Posted 11 years agoI jut created a website for Mississippi furs and friends of MS furs! The idea of the site is getting to interact with local furs, make scheduling meets and events easier, and to be able to showcase the fandom in MS in a positive way.
Furries in MS are pretty scattered with a few local groups. Most furs are rather quiet about it in Mississippi. This is a way to meet furs without having to go looking around EVERYWHRE for one. We want to create a fun, safe, and friendly environment to meet new people and make friends!

Asking Your Opinion (guns)
Posted 11 years agoBefore I tart. DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A MASSIVE DEBATE CLUSTERFUCK! Respect people and their opinions.
So I am curious to know what my watchers' opinions on guns are.
I will tell you how I feel. I feel that guns are a great source of fun if used correctly. I enjoy target shooting and hunting. I personally will not shoot anything I don't plan to eat. I do believe in personal defense firearms. They save lives. I believe that laws do not stop criminals. I believe there is no way to enforce a ban. I believe n the right to bear arms and defend the nation from all threats foreign and domestic. This means I believe that weapons that rival military quality should be available (albeit with a bit more regulation than regular guns) to the public. I do not believe the AR platform should be considered an "assault rifle" in legal terms, because it is no more powerful than many semi-automatic hunting or sport rifles, and does not meet the technical definition. I believe gun safety training courses should be readily available and free, or low cost for anyone who wants to take them.
I have friends who are on both extremes and everywhere in between in their opinions on this matter.
But I am curious in the general opinions of my watchers. Comment below and remember DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A DEBATE CLUSTERFUCK!

My Thoughts on the Dr. Phil Episode
Posted 11 years agoWatched the Dr Phil furry episode. It really didnt hammer on the fandom at all, although her mother did say "there are no professional furries" which is actually incorrect. But she wasnt one of them. He was more focused on her education and job than the furry thing. He seemed to be fine with the fandom in general. I thought Culpeo handled herself well.
I think her mother does need to relax about it. Furry conventions are very safe from my experiences, and furries tend to be very nice. She made a good point about the "Creepy people" that there are "Plenty of creepy people without fursuits."
Dr. Phil really didn't bash the fandom, which I appreciate. I think he observed many of the letters and emails he got when the fandom discovered his desire to have a furry on the show.
All in all, I think this was not that bad.
Now I didn't like the fact that they put it in the episode with those other people. Then again, they just make furries look normal :P

Here is the reason. I would simply much rather have a comment saying that you liked it and why than you to spend all of half a second to hit a button saying you "favorited" it.
Hitting fave and not commenting tells me that you looked at the picture for all of 2 seconds and moved on. I find it almost disrespectful.
As a developing artists, I rely on feedback from my watchers. I like to know what you all like to see! I like to know WHY you favorited the picture! Why did you like it? What about it made you like it?

Of course I wouldnt ask this if I did not practice what I preach. I comment on every picture that I have faved.

This looks like it was well planned out. The spam was caused by an automated task, and here's the steps followed by the program used to do it:
create randomly named account
post new submission
upload xxxx.jpg
fill in title and comments box with garbage, and check "general submission"
submit submission
disable account
loop back to beginning
My personal guess as to how this was accomplished would be through the use of Python for the sake that it'd be easier to program, and I personally don't see anyone going through the trouble of debugging C/C++ code just to spam FAs front page for however briefly. This could be relatively easily accomplished with Python through its extensive included module library, including ones for the http and socket protocols.
The basic structure of the function would look something like this:
