That stress paired with my declining physical health due to constant back and neck pain put me in a really cruddy place the past few months. I don't feel like I was myself in 2016. Something was just off and I feel the stress in my life was a root cause of that odd feeling. To any of you that may have picked up on it, or felt I had changed or our friendship got weird, I'm so sorry! It took a lot for me to acknowledge there was an issue and I had to do something about it. My doctor and chiropractor both hounded me to make some life changes before these back and neck problems got too serious.
And so, although incredibly painful for me, I stepped down with Anthro New England. I've cried a lot since the start of 2017, knowing I'd have to do it then doing it, but it's for the best. I can already feel myself becoming me again. And I'll still be involved with ANE as staff so that's a good thing!
I've also been working to lessen other stressors in my life, but don't worry, you'll still see me out at lots of local hangouts and meets, my social life is super important to me, cause I love seeing all you guys. It is hard to balance seeing all my local friends but I'm doing my best and never be afraid to poke me on Twitter or Telegram or something :)
The good news is that the love of my life, Strobes, and my closest friends (you know who you are) were my rocks during this time and they helped me so much, and I'm so very thankful for them. I truly am blessed to have the people in my life that I do.
So as we look forward, I'm going to work on further improving my mental and physical health this year and get myself back to the good ole' Mollie while also experiencing new and wonderful things!
I'll still be on staff at ANE as well as joining staff at MFF! Fuse and I will still be helming the furbowls and many local MA furmeets and charity events. And Strobes and I will be attending Furxoticon, BLFC, AC, Furpoc and MFF this year!
For those that actually read all this, thanks, it means a lot. And to all my furry family, thank you for being in my life. I really don't know what I'd be doing if it wasn't for the fandom. I love you all!

You'll find me at Opening Ceremonies, Meet the Guest of Honor Panel (host), "Rock Are Cool Even If We Aren't" (host), Dance Comp Prelims and Finals (Prelims Judge and MC for finals), Fursuit Games (host), Charity Presentation, Fursuit Group Photo and Dance (host), Supersponsor Dinner and the nightly raves.
When I am not hosting or participating in an above event I will be wandering and ensuring all is going well in my Department.
If you see me please say hello and get a hug but it will be quick most likely so don't be offended if I keep moving while we say hi and hug. This is not the con I can hang out with people at but at least saying hi to all my friends makes me really happy.
