second life
Posted 7 years agogot a new graphics card for Xmas.. and while there are still a few settings issues to iron out, i can now actually do Second life without it crashing my comp again. spent a few hours last night wandering around, mostly checking which of the placed i'd bookmarked years ago were still around.
on the downside, i misread a tip box interface and accidentally transferred 10K+ linden (used the wrong "custom donation" box and instead of 50 linden, sent $50 worth of linden.. ouch) so now i'm broke on there, with only a few thousand linden left.
sigh.

toradoshiGateway to the Megaverse: chrome takes on an Anthro tome..
Posted 13 years agorecently on youtube i have begun posting webcasts of 'Gateway to the Megaverse: chrome", a review show centered around the games of palladium books. my intent is to post a few episodes every other week, looking at various palladium products each time.
this week and for the next few months i plan to be covering After the Bomb, one of the few Anthro oriented roleplaying games.
Part 1 and Part 2 are up now, and upcoming episodes will cover the supplimental material found in the Rifter (Palladium's annual magazine/sourcebook publication) which provides additional animals and setting material, as well as the 1st edition setting books, which while a bit out of date in terms of rule mechanics provide lots of setting info and are easily updated to 2nd edition use. (especially since the fans have taken it apon themselves to post updates on the company's forums)
As an Anthro oriented game, this product has some good aspects for the furry community. first is the customizability of the character creation system. you can make a wide variety of animals (over 100 different types in the main book along, and two or three times that with the expansion materials included), as well as the wide range of options available. and the system is easy to add new material too, if you want to create your own species for the game or add features not found normally. in fact, this game has a number of species not found in nature (like spider goats and other engineered creatures), so if you want to play a hybrid species or something wholly original, you can easily fit it in.
the second advantage is the compatability with the other palladium game lines. with just a bit of house ruling to change the character class selections, you can use the After the Bomb mutant animals into just about any other palladium games, in addition to or instead of humans and/or various aliens. so if you don't want a post apocalyptic setting, you can instead play Fantasy (palladium fantasy RPG), Space opera (Phase World), super-hero (heroes unlimited) or even spy.martial arts movie (Ninjas&superspies) genra's... or even mix multiple together using parts from each of the games. few other Anthro roleplaying game systems give you that much freedom.
