New Year, New Update
Posted 7 years agoHello all, hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.
So life has been pretty hectic for me recently, with work mostly. Better than being quiet at work I suppose. On better news, my mum has been to see the doctor and it's been confirmed that like me she also has anxiety and depression, however she seems to be doing much better being on medication for it like me, so that's a weight off of my mind.
I also finally got round to start playing Spyro Reignited Trilogy when I can, and am having a absolute blast playing it...mmmm....nostalgia...
Flights are booking for AC 2019 and I have booked flights, however I missed the opening of the hotel bookings on the official AC page so not sure what I'm going to do in terms of accommodation. If anyone has any recommendations I'd be mighty grateful :>
Anywho, until next update! Hope everything is well with everyone.

Losing a Friend
Posted 7 years agoApologies I haven't posted sooner, but I wasn't sure how to word this as the sudden news knocked me pretty hard. I'm not good with words at times like this, but i'll try.
Earlier this month I got the news that a good friend of mine
la-glacefurball tragically lost her life in a road accident. devastating news coming out of the blue like this completely threw me.
You were always kind and cheerful, a joy to talk to and always put a smile on my face. I can't imagine what your family must be going through, losing a loved one so suddenly at such a young age. I'll miss you Glace.

Still Alive...Again
Posted 7 years agoHey peeps. Its been a while, huh? Thought it was about time I came along with an update.
So a few things have happened since my last post, most not that great, unfortunately. This summer has been a bit of a doozy to be honest. Work got -real- stressful, working long hours and putting in a lot of unpaid overtime, against my better judgement. As this went on I started feeling the pressure and stress, snowballing gradually as time went on.
Through all of this things got worse when my grandmother, who had been unwell for time, unfortunately passing away. It hit me particularly hard in part due to the above, but also that I was close to her and she was the last of my grandparents to pass on.
Things came to a head when I broke down during my mid-year review in work and having an anxiety attack during my grandmother's funeral service, pretty embarrassing when my sister and aunt practically had to hold me up to stop me from passing out. Luckily I managed to compose myself and get some air at the end of the service, just as well considering I was one of the pall-bearers with my cousins.
I had gotten into a pretty dark place to be honest, and knew that I had to get myself checked out which luckily I had the sense to do as my anxiety and depression had obviously reared its ugly head again. I'm now on antidepressants which seem to be doing the trick as I'm in a much better place than before.
Looking back over the years, I'm pretty sure that I've always had depression for most of my adult life. What happened in 2011 probably should have opened my eyes to it, to be honest. Guess hindsight really is 20/20 One thing I will say from this experience is that I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and if anyone is ever in a dark place mentally, then -please- talk to someone. It could be your friends, family or whoever, just -talk- if nothing else. It's now apparent that my mum is developing anxiety and depression too, so I'm gently trying to persuade her to see the doctor. Hope she will soon.
On to a brighter note, my apartment is looking a lot more like home now, just got a few little jobs to put the finishing touches on.
I've also taken the plunge and have booked flights for Anthrocon 2019. Yes, at the ripe old age of 32 I will going to my first con XP
Anyway, hopefully I won't leave it as long before I'm back with an update. Hope things are good with everyone.

Apartment Get
Posted 7 years agoSo after saving, saving and more saving, today I got the keys to my apartment! Needs a lick of paint and a couple of other things, but I finally have a place to call my own. Woo!
Still alive
Posted 8 years agoHello
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New year, just checking in to say that I'm still alive (I won't ask whether that's a good or bad tbing). I've been pretty busy with offline stuff, more news on which I'll have soon, hopefully.
Anywho, hope you're all well.

Lest We Forget.
Posted 9 years agoSo I've been thinking recently (dangerous I know), and considering all the hate and arguing that's been going on on both sides in the US election and the EU referendum, I felt it important to share this with you.
For the UK today is remembrance Sunday, where in conjunction with Armistice Day on 11/11, we remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their country in conflicts through the years. Sometimes I think we, on occasion, collectively take our freedom and liberties for granted (and yes I have more than likely been guilty of this myself before anyone says anything). I also believe that now more than ever, we need to remember that fighting and hating, and shooting off nasty comments from behind a computer screen etc. will get us nowhere, again, on whichever side you feel you are on. So yeah, just thought I'd give my two pence/cents/whatever, as millions of people have given their lives for our freedom.
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.
Never forget.

Hurricane Matthew
Posted 9 years agoSo been watching the news reports about hurricane Matthew which has hit the Caribbean and is making it's way to the US. Hopefully with a bit of luck it will lose power by the time it makes landfall. Stay safe everyone.
So, considering doing AC 2017
Posted 9 years agoSo yeah, I'm considering doing AC 2017. I've never done a con before, so any advice is welcome like hotels etc
The Big 3-0
Posted 9 years agoSo as of around 5:30 GMT this morning I turned 30...so I've finally moved on from being a single, still-living-with-parents twentysomething to...a single, still-living-with-parents thirtysomething. Well that's depressing. :/
Still, at least I have the day off today, so a nice present to myself there. :>
Now to catch up on last night's WWE Raw, especially THAT finale...

Three Peaks Challenge Complete!
Posted 9 years agoSo last week the challenge took place and after much climbing, severe lack of sleep and injured knees, we completed the challenge! To be honest I was kind of dreading it, but ended up having a blast! Not to mention some surreal moments climbing a mountain at 3am, with only a headtorch and the moonlight to guide us XP Raising over £7000 for our charity felt pretty good too ^^ Off to Cuba next week for 14 nights, so pretty stoked about that as Cuba is somewhere I've wanted to go for years, so pretty excited ^^
Anywho, for those going to AC this weekend, I hope you have an awesome time! :D I should really get myself to one of these con thingamajigs one of these days... XP

The British EU Referendum
Posted 9 years agoWell it looks like ignorance and short-sightedness has won the day. It's make me sick that instead if listening to the warnings of countless experts, people have instead decided to listen to smug morons like Nigel Farage spouting their xenophobic lies, and take a leap in the dark with no plan whatsoever, not to mention diplomatic isolation. It's no coincidence that the pound has crashed this morning. I am very concerned what the future holds for this country, and if things go from bad to worse we will only have ourselves to blame.
Three Peaks Challenge
Posted 9 years agoSo against my better judgement, I have agreed to do the Three Peaks Challenge with work colleagues in aid of the charity Whizz-Kidz.
For those who don't know, the Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland within 24 hours. This includes traveling from Ben Nevis in Scotland, to Scafell Pike in England and then on to Snowdon in Wales. That is an estimated travel time of 10 hours, so only leaves 14 hours to climb 3 mountains on next to no sleep. This is an extremely difficult challenge that is not only physically difficult but mentally too. This is not something to be underestimated and participants have already started a vigorous training plan, which will include cover a number of miles between now and the climb.
The three mountains are:
Ben Nevis, Scotland - 1344 metres
Scafell Pike, England - 978 metres
Snowdon, Wales - 1085 metres
Our Itinerary:
Tuesday 21 June – Travel to Scotland
Wednesday 22 June (AM) – Thursday 23 June (AM) – Climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon
Thursday 23 June (PM) – Travel Home and Sleep!
Charity
Whizz-Kidz transform the lives of disabled children by providing the equipment, support and life skills they need, when they need them – giving them the chance to develop their full potential.
It's now only week away! Quite excited, but also a little nervous!

Thoughts and prayers
Posted 9 years agoThoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the Orlando shootings during this difficult time.
Ack!
Posted 9 years agoSo I was going to get to workin' on more stuff for PCA and even my other non-PCA characters (shock horror), When all of a sudden my Tomb Raider fandom decided to kick back in...so I've been playing the hell out of those games.
And then the Six Nations championship decided to roll around too.
And then work decided to be busy and take up a lot of my time.
And THEN, Street Fighter V decided to be released!
February has not been a good month for distractions. :/
Anywho, hope everyone's well, I will get stuff up soon, I promise!

Someone put Street Fighter in my Tekken (Plus a life update)
Posted 10 years agohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozB1YQuv39I
And it looks AWESOME.
In other news, unfortunately my Nan finally passed away in her sleep a couple of weeks ago. At least she's not in pain anymore and is with my Grandad. The funeral was really nice too, and her ashes are with my Grandad's overlooking the mountains in west Wales which is what she wanted. So that's pretty much the reason I've been quiet recently. Still life goes on.
I'll try and be a bit more active and post any news that I might have. In the meantime I'm trying to get things sorted for Christmas. Safe to say by the time January hits I will be able to hear the faint weeping coming from my depleted bank account.
Anyhow, hope everything is well with everyone.

Hope, not hate.
Posted 10 years agoMy thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Paris during this terrible time. We must not, however, give in to intolerance, otherwise we will be doing exactly what the terrorists want us to do. I think George Takei summed it up pretty well:
"I'm writing this backstage at Allegiance, my heart heavy with the news from Paris, aching for the victims and their families and friends.
There no doubt will be those who look upon immigrants and refugees as the enemy as a result of these attacks, because they look like those who perpetrated these attacks, just as peaceful Japanese Americans were viewed as the enemy after Pearl Harbor. But we must resist the urge to categorize and dehumanize, for it is that very impulse that fueled the insanity and violence perpetrated this evening.
Tonight, hold your loved ones, and pray or wish for peace, not only from guns and bombs, but from hatred and fear. If it is our freedom and joy they seek to destroy, give them not that victory. Against the forces of darkness and terror, love and compassion shall always prevail. #JeSuisParis"
Hope not hate, folks.

God Damn it.
Posted 10 years agoSo apologies for the quietness lately, had some shit to deal with.
Found out a couple of weeks ago that my Nan who I'm quite close to has got pancreas and liver cancer. And it's terminal. The doctors have only given her weeks to live, so I've been spending as much as I can visiting her, and just trying to be there for my Dad. He's one of those types that doesn't show sorrow much. Come to think of it, I can't think of a time where I've seen him cry. But I know that inside it must be tearing him apart. In a way, as morbid as it may sound, I kind of hope that she get pneumonia as that's apparently quite a kind way to go.
As if that weren't enough to deal with, a friend of the family who I considered an uncle died suddenly over the weekend. After the post mortem the doctors has said it was down to a massive heart attack. His son found him in his bed, so I just hope that it happened whilst he was asleep and that it was quick. We've been to see the family and their in pieces, so just trying to be there for support really.
I just feel emotionally drained, almost numb really. Just....yeah.
Anyway, just thought I'd better explain.

PCA Fighting Game aka Overactive Imagination
Posted 10 years agoOk, so it turns out I have way too much of an active imagination. Just some silly ideas rolling round my head if there ever was a PCA fighting game. :P
If you want to have a go at this with your own characters then go right on ahead. :)

Domeeno Twilight
Fight stance: Similar to Jin Kazama from Tekken or Cody from the Street Fighter Alpha series.
Stage Description: The stage is set on a roof top in a city, probably Viridian City, at night. Dotted about in the background other buildings are visible, some are taller than the rooftop the fighting takes place on, some aren't. The sky is clear and starry, and the moon can also be seen.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKq.....40&index=4
Luis Cario
Fight stance: Similar to Kip Kaphwan from King of Fighters XII and XIII.
Stage Description: The stage is set in a bustling street outside of the restaurant that Luis' mother runs, which also happens to be on the edge of a beach which itself is host to some sort of lively bazaar. It is an open air restaurant, as the setting is in a sunny and warm day in Sinnoh, namely Sunyshore City. Different people can been seen dining and drinking, some looking out at where the fighting is taking place.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heV.....CB&index=7
Jin Marashimaru
Fight stance: Unsurprisingly, similar to K' from the King of Fighters series.
Stage Description: The fighting takes place on a early evening outside of a diner in Ecruteak City. Outside of the diner are various models of motorcycle parked up with their riders by the side, some looking out at the fighting. In the distance the taller buildings of the city can be seen, including the bell tower and burned tower, making the style of buildings both modern and historical.

Yvonne Chateaux
Fight stance: Similar to Ibuki from the Street fighter III and IV games.

Stage Description: The fighting takes place in the grounds of the PCA itself; more specifically outside it's library. In the background students and staff can be seen making their way in and out of the library, some stopping to observe the battle going on in the foreground.

Glenn Nightfrost
Not too sure on this one, I guess the one who maybe could be best placed to say is his owner. :) though I keep thinking maybe the following might be a good theme for him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJdLfcDIhhw
Oscar Wottsworth
Fight stance: Similar to Oswald from the King of Fighters series.
Stage Description: The fighting takes place inside a aristocratic building in the evening, maybe something like an expensive hotel located in Castelia City, no doubt one which is owned by the Wottsworth business empire. In the background a gathering of upper class 'mon is taking place in some sort of high-society social function. The various 'mon are chatting to each other, many with expensive-looking drinks in their hands including champagne etc., including Oscar's father who can been seen socialising in the crowd. A few are observing the battle going on in the foreground.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X86.....40&index=3
Xiang Li
Fight stance: Similar to Marshall Law from Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Stage description: The fighting takes place on a mountainside, with Aspertia city visible far below and off in the distance, itself located on a plain which is surrounded by mountains. Nearer in the background on the mountainside two small oriental-style buildings are also visible, coupled with small trees.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O65.....mp;spfreload=1
Kaminari Himura
Fight stance: Similar to Makoto from the Street Fighter III and IV games.
Stage description: The fighting takes place outside of a an oriental-style building, namely the dojo which Kaminari's father runs, surrounded by trees and vegetation with oriental-style statues of feral electric-type Pokémon visible in various places.. Through gaps in this vegetation, Lacunosa Town can be seen in the distance.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJA.....7&index=85
Brad Vallance
Fight stance: Similar to Alex from Street Fighter III.
Stage description: The fighting takes place outside in the grounds of a military barracks. Various low buildings can be seen in the background along with various 'mon in military uniforms tending to vehicles and carrying supplies around. A few have stopped to watch the battle unfold in the foreground. In the distance the tall buildings of Castelia City can be seen.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciI.....40&index=9
Hanako Hayashi
Fight stance: Similar to Jun Kazama from Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Stage description: The fighting takes place in a clearing in the White Forest in Unova. In the background the tall trees of the white forest stretch up to the skies. Closer to the foreground is a still, shimmering pond, the rays of the sun that are able to get through the thick vegetation of trees hitting the surface of the water.
Stage theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YC.....5E2E109BE5E440
Takeo Tsukino
Fight stance: Similar to Raven from the Tekken series.
Stage description: The fighting takes place at night, seemingly in some sort of cave in the mountains not far from Lentimas Town. In the background the mouth of the cave opens up to a dark cloudy sky, and through the clouds an ominous-looking moon can be seen.
