OUR FAMILY DOG IN URGENT NEED! DONATIONS NEEDED!
Posted 13 years agoEarly this morning, our family dog, Toby, was having problems standing up and moving. It eventually got bad to the point where he couldn’t walk or stand up on his hind legs. Once my mom managed to get him to a vet around 7:30 AM, and he was diagnosed with a collapsed disc in his back. The vet said surgery is the best option and it would need to be done within 48 hours.
My mom is a disabled firefighter and paramedic, who can’t work anymore, and my younger sister has a health condition which constantly lands her in the hospital and has caused my mom to amass large debt. I barely make any money as it is, myself.
My mom has asked me to post a link to the donation drive for Toby’s surgery, and I was more than willing to do just that.
I have never asked for any money or aide, but Toby has been in our family for the past years, ever since we adopted him. Which is I am posting this and hoping to spread the word for and get help for him.
http://debbiemesser.chipin.com/mypa.....b8f4f589888a7c
Even a one dollar donation towards Toby is very appreciated! Even just posting the link in your own journal entry, Facebook page, Twitter, Tumblr blog, any kind of personal blog, social network site, is enough for us, as it will help spread the word out for Toby and his situation! I am asking this to every person on FA that see's this! Any help you guys can offer is appreciated! My mom just wants to save his life, and get his back legs working to the point were he can function properly enough to where he won’t suffer and have to be put to sleep!
For anybody here who has a Tumblr account, here is the post I made for you guys to reblog! http://gitzyrulz.tumblr.com/post/34.....log-and-spread

Thinking of offering for a certain type of art commission
Posted 13 years agoOkay. So I'm low on money and need to make some extra on the side. Like everybody else, I'm thinking of possibility turning to doing some art commissions. But, I'm considering in doing one type of commission right now, though.
Pretty much I'm thinking of doing commissions by drawing people's characters in a very simple cute style like in this picture. http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/ukno.....5/original.png As you can see, it can easily apply to other styles aside from the Sonic and anthro style. I'll draw My Little Pony ponies in it, too, once I make up a sample for it.
Basically I'd like to open up slots for people to reserve, and when I'm done with all of the customer's characters in the slot, I will post them all together in a compilation picture like the one shown above. You'll have to have pay in order to secure a slot, and I'll only receive payment through Paypal, but I promise I'll get it done in a timely fashion, and let everybody know if something goes wrong that would cause a delay as soon as possible. (They're simple to draw, ink, and color, after all.)
I was thinking of charging somewhere around $3-5 for each. I'm not sure which exact price to pick yet, though. But, does that price range sound reasonable? Most importantly, though, is anybody interested? I've never done any art commissions, so I'd like to test out the waters by doing something more simple to start out.

Possibly selling Pinkie
Posted 14 years agoI'm thinking of putting my Pinkie Pie 3/4 suit up for sale very soon. (I plan on making a newer version in the future.)
I won't be putting it up for sale on Ebay, though. I always end up spending more money than I earn because of all the fees you have to go through when using Ebay. So I was thinking, if there is enough interest, that I'll open a drawing for who gets to buy it from me. All people will need to do to do to enter the drawing is to comment in a journal entry for it and say they want in. (or for anybody who doesn't have a FA or DA account, I'll also hold a sign up on LiveJournal, and the person can post anonymously with their contact info, and it must an e-mail address.) After the deadline for signing up has ended, I will draw a person who signed up and announce it, or just contact them. Not sure how I'll draw the names. I think there might be some type of number randomizer out there.
I'm not putting the costume up for sale, yet, though. This journal is just to see if there's any people who are interested and are serious about wanting to buy it. (So please no comments saying that you would buy it if but then say how have no money to do so.) I haven't figured out an exact price for it, yet. But it will be below a thousand dollars, but you'll have to pay for shipping.
Of course, if you really, really want to buy it, then it won't hurt at all to send me a PM about it and see if we can work something out.
Edit- I aim at selling her around $300-$400.

Death in the family
Posted 14 years agoSince last year my grandmother was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. She had a tumor that was starting to block off her the way to colon (something like that). So she got surgery to get a colostomy bag, in order for her waste to not be backed up and she wouldn't starve to death. Everything was going good for her until she fell and broke her arm back in October. We eventually got her back home. Everybody in the house tried their best to take care of her but it eventually just too much for us to handle. So we had to put her in a nursing home, as much as my mom promised she never would do that to grandma, but we really had no choice.
Everything was going fine for her until last weekend, when she had to brought into the hospital because she got sick and started to throw up. We found out that the tumor she had has grown so much that it was now fully blocking off her bowels and fluids were beginning to back up in her body and into her lungs. There really was nothing anybody could do, after mom tried to find every possible way that didn't involve her suffering from it. Sunday or Monday, we were told that she was expected to have less than a week to live. My mom decided to have grandma discharged from the nursing and bring her home. Mom figured that if she was going to die it would at least be at home and with her family. So was brought on Tuesday, my birthday, and me and the rest of the family spent the rest of the days spending all of the time she had left. Even holding off on celebrating me and my mom's birthdays (our birthdays are a day apart) that was earlier this week, in order to do so.
Grandma finally passed away this morning. I figured she wasn't going to make it past this weekend. I'm still doing fine, despite the reality that I'm never going to see her again, and I feel sad whenever I think about it since I've known her all my life. I was expecting it to happen sooner or later. But it's relieving to know that she at least died at home with all of her family and not alone in a nursing home, everybody getting to talk and spend time with her before she passed on, and the fact that she didn't suffer or was in any pain thanks to the pain killers Hospice gave us for her. She was even still coherent and aware of her surroundings last night, before she died. We're planning on holding a memorial for her later this month.
It's just been a very long week for me altogether.

Something I'm thinking of possibly doing...
Posted 14 years agoI've been thinking, after telling this to
stop-n-swop-user on AIM. I'm now interested in possibly making Banjo-Kazooie, Project Dream, and possibly Earthbound/Mother related shorts in the future. Animated shorts in the "construction paper" stop-motion type, like that of Captain Pugwash, and the first two South Park pilot shorts and the pilot episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZa4p2qnApE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnipHUBRMfU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcKJ.....eature=related But on my free time, though.
I figured if I was ever going to give a shot at animating, it would at least be the construction paper type. Because at least with stop motion animation in general, you can go and reuse parts and sets, and not have to go and make all kinds of different cells that would pile up on you. D: Well, at least with paper animation, that is. I know for a fact that typical clay and armature puppets go and quickly start to suffer from wear and tear after using them so many times. Do to the stress of how many times they have to be used and posed. In front of hot stage lights, at that.
I just lack the proper lighting equipment, and a tripod to keep my camera still and in place. Depending if I'm able to get the right settings, I could possibly use the camera I already have. Seeing how it's a Canon. From what I've heard of, Canon cameras are one the best types to use for stop motion animating purposes. Or I could possibly use this super high quality camera that my older sister recently sold to my mom.
And I already know what to do in order to keep parts of the set and characters from blowing out of place or away. Double sided tape. Such wonderful stuff. You can even easily peel it off paper and not have it tear a layer or piece off. I love that stuff. C:
And to save myself the trouble of voice acting and synchronizing the lips of the characters, I'll just go and have the characters talk in the usual Banjo-Kazooie styled mumbling sounds, and digitally add subtitles in afterwords. Though I'll have to go and record mumbling voices myself for characters who don't have any, yet, or can't obtain, like Edison, Trophy Thomas, etc. And if I want to change something in the dialog, I won't have to go and re-record any lines or dialog. Just go in and edit the subtitles. The closest thing to spoken dialog that would be in my shorts would most likely be from some random narrator. If I decide to add that in, that is. As for the Earthbound/Mother related shorts. Like the first too, I'll probably just add in subtitles after filming, and leave out full spoken dialog.
And all of the animation in the shorts will be traditional, too. The only thing that would be digital are the subtitles, and that's it. :B
But I'm gonna take
ameart's advice and do some experimenting first, before I do any full out stories.
I don't know, yet, though. To be honest, I mostly wanted an excuse to post a new journal up here. So I'm posting this rambling and talking-to-myself stuff.

My feelings about hate art and fics...
Posted 14 years agohttp://community.livejournal.com/ha.....er/424249.html http://community.livejournal.com/ha.....er/424500.html
These. Just these.
These things are why I cannot stand hate art and fics, or whenever somebody writes a fic in a certain fandom and goes and makes 'said character completely out of character, or 'said characters friends and family magically turn into huge dicks and suddenly hate 'said character for no reason! Especially when it leaks into non-hate, non-bashing fics! Yes, I understand if you hate a certain character and I'm not going to bite your head off for it. But please for the love of God, would it seriously kill you to actually write 'said character in-character and not go and change shit about them or other characters, in order for them to reflect your opinions and beliefs? (I'm looking at you Sonic fandom, Kingdom Hearts fandom, etc!) Not everybody and everything works around your beliefs and opinions!
I don't care if you hate characters like Amy Rose, Sally Acorn, Big the Cat, Chris Thorndyke, Princess Elise, Mina Mongoose, Cream the Rabit, Cosmo, Kairi, Ansem the Wise, Anzu, Sakura, Chibiusa, and any other character, but fuck! I'm so God damn sick of reading fics and seeing art where Sonic is a colossal, and heartless asshole towards somebody who was canonically his friend, or somebody he cares about, and kills them for no damn reason, or for a really stupid reason! Despite the fact that Sonic is almost always a laid back, pretty understanding guy, who never really seems to hold any grudges against others. I'm sick of seeing fan fics and fan art where Tails' character is reduced to that of a whiny little teenage girl, thinking that anybody who dares befriends Sonic, and maybe even become his best friend, is out to "steal" Sonic away from him! (To be honest: I think anybody who feels that way so easily about a friend of theirs making friends with others, have a low self esteem and should grow the fuck up!) Because to these people, having more than one best friend is somehow the equivalent to cheating on your partner or spouse! Oh, and we can't forget all of the yaoi fics in the Kingdom Hearts fandom, where Kairi, or any other female character, is brutally killed in order for the author or artist's OTP to flourish! Because those characters were somehow a threat to them!
And then there's the whole "never living it down" thing and what I think about, that was already said and explained in the link above.
I guess what I'm trying to say is is that whenever I want to go and look at fan art or read a fic, I want something with a good story or concept (Yes! The same goes for slash fics and art!), not for the artist or author to go and shove their damn opinions down my throat at every damn turn, or try to beat it into my head at every minute, with absolutely no thought or time put into them! Especially very biased, one-sided opinions! That kind of crap is what is starting to turn me off from the newer Family Guy episodes! That, and it comes off as lazy writing, to me.

Sandra Lee...
Posted 15 years ago... just Sandra Lee.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJIs.....eature=related I feel very tempted to make this... But in a more well executed and a lot less disgusting way! Just to one up Sandra Lee. Like using chocolate ice-cream to make the potato ice-cream base, instead of taking vanilla ice-cream and covering it in cocoa powder. Using banana pieces cut into squares as the slices of butter, instead of using lemon flavored icing. Not sure what to make the chives out of, yet. Maybe I'll go and try to find some kind of candy that might resemble bacon bits instead.
And don't even get me started on that "Kwanzaa Cake" of hers! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrQbWeNQpiA
You know what. I just feel like making an entire series involving me making much better and more bearable versions of the monstrosities that Sandra Lee has brought onto the world! Who's with me?

I'm going to make lots of monies111
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm like going to totally take a Mad Libs booklet and choose a currently popular movie or genre, and then throw in current pop culture references that nobody will get a couple of years later, and right them down in the booklet's phrasal template word games. Then I'm going to totally sell my "scripts" and have them made into the best comedy movies eveeeeer! And then I'm going to take the money I make off of them by filling a plastic pool with dollar bills and then swim in it!
I shouldn't have to tell you who the two certain directors are, who just released yet another vague genre movie, that I am bashing.
Also- Rare Kink Meme, ahoy! http://littledekuscrub.livejournal.com/1020.html
