Every once in a while a song will really catch my ear/mind and I magically play it on repeat, whether on a you tube player or just in my head. I suppose it's because something about it really resonates with me at the time. There have been times where I go back a week or two later to listen to the 'song of the week' and it doesn't have the same effect, and I can't quite pin down why.
This song is almost haunting to me right now, I can feel my emotions responding to it as I listen, something almost melancholy, but hopeful, and in the end, confident and content. It's hard to describe adequately. Something strong but vulnerable. Something about growing up.
I hope you all got some sort of feeling conveyed by these works, because I feel like each one is a process I'm going through, trying to set down thoughts and feelings into a work intentionally. I really wanted to convey the essence of that song and quote in those pieces, (which also meant playing that song on repeat quite a few times as I worked) and tried to capture my own personal thoughts in each one. They all have some subtle little representations and meanings as well.
Any thoughts/questions are welcome, and feel free to comment. whether I know you or not. whether you are a watcher or not. I hope you all enjoyed the art, because I sure did :)

Posted 13 years agoSooooo I never really had an urge to get on the IRC chat or the Forums till now, but I'm finding it's not so easy. what's up with that? Do I just fail?
It's really frustrating because I need to get some info from furries for a paper I'm writing for my college english class (and we all know that getting info about furries on the interwebs is not always valid fact, I mean, remember that csi episode?)
so have any of you guys used IRC and forums? did you find it hard?
and in case anyone actually read and responds to this, here is my original question:

Posted 13 years agoFirst off- FEEL FREE TO COMMENT. ON ANYTHING. AND EVERYTHING. because I like hearing from you guys. :)=3= *bored tired face*
I never ever update regularly. sorry guys XD but considering the scarce few comments I get, I really don't think anyone keeps up on these anyway. unless they have an interesting title. maybe not even then.
So yesterday I broke up with my boyfriend.
and it wasn't because he did anything wrong. in fact, I think I'd have to search forever just to find someone who is so sweet, caring, and patient as he was.
unfortunately, there was absolutely no spark. zero. when we kissed I didn't really feel anything (yes folks, that was my first kiss). I could tell that he was really beginning to get emotionally involved with me, and he liked me a great deal more than I liked him. It's because he is such a nice guy that I wanted to break it off, because he deserves someone who loves him to death. We're still going to be friends, and hang out, because I do legitamately enjoy spending time with him, it's just that...I don't feel like that about him, and I don't want him wasting his time, money, and emotions on me when I don't think it's going to get anywhere. Not to mention if I let it go on too long, it'd hurt him ten times more.
I also feel bad because I'm so relieved. I don't have to feel like I'm lying to him, or forcing things, or pretending. I feel bad because I know he's going through a hard time whereas I'm pretty darn happy because I can just enjoy myself with him without feeling uneasy at how the relationship is going.
Since I'm his first girlfriend (and he's my first boyfriend) I'm hoping he'll be okay.
all in all, I learned a lot, and I definitely need to get to know other guys and date around so I can understand myself better, and what works/doesn't work.
Basically, I took the hardest baby step towards understanding myself and relationships.
Homework is same old, same old. too much, but not overwhelming.
caught up on young justice.
dying every week waiting for Saturday so I can watch Legend of korra.
FANGIRLING over how much I love the new owl city songs.
snuggling my adorable nephew.
enjoying the heat wave (80 degrees for the past 4 days!!!!) and thunderstorms.

revisiting my oc Pria. writing down more of her backstory. unfortunately, that Roleplay is on hiatus right now because my rp partner is in the navy and they are apparently working my poor bff to the ground.

seriously. it's weird- already feels like summer. I mean, I've already been to a BBQ and bonfire dude!

Posted 13 years agosorry guys, finals were a total BLAH BRAIN DEAD week. not to mention white glove is crazy. oh, and I grew a boyfriend over the past coupla days, so he's been wanting to hang out a bunch.
so the 7 hour car ride was actually pretty fun this time around, since I came back with my absolute bff-practically sister. It was a party! :D
that being said, I am finally HOME and I have kitty's to fluff! oh, it's been 3 months since I've had kitties to fluff.....I didn't exactly miss the idiot-stupid chickens though...oh well, good with the bad, right? ;)
anyway, I'll hopefully do more art in the next couple of weeks, though no guarantees, since I'll be doing some traditional stuff and catching up with all my peeps down here (

I cannot even begin to describe how hard I ship Makorra. like SQUEE FREAK OUT HAPPY HAPPY DANCE and all that.
I was super excited to find out that it's being released on April 14th. and then THERE WAS EVEN MORE HAPPINESS
when I found out that the korranation peeps were releasing the first 2 episodes early since we faved, shared, tweeted, fb'd, etc the info a certain # of times.
...I have a confession. I've already watched the first 2 episodes 4-5 times.
yup, I'm hopeless.
But I love the expressions XD hahahaha they are so funny. and the the tenzin/korra interactions are hilarious-not to mention tenzin's kids

aaaaand it doesn't help that mako is freakin hot. though I wish they'd tell us the 'zuko's mom' info already >:Y I mean, in episode one when tenzins daughter asks katara (gran gran) what happened to zuko's mom and katara is about to explain and gets interrupted....I WANTED TO STRANGLE SOMETHING. thank you for trolling, creators. thank you.

Holy mother of all things wonderful, please take the time to watch/listen to this video. Lindsey Sterling is my freaking idol. She makes me want to learn how to play the violin. And I always draw better when I listen to this song :D Can you believe she wrote it? :heart:
I'm having a blast up here. These last couple of weeks were awesome. I got to have a chair spinning contest against my art 101 teacher, in science fundamentals we blew up pure hydrogen (making an awesome conflagration) and then we blew up pure hydrogen mixed with pure oxygen (2:1 ratio- made impressive esplosion. and definitely sated my inner pyro)
Not to mention I got lots of baby nephew snuggles. :D
oh! and if any of you guys out there enjoy good rock n' roll, check out this station: It's hosted by an awesome person

Anyway, sorry I kinda went all awol on you guys, my roomate decided to move out, so on thursday I was helping her pack like a ninja, only to remember that it was also clean checks AND I hadn't done my art homework. finished everything around 9:30 ish, did some more packing n' stuff and pretty much tanked around 11.
Friday was more of the same- had to take a test (didn't even have time to study for the monster! still got an 80% though...I guess that isn't too terrible) and helped the (now ex-roomie) cram everything in her car.
Friday afternoon and all day Saturday I got kidnapped by my sister to help them clean and paint their new apartment. IT's been a really busy coupla days. I hope tomorrow isn't too bad....especially since dishes are piling up and I need to do them =3=
I'll start working on the masquerade pics again tomorrow...I'm about ready to crash already, I'm so tired. I think I'll turn in early to hopefully have more energy tomorrow.
anyway! I hope you guys had better (and far less eventful) weekends then me!

Simply comment with your bid and which pose it is. I would prefer bidding in dollar increments, but you can also raise it by .50. nothing less, please.

-APPEARANCE: blond. well, actually, it's now a darker muddy-in-between-blond-and-brown color. nothing special. blue eyes. not very vivid, not cool enough to be grey. just...blue. (I know, I'm very blah blah boring XD) Glasses. 24/7. (well, not when I sleep obviously.) wire frames, not the popular thick plastic ones (cuz I tried those....and I look like -BEEP- in them. terrible. so I have brownish wire frames with a cream swirly design on the sides. woop. )
uh....normal white person...yeah, that's me....I'm about 5'3 or 5'4...I wear flats so I'm usually pretty short compared to other chicks. (since they wear the omahgawsh-high heels)
I don't normally wear make-up either. If I do, it's just a little foundation and some eyeshadow. no lipstick, no mascara stuff... (you know I'm dressing up when I wear mascara! hahaha, most of you won't know this from just knowing me IRL. I tend to not voice my opinions/dislikes/annoyances. If I'm whining, it's usually just because I'm mildly annoyed. If I'm really pissed, I'll just be a little more quiet and antisocial, you will very rarely hear it from me (my family gets the brunt of my anger, sadly.). I don't like freaking out at people and I don't like showing negative emotions to people. you will probably never see me cry (unless it's of laughter XD) cuz I'm a private person like that. (one of the reasons why I hate watching sad movies with other people)

I have some friends who have said I 'don't have any problems' and that's not true- I smile and laugh and don't show my upset-ness because I choose that way. I don't like letting the world know I have problems, and I don't like inconvienceing people because I have problems. I'm a tough girl- I know I'll be alright in a day or two tops. I bounce back pretty well.
I think people who post on Facebook all their unhappy I-hate-the-world/myfamily/my friend status' are really immature. I don't think it's cool to make even more drama and then letting the whole world see private things like that. when my aunt and uncle divorced they created all sorts of problems by facebooking all sorts of crap. I felt like they were a bunch of 3 year olds. and it made talking with anyone in the extended family really awkward for a long time. It's fine to post that you are sad, but there is a time and a place for everything.
sometimes I feel like I'm 30 instead of 19. I act like a kid to remedy that. (talking cutesy, getting excited over little things. stuff like that XD)
I'm super bouncy-fun when with friends, but when it comes to school and classwork, I tend to be pretty serious. that's why I have problems making friends in school because I'm down to business in the classroom. I don't socialize well there and I have problems breaking the ice. If someone starts a conversation or instigates the relationship, I will respond positively though. so don't be afraid to approach me :3

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:
Transitions in Art and Culture ... MWF -7:45 - 8:45 AM (humanities class)
American Foundations ... MWF -12:45 - 1:45 PM <-- probably my hardest class
Fundemental Religion class ... F -10:15AM - 12:15 PM <-- only on Friday
Tuesday Thursday:
Introduction to the Visual Arts ... TR -11:30AM - 1:00 PM
Science Foundations ... TR -3:15 - 4:15 PM

My art teacher from High school has pancreatic cancer and he is not reacting well to his medications :(
This man is the sweetest person ever, he's so freaking awesome I can't even explain. I can guarentee I wouldn't be nearly as into art or as good if it weren't for him. He's so supportive, loving, and knows how to teach. he has impacted so many different peoples lives, and his family is young and beautiful. He's not very old, he's rather young, and I'm asking you all to keep him in your thoughts, prayers, or whatever you believe will help him.
please.

Posted 14 years agoSo I'm still alive, in case you all were wondering. :)
Move in day and shopping day were pretty crazy, so I really haven't had a chance to update or do art yet (cross your fingers that I will have time!) But I;m actually attending classes now, and so far, it doesn't seem too horrible XD
my first class this morning was at 7:45, which was a bit of a pain, but not too terrible. The teacher is pretty funny, and reminds of Einstein without the crazy hair. The class is all about art, literature, and some film, so it should be interesting enough. too bad I have to walk uphill to the OTHER side of campus, but once I get used to being active again It should be fine. :P haha, yes, lazy me.
Already I have spent a bundle of time with the adorable nephew, so sadly, my roomies haven't seen as much of me as they should XD thankfully they all seem pretty cool.
OTL SO MUCH MONEY SPENT! but...it's for food...and textbooks...and things I need.....BUT STILL *cryface* hahahha oh well. It should be fine....yeah...should be.... Besides, there is this sweet place, the DI, where you can get some super nice stuff for like, $4 (I got two nice, comfy, cute skirts for $4) and a cool hat and a hat/headband thing that is comfy, warm, and cute. for like, $2 or something. It's a beautiful place....
speaking of money, I thought I had forgotten to bring my scholarship check....so there was MUCH panic and as soon as we got back from shopping I was searching through my financial folder etc, when I thought to check my sketchbook.... good ol' sketchbook. I was smart enough to put it there because I knew I wouldn't leave it behind XD
relievedplz SRSLY THO BRO. I JUST ABOUT HAD A HEART ATTACK. THAT'S $2,000 RIGHT THERE.
haaaa, so uhm....
I haven't had a breakdown yet. (yay me!) but then again....my parents aren't gone yet....I see em' one last time before they go home.
...and I'll have my two older sisters and my nephew down here to hang with if I get to homesick. and there is a marvelous invention called a CELL PHONE

first time, i had it halfway linearted and my computer trolls me and shuts down for updates IN THE MIDDLE OF WORKING
and then TODAY I had JUST finished linearting it, I SWEAR I saved it, and my mom asked me to make the key lime pie (and by 'asked' I mean 'threatened. and would prolly hide my laptop until I left for college cuz she's so stressed and sick of the kitchen' ) AND EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY BRO PLUG IT IN IT DECIDED TO MAGICALLY RUN OUT OF BATTERY AND SHUT DOWN.
