Thanksgiving '20
Posted 5 years agoHello! Yes, I'm still alive. It's been a little over 2 years since I last posted stuff here. Sorry about that, lol. I'll try to post stuff here more often (I can assure you that my art style has improved since 2 years ago). Lots of ideas have been circulating my mind, and there's only so much time I have to get them out there, but I'll still try!
Hope y'all's Thanksgiving was well. I know mine was! Look forward to more art from yours truly in the near future!

My Thoughts on the 2016 Election
Posted 9 years agoSo the election happened last night. The people voted, the votes were counted, and even though Clinton got the popular vote compared to Trump (59,680,035 votes to 59,479,278 votes), Trump received 306 electoral votes, while Clinton received 232.
This isn't the first time this has happened (it happened in 2000 with Bush and Gore), but I know it's come as a shock to many people. I know many people out there are afraid of what Trump will do in office, now that he's the new president-elect, and I can understand why; several media outlets have not been kind to him, and I'm well aware that he's said things that I don't agree with. In fact, personally, I would've preferred Sanders to be our next president instead of Trump.
Here's the thing, though; no matter who would've been elected, they still would've just been a president. We have such things as checks and balances to ensure no one in the government has all the power. There's not going to be a day when all that will suddenly go away just because one person was elected president. They will simply come into office, do what they can, and then another election will roll on by. Besides, no candidate in any election is going to be what's best for everyone in the country. There's no such thing as a perfect politician; there's only people, and people are not infallible.
I'm not saying I'm happy with the results of this election, but I'm not upset by them either. All I'm saying is that, even though we don't know what the future holds until we get there, the last thing we should do is live in fear of it. I understand where the fear resides, but I am here to say it's going to be okay; this is just another election, and this is just another president. Only time will tell where things will go from here.

Questions Probably (Not) On Your Minds
Posted 11 years agoQ: How come it takes you so long to post a drawing to your page?
A: While it usually never takes very long for me to draw something (it never gets to more than one hour for my more basic drawings), I don't post them until I get them digitally coloured on MS Paint. The only way I can do that is if I scan it and then edit it in MS Paint. However, my folks usually are around whenever I want to do such things. I'm very private about my art with my folks, as well as with most other people, and so I try not to scan until no one else is around. This isn't often, though, so the time between scans can span anywhere from a week to a month. I hope you understand.
Q: Why don't you post anything about your fetish? Do you even have one?
A: Yes, I do have a fetish. I indulge in it at least once a day (gotta clean 'em pipes somehow if I don't want prostate cancer later in life). However, I feel that posting what my fetish is, let alone any artwork pertaining to my fetish, is completely irrelevant to what I want to stand for as an artist. I don't want people to see me as just another fetish artist; I want people to see me for who I am. Anyone can have a fetish, but nobody can be yourself other than you. I believe my art can stand for something huge and is a window into my own personality. If I post art pertaining to my fetish, I'd be pertaining to a niche demographic that more likely than not cares about my fetish art than myself. That doesn't gel well in my mind.
Q: How long have you been an artist?
A: As far as I'm concerned, I've been an artist since about 1998. As for specific art styles, my traditional art goes back to about 1998, my music (something I do as a hobby) goes back to about 2000, my digital art goes back to about 2001, and my literature goes back to about 2004. I'm not claiming to be professional; I'm just stating a fact.
Q: You do music? What kind of music do you make?
A: That really depends on my mood. The music I compose generally can be classified as any or all of the following:
Punk rock
Post-punk
Progressive rock
New wave
Folk rock
Rock
Classical
These are the genres I tend to listen to the most.
Q: You sure are humble. Why are you so humble?
A: As a kid, I was raised to be that way. I was taught that I wasn't any cooler than anyone just because I have a certain taste in music or whatever, and neither is anyone cooler than me for the same reason. I don't think of myself as anything really special or the big man on campus; I'm just another artist expressing myself the best ways I know how. Sure, my style is more or less different than most others' styles, but that's the only extent of my differences. I'm the exact same way about everything else I like, do, and believe. My humility comes from an intrinsic stance of logic and reason, which was planted in my mind as a child. In most, if not all, of the times I post my art, I always feel like whatever I'm posting isn't really good. I always feel as though the stuff I post is crap or something that people will find ridiculous and/or stupid. That wasn't planted in my mind by my parents, but rather by students at my various schools that belittled and bullied me for expressing myself in my own unique ways. Sure, I'm embarrassed by some of the things I've done and said even a few weeks ago, but it's no excuse to flat-out castigate and belittle a person for who they are. This is why I feel very happy and touched whenever someone even takes the time to favorite my art. It's like a digital hug. That's just me, though. Considering my background, I can hardly blame myself for feeling that way.
These are a small sample of questions you may or may not have about myself. If you have any questions about me that weren't addressed here, feel free to leave them as comments or notes.
Thanks for everything. :)

My Life to Come?
Posted 11 years agoSo, school starts for me next Wednesday. Truth be told, I'm actually kind of ecstatic about it. I'll be able to spend another school year with my friends that I've made at my high school.
There's something a bit different about this year, though, that dampens that ecstasy.
I'm a senior this year. This will be the very last year of my life that I attend any public school as a student. I've been a student since 2002. I moved to Germany on October 23, 2004, and finished my 2nd Grade term in Germany. I then moved to Western Washington (the rainy side) on August 1, 2007, and have attended schools in my current city since I was in my 5th Grade term.
I will officially graduate high school on June 4, 2015, and community college the day after. I'm hoping that I will graduate with my diploma and my AA.
Some time after I graduate, I will move back to my childhood home in Pasadena, Texas. By this time next year, I will be attending Rice University in Houston. After I finish up at Rice (either in 2017 or 2019) and earn my BA or MA, I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I plan on getting degrees in mathematics and engineering, but I'm not sure what I'll do with those. I might become a teacher, but even that's uncertain.
Things that might happen after I graduate from Rice in 2017/2019:
1. I'll move back to my current city and live with DFGHulk and Cooper in one house.
2. I'll stay in Pasadena, Texas.
I've lived in my current city as long as I've lived in Pasadena, Texas. That's 7 years each. I feel like both cities are my home. It's really tough deciding which one I'll stay in after I finish up my education. I guess I'll make my decision soon.
I know I won't really have to worry about it for the next 3 to 5 years, but those years are coming here faster than a speeding bullet, and I know I won't be able to dodge it.
Until then, here's hoping everything will turn out just fine for me as I become an adult.
Take care, everybody. I love you.

There's Something Wrong With Modern Society
Posted 12 years agoantisocial [ANN-tee-So-shul or ANN-tie-So-shul] n. wanting no involvement or association with society and/or other people for the sake and/or reason of detesting it and/or them.
That may not be completely accurate, but, if you define antisocial as that, then I fit that definition almost exactly.
Yep, I hate modern society, partly because my mind was generated in the mid-1970s, where people weren't such complete morons.
Now, yes, I know the 1970s weren't exactly the greatest years of the 20th Century (ask me about Kent State, Vietnam, stagflation, the Watergate scandal, and all the oil embargoes and stock market crashes if you want to know more), and I'm not going to pretend that they are. If I'm really honest, no decade is without flaws, and anyone who denies that should probably see a proctologist.
That's not the point, though. The point is that the society of 40 years ago was clearly not as stupid as the society of today. Rather than make a long, boring essay about everything specifically wrong with today's society, I'm just going to touch on a few points that make today's society a total joke in the form of subheadings.
1. Racist Idiocy
Undoubtedly, racism has been a tremendous issue for a very long time. Probably the most notable of these times was when Martin Luther King spoke out against racism in 1963. However, the topic of racism still is persistent in today's society. Why do I say this? Well, allow me to provide a little anecdote.
I currently attend high school. I get to school every morning by taking a school bus, since my house is about 2 miles away from my school. I'm not afraid to tell you that I pretty much live in a ghetto. Most of the kids that ride my bus and live in my area are African Americans. They're not the nice ones that are polite and don't like their stereotype; they're all the stereotypical black kids who like to blast shitty rap, hip-hop, and R&B music from their iPods, sag their pants like they don't know how to dress themselves, and call each other and other people "niggers," even if the people they refer to aren't dark skinned. However, if any other race calls them "niggers," especially if a white person says it to them, then they get all up in arms and call them racists.
What makes this so ironic is that these kids themselves are completely racist. Their belief is that if a black person calls another black person "nigger," then that's fine, but if anyone else does the same, then they're automatically racist. I.e., it's only racist if a non-black person calls a black person "nigger." What kind of racist logic is this?
As if that wasn't bad enough, they also make a huge deal over how you say "nigger." If you say it like "nigga," then that's okay, but if you say it like "nigger," that's not okay. Why should it matter? They're both the same word, so, either way, you're still making the same pejorative insult to everyone else if you use either pronunciation.
It seems like these people don't even know what that word means. For those who don't know, here's the definition:
nigger [NIG-ur or NIG-uh] n. a pejorative term for a person with dark skin. <from Spanish negro "black">
I.e., if you call someone a nigger, you're insulting them for the color of their own skin. Every time you say this word and intend to use it, Martin Luther King does a trapeze act in his grave.
I don't want to hear comments like, "Wow, GMart5, you're such a racist." I myself am against racism, and I only intend to use the term for the purpose of shaming people who actively use it. I have never called anyone a nigger in my life because I feel it is one of the ugliest words you can ever say, and so I believe that anyone who uses it intentionally is a racist.
While I'm on the subject, what's with this idea that all white people should be shamed for being white? Sure, there are still some racist white people on this planet, like how there are racists in every race, but this isn't the 1950s; racist white people seem to be a minority now that we're starting to look down on this type of behavior. Leave the white people alone. Sure, they've done bad things to people in the past, but the same is true for every other race out there. Just keep that in mind.
I would talk about BET, but I think I've rambled on about racism enough. If you want my thoughts on BET, I feel it's one of the most racist things on television that is marketed towards black people, since it basically implies that all black people listen to rap, hip-hop, and R&B, thus perpetuating a needless stereotype. If that can stay on air for 33 years and counting, they would probably be able to get away with making WET (White Entertainment Television), where its programming features nothing but things related to hipsters.
I'll end this topic with this: You know things are bad when it's seen as not racist when a black person dresses in whiteface and mocks white culture.
2. Everyone Wants to Be a Gangster
This trend seems to be a huge thing with teenagers these days. We're currently in a generation where everyone thinks they can make it as a gangster. This seems to be evident when people brag about why it's cool to sag pants, why it's fun to shoot things, and why whatever minor crime they commit makes them a gangster.
I hate to burst your bubble (well, not really; I actually have been wanting to since this trend started), but if you told a real gangster that you're a gangster because you sag your pants, know how to shoot things, and brag about how you jaywalked and stole a candy bar, the real gangster would laugh in your face before shooting it.
Being a gangster is a lot more than just whatever you hear in any mainstream rap or hip-hop song. In fact, it's a lot riskier than that. Ever seen The Godfather? How about A Clockwork Orange? Those movies are perfect examples of how real gangsters operate and do their business. If you decide that you want to be a gangster, you take the following risks, among others:
1. You could any day be killed by rival gangsters.
2. You could spend the rest of your life rotting behind bars for being a gangster.
3. You could any day learn that your whole family has been killed by gangsters.
4. You could any day lose everything that you have.
5. You can never leave the gang unless you die.
Still want to be a gangster? If so, then what are you still doing in school or at work? If you're a gangster, your whole life is devoted to your fellow gangsters. Your family, friends, and past life don't mean anything when you're a gangster.
Still want to be a gangster? Fine. Whatever. Go ahead and be one. Just don't be surprised if you end up with a bullet in your back someday and you end up being maggot food.
There are more problems with society that need to be addressed, but I think these two are enough. These problems are the ones I run into constantly, online and offline. If you disagree with me or have other things to say to me, I can't stop you. Likewise, you can't stop me from telling you why I detest modern society. Thanks for reading this vicious tirade, and have a good day.

A Songwriter Is Me
Posted 12 years agoFor the past couple of months, I've written and arranged 8 songs by myself. That's right. You can expect me to become some indie musician in the future.
For now, though, I'm stuck listening to my works via a 1999 music game for the PS1.
Maybe I'll post a recording of a song...maybe...

Why I've Been So Inactive
Posted 12 years agoI know, I'm a total jerk for not submitting stuff lately. If you have any complaints about that, I have no problem. However, I have a perfectly valid reason why.
For the past month, the laptop I use to make my drawings has had a dead battery, so I have to use my iPod to do anything here.
Keep in mind the laptop I use is from around 2005.
And I'm almost 16.
I'm working on getting it fixed as soon as I can. Just sit tight for now, and I'll be getting back into the groove soon.

Vietato: The Final Draft

A New Play: Vietato
Posted 12 years agoI finished writing a play today that I had started 6 days ago. Since DeviantART was being anal, and I didn't feel like converting the play into anything other than a .wps file, I decided to put it on my sta.sh profile. You can check it out right here and let me know your thoughts: http://sta.sh/0105k5q4pxvq

My First Moments In Germany
Posted 14 years agoAfter a long flight from Houston, TX, to Frankfurt, Germany, we finally arrived at the airport. My new home, Wiesbaden (VEEZ-bah-den), was only a short drive away, but we first had to traverse through the airport. The first thing that got us confused were the signs around the entire place; they were all in German (keep in mind that we didn't study any German in advance), but eventually, we found our way outside. We waited for my dad (he was already in Germany for a year), when my mom realized we were waiting in the taxi zone (dad was gonna pick us up in his car). We moved to a different spot that was away from the taxi zone, but mom realized she forgot her purse behind. When she went back to get it, the German Police (Polizei in German, pronounced pul-IHT-sai) had surrounded it. That is because, in Germany, it is believed that any handbag that is left behind by anyone contains terrorist objects. She got to the police, confused, and one yelled at her in German, his gun pointed straight at her. Basically, he said, "Tell us the contents of your bag! (which would probably have been like "Erzählen Sie uns den Inhalt Ihrer Tasche!")" Another translated his words for her, and she told them the contents of her purse. The translating policeman then told her to show said contents. After that whole ordeal, all of the policemen relaxed, smiled, and said,"Okay. Have a nice day." Moments later, dad drove up happy and smiling, unaware of the previous happenings, and that was the first half-hour we spent in Germany! Pretty crazy stuff, huh?
