Hey there meeps, beeps, peeps and bleeps. Got a new Various Happenings up this week, as promised! I'm going to be trucking along on that and Clara as hard as I can in between paid jobs, so keep a lookout! Things are going well on the financial side for the moment, commissions have been very lucrative and we're getting them done at a good clip, so I'm rather happy about that. I've got to put in my passport forms and do my taxes this week so that's going to cost a bit, but that's okay, finances are actually pretty solid thanks to you guys. Also, I've actually got my forms this year, so it should take a lot less time than usual!
If you're interested in Commissions, you can head over to that page and check out the process and what's available. You generally have to be a member of the discord to get on the list and check-in, but there's the process for that on the page. I know some people don't necessarily want to come into the discord or can't, for whatever reason, so I might put up a form page in case people want to submit things. I can't guarantee when I'll get around to them, but if I see something fun, I might pull it and contact you, so just keep a lookout for that sometime in the future if that interests you.
Dicy's going back to the office full time next week, unfortunately, so I'm going to be getting up and going to bed a little earlier, so we'll try and have the streams reflect that. We'll be working more on projects and wrapping up in progress commissions to keep things from getting too out of hand. I've got a Various Happenings and a Clara Cosmos comic both in-progress, so we'll see about getting at least one of those done.
Posting is going well, too, and we'll keep on at it so that I don't get behind again. Once that's done, that'll free up more time for other things, which is the general goal!
Anyway, still cold. I'm sure I probably forgot to mention something here, but what can you do? I'll tell y'all next week.

Hey peeps! This week has been productive, I must say, but there's always more to do. Commissions are starting and I've already got a nice group that I'm working on! We're going to keep at it, though, and I'm going to be doing my best to juggle things without getting too overwhelmed.
The forum has, unfortunately, been latched onto by spambots already, so if you've signed up lately and haven't been approved, it's probably because you accidentally got caught in with the hundred or so spambots I nuked. Sorry about that! You can reregister and send me a message to me at sali(at)foxsaliant.com so I'll know you're trying to sign up if you don't get approved in a couple of days!
This last Friday was the 10th Anniversary for Various Happenings, and it's gotten me feeling a kind of way, I suppose. I'm not as far along by now as I'd hoped I'd be (only about half of what I'd estimated, much less where I want to be) but on the other hand, I'm still doing it, so there's something to be said about that. I appreciate everyone who's stuck with me this long and I hope that, going forward (barring the world devolving into complete insanity) I'll be able to work on things more consistently and bring the story to life. I know it's things I've said before, and I trot out the same hopes and dreams each time I'm feeling nostalgic or a little down about it, but there's something to be said for persistence. Brick by brick, piece by piece, we'll build it.
Got a building inspection on Monday, so I won't be streaming then, but I'll stream on Tuesday & Wednesday instead.
The bookmarks are still in the works, and I have Clara stuff and a few other projects I want to get up on the site, so we'll see how those go. I have taxes to do soon, but it looks like money will, at least for the moment, not be an issue. I can only hope that the little bit of stability I've managed to claw out of the situation will stick around.

Hey peeps! Sorry about missing the update last week! There was a lot going on and I'd spent the entire by-week working on the Commissions page, so I was a bit out of it by the end of the week!
It's not done yet, but it's functional and I'll just be spiffying it up a little bit at a time as I go along. All the information is there, though, in readable format, so go check it out if you're interested!
Some of you may have noticed that on my various galleries and such, I'm not going by Spooky anymore, but my old handle of Saliant! There's a lot of reasons for that, but I just felt I needed to recenter myself and that the persona of Spooky was kind of chafing me at this point.
I was feeling nostalgic, too, and I wanted to kind of bring in parts of myself that I haven't been really paying attention to or giving enough air to for a while.
Plus, "Saliant" is just a more unique and recognizable art handle. So yeah, I'm Sali again, and that's okay! I'm having fun with it!
Spooky won't be going away or anything, so I'm sure we'll see more stuff with her every now and again.
I'm sorry about the lack of comics lately, there's just been a lot going on, and being sick during all of January and then having to make up for it in February really took a toll on my ability to work on things that weren't immediately gratifying. I am chipping away at the current Various Happenings update and I have some collab comics that are in the work as well, so that should be fun. Then once Chapter 6 is done and those comics are wrapped up, I can focus on Clara and some other things I want to work on before throwing myself into VH Chapter 7.
There's a lot to do, and I'm trying to juggle it, while also making sure that my monetary needs are covered, but we'll see how it goes and with things finally getting done a little at a time I'm sure we'll finally get everything where it needs to be sooner than later.
I hope everyone's doing okay. I know things are wild now, but help those around you where you can, and most of all, take care of yourself first and foremost. You can't help anyone else if you're down and out.
I'll see you all next week! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey peeps! This week I'll be taking a by-week in order to take care of all the posting and administrative stuff I've been falling behind on lately. I've still got the uploads from last year to wrap up, and I'm going to try my best to get the commissions page up this week so I can start taking those in the near future. I want to better manage my juggling of projects, so I'm going to be taking things in small chunks during streams so I can maintain my enthusiasm for whatever I'm working on, rather than dedicating eight-hour streams to a single thing. Hopefully that'll get things out faster and decrease my rate of burnout. That means there won't be as many solid SotS streams, but I'll be offering them as an option that people can do in addition to their regular commissions should they so desire (that is, something extra they can tack onto the order.) This will apply to the Sketch on the Spot Clean-Ups as well! Hopefully that'll allow people to get things cheap if they want, as well as allowing those that want to get something a bit bigger a chance to.
I've got a few expenditures that I'm going to prioritize in the next few months (passport, taxes) which is why I want to get commissions back up and running. That way, I have a constant influx of cash in order to invest in these things, just in case, as well as paying off credit and other useful things. While SotS has been great, I'm starting to feel the burn, so it's time to shake things up a bit.
I also haven't been able to work on comics, and if I'm going to maintain commission work, as well as do fun stuff, and work on the comics, I've got to do a bit better at juggling and be able to vary the kind of things I'm working on in order to not overtax myself in any specific way. Composition, clean-up, writing, adminstrative work, and all these other skills function differently and tax me in different ways, so limiting the amount of time spent on any one of them will hopefully allow me to work more consistently.
Still, things are going, and we're making progress on things, even if it's slow at times. So we'll just have to see what happens with it!

So the Valentine's Day streams were rather successful, but I've got a lot of leftovers from those streams to finish up, so I'll be doing an extra stream or few this week in order to wrap all of that up. I've got about fourteen (14) at count left to do, or a little over half, so I'll be taking care of as many of those as I can over the week. If I have to do more by the stream on Friday, as well, I will, but hopefully things will be done by then so I can proceed onto normal work. Making sure the credit cards are paid and also saving up for a passport (just in case) are things that take precedence over projects and comics unfortunately, though I really do want to get back to everything and I'm trying as hard as I can to get things back to where they need to be.
We're almost there!

Slowly getting these things checked off! I'm hoping to have the Hall of Friends up this week, at least in some form, and hopefully the commission page soon. I know I've been promising that for a couple of months now, but Sketch on the Spot has been keeping things decently full up in the meantime, and I haven't really wanted to open up more intense commissions recently, just for stress reasons. But eventually I just gotta do it, because having the cash outweighs the stress of doing them, as long as I don't take a bunch in advance and keep on top of them by doing them one at a time. I know a lot of people have PMed me or e-mailed me about commissions recently, and I've just not had the social battery charge to respond to everyone just yet, because I would have just basically been telling people "no" over and over. Which, that's on me, and I apologize to anyone who's been waiting to see what I say. I will get to all of your messages when I'm not too tired to talk to people.
Also, on Thursday and Friday of this week, I am doing a Sketch on the Spot special for Valentine's Day. It will be simple two-character sketches for $30 USD. Nothing fancy or super involved, very quick and messy, but I thought it would be nice, so if you're a member of the discord, be sure to be there if you want to grab something. It'll be one sketch per person, so I'll try and get everyone who asks for one, though I can't guarentee that. I'll try though.
While it may be a tad late for this event, if you aren't a member of the discord, and you want to be, you can join my SubscribeStar for the low low price of $1. That will get you into the discord member area where you can vote on future things and see how I'm doing with various current projects.
Still got the comics on the docket, of course. It's been hard to work on them lately, because of financial stuff and sickness. I'm going to be trying to get this comic sequence I'm working on with Azure done, because it's been sitting for almost two years now (it doesn't seem like it, but it has) and I want to get it taken care of so we can reference it and work on other things together in the future. Then I want to finish the current chapter of Various Happenings and the current Episode of Clara Cosmos, which are both sitting in production right now. There just never seems to be enough time or energy, but we'll make it work.
I'm almost done uploading my 2024 pictures to the off-site galleries, and doing the ones for January 2025 shouldn't take that long. It's tedious and tiresome, but once I've caught up it should become much easier.
I do have the forum link on the front page now, if you want to sign up for that, and the stream link itself, if you're curious about that or need an easy place to access it. We're also going to be adding landing pages for my various projects on the front page as well, including some other work by friends of mine, which I hope you will all enjoy. So look to see those expanding in the future.
And that's really all that's going on right now. Things are still a bit stressful, and the future is uncertain in a lot of ways, but I'm just going to keep pressing forward. I still intend to make this a productive year.
It's still cold, but I hope you had a blessed Imbolc, and hopefully things will start to warm up (after this newest cold snap, I guess!)

Okay, so the last couple of weeks have been a bit rough. We managed to work up our monthly household contribution, but missing a few SotS has put more pressure on me than I'd like, so while we're not in danger financially or anything, I only managed the bare minimum, which isn't what I want.
The worst of the sickness seems to have passed, so right now I'm just trying to readjust my sleep schedule and get back to going to bed at a reasonable time. Trying to do so, along with some minor congestion and dehydration, has left me more or less exhausted and tired all the time, however. This has impacted my self-care and household chores somewhat (though this isn't specific to me, we've pretty much all been zonked out), so a lot of this week is going to be me trying to catch up on that.
Speaking of catching up, January didn't go at all how I'd hoped, so we're still stuck on all the things that I wanted to get done.
Various Happenings Ch.6 is still in progress. I've done the composition for most of the remaining pages, I just have a couple left. I'll start trying to chip away a little bit (from half-an-hour to four hours, depending) every day so I can push through it to the new material. Once that's done, I'm going to finish scripting and composing the current section of Clara Cosmos (perhaps even up to the end of Episode 1 Part 1) and see if I can't get a running buffer for both of those. The collab that I'm working on with Azure will be happening on stream, and should end up being a lot less daunting than it seemed at first. I've done a lot of that sort of work in the last couple of years at this point, so I'm not as intimidated as I was when I started it.
As for general Fox Saliant work, I also want to get to regularly working on the bookmarks; there are six left and I know they're not as difficult as they could be, I just need to relax and do them. I spent a lot on the printing equipment, and I don't want it to sit until it seizes up, so I need to start working on that. I'm almost done with posting all of my 2024 items on the external galleries, too. I've got about 30 pieces left, so we're right there, I just literally have not had any energy.
Things are kind of scary right now, and even as I'm trying to get everything in a row, there are things that threaten to smash everything to bits. I always feel like I'm running behind, and it's hard to make enough money these days and still work on things I want to work on. But I'm doing my best to organize and get ahead of the game for once.

Okay, so the last couple of weeks have been a bit rough. We managed to work up our monthly household contribution, but missing a few SotS has put more pressure on me than I'd like, so while we're not in danger financially or anything, I only managed the bare minimum, which isn't what I want.
The worst of the sickness seems to have passed, so right now I'm just trying to readjust my sleep schedule and get back to going to bed at a reasonable time. Trying to do so, along with some minor congestion and dehydration, has left me more or less exhausted and tired all the time, however. This has impacted my self-care and household chores somewhat (though this isn't specific to me, we've pretty much all been zonked out), so a lot of this week is going to be me trying to catch up on that.
Speaking of catching up, January didn't go at all how I'd hoped, so we're still stuck on all the things that I wanted to get done.
Various Happenings Ch.6 is still in progress. I've done the composition for most of the remaining pages, I just have a couple left. I'll start trying to chip away a little bit (from half-an-hour to four hours, depending) every day so I can push through it to the new material. Hey there, peeps.
I have, unfortunately, been rather sick the last few days so things have not quite been going as I'd like. Though we are making progress on a number of things, it seems like our family's come down with not one, but two different bugs to accost us; a sinus and chest one, and a norovirus. While I thought to have dodged the latter, the stomach issues hit me yesterday rather heavily and I've been dealing with that since, so that's no fun.
Still, I will schedule things as I'd planned to do, but if I have to sit out a stream or two, unfortunately, there's not a lot I can do about that. It was hard enough to actually sit at the computer and type things, so even this announcement was a bit late. Still, I'm going to try and make up for it, over the next couple of weeks, but I have to wait for this sickness to work itself out of my system first. Hopefully it'll all be cleared up by this Friday's Sketch on the Spot.
Otherwise, we're just... progressing along the plan we've had for a bit. I haven't gotten as much done as I'd like, but when is that ever the case?

Still chipping away at things, but slowly we're getting more organized! We've almost caught up on our uploads from last year, and once that's done, that'll be another thing I won't have to be dumping so much time into!
The remainder of Chapter 6 of Various Happenings is being worked on as we speak, and then, once that's in upload mode, we'll get to working on Clara while the VH comics are running. Hopefully, once we've gotten a little bit of a buffer, things will run a bit smoother, and I'll be able to keep up with the new and exciting things rather than chipping away at stuff I've had sitting in documents for over a year at this point.
Still, every day I get closer to being current and to catching up to my enthusiasm on things. I've also got two of the bookmarks done, and the two extras that were voted on have been decided, so I hope you enjoy those when they come out, soon enough!
In other news, it's fucking cold out! > <; Holy crap!
My feet are frozen half the time. @3@; We're down below 0°F at night and I have to run my space heater constantly. But that's okay. Hopefully the next place we end up has better insulation than this one does so I can actually enjoy the wintertime like I want to!

Hey peeps! It is now well into the new year and I'm chipping away at things. Got some new buttons down and trying to get them to point to the right places. I haven't updated the Hall of Friends in a while (which I feel bad about) but I'll do my best to focus on maintaining my individual pages here more in the future and getting everything uploaded to this site.
Like I've said before, I kind of want to make this my home on the net now and my other gallery sites just... places where people can go see my art if they're already there.
Anyway, the support link is up and I've updated a few of the buttons to be more visible and not to blend in as much. Hopefully that'll make them easier to use. I'm still working on getting all my 2024 pieces uploaded, it's just very tedious, but I'll get there eventually!
Working on the bookmarks again, and trying to get things sorted out. It's all coming together a little at time!
Not much else to say currently. There's snow on the ground and it looks lovely out right now. A nice quiet winter. Me and the family went out and built snowpeoples. It was nice.

Happy New Year to you and yours!
As you can see, there’s a bit of a difference on the front page of the site! I’d hoped to have this done by the new year, but the holidays, and sickness, and whatnot have precluded me from working on it as much as I’d like. Still, I hope this does a good job of centralizing my info in the future!
As you can see, there are the banners for Various Happenings and Clara Cosmos there on the left, and there will be more projects and old galleries available as time goes on. I just need to make buttons for everything and get started on updating the pages for everything, so that might take a bit. I wanted to kind of throw myself out there on the first update of the new year, because if I just let it sit behind the curtain, who knows when I might actually get around to doing it.
On the right are buttons for changing the news pane, so you can switch between the news, my schedule, my project goals, and my commission list. All of the links for my offsite galleries and social media are there as well.
I have to add in the commission page (yeah, I’ve been dragging my feet on it, sorry, it just hasn’t come up), the support button for SubscribeStar, as well as the Hall of Friends, which needs to be redone. New banner and new background. As well as a shop page. So there will be a lot to do, and I aim to get movin’ and groovin’ in this new year!
You can check out all the information on the other site panes as well, if you want to learn more!
This week will just be a normal one. I don’t really have any particularly unusual plans. We’ll see if we can get back to those bookmarks, and start building up money for taxes. This week we've got an update to The Adventures of Clara Cosmos, if you want to go check that out! Comics might be a bit slow around the end/beginning of the year, but I'll do my best to keep going. My main goal, however, is to secure funds for the end of the year, since I have a lot of expenses around the beginning of the year (including my portion of the rent, the payments for the server hosting, my 3-month phone bill, and tax prep.) The money I've got built up in my SubscribeStar currently should cover the hosting and domain expenses, but I still need to make sure I have what I need for the rest of it. I'm right on the edge, and couple more SotS will probably do, but I always fret and watch these things hawkishly.
So if a few weeks get skipped I apologize, but I'll still be working on things; just chalk it up to the holidays. (I'm also going to be taking the holidays themselves and a few days here and there out to just relax and enjoy myself, because I should, frankly.)
In the meantime, check out the schedule on the site!
As I've stated before, I have already settled on commission prices for the new year, I'm just doing a little revamp in the way info is displayed here. I want to clean up the site a little bit, along with trying something new for the front page, so we'll see how that goes and I'll have all of that hopefully done in the first week or two of January.
I've been putting off some projects (like the bookmarks, and the sequence I'm doing with Azzy) for a while, and I want to prioritize those, as well as getting the comics out faster. I'm still learning how to juggle everything, with moderate success, but there's still things that need to be done, that once I get them out of the way, I can put more time towards other more on-going things.
I'm getting close to the end of Chapter 6 of Various Happenings, so once we get that done, I'll probably take a little time to get the buffer for Chapter 7 up and do some preparation ahead of time as well as focus down the bookmarks.
I'm also trying to get all my uploads done, it's just very tedious and catching up from as far behind as I was is quite the challenge. Still, we're getting there! Rather than being as far behind as I was, we're working to stay caught up, which is somewhat of an improvement. Still, as I said, these next few weeks will be spotty as I'm going to be doing holiday things in addition to preparing for the new year, so I apologize. I hope all of you are having a good holiday season, and if not, I hope next year is better. I know I'm looking on next year with trepidation, but we can make good things out of a bad situation. We've done it before.

Hey there, peeps!
Well, last week wasn't as productive as I'd hoped. While I did manage to upload more than I'd hoped as far as my 2024 pieces go, my drawing ground to a halt due to an infection in my throat and I wasn't really able to work on comics at all, which is something I had hoped to do. I apparently had an infection in my lymph node which stiffened my neck up and gave me a headache that basically lasted from Monday to Wednesday. That sickness was probably a factor in me taking a by-week in the first place (along with Dicy being out of town) but it still gets me down a little bit because I really wanted to start getting ahead. Still, there's no point in getting upset about it!
In the meantime, you can check out the schedule on the site!
So no comics this week, sorry about that. I'll try to have something done by the end of the week, like I said, I was just very sick last week, and in addition to having to watch the little one, so I simply didn't have much energy at all in the way of doing artistic work. Most of my accomplishment last week was figuring out the prices for commissions (which I will be working on getting the commission page done and up, so that it's ready for the new year) and uploading art from this year (which I will continue to do since I have a fair few pieces left to go.) However, I'll try and have a Clara comic up by the end of the week, and see if I can't at least get the next few comics blocked out and ready to be worked on.
Either way, I'll continue trucking along! This is the holiday season, which is always kind of rough and it's been rather cold lately (except for today, for some odd reason), so I just have to keep chipping away at things!

I apparently had an infection in my lymph node which stiffened my neck up and gave me a headache that basically lasted from Monday to Wednesday. That sickness was probably a factor in me taking a by-week in the first place (along with Dicy being out of town) but it still gets me down a little bit because I really wanted to start getting ahead. Still, there's no point in getting upset about it!

So no comics this week, sorry about that. I'll try to have something done by the end of the week, like I said, I was just very sick last week, and in addition to having to watch the little one, so I simply didn't have much energy at all in the way of doing artistic work. Most of my accomplishment last week was figuring out the prices for commissions (which I will be working on getting the commission page done and up, so that it's ready for the new year) and uploading art from this year (which I will continue to do since I have a fair few pieces left to go.) However, I'll try and have a Clara comic up by the end of the week, and see if I can't at least get the next few comics blocked out and ready to be worked on.
Either way, I'll continue trucking along! This is the holiday season, which is always kind of rough and it's been rather cold lately (except for today, for some odd reason), so I just have to keep chipping away at things!

Hey there, peeps! It's December now!
The year is winding down and we're heading into an uncertain 2025, but that's not going to stop us from doing what we do! We've got a new Various Happenings update, so go and check that out! This week we're going to be taking a by-week from streaming, because Dicy is going to be out of town for a couple of days this week, and I really want to see if I can catch up on these uploads!
In the meantime, you can check out the schedule on the site!
December will be a pretty sparse month. I'm going to be trying to secure my work mostly; seeing about getting back to working on the bookmarks and making those a reality, trying to get ahead in both comics, and trying to get all of my 2024 work uploaded so that I'm finally caught up and can get to working on the site in earnest. Dicy & Tigre are heading down with their child to family's over Christmas, so I'll be taking it easy that week as well. Most of this month will be positioning myself better to move forward. Working along. I needed to make sure funds were where they needed to be last week, so that cut into working on Various Happenings a bit. Fortunately that worked out, and I'm almost done with the lineart on the current comic, I just didn't have time on my non-stream days to do too much this week, especially with us preparing for Thanksgiving on Thursday and that. Between that and my sleep not being all that great lately, I've been a bit tired in general, but I will have something new up this week!
I've got the remainder of the current Various Happenings chapter to block out (about a half-dozen pages at this point,) and some Clara comics to block out as well, so it'll be a lot of prepping for the next set of things coming up!

I also have a really bad habit of forgetting the form exists, and that's on me, but I'll get it done. Still, I apologize for anyone who's been waiting. If you want, you're welcome to join the SubscribeStar, which gives you automatic access to the Discord (if the bots are working, though I post the join link in there every once in a while) for as little as $1 a month (just the first time, too! You don't get autokicked or anything like that) or you can just ask me directly at Fur Affinity or Inkbunny! I also need to check on the forums as well, since it's been a bit and I want to start adding more stuff there. That's going to be included in the whole website update plan. Hello everyone!
Sorry about the lack of update last week, I was just... extremely checked out and kind of tired overall, to the point I just needed to take some "me-time" for a bit. I'm sure you all understand. But, regardless, we're still rolling on! Things are going well in spite of everything, and the comic work is coming along nicely!
This last week, we had a new Various Happenings update, and today we have a new update for The Adventures of Clara Cosmos, so I hope you all enjoy those! I haven't gotten ahead yet, but I can feel myself getting faster, so hopefully it's only a matter of time before I really begin to hit my stride with it!

There won't be any survey this quarter, simply because I couldn't think of what to ask. Things are pretty cut and dry right now and I don't have any really fun or funny questions to ask currently, so we'll just not do that this time. I haven't really been cataloguing the results since most of them were for my own curiosity, so a gap in the data shouldn't be a big deal if I do it again in the future. I might change my mind next month, but for now, I just don't see a reason to do it.
Also, I have a Bluesky account now, if you all want to follow me over there! ( https://bsky.app/profile/grayscalerain.bsky.social ) I don't like social media, so don't expect a lot of interaction, and frankly, the posting kind of sucks? Like it jpegs the shit out of it, but that's where the people are going, so it's better to have some presence than not! I'm not going to take it too seriously, though. It'll mostly be for promotion.
I'm also probably going to stop posting (or attempting to post) on my DeviantArt and Pillowfort accounts. Both have been broken via PostyBirb for a while now, and while Pillowfort is simply... empty, dA is populated by bots, people bugging me about NFTs and its UI has been a mess since 2019. Those of you who follow me on those sites will have noticed that I haven't posted in a while, and that's generally why. Furthermore, I just want to start condensing my experience, and trying to connect with the people on the sites that I actually frequent and the communities I'm actually involved in. If you follow me on either of those sites, keep a look out on my home site, as well as my other galleries, and my comic pages. I am still active, always, I'm just trying to pear things down to a manageable place. I will not be deleting my content or accounts on those sites, however, so don't worry about that if you want to archive anything from them. You're more than welcome to do so, but it's not going anywhere.
The weather's getting pretty chilly now! It was dark at 4:30 PM yesterday, but I honestly don't mind all that much. My roommates are still trying to get used to it, of course, but we will get acclimatized eventually.

Not a lot to say this week! This year's Halloween streams have been doing really well! They've been restricted to Discord this time due to me wanting to keep the volume down and avoid having a huge tail on the orders, but so far everything has been pretty good! Next year I'll probably restrict it to one or two slots instead of three, just manage the amount, but I'm definitely going to reach my goal this year, so I'm very happy about that. There's just one more stream this week on Monday, and then I'll be happy to call Spoops and More '24 a success!
Unfortunately, however, the effort involved means I haven't really had much stamina for comic work this last week, so I'm only about half way through the current Various Happenings update. I'll do my best to get it taken care of by Friday this week though. Sorry about that, but special events require special considerations! In the meantime, you can also check out the schedule on the site.
So yeah, after Monday we'll be going back to normal operations. There won't be any SotS this week, but that's understandable. We'll just use the Friday stream to get caught up on everything and back to where we need to be. We did have a lot of trick-or-treaters this year (seemingly fifty or so, all told!) which was absolutely lovely, and the little bean got a chance to dress up, too, which was just adorable. You all should have seen the haul she managed!
With the end of the witches' year, and the beginning of the dark months, it's time to bundle up and settle in.
Those of us in the states have a vote to do (and you should do it, if you haven't already. I voted early.) but I'm going to try and not focus on that and just keep my nose to the grindstone for the moment. I've done what I can. Otherwise, it's just preparing for winter and seeing what progress I can make. I've got taxes to save up for, after all.

Hey, peeps, meeps, and beeps! Sorry for the lack of updates last week, I was somewhat ill over the last one and I didn't really have the energy for the weekly update or really anything much at all, which is why there was a lack of streams this week as well. My stomach was doing rather badly, and I think I had skipped one too many meals and gotten rather sick because of it. I'm back on track now, but I simply lacked the energy at the time to do anything but focus on Clara and maybe a couple of other things. I simply wasn't up to the task of doing the updates or streaming, and I apologize for that.
I'm feeling better now, fortunately. And hey, there is an update for The Adventures of Clara Cosmos, so go check that out! In the meantime, you can also check out the schedule on the site.
Updates are slow but steady, and we're getting things checked off here and there. I've got a plan to update the site a little in the future, and the first part of that will be updating my commissions page, so I'll be poking at that over the week hopefully. Everything seems to be working according to plan right now, though, and as time goes on, I would really love to get all my work on-site just in case, so I'll be picking at that now and again as well. I just produce a lot of work every week, so catching up and trying to get all of it posted has always been very difficult, just from a time perspective. Still, a little bit here and there and I'll manage to do it all eventually. I hope.
So far I've been able to do one comic a week for this last month, and I'm very happy with myself on that. I have no doubt I'll miss a week now and again in the future, but my hope is that if I manage a few low-effort weeks here and there, the occasional faster pages will allow me to get ahead and finally achieve that buffer I so desire. I really want to make my headway, so my ultimate goal is being able to make time for myself to get ahead as well, as be able to work on other things, too!
We'll see what happens, but things are going good! This next week is my Spoops and More '24 streams, so I'll be doing sketches for Halloween as I'm wont to do. It's currently only open to Discord members, but maybe next year things will be a little more public; I just don't want to get swamped again and be making these things up until February!
Still, everything's going alright! I'm on the mend and I hope you're all doing wonderfully as we head through the spooky season into the tail end of fall!

Weekly Update! (2024-10-06) Putting on the Breaks

Hello, peeps! Everything is working out pretty well so far, I'm happy to say, but I'm definitely feeling the lag of my breakneck schedule catching up to me. I've currently got almost two weeks worth of overtime stacked up (for the unaware, I keep a tracker of when I'm working on something artistic or related to my job, so any work that I do that goes over 40 hours a week goes into the overtime bank so that if I do less than 40 hours a week, it offsets that. But I haven't worked less than 40 hours in a week on art, projects, uploads, or updates in a while,) so I'm going to try and chill out on things just a little bit, and only try to do the things that I need to do in order to meet my goal. That means not getting sidetracked by a bunch of other stuff.
Right now I'm kind of just waiting for the gears to lock into place. We're there, we just need to gain purchase and get to saving up money and stabilizing things. If I had managed to finish any earlier in the year, it would have been a lot easier, but leave it to me to exhaust a deadline absolutely and completely! Still! That's where we are, which is a better situation than it had been.

Still, we're going to keep at it and next week is going to focus more solidly on the comic, as well as uploading past pieces. With Sketch on the Spot, I should be able to cover what I need to by around the 20th of October, which I'm planning to take as a by-week. We'll see what happens, of course, plans are always libel to be shifted around, but things are looking steady, which is very good!
After a small hot spell, fall weather is starting to come back and hopefully it sticks around this time! It's nice having the windows open, though!

Hello, peeps! Everything is working out pretty well so far, I'm happy to say, but I'm definitely feeling the lag of my breakneck schedule catching up to me. I've currently got almost two weeks worth of overtime stacked up (for the unaware, I keep a tracker of when I'm working on something artistic or related to my job, so any work that I do that goes over 40 hours a week goes into the overtime bank so that if I do less than 40 hours a week, it offsets that. But I haven't worked less than 40 hours in a week on art, projects, uploads, or updates in a while,) so I'm going to try and chill out on things just a little bit, and only try to do the things that I need to do in order to meet my goal. That means not getting sidetracked by a bunch of other stuff.
Right now I'm kind of just waiting for the gears to lock into place. We're there, we just need to gain purchase and get to saving up money and stabilizing things. If I had managed to finish any earlier in the year, it would have been a lot easier, but leave it to me to exhaust a deadline absolutely and completely! Still! That's where we are, which is a better situation than it had been.

Weekly Update! (2024-09-29) Downhill Skiing

Alright! Well, now that things are clear, I've got a lot more control and it's smooth sailing from here we can hope. From now on, I'm going to do my best not to let things pile up again, and we're going to take everything in little chunks, one week at a time. From here on out, we're not rushing to catch up, after all, we're guiding where this goes!
So what's going on? You can check the schedule on-site to figure it out!
My vacation's done, more or less. To be fair, it wasn't much of one and I could have probably relaxed a bit more, but without all the weight on my shoulders I was very eager to just... do whatever. It was very fun at least and I did enjoy myself, though with the sixty-six hours of overtime I've accrued since my last bout of sickness, I should probably take it a little easy now and again.
Still, the plan is mostly the same as I remarked last week, with one or two changes.
Repeating last week a bit, during non-SotS streams, we'll open with a short draw for myself, and then we'll be doing Sketch on the Spot clean-ups. I'm going to be gathering up a list of items from between the streams for Scream Stream '23 (2023-10-31) and last week's stream (2023-09-20). I'll be running them just like Sketch on the Spot, with a rotating list and I'll be prorating each piece based on how much work it takes to wrap them up (the maximum charge being $40 USD for pure black and white sketch lines to a finished colored sketch.) I will try and do three a stream, if people are there to see it (or if I'm given the go ahead to do them in advance,) and then I'll move on to the next thing.
After that, during the streams, we'll be either working on the bookmarks, or working on either Various Happenings or The Adventures of Clara Cosmos. Usually a few hours on each if I can get away with it. We'll be posting whenever we have something, and the goal is one comic a week alternating between the two, until I build up enough of a buffer to run them each once a week.
Friday streams will be Sketch on the Spot as usual, but they will not add to the clean-up. A separate clean-up period for those will occur at a later date.
Once I've cleaned out the SotS Clean-Up list, I will begin working on my commission page again. I have decided to change my plans, and move the specials to the Discount Bin, instead running my standards as a list based thing much like Sketch on the Spot. Basically how that will work, is I will decide on a stream day if I want to take a commission or two and check the list based on who is ready. Then ask them what they want and we'll go from there with regular ala carte pricing. My hope is that taking them one at a time and working on them then and there will end up with me not building up a huge backlog of stuff, and will allow me to keep things fresh and gauge how I'm feeling so that I can pull back if I'm getting too burnt out or take on more if my energy is high or I need the cash.
I hope this, along with SotS and my Subscribestar (along with the future prospect of the bookmarks and other merchandise) will keep income going so that I can meet my obligations without stressing my ass out. I'm still going to be a bit pickier, but hopefully this will keep things from getting overwhelming.

The current one is finishing up the collaboration between myself and Azure, and then once that's completed, I'll be having a vote in my VIP channel on my Discord for what the next project should be. Weekly Update! (2024-09-22) The Summit

It is done! My final commission is out the door and the list is clear. Thank you to everyone for your patience and support over this last year. Without it, I would have been at a loss and probably collapsed under the weight of my own expectations. But we did it. It took the whole year, but we're finally here and I'm glad to be out from under it.
So where do we go from here?
Well. Let's check out the schedule. (You can click the link for the site above to have a look.)
First thing's first, I'm going to take a vacation. It's just going to be a small one for a week, but I need some time to do... nothing for a bit. I'll save the remainder of my vacation days for one in the middle of the fourth quarter so I can have a more planned out vacation later this year.
Next, I'm going to be moving on to the more important projects, namely the comics. That will involve how I stream from here on out.
First, during non-SotS streams, we'll open with a short draw for myself, and then we'll be doing Sketch on the Spot clean-ups. I'm going to open up an order form, and take submissions for any SotS stuff done between Scream Stream '23 (2023-10-31) and this week's stream (2023-09-20). I'll be running them just like Sketch on the Spot, with a rotating list and while I was going to charge $40 each clean-up, some of them require less cleaning up than others, so I will have to prorate them individually (just go in knowing that $40 will be the maximum charge.) I will do three a stream, if people are there to see it (or if I'm given the go ahead to do them in advance) and then I'll move on to the next thing.
After that, during a stream, we'll be doing either working on the bookmarks, or working on either Various Happenings or The Adventures of Clara Cosmos. Usually a few hours on each if I can get away with it. I want to get my buffers up, as you can see in the table on the site, and I want to get back to posting regularly. I'll start posting comics again on the first week I pass the buffer for both comics.

I do try and update FurAffinity and Inkbunny as regularly as I can, and Newgrounds, Eka's, and Itaku are pretty easy for me to deal with, too.
I also post to Mastodon (on Aethy) and Pillowfort, but I don't really get a lot of interaction on those (props to the people who like all my stuff on there, though, I see you. You're awesome.) I don't really do social media that much, though, and I gave up Twitter over two years ago and I'm just not interested in getting a BlueSky account.
And of course, there's the SubscribeStar, if you're interested in supporting our endeavors here.
So I'm going to be trying to get everything of mine on the site and kind of make it my home on the net for the foreseeable future. I'm getting old, and I just kind of want to settle down, internet-wise. If something new and shiny comes along that's appealing to me, I might make an account, but I'm not going to try and be complete for anything on other sites as far as uploads go. Fox Saliant will be where everything's at, at least unless something happens to mess with that, so, that's how things are going to be going forward. I just have a lot of catching up to do on my uploads and spiffying up this place, but we'll get it done.
