Tekken 6
Posted 16 years ago Finally was able to pick up Tekken 6. Haven't really dug deep into the game yet. Mostly trying to unlock stuff. The sucky part is that I didn't get the game preordered at Amazon.com or gamestop, which means I missed the extra Yoshimitsu costume. My favorite character, too...Ug. I see people dropping extra codes around, but I'm always too late on redeeming.
Anyone else pick this game up? Thoughts on it? Also, who's everyone's favs?

Describe Your Dream Furry
Posted 17 years agoWe all have different tastes. Some like them muscled. Some like them chubby. Old or young. Tigers, Bears, Lions, etc.
But what is your dream furry? Psychically, what would they look like? What kind of personality? How about in the bedroom?
Would love to hear what you guys come up with.

Video Game Meme
Posted 17 years agoTaken from
oktomato
1) What was your FIRST video game console?
Atari...though I didn't get serious into gaming until I got my NES.
2) Name a few games you played on said console.
River City Ransom, Code Name Viper, Super Mario Brothers 3, Super Dodgeball...
3) Excluding handhelds, how many VG consoles do you own presently?
Atari, NES, Saturn, Dreamcast, PSX, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360...so 9.
4) Were you a Street Fighter nut? Any character in particular?
Oh yes. Love to use Dee Jay in Super Turbo, Adon in the alpha series, and Urien in Third Strike.
5) Do you think Capcom is a FUCKING awesome company with kickass character designs?
Yea, I like Capcom a lot. I probably own more games by them then any other company.
6) Here's the scenario.. You had some friends over and you all ate FRIED CHICKEN! After the meal you all decide to play some video games. As your friend reaches for a controller you notice his/her hands are very "greasy." Are you the type that would insist they wash their hands before pawing the controller, or is it no big deal?
Just have them wipe their hands on a napkin or something.
7) What's your favorite RPG/Action RPG? I will allow a second and third fave if you insist.
I don't really care for RPGs...
8) Do you prefer 2D games or 3D games?
I like both, but 2d has that awesome charm to it, especially when it comes to fighters.
9) Are you an SNK fan?
Yes. I like SNK, though more for the Fatal Fury series than anything else. I'm not that huge on KOF, but I still like it.
9) Are you good at DDR?
Nope. Played it back in high school and actually got this one kid really addicted to it. But for me it was more of a fad or the thing of the moment. I don't play it anymore.
10) Who wants to kick that dog's ass from Duck Hunt?
Eh, I was pissed more at the duck that got away :P.
11) Have you skipped out on important events in life because of video games?
I called into work once...that's about it.
12) Do you listen to video game music?
Sure. Some of those SNK arranged tracks are golden. And there are lots of great songs from games out there that are just too good not to hear again.
13) Have you ever cosplayed a VG character?
No.
14) Have you ever been in an arcade playing a fighting game, KICKING ASS, and then some 6 year old asian kid comes in and OWNS YOU??
No. Most of the time if it was a little kid, they sucked. Had a gamepro magazine with them and all.
15) Name three games you would love to see remakes of if it was done properly.
1) Super Dodgeball
2) ....
3) ....
16) Mario or Sonic?
Can't choose. I like both.
17) When a movie shows up in the theaters, let's use Spider-man as an example, are you likely to buy the GAME version?
Nope. I've never bought a game based on a movie and most likely never will. I did, however, rent Kung Fu Panda just to see what it was like (okay, okay, it was because of Po).
18) What is your LEAST favorite genre of video games? (ex. fighting, sports, shooters, etc.)
It's a toss up between simulation sports and RPGs.
19) Is there a game out there that you feel was unique and didn't get enough love?
Maybe not unique, but I always thought Timelapse for the PC was a pretty cool game.
20) Have you ever verbally abused a game because you couldn't beat one of the levels and/or bosses?
Can't remember a specific case, but I probably did, especially when I was younger.
21) Do you own any VG apparel?
No.
22) What are your thoughts on the live-action Super Mario Bros movie?
Just weird. It's so goofy that's it's entertaining I guess. But as something based on Mario, way off.
23) On that note, what did you think about the live-action Street Fighter movie?
Horrible. Just...ug, no comment.
24) Who's hottest out of the KOF chicks?
I guess Blue Mary or Angel?
25) Do you say "old-school" a lot when you're having a VG conversation with others?
Honestly, I don't get to talk about games much with people, so I never have the chance ;).
26) Have you ever lent someone a game and they returned it to you damaged?
Yes...which is why I will never lend my games out ever again. One time I had a kid return the game to me not only broken, but his sister scribbled all over the case.
27) Do you own any imported games?
Oh yes. Lots.
28) Are you ready for this meme to be over, or could you keep going?
Keep 'em coming.
29) In this scenario, let's pretend you're going to get a video game tattoo! What would you get and where? This can be simple or elaborate.
Not a tattoo person...
30) Have you ever cried after you beat a game? If so why?
Not that I can think of. Though I have yelled in a fit of joy :P.

Well, my dad has cancer....
Posted 17 years ago I just got a call from my sister. She told me the news that my dad has lung cancer. I had talked to my parents a few days ago, but they never mentioned any of this. My sister told me that they were trying to keep the information from me. I guess they didn't want me to worry. Either way, this is something I should have been informed about right away.
I have no idea what's going on inside me at the moment. I had just come back from NY when my dad managed to pull through a life threatening blood clot. And now this.
For almost 2 and a half years my dad wouldn't even talk to me. Coming out to him pushed him away...but revealing my attraction to Roger, an older man, almost severed everything between us. It was only until recently that my dad started to warm up to me and get back on the path to the way things were.
I'm scared. Very scared. It won't be until next week that they give a more detailed analysis on his condition. Now is the time to plan to leave again. To visit my father, and hopefully try to mend some things. I pray that there is something or anything that can help him. I hope being there will be of some help. I love him. I always will.

Game Of The Moment - Puzzle De Bowling
Posted 17 years agoCategory - Puzzle / Toss
By - Nihon System / Moss
Furry Alert - Suited Anthro Lion, Disco Black Sheep
Quick Screens - http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/.....32/puzzleb.jpg
Graphics - If you've seen any of the popular toss puzzle games, you know what the expect. Puzzle De Bowling is no different. You have the chibi style characters tossing colorful objects. In this case, it's bowling balls. Everything is well presented and easy to recognize. While puzzle games are not known for their amazing graphics, the visuals is this game are decent enough to get the job done.
Sound - The sound is a mixed bag. There are definitely some catchy tunes in this title. The bowling sounds are also well done. From the sound the ball makes as it hits the lane to the pins crashing, the theme is perfectly set. The character's voices, however, leave much to be desired. Although the characters only really talk after you have completed a level, some of the voices do not fit their character at all. The lion character, Synauther, sounds like an 8 year old boy. In fact, most the voices sound like they got voice talent from a 1st grade homeroom. But this is a puzzle game, so I guess cutesy stuff like that is what they were going for.
Gameplay - Take Bust-A-Move, add a moving shooter, take away wall bounces, and add the ability to curve your shot....and you pretty much have Puzzle De Bowling. Surprisingly, this creates a very fun and alternative to the bubble busting dragons. You are presented with bowling balls of many colors. The idea is to shoot the bowling ball at the pins in front of you and match 3 or more (sound familiar?). After so many shots, the pins will drop down a level. If you don't match 3 or more, the bowling ball turns into a pin. You can choose to gutter a ball, but the line of pins will automatically push forward. If your pins push past the line at the bottom, you bottom out. The neat part about the game is the ability to curve your shots. At first, you might end up going at this game with simply straight shots. But once you start to utilize the curving of the ball you will realize the many options available to you. The game uses 3 buttons. The first button is the shooter, which is placed in the center. The buttons on the left and right are what curve your shot. Press either button once to move your cursor and create the appropriate curve. Press it again to move the cursor further forward to determine where the ball will begin to curve at. Press shoot and walla. Also in this game are Super Shots. You have a meter located on the left. When it fills completely you have access to your character's Super Shot. Press down on the joystick to equip the shot. This can be anything from an explosive bowling ball, a ball that will change a lot of pins to one color, or a giant bowling ball that will mow down an entire line. Although characters share some Super Shots, most have their own. You can choose to go through a puzzle mode or verse the computer or a friend. Whatever you do, I'm sure you'll find this game an addicting alternative to Bust-A-Move.
Overall (B+) - Like Bust-A-Move? Try this game. It gives a neat spin on the genre with a cool theme. Plus it's got a well dressed anthro lion. Can't go wrong there ;)

Game Of The Moment - Osman
Posted 17 years agoCategory - Platform / Scrolling Fighter

Quick Screens - http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/.....e_32/osman.jpg
Graphics - The graphics is this game are very nice. Everything is drawn well and there are a wide range of colors used. From the warm yellows and reds of the hot desert to the cool blues and greens of a nighttime laboratory....you won't be disappointed. There are also a lot of original backdrops and graphics used throughout the game. You rarely see looping of backgrounds or objects. Or at least, it's rarely noticeable.
Sound - The sound is okay. Nothing really stands out as great, nor does anything stand out as bad. You have the typical grunts, explosions, and the like. The music is forgettable, if a bit boring. But all in all it gets the job done.
Gameplay - Osman has relatively the same mechanics as Strider. You can climb up vertical walls and hang from the ceiling, all the while allowing you to attack. You also have a slide available to you. You can use the slide as a high dodge, but you can also turn it into an attack, or even use it to toss an enemy. Tossing the enemy becomes an great tool in beating the game. The start up (the slide) is relatively safe, and throwing an enemy will allow them to collide with other objects and enemies ahead of them. Holding forward causes your character to run, and pressing Jump in air when close to the enemy does an air toss. There are also "bombs" available to you which give your character a super move. One of the last mechanics is the ability to increases your attack range and damage by shaking the joystick when pressing an the Attack button. The levels are very well done. There are multiple paths to take, and many ways to complete each level. There are even ways to skip boss fights if you know what you're doing. I've also faced the bosses in different orders and even different locals.
Overall (A) - If you like Strider, you'll love this game. The game gives the player a good challenge, nice visuals, and well rounded mechanics. I suggest anyone that has any interest in scrolling fighters give this one a try.

Overall (A) - If you like Strider, you'll love this game. The game gives the player a good challenge, nice visuals, and well rounded mechanics. I suggest anyone that has any interest in scrolling fighters give this one a try.
I'm Back :D
Posted 17 years agoSorry to some of those that I've missed contact with. Especially Ian and Marc. I've been away to NY to visit my family for quite awhile. I had very little time to get on the net, and when I did I had to be safe (wink wink:P).
I plan on writing again. I have a story that's been cooking up in my head for a little while. Don't want to give too much away, but let's just say it has a cute chubby raccoon butler.
I have 2 friend stories that also need to be finished. Although I need to get in contact with you guys because I can't find where the files are on my comp. Ug.
While I was at NY I did restart my hobby of writing fighting game FAQs. I ended up writing a ton of them...found here:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/re.....08.html?type=1
Right now I am working on a HUGE comprehensive JoJos guide (winks at Ian). Also working on one for Warzard.
Besides that, nothing else new to report. Just want to get settled again. And again, sorry to those that I've lost contact with during this crazy time. I hope to chat to all of you soon. Take care guys.

Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side
Posted 17 years ago So I've taken a short break from writing stories to get back to my hobby of writing fighting game FAQs. I still have two more parts of Brian's side story and a special story for a friend in the works.
I recently got the rom for Eternal Champions for K Fusion. It had been so long since I played it...talk about bringing back memories. I thought, what the hell, I'll write an FAQ for it, considering the two on gamefaqs are kind of lacking in the movelist department.
After playing it for a bit, there are definitely some funny things I've come across. Certain characters have longer hit stuns than others. The way the game is set up, you can move in directly after striking the opponent with a weak punch. Characters like Shadow are infinite bait. Just LP, move in, LP, move in, etc....Game Over. Kinda of funny. Also, there are some weird glitches where certain moves will refuse to connect in certain situations, and other moves becoming unblockable at certain distances.
Despite the gameplay flaws, it still manages to have its own charm. The stage backgrounds are excellently designed, and the overkills/sudden deaths (stage fatalities) completely crush anything you'd see in MK. I do admit, I'm having fun picking the game apart.
So a question to my readers....any fond memories of this game as a kid? Or how about other bloody fighters like Primal Rage and Mortal Kombat? I'd love to hear them.
