Posted 6 years agoBL3 SAVED!
Posted 6 years agoPlayers have found an after-patch workaround for the Brawler Ward/FacePuncher combo!
Now if you'll excuse me I've got to go dive off a cliff repeatedly until my damage is off the charts.

Fallout 4 bug (Can't find any answers online!)
Posted 6 years agoSo I've messed around with mods in FO4 before. After losing interest in BL3 for the time being I decided to pop back into it.
Got a new little quest mod, worked just fine.
Grabbed another larger quest mod, had to finagle a few items to make it work due to some poor design, but I finally got it to work without crashing.
Yet now whenever I try to talk to most NPC's they go into a permanent cowering animation once the conversation starts.
I've tried everything I can think of or find online to stop this. Most results loop back to a bug with the battle of Bunker Hill, but I'm long past completing the game and never had any issues with it before. I found a simple console command to fix (specifically) the Bunker Hill bug and tried it to no avail.
The next thing I checked was if any of my other mods could be at fault. Very few if any deal with anything that could be related to this issue. I even disabled the previous smaller quest mod to see if that would help.
If anybody sees this and knows anything that might help please leave a comment.

BL3 back in the pooper
Posted 6 years agoSo it seems Gearbox patched out the Facepuncher/Brawler Ward/Bloodletter/Deathless bug. No more mega-damage, no more turbo-shields.
I was able to get my Deathless artifact shortly after my last journal and abused the crap out of this bug. As someone who doesn't want to grind for two months or god knows how long for one item of the perfect eight-piece skill tree augmented build, this got me to actually try mayhem mode. And subsequently crank it up to 4 immediately and farm like a madman.
Now that it's gone I've lost interest in the game again. Granted, there's the other three characters to play but A) gotta save that for down the road when I REALLY have nothing else to do and B) the story's kinda shit. I do enjoy the mechanics and the gameplay but I'm rather turned off by mayhem modes. Part of this comes from the fact that I watched someone on youtube grind M4 Maliwan Takedown with a Moze build focused on killing things with nothing but reloads. [60's Spiderman points over his shoulder] SHIT'S BROKE, YO.
The first DLC comes out next week. The plot was already discovered, thought to be cut content. Not sure how to feel.
Time to drown my woes in HMCC.

BL3 Build help?
Posted 6 years agoJust need one item to complete my build.
I'm looking for a Deathless artifact, been farming the bejeezuz out of mayhem 4.
Nothing is sadder than repeatedly running Graveward on m4 and getting 0 legendaries.
If anybody has one to spare on PS4, let me know.

Random idea
Posted 6 years agoSo I've been fiddling around a bit with Talk to Transformer, the AI that can complete text. I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in passing on ideas for me to feed it, or sharing your own results.
Selling/trading steam keys
Posted 6 years agoGot some stuff from Humble Bundle I'm not interested in. I accept paypal, art trades, just about anything. (Send a note if you're not sure.)
I'm thinking I'll start selling more of these as I get them/if there's enough interest.
Right now I'm offering:
-COD WWII
-Endowment Bravery Pack
-Endowment Fear Not Pack
-Spyro Reignited Trilogy

A thing
Posted 6 years agoYou all know how I sometimes post random meaningless poetry. (Only classified as such by the fact that it rhymes). I was bored and something tickled my brain. This happened.

"Have a drink"
Stay and don't tarry,
drink and be merry.
Eat and leave narry,
drink and be merry.
Your choices they vary,
so drink and be merry.
Drink and be merry,
think and be wary.

Posted 6 years agoI'd prefer to simply upload my work here on FA but unless my songs are only a few seconds long (see my latest submission) it throws an ERROR: 413 at me. For a one-minute-and-some-odd-seconds .wav file of 18MB. Is that really so much? It can't be the thumbnail I was trying to use. It's sized well within the specified range and is only 500-some KB.
In conclusion, FA just doesn't like my stuff. So if anyone happens to A) actually read this far and B) have a passing interest in my work, please check out gathamarblack.bandcamp.com for my latest work.
Fuckin' broke-ass servers can't upload jack-shit for no goddamn reason~

Posted 7 years agoI've got yet another weird idea (no surprise there).
Well I've had this one for a while and done nothing with it, so I might as well see if I get anything here.
The concept:
I've got a list of fake song names, some pretty wacky stuff. I'd like to pair them to existing songs as a way of bringing actual songs into a fictional universe.
How it works:
For those so inclined, note me. I can give you anywhere between one to thirty names (and if it applies, a description of what sort of song I'm looking for for particular names).
Example: A friend already came up with a few, so we've got stuff like "Baby Jail" (fictional, though I wouldn't be surprised if there was a song by that name) as the title for "Wake Up Hate" by Korn, or "Underhanded Fiddlefingers" (fictional) being a banjo cover of Slayer's "Angel of Death".
So, am I nuts or am I nuts or am I nuts?

Well this was a disappointment
Posted 7 years agoA while ago (at least a month at this point) I ordered some stuff online from a seemingly reputable site that had some deals on the stuff I was looking for. Said it should arrive in 10 days. Waited for a while to hear anything about it only to learn it was apparently coming from the Netherlands of all places. Didn't think much of it and continued to wait for it. Checked the tracking site regularly. Only a week or so ago did it finally arrive in the state. Hung for a while at their facility before they supposedly tried to deliver it to me.
I'm at school, I live in a dorm, and nine times out of ten anybody delivering food, mail, or otherwise has no problem finding it. Mail goes through the front desk who in turn sort it and email us when we have packages.
I received no email from the desk about anything. Found this sort of odd since last I'd checked the item was being sent out from the larger processing center in the next town. At that point I would've expected it within the week.
Instead, I just got an email from the site I bought it from saying it couldn't be delivered. They said they'd tried but it was listed as undelivered. Now I have the option to go pick it up or just let them send it back.
A. I'm not familiar to the area (I rarely leave campus if at all) and there's no way I'm going all the way out to the processing center because
B. I'm leaving for home early tomorrow and have no patience for such bullshittery.
TLDR: They can't deliver my shit I paid $60 for. Happened once before with a similar product.
Meh, fuck 'em.

Best not to acknowledge my 3am posts (drivel)
Posted 7 years agoLike the title says, it's 3AM. My mind's still ticking away, hungry for some sort of stimulation. Can't quite seem to find music to fit the mood, making it all the more bothersome. I just know that I want to write something.
As is oft the case with my passing moods in the wee hours, I want to write a story.
This led me through my collection of bookmarked and pinned random generators for something that might spark the creative process, to no avail.
If I had to describe the feeling, it would be like my creativity just stubbed its toe and is now hopping about my head clutching its metaphorical foot and spouting obscenities.
I suppose in that sense writing about it here is at the very least moving the metaphorical furniture to ease the situation if only a little.
There are stories I could be planning for, but I can't help but feel after being worked and presented for so long they've grown stale. That's not to say I won't come back to those ideas, rather I feel that a break is necessary (though this is coming off a rather long break of them already).
I want to write some kind of story that scratches the odd itch of a mood I often find myself in at this time, yet I can't for the life of me figure out what story that would be or what that mood is.

The start of....something. (Not sure what this is)

==============
I. (With "O Fortuna")
In the ninth age,
between the awakening of Zsicthoth the elder sleeper
and the downfall into ruin of Challaguggula,
during the reign of Biius,
it was by the word of Onelog-Kigota
that a champion was sent forth
to seek out and eradicate
the legions of Kaugal,
assemble the relics of Phact,
and slay the demon Math.
II. (With "Fortuna Plango Vulnera")
So the champion began his journey.
On the back of a blind horse he rode
Across wretched wastes
Until he reached a town with no name.
It was in that town he stopped
to rest and ensure its safety
from the legions of Kaugal.
While in that town,
he met a man with no past.
The man learned of the champion's journey
and joined him on his quest.
And so the champion and the man with no past
rode on through damned forests and over bottomless mountains
in search of Kaugal, Phact, and Math.

Venting? (advice welcome)
Posted 7 years agoI'm not quite sure this would be classified as a vent, but I figure it's close enough.
The long version:
So a while back I made First_Of_None as a dump for all the negative things I used to post in journals here.
Long story short, the things I put there ended up hurting my friends. Thus, First_Of_None was closed and any things that would be posted there have since been dumped into an actual private repository where they should have been in the first place.
Yet some things my friends have said have stuck with me and continue to rattle around my head, as oft such things do. (As I've said, such matters have been sorted elsewhere and will not be discussed here, save for one).
While normally the things I've journaled privately or otherwise have not greatly moved me, one latest writing has. I feel it has come from a place different than the others, and its message has shaken me. It should be noted that it was written in the wee hours of the morning under the effects of a large quantity of caffeine, but I can't deny the fact that it seems....something else than what is usually written.
========================
The short version:
I just wrote a personal journal to myself. Rather than my usual posts, this one actually scared me.
I know it's nothing to alert the media about, but it's left me feeling rather odd and I didn't know what else to do. Rather than compound it by writing another personal journal I, for whatever reason decided to write this one instead.
I suppose it could be the equivalent of waking in the middle of the night from a nightmare due to a strange sound in a quiet house. In such a situation I'd certainly welcome the company of someone to talk to, though I'd settle for a cup of hot chocolate and a book with the light on.
By tomorrow it'll just be another personal journal, but for now it's the tail end of something righteously unnerving.
If you've read this far, thanks for bearing with me. Feel free to drop a comment, on this matter or otherwise (needless to say I'd prefer otherwise). Let's talk.

Looking for a clip of a show, any help?
Posted 7 years agoI've tried google and youtube to no avail. Not sure, but I may be misremembering.
I think it was from a show called "Mr. Show". Between the skits there were often gag commercials and such.
I remember one where it was calm classical music as a man shouted random obscenities out an open window every few seconds.
Don't really know why I want to find the clip. Just remembered it and thought it was funny. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Normally I'd put this on First_Of_None, but
Posted 7 years agoit seems too weak and not quite the sort of thing I put there.
So I've had a handful of loose ideas lately for story stuff. Not just my usual "What if there's a space station and it's in the middle of a big ol' spacewar and there's aliens and--"
I mean like real ideas. Yet I feel that the people I usually discuss such things with aren't interested or don't care about the sort of things I'm aiming for.
Yet they keep nagging at me, wanting to be discussed and brainstormed, so I'm just gonna drop them here so they stop bothering me.
The first one is part of a Borderlands thing that's actually developed to have some unusual themes. I've been using character's visions of Zombie-TK Baha as a sort of guardian of the afterlife (i.e. his appearance in BL2's Halloween headhunter pack). I've created a character, KK, who acts as a sort of ex-machina when shit hits the fan, and decided they have a sort of connection, potentially impying KK can't die or has some control over death.
ANYWHO, that has little to nothing to do with the idea, that was just to illustrate the really off-kilter feel of some aspects.
The idea involves a character getting part of a weapon that they know has some otherworldly properties (it's essentially cursed). Over time they find the other pieces of the weapon, finally having it "blessed" by Zombie-TK himself. The idea I'd been working with was, "It'll only ever be fired once. Only then will you understand why." This was originally meant for the main villain, though I've since changed my thoughts. More recently I've been considering, "what if he never does?" It could just be a macguffin that haunts him to his dying days. A day or two ago I happened to listen through the soundtrack from Once Upon A Time In The West. (Great stuff). I remembered how for the man with the harmonica, the few notes of the theme are a sort of calling card and eventually remind the villain who he is. That got me thinking, "what if the gun is this character's version of that, or some variation thereof?"
The second idea is a bit more straightforward. Or not. If you were to glance back through some past journals, you might see something about an idea titled "Dry Chill". I've slowly been organizing a novel-like outline.
The prologue involves some sort of police officer/detective/etc. that gets involved with a case of multiple deaths. May or may not interlude throughout the main story, investigating the events after the fact. They will return in epilogue to close/reopen case.
Main story finds 4-5 20-something friends doing SOMETHING (fill in the blank) on a snowy mountain. (If you've read my other snippets on this idea, you'll remember it's influenced by the atmosphere of Until Dawn.) They learn that the weather is about to turn rather nasty and look for shelter. As the blizzard reaches the area, they find an old (Mansion/Hotel? I'm still not sure, but some sort of large abandoned building. Gotta be large to allow for exploration). One of the group has been injured in the mad rush to find shelter. One brave soul leaves immediately to try to get back to town to get help (though it's quite a ways off. This is a sort of horror story after all). After a long wait brings on cabin fever and worry, another member leaves around the height of the blizzard to look for the first or get to town or whatever. Thus, the injured one and one other are left. The injured one isn't doing so well, so the other goes to look for something in the building that might help. (The injury likely leaves them unable to walk).
It's at this point that I want it to take on a sort of old-school Gothic Horror element. That is to say, at least one of these two characters is a female that could unknowingly be waiting for or walking straight into trouble.
From the injured perspective, they'd likely be stuck in a large main area of the building as the blizzard hammers at the structure. Left there alone and under the effects of their injury, their mind kicks into overdrive. As the other searches the closer areas, they might be able to call out, but once they move deeper into the building and farther away, communication is cut off.
From the searcher's perspective, they find themself in unfamiliar territory (the proverbial damsel wandering the haunted castle, if you will.) as they look for something to help their friend. Their mind may also begin playing tricks on them (Or is there some other force at work here?). They might end up lost, or the building might not be truly abandoned. They might not be alone.
It's still a bit fuzzy at this point, as I don't know what I want the result of all that to be for those two.
Moving ahead, the blizzard eventually subsides. The first bold soul will have likely reached the town in the middle of the blizzard, only to learn that they can't send help back in suck inclement weather (*cough*THESHINING*cough*) They might be the only survivor.
The second one to leave, being dumb enough to leave at the blizzard's peak, is dead. Be it by their environment or some other force is as of yet undecided.
And as I've said, I don't know if the two still in the building survive.
Thus the epilogue, where the character from the prologue and potential subsequent interludes wraps up their understanding of the events.
MEANWHILE, my main computer has just turned itself off and refuses to turn back on. I would have discussed more on Dry Chill but this has broken my train of thought.

--Too hard to choose. I've been playing a lot of Fallout 4 and other assorted games, though you know I gotta rep the Borderlands. Rumors are spreading that the next one will be out soon...
2. Most nostalgic game?
--Probably something on gamecube (wii, technically, but let's not split hairs.) Still have a collection of GC games with fond memories.
3. Game that deserves a sequel?
--BRINK (That is to say, I'd like to see it remade as something better than just a thin story/campaign wrapped around a multiplayer-centric game with only a few maps. For example, find the "JAH LICK THEM WITH THUNDER" trailer on youtube. THAT'S what BRINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN.)
4. Game that deserves a remaster?
--See last question.
5. Favorite game series?
--BORDERLANDS.
6. Favorite genre?
--I tend to gravitate to FPS stuff.
7. Least favorite genre?
--Sports, some types of puzzle games, stuff like that.
8. Favorite song from a game?
--Can't choose, love the whole soundtracks.
9. Favorite character from a game?
--I'd find it hard to choose the more I thought about it, so the first thing that jumps to mind is Roland from the first Borderlands (before he suddenly turned all soulless and blah in BL2)
10. Favorite ship from a game?
--Too hard to choose, I guess anything super sci-fi.
11. Favorite voice actor from a game?
--Probably Dave Fennoy as Lee from The Walking Dead.
12. Favorite cutscene?
--Can't really choose. Not exactly something I'd pick a favorite from.
13. Favorite boss?
--Again, hard to choose, guess I'll pick Nightmare from Metroid Fusion. There's a lot of mystery surrounding its origins and the music is cool.
14. First console?
--Sega Genesis. Old Skool, biatch.
15. Current console or consoles?
--Wii, PS4, PS3 for nostalgia, Xbox One, PC.
16. Console you want?
--I'd like to get a Switch, but I'm poor as nuts.
17. Place from a game that you’d like to visit?
--Uh...all of them?
18. Place from a game that you’d like to live in?
--Eh...
19. Ridiculous crossover that would never happen but would be super fun?
--I'm not one for crossovers.
20. Book that would make a good game?
--I feel like a lot of the stuff from the Star Wars Novel Timeline would be cool. Rest in peace, 1313.
21. Show/Movie that would make a good game?
--Eh...
22. Games you want to play?
--Stuff on Switch mostly.
23. Have you gotten 100% completion in a game?
--Not much of a completionist, though if I'm playing a Lego game I usually will.
24. Have you cried over a game?
--Not directly, though a few good ones have messed with my brain or my feels. The Last of Us, The Walking Dead (We'll miss you, TellTale!).
25. What power-up or ability would you want IRL?
--Answer:YES.

News from First_Of_None
Posted 7 years agoTrying to find a meme (Help?)
Posted 7 years agoI think it was in a youtube poop or something, can't exactly remember.
It was an audio clip of someone (Pretty sure they sounded like Filthy Frank).
"HE'S AN ASS. FUCK 'EM."
Any help finding where this came from would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe someone here has the answer (web issue)
Posted 7 years agoI've been trying to deal with this issue for a while now and it's left me with a stick up my ass five miles long.
I don't use music players. Instead, I save playlists on youtube. I've got hundreds of saved playlists that I live on. Yet a while back I found that I couldn't access them on my laptop or desktop (for whatever reason it still works on my phone but that's bullshit).
If I go under my library and click on "Saved Playlists", I just get an Error 500 (thus, something on their end). It's been like that for about a month now.
I've tried googling multiple times to see if I can find any solutions. Anything I find is either from a couple years ago and irrelevant or pertains to phone app issues (of which I have none).
How do I feel about this? Have you ever played a game for ages only to have the save file be corrupted or lost? Yeah. Feels like that.
At most, I can see the most recent twelve playlists I've saved in the ribbon on my playlists page. Going to or sorting by Created Playlists has no problems. It's only my entire music library of playlists that I can't get to.
If anyone could suggest anything I'd greatly appreciate the help.
