Character Musings
Posted 2 years agoI am debating merging two characters, primarily because I've not done ANYTHING with them in ages. Also once merged, changing their species.
Dominique and Sheera. They're both human, and as I said, I've done nothing with them in a long, long time.
As it happens, for various reasons, I want a half-elf character. So my thought is to turn Dominique into a half-elf, but give her Sheera's colouration (both skin and hair). She'll stay a t-girl of course, but her extra will be scaled down to a suitable size for a half-elf.
Anyway, just putting that out there.
Also, F5 if you like, since I've switched icons.

Entitlement Part Deux: The Parting Shot
Posted 4 years agoSo Maroon. has made it abundantly clear that they do not like dickgirl aermorphs (nor male aeromorphs either, it seems), and that they do not respect anyone who draws dickgirls. This apparently makes it perfectly OK for them to alter art they don't like. Actual comment received today:
"Too sad I hardly give a #### about opinion of someone who draw dickgirls. I respect your work in general, but I can not live with the futa aeromorphs or male aeros as well.
And also, as I mentioned before, I'm not planning on posting altered version anywhere except for a few folks in VK who are waiting for me to finish my work(I'm on it rn btw). I do NOT claim my copyright on this art, because it's obliviosly not mine and it's very easy to figure out. I respect people drawing things and having their rights on their art. I just do not like dickgirls. This is the thing. I hope you understand.
P.S- Yes, I disrespect anyone who draw dickgirls and you aren't excluded. Be happy." (Today's comment) (Entire comment exchange archived as of 21 Jan)
As I pointed out in my reply:
1) Maroon is a raging hypocrite, because they have three pieces of dickgirl aermorph art favourited, all by renthedragon (who is a most excellent aeromorph artist, by the way!). Proof: Maroon's favourites; please to note the three pieces I mentioned in Maroon's favourites gallery; last three on the 1st page of the gallery as of today. Also archived today (21 Jan) in case Maroon unfavourites them in an effort to hide their raging hypocrisy.
2) They do in fact intend to post the altered artwork somewhere - so they lied the first time, because of course they did.
3) Just because they don't claim copyright on the altered version doesn't mean they aren't violating copyright on my original version.
I don't see much point to continuing to let them pollute the comments, but I'm going to leave them in place - and, as mentioned above, the entire post, including Maroon's comments, has been archived, just in case their comments mysteriously disappear. So there will be no further posts on this from me, unless they are stupid enough to post an altered version somewhere and I see it, in which case DMCA take-down notices will be filed on the hosting sites.
Artists who draw dickgirls, especially aeromorph dickgirls, I advise you to keep an eye out for altered versions of your work showing up as well.
ETA: (21 Jan, 23:30) - and Maroon has in fact removed the dickgirl aeromorph pics from their favourites here on FA. Unfortunately for them, the fact that they had them favourited is still archived, demonstrating their hypocrisy. There is no Delete key on the internet.

Entitlement Part Deux Continued
Posted 4 years agoThe continuing saga of someone who doesn't like that Nicole has a dick, as seen in "Nike Aroused". Unfortunately, FA cannot do anything on a stated intention since it hasn't actually happened yet. So I am going to name and shame here. If you look down in the comments thread on the post, you'll see an individual by the name of Maroon. - well-named, as it turns out; for this person is indeed a maroon. Perhaps one of those 'o's should be deleted.
At any event, after I responded to their "Alt version without dick please" to point out that Nicole is (a) my character and (b) this is art that I drew, for myself, their response was to say they'll simply copy the piece into Photoshop and alter it to suit themselves anyway. I replied to that to say I specifically do NOT permit them to alter it nor post it. This was, in retrospect, an error; obviously I cannot prevent them making a copy on their computer then editing as they please.
This... individual, let us call them (for lack of a socially acceptable label that nonetheless conveys my dislike for their attitude to other people's property) responds with "Yeah, yeah, sure." then goes on to say they aren't going to post it, just they "need" - their words - a "normal" version.
Who the actual FUCK do they think they are to decide what is and isn't normal? In this community? In aeromorph art, where - at a guess - easily 50% of the characters are t-girls? The sheer arrogance of this individual astounds me. Further, this person, this aptly-named Maroon. is doubling-down on their attitude that they have the right to want changes to art that was not intended for them and for which they didn't pay, and that this therefore gives them the right to alter it on their own. They say they don't plan to post the altered version anywhere; I call bullshit. Of course they're going to post it somewhere and trumpet it as being their work, instead of being a rip-off of mine.
I know I am committing the cardinal sin of letting this person live rent-free in my head on this, but I can't just ignore this. This is my character, this is art I drew, and their attitude tells me they have NO respect for artists. Those who create art and share it here for the rest of us to enjoy, particularly those who draw any kind of non-binary characters, and VERY particularly those who draw aeromorph art (since that seems to be what they like most, going by their favourite pieces) please be wary of this person. It's entirely possible if they like something you drew but with that terrible, evil appendage, they may well decide to "improve" your work for you whether you want it or not.
For myself, I am using the Archive service mentioned in FA's trouble ticket system to preserve the conversational thread in case this maroon's comments mysteriously vanish from FA.

Entitlement Part Deux
Posted 4 years agoApparently yesterday someone was looking at my gallery. Specifically, at "Nike Aroused", the pic of Nicole the Avro Arrow showing off her all. Their comment? "Alt version without dick, please".
My initial inclination was to rip into them and perhaps use some unladylike language. I settled for saying "Allow me to point out this is character is my creation, made to suit my likes and dislikes. If you don't like my character, you're free to not look at her. However, asking me to create an alternate version strikes me as more than a little self-important on your part. You might as well as me to make her into an F-22 or something; I'd be just as set against that. Also, be advised that the majority of my characters are cockgirls. Please refrain from asking for "alt version without dick" of any of them as well. "
AITA for thinking that was a pretty entitled comment for them to make?
ETA: I do have a screencap of it in case the comment mysteriously vanishes.
ETA2: To be clear, I don't think this was so egregious that I need to report the person in question to FA staff. This is annoyance, no more.

Ask Me Anything!
Posted 4 years agoSo this is my first time doing this... and it's not quiiiiiiite Ask Me Anything. Rather, it's Ask My Characters Anything. In other words, in-character answers to questions you pose them. Um. The only character not participating right now is Zasiphoriel. But Rhiannon, Sh'sthress, Perseus, Isra Malai, Dominique, Sheera, and Nicole 'Nike' Dupré will be happy to answer questions addressed to them. I'll let this run for 48 hours; I don't want to over-do my first one. So ask away!
On Whiny Entitled Commenters
Posted 4 years agoShared from my SoFurry account, since this took place over there.
I don't normally comment on people's comments, but I feel moved to do so today, since I received a comment from hotman4u (SoFurry link) to the effect that he found my story "The Company Christmas Party" (SoFurry link) "gross." Why? Because, in his words, he "was enjoying the story until you gave the girl a cock."
Oh dear. Oh my goodness. He doesn't like a story because of the gender of one of the characters.
Quick, hand me my smelling salts; he didn't like what I wrote!
Let me just point out for those who don't feel like going to his profile (or who don't have access to SoFurry) that he himself has contributed nothing of value to the community there. His gallery is void of any work; all he's done is comment on other people's work. Further, as I noted when I posted the story, and as I pointed out to him - since apparently he missed it - I wrote the story for a friend. Not for him. So his comment to the effect that he didn't like it is a perfect example of entitled whinging. To him, it doesn't matter that the story was written for someone else; all that matters to him in his basement is that he didn't like it, because it had a girl with a cock! Clearly it was of utmost importance that he inform me of his unhappiness and displeasure! Because obviously, knowing that he is unhappy with it, it's my duty to immediately leap into action and edit the story so that he will find it pleasing!
Critique is not a problem; I am quite certain my work can stand improvement. That said, this is a finished piece; published with all its flaws, for good or ill. This is not a work in progress for which I had solicited feedback; and even if I had, critique should identify and discuss specific problems and, ideally, present possible solutions. His comment was not critique; it was uninvited judgment as well as unfounded complaint. He was enjoying the story up to when he found out Rhiannon has a cock, then he felt cheated. Well, boo hoo, my child. You have no grounds to feel cheated because this story was not written for you. You didn't pay for it; none of your characters - assuming you had the creativity to create any - are present in the story. I don't have a problem with someone not voting for something they don't like; that's how an adult handles it - read it, not like it, move on. A comment to the effect that "I read something that I didn't even have to pay for, and which was written for someone else's enjoyment, and I didn't like it! Whaaaaaaaa!" is the very acme of whiny entitlement expressed by man-babies.

Looking for a volunteer?
Posted 6 years agoI have a vignette which I want to write and which may, possibly (hopefully) become a full story. I need a submissive herm character. While Rhiannon is herm, shi is most certainly NOT submissive, not even moderately. Nothing wilder than light bondage, being made airtight, with some side kinks depending on how things unfold. If you volunteer your OC and are accepted, you'll get a copy of the vignette/story with permission to re-post as you please, with the usual proviso about keeping the copyright information intact. If you'd like to volunteer, please send me the info on the OC you're volunteering. A ref sheet would help so I can properly describe the character, and a few notes on their general personality, accent if they have one, other traits (scent, etc.) that might come up would be very welcome.
Thank you very much for your time.
Update 28 Aug - Volunteer selected, and thank you all!

Boost the signal!
Posted 6 years agoA very dear friend of mine and a long-time member of our community here,
Bishiebunny, is trying to help out his family. He's not asking for money sent to him, but to his family member's GoFundMe. What follows is his plea:
https://www.gofundme.com/save-sarahs-shelter
At this point, I'm sure you're tired of the maudlin ramble so I get right to it. This link leads to my sister's GoFundMe page. I did the write up for it, and there you'll find a few more specifics about what is going on and how you can help. If you are in a position to toss a buck or two at it, I ask that you do so. If not, if you could simply share the link or this journal entry about your social media sites, I'll be eternally grateful.
You don't have to give much, or any at all, really. Sharing or even just caring will mean the world to her. Just let her know that she's not alone in all this.
A certain other bun reminded me how tapped out and exhausted everyone is these days, how it's unfair to ask without offering anything in return. I don't have much that isn't already promised, and I don't really want to tie in my silly porn ramblings to my sister's continued survival. However, I do have something I can offer.
Anyone who responds to this journal, letting me know they shared the GoFundMe link or tossed a few bucks toward its goal, include the phrase, "Cameo Please!" to your reply. I'll immediately send a note about the specifics of your interest while adding you to a special Cameo List.
The full text of his plea is here: /journal/9103246/
To his voice, I add my own. Please, if you can help, no matter how little, please do. If all you can do is boost the signal, please do. Bishie is one of ours, and I cherish the hope and thought that we here care about each other, that we are indeed a community, a village. One of our own needs help now, not for himself, but for his family. Please rally to his aid.
I've disabled comments as I would rather people go to his journal and comment their support there.
Thank you. Bright Lady's blessings on you all.

Tumblr is dead...
Posted 7 years ago... at least to NSFW artists and contributors. So I've taken down my link to my Tumblr. Oh, my account is still there, but I've stripped it and there is one post in barren ground, the ground that used to be Rhiannon's Grove.
I'm in the process of building a new grove for my horsegirl on Sharesome, now. The site is new, still in beta, still growing and working out the bugs, but it's expressly intended for erotica and pornography. They may fail on other grounds, but not for lack of being a welcoming space for kink. AND! for those who are looking - they have a Tumblr import tool! I don't know how well it works as I've not been able to download my archive of the Grove - hoping Tumblr support will be able to help with that.
Go check out Sharesome. You can find Rhia's presence there at https://sharesome.com/Rhiannon/.

Ponderment
Posted 7 years agoI'm thinking about what I might commission next, and it occurs to me it would be fun to get some WH 40K art. I'd kind of like to see Rhiannon as one of the Adeptas Sororitas, but shi'd be heretical just by hir nature - hermaphroditic and not pure human. Dominique I'm not sure about; would a human t-girl be heretical? Sheera wouldn't have anything to do with being a Sister of Battle; they're far too namby-pamby for her. She'd be a Space Marine, and quite possibly on the side of Chaos.
Thoughts?

Happy Independence Day!
Posted 9 years agoTo all my American friends; celebrate your freedom. And never, never forget that it's far, far easier to let your freedom slip away, little by little, than it is for someone to take it. "Those who would purchase security at the price of liberty will get neither." Stay vigilant, dear friends.
Furry Network...
Posted 9 years agoI'm there now. However, I created the account under the name rhiannon. I am debating whether or not to create other character sub-accounts there as well? Or just use folders to corral things together? Thoughts?
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY
Posted 11 years agoHappy 4th of July to my American friends and neighbours. Stay strong, free and proud, and be vigilant. The enemy outside the gates is a known danger; the actions of well-meaning countrymen is unknown, and therefore the greater danger to liberty.

No, I'm not leaving FurAffinity. I see a number of people who are saying they will, for various reasons, including (apparently) a new staff member. I do not know who this is, nor do I care. I do not know why certain parties are up in arms about it, nor do I care. Please do not post anything in this journal to tell me who it is or why they are the focus of so much angst; I do not want to know. In all seriousness, please do not tell me.
So.
All that said, I do have an account on Weasyl, and have had since the site went into public beta. If nothing else, as with any data service, it makes sense to have alternate data storage. For similar reasons, as well as FurAffinity's (fairly mild) aversion to Second Life snapshots, I also have a Flickr account.

This will be for my SL pictures and (possibly) machinima. Stuff posted here I consider as much my art as things I've drawn, because I do invest time and effort in taking the pictures, cropping them properly, adding postwork effects (lighting adjustment/fixes, some special effects) and finally presenting them (looking like old-style photos in an album, complete with the little corner holders, or as frames on a film negative, etc.)
In other words, there probably won't be much more SL stuff posted here at all, and that will include my in-character account, rhiannon

[DERPINESS] The Sequel!
Posted 12 years agoTwo un-faves and an unwatch notice today, which happens from time to time. The only reason I feel impelled to comment was the accompanying note from ***** and a shout from *****.
Apparently, ****** is upset because I shouted a thank-you for the fave to them. If I'd read through their profile - including their "RULES" journal link - I would have found out that thanking them for watches or faves is grounds for them to remove said watch or fave. Well, really - if you feel that strongly about it, *****, why not put it top and center on your profile page? I'm far more likely to see that, when I go to shout a thank-you, than to dig through the five journal links you have expanding on your profile.
The shout, from ******, informed me they were unfaving and unwatching me because I didn't thank them for the fave. I suppose I thanked them for the watch whenever they did watch me; I do tend to do that. Thanking for faves I don't usually do, unless for some reason I feel like it, which is what caused ***** above to get shirty. Failing to thank ***** led them to shout their announcement of their departure.
These two are drama mavens, that's all I can think to call them. The FA system keeps unfaves and unwatches anonymous, so the only way I would have to know it was them is via shout or note, and the only reason I can think of to shout or note such a thing is to cause drama - an explosion of OMGWTFBBQ someone on the Internet is upset with me!
I'm very sorry, both of you, but I'm afraid I'll have to disoblige you. It's mildly regrettable that you no longer wish to have quick access to those pieces, or to follow my admittedly peripatetic gallery contributions, but your action doesn't deprive me of anything, and I don't really see what it gets you. Feel free to re-fave any time you choose, and blessed be.

National Rifle Association RAGE!
Posted 13 years agoThe NRA has finally spoken on the subject of the murders in Newton. Their solution to the problem? Put armed security in every school in the US.
I just... I can't even begin to follow the twisted, so-called logic of their argument. Seriously?! The solution to this horrific event is to turn schools into armed camps?! Do they not even begin to see the potential problems? One that immediately leaps to mind is this: how do school boards ensure that every one of these armed security officers is mentally stable, not a pedophile, etc.? Because all it would take is one guard going off his nut and going on a murder spree; or one of them sexually assaulting a student... or both. The uproar that would follow would dwarf what's followed the Newton murders.

The NRA is part of the problem as far as I'm concerned. Anyone who reads this and thinks the NRA's idea is a good one, do NOT post. I am in no mood for it.

Newtown
Posted 13 years agoGuardians of the East, the South, the West, the North;
Strong Powers that guard and ward and defend;
Earth and Water, Fire and Air here gathered.
The bright, unquenchable spirits of the slain innocents, may they return swiftly on the Great Wheel. Speak to the hearts of those who remain on this side of the Veil to ease their hurt and bring joy to their memories of their loves. Bright Lady of Heaven, gather them to your bosom and help them remember and heal.
Merry meet, merry part, merry meet again.
Blessed be.

Conduct on FA
Posted 13 years agoI'm rather distressed by the conduct of a user here on FA. I won't mention names; suffice it to say a user here saw fit to post shouts to my account about another user here, making allegations about them. I screen-capped the posts to go in a trouble ticket, then deleted the shouts and blocked the offender.
What on earth possesses people to do something like that? I really can NOT wrap my head around that kind of mental process, if it can be dignified by such a name.
ETA - As I said in a comment reply below, the offender's account is no more than a day or two old, so I believe it was created either for ban evasion or trolling. Or both.

Posted 13 years agoDear ******
In case you weren't aware of it, when a favourite is removed, the message is something along the lines of "favourite or the submission it was on removed".
I'm reasonably certain you know this, though, since your note to me explained that you were letting me know "just in case you wanted to know who unfaved".
No, I really didn't want to know. Let me hasten to clarify, in case you didn't know - I don't mean that in the sense of "Gosh, I wish you hadn't told me because now I must leap in front of a bus in my shame and misery", I mean it in the sense of "I really don't care that you unfaved a piece in my gallery." I will lose no sleep over it, I assure you. In fact, if you'd care to unwatch me entirely, by all means feel free to do so, and please don't worry that my feelings will be dented; they won't be.
I really don't understand people some days...

tanyafoxy asked people to ask her questions in a journal recently and after being silly, I posed her a somewhat more serious one. Now, having thought about it even more, I'm moved to ask my watchers generally, and if you feel like answering, that would be lovely, too It is the future; you have in your hand a coupon for the Anthro Transformation House, good for one transformation of your choice. While you are transformed, you will retain your human intelligence, awareness and memory, and will be able to communicate with others. At the end of a week you will automatically return to your old form.
Do you want to use the coupon?
If so, what anthro do you want to transform into?
There is an option on the coupon; at no extra cost to you, simply by checking a box on it, you can choose to make the transformation permanent.
Do you check the box?
Does that option make a difference for your choice of anthro form?
In the interests of fairness, I'll give my answer. Feel free to answer in as much or as little detail as you choose.
Yes, I do want to use the coupon. As for form, (and this should come as no surprise), I would choose to be an Appaloosa umamusume. I'm not sure I'd check the box for making it permanent, but if I did, it would be to be an Appaloosa forever.
