Commissions Open
Posted 7 months agoFinally Upgraded to Moho
Posted 3 years agoChristmas has been and gone, and with it I have finally obtained the much needed upgrade from Anime Studio Pro 11 to Moho Pro 13.5, not to mention a much more powerful computer to run it. Rest in peace my previous PC which was suffering multiple failures trying to run anything graphically intense.
Personally I think an i9 is a bit overkill, but with this, anything feels possible and I'm eager to push it to it's limits and find out what it's capable of. I shall also be spending some time getting to grips with the new vitruvian bones feature in Moho and exploring the possibilities it offers me in allowing more fluid, dynamic and expressive animation. It is a feature I've wanted to use for many years now, so hopefully this can help me branch out into exploring more full body motion.
This December was rather a stressful time, as I caught Covid right over the time period where I would usually be buying gifts, this, combined with my failing PC and the fact many others were also falling ill or busy made it a rather lonely and difficult run-up to Christmas. I did not expect much, but I have been incredibly fortunate to have been given this program upgrade and PC on Christmas day, as the PC was a custom build by UK Gaming Computers and my order was jumped to first in the queue as my situation was explained to the individuals working there. I can not stress the amount of gratitude I have for them, their service and those who helped to get this computer to me. If you are also in the UK, I highly recommend them if you are ever considering getting a custom build.
I would also like to take this time to thank those of you who spend the time to comment on my artwork and animations here. I read every comment, and though I may not reply I do appreciate every word, each time reminding me of the selfless care and willingness to want to support and encourage artists for simply creating what they wish to. During these cold months, it's easy to become blinded by the stresses of life, so these reminders to the good will of others means a lot to me, thank you.
May you all have a kind end to 2022, and next year be a good one.

An Update, and an Answer
Posted 3 years agoThis is an announcement that I'm no longer taking commissions for animated avatars, at least, for now.
Maybe one day I'll bring them back, but it'll likely be very limited, so I am very sorry to be suddenly doing this, but hope you can understand it wasn't a quick decision and I had been planning to do this for some months now.
If you're actually interested as to why I'm stopping you're free to continue reading, but I will have to go over why my art slowed down so much the past few years, why my open communication via journals dried up, and why I had such a change of approach from when I used to function over on
slimytongues
A few years ago I was dealt one of the largest blows to my self confidence I'd ever been through, as a great many people I loved and cared about suddenly turned on me with zero warning, and zero attempts to communicate to potentially come to an understanding - as, ultimately, it was founded on a lack of it. My world fell apart, I was left unknowing who I could trust or turn to, and the reasons they harassed me for simply made me dig my heels in more so, and I became far worse as a result.
This is because, though while they claimed to be doing so out of some 'virtuous crusade', true help comes in the form of understanding, kindness, patience and a willingness to be gentle to others. What I'm talking about is essentially cancel culture, and it was what I was the latest target of at the time. They do not wish for you to improve, in their eyes you are beyond salvation and beyond help, this mentality is of course masked by their repeated insistence to 'see a professional', which, ironically, would likely be needed to recover from what they themselves did to me.
As much as I'd like to share their own belief that 'seeing a professional' would magically cure me of any ills I might have, or 'correct' my personality to one they can personally approve of, it unfortunately does not function that way, if what was offered here was of any actual quality in the first place. Mental health services are some of the worst in the country where I am, and had rather further added to my mental degradation both at the time and prior to the events, hence my previous reluctance, a concept they were unable to comprehend.
After I somewhat recovered from the shock, I stopped trying to see any mental health professionals, both as an act of defiance and because deep down I knew that was the right thing to do. As a result, I was no longer subjected to their apathetic questioning, probing and careless treatment of my emotions and personal trauma, and actually began to improve mentally. But this was not enough.
Though a great many left me to my fate, a select few remained, and have proven themselves to be loyal, dedicated, honest, patient and most of all, understanding to my plight, my journey and sympathetic to the harassment I had received.
Some of this harassment is still visible on my comment section in my gallery, some I hid in panic. This panic was due to the fact I was being tracked down on all of my accounts, and I ultimately could not block them quickly enough before their messages would get through. I no longer know what those people are doing, nor do I ever want anything to do with any of them, ever again.
I'm no stranger to harassment or hate, but to be subjected to it so suddenly in such quantity all at once with zero warning from those I thought were my friends was the most painful experience I have ever been through. If any of them are reading this right now, I truly hope you don't subject anyone else to such a torturous experience, because not everyone can survive that level of abuse. I almost didn't.
Why am I saying all of this now?
Well the honest answer is that I've been in a state of recovery ever since. What I was put through really hurt me, and maybe if they knew that it would make them smile, but now that doesn't matter, because in spite of them attempting to rule and control my life decisions I have still made my own path and now I feel confident enough to try to explore life a little more again. My way.
The animated avatars I did because they were simple enough that in doing them I was able to make some money while giving myself some small goals, and the sense that I could still do something that others wanted from me. That not everyone hated me. It was an important step, but now I'm ready to go beyond that.
Thank you everyone for helping me get this far, I genuinely can't convey just how much it means to me to have the friends that I have, and the new family I have made. I may not have been able to type this today had it not been for their patience and understanding.
Thank you everyone, and I look forward to sharing my future with you all.

FA Avatar Size Limit Increase
Posted 3 years agoAs I saw in the latest FA news post, located Here, they have increased the max avatar size from 55kb to 75kb, this will mean I can save off higher quality silhouette avatars for those who are commissioning them for use on FA. Thus from this point on all future FA sized avatars will be set to this larger file limit as opposed to the previous 55kb limit.
This isn't a huge change, and this does not enable coloured avatars to still be successfully compressed, so they remain as a commission type with the disclaimer that they are not suited for FA avatars.
Those who have previously commissioned me, as I give you the individual frames you should be able to create a new gif that fits to this limit. However if you're unsure how, let me know and I can either do it for you or walk you through the steps so you can yourself.

Coloured Animated Icons
Posted 5 years agoColoured Animated Icons
We are offering coloured fully rigged and animated vector avatars. We can animate pretty much any motion you want, but if you're unsure you're free to ask. We can also draw in many different art styles, if you want your character to look in a Disney, Don Bluth, kemono, Digimon, or any other artist's style, just show it to us and we'll try our best to emulate it. Our team* is very versatile, if you have a strong idea of what you want, let us know.
(*Actually all done by one pair of hands.)
Will Do
- Fanart/OCs
- Anything with an animal face.
- Humans BUT there must be an incredibly clear reference sheet of which I will directly use for this animation model. (Humans aren't my forte but you're free to back out if you don't like the sketch)
- Characters with simple markings and hair.
- Lip Sync (Must provide audio)
- Any angle
- Looping animations or completely unique animation till the end of your time frame, (It's assumed you want a looping one unless you tell me otherwise)
Won't Do
- Mechanical characters, (Cars, robots etc)
- No large turns for a complex rig.
- Nothing adult/kink/fetishes etc.
All prices are estimates.
Need a converter?
Base Price
£65
- Example
>>> Extras <<<
- Lip sync to audio clip - +£10-£20 (Depends what the clip is)
Lip Sync Example
- Blurry Background - Free
- Complex background - Varies (Ask me for a quote, may include animation effects in price)
- Simple effects in the background - +£3 (Birds, insects, dust, bubbles etc)
- Each unique effect* frame with character +£1 each (You'll want at least 3 frames for most effects to look decent)
(*Breathing fire, magic, electricity, dripping slime etc)
- Eye glow +£5 (It's way harder than it needs to be in this program)
- Props - If no complex rig - +£5
- Props - Complex rig required +£10
(Props are an item that interacts with the character, holding a bone in their mouth, a plush toy, chewing on meat etc)
Video Version - Due to the extra work this now costs an additional £3
Animation Length
Animations run at 24 FPS by default but if you want this changed let me know before I start animation. (I won't go over 60fps)
Default - Up to 5 seconds FREE
Every additional second +£1
What you Get:
You get a 500x500 pixels gif version of your avatar in as best quality as I can squeeze out of Photoshop.
A ???x??? sized gif that FA will actually let you upload to your gallery, adjusted to the biggest size I can possibly do.
A 100x100 gif that will NOT fit FA's avatar size requirement, but still good for other sites.
And all of the individually rendered frames for you to print out en masse and throw into the streets,
all packed into a ZIP file and hosted on Dropbox for you to download.
If you want anything else let me know.
FAQ
COLOURED ICONS ARE TOO BIG TO USE FOR FURAFFINITY
55kb is just way too small to contain all the colour information these avatars carry with this smooth frame rate, sorry but take it up with the site not me.
A second character counts as a second commission. (Same prices)
I do not offer the .anme files as something you can have, sorry.
My turn around is usually under a week once I've started on your commission if nothing comes up for me. It's unlikely to take longer but life can be unpredictable. I'll never keep you waiting longer than a month. If I do you're free to shoot me.
Models can be reused as many times as you like. If you want multiple different animations with the same rig I can do that. Want one animation where your character's happy, one where they're sad and one where they're pissed off? I can do that. Each animation will be charged past the original base price for the initial animation. So you only get the free animation the very first time you commission the model.
It is unlikely you can upgrade a head rig here into a full body later, but sometimes there are exceptions if you let me know you might be interested at a later date I'll keep it in mind while rigging.
Yes I can animate motion to the beat of a music track, just let me know before I start.
I can export these animations as GIFs (the assumed standard), .PNG individual frames, .MP4, .AVI and can attempt a .SWF but it will not be antialiased in this format. Honestly take Flash format at your own risk I've not had much luck with it.
Sorry I can't make them transparent for you, but you're free to make those edits yourself. In fact you can edit them however you like afterwards, attach dildos onto your character's face I don't care, just make sure you always credit me as the original artist and link back here. Ty.
Payment taken in full via Paypal only after I've shown you the unrigged model. Due to taking money after already having drawn the model, refunds (if you really hate my art that much lol) will be for 50% or less of the total amount paid.
You will be messaged with updates and shown WIPs via Discord if you let me know your contact details on there. I like to work very closely with my clients to make sure you get exactly what you're paying for. If you're not happy with it, then I'm not happy with it.
--Form--
Please note me with the following form either while claiming a slot or immediately after, saying something along the lines of "Claiming simple rig slot" in the comments. This journal will be updated with your slot and status at the top.

Comms Opening Again Soon + Something Big
Posted 5 years agoJust a heads up that I will be opening up for some more commission slots soon, but I'm thinking I might offer something a little different alongside some icon slots.
Interested in having your character sing along to part of a song in a music video presentation? The style will still be my silhouette style for now as there's just far too much work in doing full coloured at the moment, but if you want an example of my lip sync work you can check out this recent animation test here. Just imagine this but in flat colours lol
The price will vary a lot depending on the length of the clip you give to me, but I'm thinking anywhere between 30 seconds to a minute. Slower music with slower speaking can go on for longer while fast talking with a lot going on would need to be shorter. I'm trying to scale it to around the same amount of work, essentially.
Music Speeds:
This would be very fast, have a lot going on, and take far more work. So I could only do a small portion of it, I may also scream at you for suggesting this.
This would be what I'd call 'average' speed.
A waltz like this would be considered 'slow'.
The amount of characters/models done varies again on what the music is and the ideas that I can see through the music, but it's NOT just going to be one model singing static at one angle, that is not what I'm offering. I'm offering multiple angles, background changes, camera movement to essentially make a small portion of a music video.
If you want an absolutely ancient example that I've done, it'd be something like THIS. Just with better rigging, more motion and generally just looking better because that was done in 2014 good lord.
Things to Consider
Characters with a distinguishable silhouette.
Colour scheme - It's not limited to just black and white,.
A song clip that feels concise on it's own. If it feels weird cutting the lyrics off at that point, find another spot or another song. You'll thank yourself for it later.
What's your budget? I'll try and work to what you're willing to go to as much as possible but sometimes if you want quality it will have to cost.
What Type of Music I'll Go For
Alas I don't like every genre, and this isn't first come first serve, so here's some music genres I enjoy a lot:
- Classical Hardcore Hybrid
My absolute favourite music genre. Combines the hard bass kicks of electrona with the complex melodies of classical music. Bonus points if it's Gothic themed.
- Most Electronic Music
However I'm not fond of dubstep and D&B can be a hit or miss for me.
- Movie Musicals
I have a soft spot for things like Disney musicals and I'd honestly really enjoy to do any of the villain songs from one.
- Electro Swing
Just generally fun stuff.
- Anime Openings
Depends what it is, but they can usually lend their way naturally to animation.
Most other music I'm fairly neutral on but I'm sorry I really don't like rock or metal music very much at all. I know it's incredibly popular but I've never been able to get into it. Your dreams of being a screamo death metal furry will have to remain dreams for now.
The Price
The moment everyone has been dreading, oh no.
I'm thinking of putting the average around £200 and it may fluctuate up or down from that mark depending on your specific idea. One minute is damn long in animation terms and this is not only covering all of the drawings, rigging and animation, but also the design, composition, storyboarding and background work. This is not a small thing and I won't just accept any idea for it.
So, hoping that's given everyone some things to mull over and think about, feel free to contact me just to get an idea of what I can do, bounce ideas off of me without committing to anything but please keep it to comments in this journal, not notes. This will also likely be open for a while when I do open the slot, so there's likely no rush.

Cheap & Simple or Pricey & Elaborate?
Posted 5 years agoSomewhat of an interest check for opening commissions again as I was thinking about other animation 'templates' I could offer.
So I pose the question, would you be more interested in cheaper simple (yet still quality) animations that most people could afford, or more complex elaborate animations that easily reach over the £100+ range?
What's your reasoning, and would there be any requirements for the type of content it'd have to be? Eg. "I'd be willing to pay any price as long as you animate my weird fetishes."
I've always liked the idea of my animations being accessible to as wide a range of people as possible, and giving people a level of animation quality that honestly isn't really seen around much. Which is why my prices in the past have always been undercharging a bit, and though I'm having to put them up due to a few reasons, I'd still like to give everyone the chance to have an animation from me if they're wanting one.
A Side note: Still on the fence about opening up coloured animated avatars, but it's something I'm constantly mulling over, so I'll keep you posted.

Silhouette Animated Icons

FAQ
Models can be reused as many times as you like. If you want multiple different animations with the same rig I can do that. Want one animation where your character's happy, one where they're sad and one where they're pissed off? I can do that. Each animation will be charged past the original base price for the initial animation. So you only get the free animation the very first time you commission the model.
Note: if you don't use up all of your free seconds you can make it two or more separate animations for free. (Eg. Two 5 second animations or one 3 second and one 7 second.)
It is unlikely you can upgrade a head rig here into a full body later, but sometimes there are exceptions if you let me know you might be interested at a later date I'll keep it in mind while rigging.
Colours are not locked into black and white, but must be only two colours with one third colour permitted for highlights like eyes, very small markings etc.
Please please know what motion you want BEFORE commissioning. Models are rigged with the motion already in mind, if you change your mind about the motion after the rigging stage I likely won't be able to do that without either redoing or performing major edits to the rig and I will have to charge you a rather large edit fee that will make me feel bad and you feel bad. Don't do it.
If your animation is past 5 seconds long it likely will not be small enough to work as an FA avatar not without making it look like hot garbage anyway. Please keep this in mind if it's what you're hoping to use it for. FA only accepts avatars under 55kb which is like trying to fit the entire Bee Movie into a GBA cartridge. Use these avatars on Discord or something if you actually want to keep the original frame rate and quality.
