Posted 3 weeks agoUpdates : Sorry for the quietness, it's been rather rough offline but over all, we'll be fine.
My brother has tried to use my mom again for money, which she resisted. We ran out of food money due to a sudden rise of renewed bills that hot all at once, so we've been eating whatever we got from free food pantries and making it last... but the lack of food has made us a bit sluggish. We got our funds for usual food now, don't worry.
((animals were well fed, I tend to buy in bulk which I did a bit ago, before we knew about the changes to some policies))
We had some mice get inside and attack some of our quail chicks. We had been focused on setting traps, fixing, and making sure the wounds were cleaned. Everyone is fine now, but mice are real brutal and will rip the scalp first. Wasn't nice.
We have also been prepping for the cold, so I've been offline a bit for that. Among not feeling well physically, which made me slow, but I've already wrapped up a nice section of orders and working on the rest of the ones I have started! I'll be trying to get as much done this week as possible.

Posted 2 months agoSorry for a delay, been a mix of busy or having down time. Built some things and I was in pain for a few days after so I hadn't been on the tablet too much.
However tomorrow I'm back to work normal hours! Thank you for your patience.
I do have some things to send out I did do when I had the energy. But looking to wrap up everything this month.
And chicks are doing well, had a lot of hatches! They're so sweet.

Pet Poultry Update 🥚🐔
Posted 2 months agoWe have had 9 coturnix quail chickens hatch successfully! They're so cute, so friendly, and will run to your hand and snuggle. One of them is only happy when hugging your finger.
We'll be keeping the hens of this clutch, and then look for hopefully pet homes for the males. We are breeding our quail to show people they can make excellent companions. They are really underrated and misunderstood. Like all my birds, they have space, a good diet, and toys to play with but some homesteaders have complained that I give them anything but a one-layer wired cage with nothing, and that my quail "are incapable of loving humans". I don't find that true, so we are proving it.
Same for geese, people assume they're always aggressive but that is untrue.
We also have currently about 7 chicken eggs starting to hatch ( kikiriki x frizzle serema ). We hear chirping and see some breaches!!
We still have some duck and more recently laid chicken eggs still incubating but they're going well.

Posted 4 months agoSorry for a delay on art & communications! Been a wild week. All good stuff, just exhausted!
- A few months ago, a family member handed me a bunny and asked me to find a home for him. They aren't internet savvy and trust me to vet for a good home. However after four months of people ghosting me even though he's a free bunny, we decided we'll be the home, because he was just sitting in the small cage he came in and we hated it. I've spent a few days building a 10 foot hutch & run. He's getting a friend soon so he isn't lonely.
- I also had to build a coop for the juvie chickens since they were too big for the brooder but too small for the giant coop (that's also in progress) at the same time.
- Been makin' local deals for local farm feed & bedding so I've been running around grabbing some stock. Since I'm the only one who can carry heavy items, I've had to lift and carry multiple 50-100 lbs of food and hay, haha.
- I also exploded in terms of garden... I was able to get a handful of parrot&chicken friendly 🩷 PINK 🩷 tree and flower seeds!! I'm going to be landscaping a part of the land to be a pink wonderland. So I was prepping for those seeds to come in.
- Unsure how many know this but I grow bird friendly plants for them to shred and forage. I have a lot of sprouts coming in so I had to tend to them and care for em, lol.
Anyways most of that is done with for now so I have a few 'down' days where I'm inside, so I'll be back to work!

Well, time for a new phone - Slow!
Posted 4 months agoMy phones screen only recognizes touch on half the screen! Ouch! I can't open some things without taking a backwards funky way. I'll be a bit slow til my new phone comes in.

Updates: Ducks, Geese, and ER
Posted 6 months agoBefore my last update journal on a family member passing, we had adopted three ducklings.
Updates now - we have a flock of 4 ducklings, 3 adult ducks, and 3 goslings. Absolutely in love with them all. For those interested: 3 pekins, 1 call duck, 3 Swedish black ducks, and 3 African geese.
The geese are amazing guards and I love them.
I think it's funny I am just a bird person with my aviary and now waterfowl flock.
Anyways aside from good stuff, i got a cold and just as i got over that I got sick that is not related to birds or flu and ended in the ER two or three nights ago. Intense pain and bleeding and I hadn't eaten for 3 days. I'm home now and recovered mostly. Still sore but on killer antibiotics as well as like a buffet of meds (yuck). I hate taking meds. I hate my auto immune body 😒
I am working and making updates to coms that need changes! Sorry for being so slow. Promise they'll be done soon ish!
I do need to post a few adopts to help cover some med costs but it's mostly putting back what I had to spend and not a "if I don't make money I'm screwed" thing. So you'll see one offs a bit on and off while I finish owed work. Nothing fantastic but just something to help.

Posted 10 months agoSO GOOD NEWS - my procedure is DONE.
I am already feeling better.
However... lmao...
The local anesthesia shots they gave me didn't exactly work. As they started working through my nerves, I'd feel sharp intense pain and they tried so hard to apply more local anesthesia in various ways. I probably had like 8 or 9 doses and it just wouldn't take. Didn't help they had to keep going in and digging deeper because the nerve they were extracting was all kinds of fucked up.
The pain I felt was on par with my last two weeks so I gripped the chair and deadass told them to keep going. I have been in THAT much pain for weeks now I just sucked it the fuck up for another hour.
Bye bye you stupid fucked up nerves. 💪
ANYWAYS IM HERE AFTER MANY TEARS and wails the poor guy working on me felt so bad i think he almost cried - I know his assistant did. Feeling better already tho~ hardly any actual residue pain but my body feels beat to shit today and I'll likely feel it tomorrow. FEELS SO GOOD TO NOT HAVE THAT SAME PAIN AWYEA
I'll be easing back into work tomorrow~

Posted 10 months agoSorry if I'm slow during this period. I've been dealing with a physical health issue that sends intense pain through my neck, cheek, and entire face side and makes it so I am unable to focus on anything except for 30 minute intervals.
I have been to the ER but I have a procedure scheduled for Jan 8th. It's just... until then trying to manage the pain. And even the top dose pain meds prescribed don't take it away.
During this time I will not be working on commissions because I don't feel like I'd put my best foot forward for quality. I may doodle random stuff in moments I'm able to function... but I don't want to work on owed work because I feel like I won't have the quality I normally do. I'm also getting high to take my pain off the edge. I tend to do weird stuff high or in pain.
If any commissioners have an issue with this / the extra wait please feel free to contact me.
