life update:
just a few more weeks before I start school again! I finally got into my intro to illustration class, so I'm super stoked about that, I got into color and design 2, and I'm planning on getting into book arts, and I also have a science foundation, a religion class, and a dance class, so I'm actually REALLY excited for this next semester, and I really want to improve and grow. This semester will probably be super busy though, but chances are you will see more art after school starts then you do now XD

Other news:
pen pressure thing stopped working again, so I'm using MS One note to make my sketches/linearts again (ಥ__ಥ) *le sigh*

I've been playing Crystal Caves again >:D I downloaded this program called DOSbox that lets me play those fun oldies, like keen and whatnot so that also...is another reason why I havn't been doing as much art as I should be doing. BUT by the end of the month I fully plan on having both my WIP projects finished and uploaded (though it may just end up being one, we'll see). I have done a lot of clothes resizing/altering and stuff like that, which while not art, is difficult and a craft like thing I've had on my to-do list for over a year so go me.

Sorry I haven't't been on guys, my internet reset, all saved information and cached things were obliterated, and for some reason, Furaffinity was the only one of my websites that freaked out because of that. For the past while I haven't been able to get on, even though I reset my password a few times. I don't know what made this try any different, but I was finally able to get on! So expect a a lot of art updates (mostly in scraps) for the next bit.

The major big realistic work I've been doing digitally also got corrupted, so it will be longer to finish that. thankfully PART of it was saved, but I have random blotches of neon colors messing it up *le sigh* on the upside, I found a plugin to make the pen pressure work again, on the downside, it makes everything slower and more jerky.

I turned 21 last wednesday! but since I don't drink, it really didn't change my life at all XD hahaha. Now I can feel a little more immature since I am *completely* and *officially* and adult (and don't act like it).

ALSO I found these UBER CUTE PERF BOOTS that I need to have on my body. they are sturdy, and a girl could stomp all over the world on them, and exactly what I have been looking for (but I am a total cheap-o and can't justify spending $35 on footwear that I don't *need* need. so. commissions will be my funding! ....well, hopefully anyway.)

I probably don't get many commissions because I haven't uploaded art in forever, and stuff. I just have no scanner right now, and *insert all my excuses here*

I'm thinking of doing a new commission sheet since my current one is vague and sucky
FYI I am always open for doing 'convert your character to human' type commissions, since I am better with human stuff, and I like designing clothes/outfits etc
I can also create characters if you would like that, just give me a basic Idea, gender, personality type etc to start with and I will have a party.

Also, what I think right now would be the cutest thing is to do FALL/AUTUMN themed commissions- like snuggly sweater pictures, full of hot chocolate, crunchy leaves, pumpkin, maybe ghosts or halloweeny stuff, you name it. I guess I can do some examples *I need to stop watching shows and writing for my own pleasure and get back into the digital art world*

What do you guys think? are these things you would be interested in? do you think my prices are too high? too low? *backflips off table singing an Aria* let me know! farewell!

so I've been doing mural painting and getting moneys (well, I will be getting moneys for it...haven't actually gotten the moneys yet)
and all sorts of other busy stuff
because finals is coming up
on the upside I'm completely done with my watercolor class- so that's one less thing to worry about
on the other hand, I have tons of assignments due (and yes right now I'm procrastinating XD)

I have been doing lots of sketches, and I'm uploading some of them [ idk if you guys get scraps in your inbox, but if you don't, if you want to see them be sure to drop by my scraps and check them out! ](some are really old sketches btw) but I need to find a big scanner so I can show you guys my watercolor works since they are on larger paper, so not a while lot of finished art to be seen right now, sorry.

and also I attended a play recently (she stoops to conquer) which was fun :>

GUYS I GOT MYSELF A CELLO. I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

So I've wanted to learn the Cello for a while, a desire that has been turned to BURNING NEED after discovering the Piano guys, and even more after seeing them live (Steve sharp nelson....my fav ever). Anyway, so I was talking with my mom about how I REALLY wanted to learn, but cello's are so expensive....
well not two days later, one of my acquaintances back home posts on facebook that she is getting rid of her cello! She only played it a couple times (she's a violinist and started to learn cello, but got pregnant, and now she is expecting another so she needs some quick cash not to mention she won't have time or money to learn cello for a long time, so long story short, she's selling it) I asked her how much she was asking for it and she said $250. THAT IS STINKING DIRT CHEAP. THAT IS A STEAL FOR A CELLO. AHHHHHHH not to mention it came with a beginning book, a soft carry case, a stand, and it's nearly brand new, and when she first got it, she had professionals replace the fret board with a legit one, and restrung with the highest quality strings. I could cry this is so perfect for me, because it's a decent cello for a beginner (I've heard painted cello's are not great for serious cellists, but by the time I get to that amount of skill, I'm hoping I can afford a really good cello)

ANYWAY I snapped that baby up asap. (well, technically my parents did for me, since I don't have a car and I couldn't get there anyway...haha it's like 7 hours away and I have school....not to mention the gas money is appalling). I transferred the money to their account and they picked it up for me- my dad sent me a picture of it and I am SO STOKED. IT'S SO PRETTY. AND LIME GREEN. AND MY SISTER JUST GOT A PURPLE VIOLIN. AND WE HAVE A DRUMSET THAT IS BRIGHT BLUE WITH RED CYMBALS. IF WE GET OUR ACT TOGETHER WE CAN BE A BAND CALLED SPECTRUM OVERLOAD.

So a month from now you will probably get another fangirling journal about it- and probably some complaints about sore fingers as well XD

Life update:
I went on a trip to Jackson Hole WY and that was SUPER fun. (and free- since it was for my watercolor class and the school sponsored it) My classmates are so great- we had a lot of fun. We got to go to the national wildlife museum (which I'm sure everyone here would have really enjoyed- there were beautiful paintings and sculptures of animals- I even saw an original Rembrandt sculpture)
We visited a few different galleries, which was also great. Later we went to the most photographed barn in the world, having a grand ol' time. We took a jumping picture of a group of us- our teacher actually was the one that jumped the highest! hahaha, he's super fun.

After that, on friday, I finally got my haircut! It's super cute and awesome, and I can spike it up if I want >:)
Then there was a stake activity, involving free tacos, so I went to that with my roomates, and TURNS OUT THERE WAS THIS WICKED DANCE AFTERWARDS. (and on a day where I actually decided to dress up and look awesome! hahahahaha yesssss) a LEGIT one, with an AWESOME Dj who knew what he was doing. The songs were all super dancey, no lame songs, and just so much fun. I eventually moved up a tier to a grassy area (this was in the amphitheater) and started dancing- a group of people came up and joined me a little while later- made me feel special >:) my roomates were like 'dude, you started a trend!' heh. I felt special.

Saturday I got to babysit my adorable nephew and niece, getting snuggles. Basically this last week just ROCKED.

oh! and today I discovered that my soft metallic crayons work AWESOMELY as eyeshadow XD

My roomate got them for me last semester and my nephew mostly has been using them (since they are soft, they are really good for younger kids) and I was looking at them today and I was like, they are the same consistancy as my thick gold eyeliner I use as eyeshadow (normal eyeshadow makes my eyes really itchy- I always regret wearing it) and it worked so fabulously. I might start wearing 'makeup' more often now that it's easy XD (and cheap..I got a pack of 6 for like, $3 which is dirt cheap in makeup speech)

So yeah, things are really going my way lately. Life is good!
BUT THE CELLO AYAYA I AM SO HAPPY

So I'll try to post things more often, whether it's journals or art or whatever, haha

I got to to go to a FREE DINNER, followed by a few awesome live performances, and then a legit dance (okay, well, sortof legit) for the first time in ages....it's been at least a year or two (I am cry!) so that was super fun- I'm definitely planning on hosting one sometime (I have speakers, there are plenty of buildings here with old empty classrooms that are never used.... I don't know why this never occurred to me before)

In the meantime, I've been doing homework, working on my current commission, and doing more homework!
I've done a lot of traditional sketches, but haven't scanned them in....so expect near the end of my semester (July ish) to see a lot of art updates- I think I can harness the sporri big scanners then. idk, we'll see. I'll keep questing, haha.

first on my 'when I have time' list is GETTING A HAIRCUT though. because it's getting too long and when it's super warm like it's been, having hair that is long enough to touch my neck is unbearable. I need my short layered-to-let-the-wind-cool-off-my-head pixie cut back. ;A; (all my roomates have hair that is super long, past their shoulders glossy straight brown perfection and they laugh at me because I say mine is 'too long' and it doesn't even reach my shoulders....heh. but at this awkward length it likes to curl funny :P)

I just want it to be summer summer (as in, I don't have any homework and I get to do what I want I.E. catch up on all my projects and art and stuff) but that won't be for another month D: The weather here is just perfect for going out and doing fun summer things but classes and homework kindof get in the way. Hey guys- This last week has been crazy busy for me- my niece was born on Wednesday morning, and my parents are in town to help while my sister recovers and gets back on her feet- so I've been spending a lot of time with family :)
Also, coming up to midterm, so school is dishing out it's fair share of homework (thank goodness it was a 3 day weekend!)

Commissions:
I have one currently, and I just need to finish coloring it- It took longer than I would have like to (I hate making people wait!) but it should definitely be done by the weekend.

If anyone else wants to commission, Chibi's in nutella/by a huge thing of nutella is currently $5. proceeds go towards buying me more of that tasty stuff (or other groceries if tragedy strikes and I run out of food XD) The chibi's get done a lot faster than any other commission, generally, so if you want something done fast and cute, that's the one to go for.

so you know how my laptop internet died and had to use my sisters crappy old laptop for internet?

yes. that laptop. so for a few weeks I didn't have any internet connection (besides when I could borrow my roomates laptops for a stolen minute or two- bless their hearts, they are really great roomates...one saturday I got all my online math homework done- an entire weeks worth of crap. I sat on the couch from 9:30 int he morning till 4:30 doing nothing but maths. on pee breaks and a brief lunch of bread and juice. seriously)

Anyway, my sister got married and my family came up for a couple of days, and my DAD is just so awesome he brought me up a laptop that (and I quote) "I just built this thing for you last night, so it doesn't have much on it, but it can connect otothe internet" BLESS YOU DAD. YOU ROCK.

So I finally have internet without having to mooch of someone else.....which is GREAT!
it is also very BAD because I have tumblr as a distraction again (but I'll be honest, I procrastinated just as much before, I swear, I read AT LEAST 15 books in that 2 week break of no-internet-except-for-homework

anyway, I've basically been sleep deprived since a week or two ago, and It seems that the amount of things I need to do keep piling up...I'm seriously considering skipping my class tomorrow so I can write up my test help sheet and whatnot, but we'll see I guess.... UGH
3 more weeks.
If I can just hang in there for 3 more weeks....I'm so tired.

I have a huge to-do list and I need to get it done already! *headdesk*
and I lost my camera :\
but hey! things are actually pretty good, just CRAZY BUSY. and since I love my roomates so much we destract each other and so I'm not getting hw done nearly as much either, It's true when they say you can have 2 out of the three, sleep, your social life, and good grades.I'm trying and basically drowning in all 3. So I have tons of classwork art (mostly heads and figures) to upload, but I have no idea when I will have the time. eventually I'll update...and be able to do personal art....eventually...

AGH so my laptop decided to magically just not connect to the internet. I can access the network, and when I'm on campus, it even states that I'm connected to the internet, with 4-5 bars of connectivity but yet when I open firefox or chrome it will not load any pages, and says it has a DSL error or can't connect to the internet. MADDENING!
I wish I could figure out a way to fix it- and I have yet to bring it to the computer help desk at the school- but it's really inconvenient because I have an online math class and a couple other classes that require online submission stuff. (not to mention I've been without DA,FA, and tumblr! oh the humanity!)

Luckily, my sister lives here too and has an old laptop that has internet, but doesn't have much else (no microsoft word, no nothing....the only reason why they kept it is because it has zoo tycoon installed on it XD) So I'm juggling between two laptops- one with all the programs I need for my various classes, one that connects to the internet and can download my homework/upload my homework once finished XD It's really inconvenient....but my least favorite thing about the situation is that the old laptop of my sisters makes a really annoying scratchy noise sometimes when I'm listening to music. Idk why- it sounds kindof like radio static though.

It's not a permanent solution, but so far I'm coping :C

ON THE UPSIDE I GOT A 99% ON MY ART HOMEWORK! *dies* I was so surprised, because all the art teachers here are very strict...I mean, when you get an A, you have to earn it. No easy A's in art. none at all. (artist owl meme has never been so true XD) SO I AM PRETTY MUCH DANCING ON CLOUDS RIGHT NOW.

:) and this semester so far is pretty good- I'm getting less sleep and more work/stress but MY ROOMATES ARE THE COOLEST PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND WE LOVE EACH OTHER AND HAVE A BLAST AND I CAN'T IMAGINE GETTING BETTER ROOMATES. seriously. I love them so much, they are so cool, and love goofing off, and have their own special brand of weirdness, so mine isn't any problem XD

we watch disney movies together, have impromptu sing-alongs, make good food, etc. Honestly, I am just so happy to have them :')

My sister is adorable and pregnant again, we found out it's going to be a little GIRL this time! they are naming her Micah, and everything is going well (and my nephew is adorable as always, he's learning lots of new words, and learning how to use his cuteness to try and make us laugh, give him things he wants, and entertain. He's a precious)

On Monday nights my school has a free yoga hour, and I decided to check it out- It was fun XD (I felt like a ninja during some parts of it! XD) and it actually helped me sleep better (for some reason I've had really restless sleeping here :C ) not to mention worked some muscles I didn't even know I HAD so there's that- hopefully it'll help wip me back into shape :D

Sorry about the lack of art updates- I'm doing a lot of work for my classes, so lots of random portraits and figure drawings. one of these days I'll upload some for you. int he meantime, I'll try and do more personal stuff for you guys.

The holidays were pretty busy, what with the entire family being together this year (my sister and her baby and husband came up as well as my oldest sister and her fiance! and of course, my other 4 siblings are still at home, so we had a lot of people crammed in one house with a lot of sugar, so it was pretty crazy and fun)
also had to pack up my room so my sister+hubby+nephew could use my room- and I had to have it all packed up for college anyway.
I was living out of suitcases and boxes for 3 weeks, which is actually really hard! since most of the boxes were taped up and closeted until departure time, anyway.
and don't even look at the terrible grammar structure of the last couple of sentences XD

But yeah, after the holidays we trooped over to the tiny town my grandparents live in, because it was my grandpa (and his twin's) 80'th birthday party. each of them had 10 kids....and both sides of the family celebrated together, so it was crazy busy and crowded. we like, tripled the town population with just my relatives!

and then from there I got to ride in the tiny area i behind the front seats of a truck cab (the truck cab was a bit extended, but it was still uber small, because all the pillows and blankets and some other crap was stuffed back there. that was an interesting 5 hours.

then I lived at my sisters house for about a week (the internet there reeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy sucks) and finally FINALLY on friday I moved into my apartment!

so far, all my roomates seem AWESOME
but this semester is going to be freakin' INSANE. I have an online math class that has a huge homework load, and two studio drawing classes that are 3 hours each (and that's not even counting the take-home homework), an art history class, a religion class, and a seminar class.

so I think this semesters gonna be a fair bit more stressful than my previous ones... so I can't really commit to being more active here, sorry guys! my roomate does have a scanner so when I have time I will probably scan in some of my sketchbook stuff for you.

well, we'll see how these next couple of weeks go- I'm hoping my brain is exaggerating the amount of time I'll have to spend on homework...OTL but who knows.

My laptop/tablet is crapping out on me.
The screen for some reason near the bottom has a bunch of discolored lines on it, and they are creeping upwards. I have no idea why it's doing that- and it changes color still, depending on the background or window or whatevs, but the horizontal 'bars' are all the same color when they do change, or gradient, so I can't distinguish icons or anything. THIS WORRIES ME.
especially since I have some online classes when school starts up again....I can't exactly afford to have my laptop crap out on me! and a new one will cost at least $1,000.... (I use a thinkpad lenovo x200, which is a laptop whose screen converts to a tablet) I DON'T WANT TO LOSE LENNY! NUUUUUU!

anyone have any idea why the screen would be doing that? *sigh*
Either way, I would appreciate if people commission me- I am definitely willing to lower prices if that is the problem- I'm going to finish the Tangible hearts comic first, but after that, anything is free game- realistic? Note me or comment here. Please include a summery of what you want. include references, be very clear about what you want. I do enjoy artistic freedom, but keep in mind I CANNOT READ YOUR MIND so I don't want to get complaints that things aren't exactly as you want them if you do not specify. If you don't specify, I will take it as a clue that I have full reign on how it is to turn out. even so, a note saying 'have a party' would be appreciated so I know I can have lots of artistic freedom with the commission. Include how much you expect this commission to be, so i can correct you if for some reason you calculated wrong or whatever may be the case. Include if you would like this to be a human representation of your sona, oc, etc OR if you would like it to be furry- anthro, cartoony, ect. Take a stroll through my scraps and gallery, to see what I have done! use this as a rough reference on how it could turn out. You will find that I don't have as much experience in drawing animals and furries, though I do my best effort.

I would like to streamline this process. the answer is: if you have adhered to the instructions here, of course you may. Hey guys! quick update on my life: I just spent a motherload of money on getting pictures and photos from this last year printed, some of which are of my nephew, to send to my grandparents who are rather out of the loop due to dial-up internet (yes, that still exists, sadly) connection and old age.  XD and other than that, I'm just drawing, working, eating, sleeping.....yeah. that's about it. :3

Yes. I randomly felt like drawing a derp owl. and then making it glow. and then making it try to fly despite it's fat fluffiness. and then lose feathers. so it sorta turned into a gif. which is now my Avatar XD

I guess I turn into a fat fluffy glowing owl around halloween.

So I'm doing a tattoo commission for a friend (which is sorta why the art has gone awol.....If I'm gonna have my art on someone's skin permanently, I wanna make sure it is awesome, and looks good ;A; )
but she wants to know how much I'm going to charge her so she can make sure she has enough in her bank account when I'm done.
Problem is, I have NO IDEA what to charge for this sort of thing. I don't want to over charge her, because she's recently married and is already going to be paying a bundle for the tattoo itself. I don't want to see myself short either, though.
what do you guys think?

I'll upload the art when I finish it. I'm currently making sure the lineart is impeccable. There will be minor color in the design, so the lineart is the main part.

Hopefully I'll have more art in the next few weeks for you guys to feast on. or nibble on. or glance at. whatever suits your fancy.

So I've been home for roughly a week now (you may have noticed the increase in art, though I have been hanging out with my people, so there is not as much as I though there would be XD)

Got home late last Friday, no road problems (except for a little DOWNPOUR where we couldn't see for a bit, because it looked like we were driving through the ocean XD) and I am in real-food-homemade heaven, not to mention my mom keeps this place CLEAN which is a far cry from college life. We had clean checks, but there are different levels of clean for sure, and I feel much better now that I know this place is spider/dust/deadskin cells from a bajillion college students-free clean.

On the downside, I miss my baby nephew like CRAZY and I have no idea how I'll survive the next 5 months without him ;A; On the upside, I have my fluffy orange cat to snuggle with. but he's not the same. but I did miss him. ahhhhh why can't I have both? anyway.

So I been hanging with my good and awesome friends :D Roleplaying a bit with basil (when she has time off from the navy/work) and getting back in the swing of things. Gonna start working Stat, checking up on my old jobs and seeing if they need me back (one is affirmative, but I won't work till September/fall ish) So we'll see.

As always, commission are open! I'm thinking of re-doing my commission sheet, what do you guys think? Please leave feedback on what sort of information you would want on there .

And someone pointed out that people are weird and may not be buying commissions because I don't charge enough what are your thoughts on this? I want to be affordable to a lot of people out there, but if they think I don't value my art enough and therefore won't commission me, that could be a problem, you know?

Anyway, herp-de-derr there's my very (uninformative, actually. sorry about that XD) update!

I AM SO HAPPY. AGH. I CAN'T EVEN.

I am completely packed and moved out of my apartment, passed white glove. STRESS=GONE. ANNIHILATED.
Now I am to be a couch potato at my sisters apartment, getting baby snuggles, until my other sister can drive me back to Montana (either next Friday or Saturday). I AM DONE WITH SCHOOL (for the next 5 months anyways)

I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE MY PEOPLE.

I am also exhausted....it was up in the 90's today, and super hot weather + working really hard+ cleaning and moving things = DEAD FAE. I am soooooo tired and ready to just chill.

though it does sadden me that my 'summer' starts right when summer pretty much ends. =3=
But I am planning on going hiking in glacier national park this summer, perhaps with some of my peeps, if not, then with family. I am also looking forward to seeing my kitty x3 I missed him so much. and regular meals. and real food. and not having to buy milk. or butter. or anything.

not really looking forward to being without my baby nephew though :( I don't know how on earth I will be able to handle that.

and of course, I will deeply miss my people here :(

I feel like I have grown a LOT during this semester. I dunno, I just feel....older I guess. (stress and responsibility must do that to you XD) I feel like maybe I've learned the value of some things, not to mention all this new knowledge crammed in my head. I didn't really realize I had changed until my friend pointed it out when we were messaging. (mostly that I trolled her more than usual XD courtesy of my roomate XD)

I guess I finally feel like a real teenager, no longer a child. (Ironic, since I turn 20 in a couple months, and will no longer be a 'teen' XD)

I dunno. But I do know I made some great friends here. And I can't wait to see my friends back home again :)

So I did a sped-up process video for the two gift arts I did for jabb and ruby. They were a pin to make, my computer now hates me, and they aren't perfect because the software kept freaking out at me, but i hope you guys enjoy watching how I work :)

Hey guys! so I was finally able to get some art done this weekend, got my darn 8 page research paper done with, hopefully I'll able to do more.
My family is in town for the weekend, since it's my nephews 1st birthday! wow, time sure flies like crazy.

So, NEW PROJECT: SLEEP OF REASON
Started off with a quote: "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters", a quote found in an etching made by the Spanish painter and printmaker Francisco Goya. Etched between 1797–1799.
So this project is going to be another short manga thing, (DON'T WORRY- I'M GOING TO FINISH TANGIBLE HEARTS FIRST. ) and It's going to be a bit touchy, or at least, on a touchy subject for some. The idea has been incubating for a while, but when I read that quote it just sort of clicked (and I also gained a title, wooo!) It might be a while before you guys actually see something from it.
