Ok, so forgive me on this

There’s a few features on this site that I never clicked on. I didn’t know what they did, so I was weird about clicking them. So while updating my social media links (still can’t get the Twitter one to work) I clicked on a few.

Ok, I seriously did not know “notes” was a message thing…. I honestly don’t know what I thought it was.

So a few people had reached out, and of course I never responded. I’m mortified, and now it makes a whole lot of sense why some behaviors towards me had gotten a little cold…..

So huge apologies to anyone that I may have insulted by not responding….it’s a dick move.

So I’ve been drawing every day since I got sober, probably 4 years now. Lately I’ve been feeling uncreative, and a little burnt out. While I don’t want to stop drawing, I am going just doodle for a while instead of going for full finishes.

So pride was here , and I usually get really overwhelmed by the influx of people in my hood. So I do have some art to finish, but The motivation wasn’t there. I’m getting back into the grove. Maintaining my sobriety is my top priority, so retreating is the best option for me at the time. New stuff soon.

So, I have a folder full of stuff that isn't finished. Sometimes I get stuck, or loose motivation. Worse sometimes my mental state takes a dive, and what ever I am on at the time gets lost in the fog.. Ideas that where and still are going in story ideas. So if it seams like I am pumping out art...I'm not, I'm just finishing stuff and clearing my brain.

One Idea is for the Perverse, a town in Maine called Innsmouth cove, in Havencourt county. Where gods and devils held negotiations before humanity existed. Blessed with a non violence curse, the Eldritch, the Cryptid, the Mythological, and the Strange all walk among men....searching for love and lusting for flesh.

So I got my second shot Thursday....and promptly got sick, but feeling better. I ended up with a fever, which made me have some fever dreams. I wrote some of them down.

One particular dream I thought was so funny, I’m definitely going to draw it. It went like this

I had moved out to a country area, I’m talking woods and dirt roads and stuff. The town near I moved had a cafe/ market thing. I’m sitting at the counter and the waitress asked how I liked living there. I had said something to the effect of “ I love it out here, but this will sound insane some idiot it dressed as a werewolf screwing around in the woods near my house.”
Was he wearing a John Deere cap?” The guy next to me asked.
I said yeah
“that’s Bob, I think he goes by Skeeter though. There’s about 5 or 6 werewolves around here, there just harmless rednecks.”
I was shocked and said so that wasn’t a costume,!?!
“Sorry hunny, you’re not crazy, those are real . Want me to top off that coffee “
Dale the guy next to me said “don’t worry, like I said they’re harmless”
“ harmless nothing Dale, last full moon one went thru my trash, and another crapped on my front porch. Took all day to clean up the mess” the waitress said.
“Well they do get drunk every thirty days ,and jerk off to the moon. But shake a can full of pennies and they will scatter.”

So I’m looking over my gallery, and I’m seeing some progress, Gavel, is a huge evolution from Astro cat 10 years ago. I still can learn a lot, and my confidence is still a thing. Baby steps I guess.

So, I’ve been sober two years now...wow that’s so weird to say.
I just kinda noticed , that in the last few months I haven’t played any games. That all of my screen time has been either drawing or writing. Like this is my zen, I don’t need/want to escape reality, I want to create my own. Sounds weird I know. Drawing is my thing now, and I have also started to write again....so maybe some comix incoming...when the confidence is there.

2 days ago I came up with a name for the world the NSFW stuff is in ....this name may not be original, but what the hell...... I call it the Perv-verse. So all my drawings in some way connect in a world where monsters and men swap loads.

Ok, I normally don’t journal, and I don’t even think anyone would read this anyhow. So I’m working on stuff, and haven’t posted anything yet. I’m learning Blender (it’s free don’t knock it) , and still learning all the ins and outs of clip studio (which I love, I’m posting a rhino skin brush soon). Since I usually over use a new toy when I find one I’m hesitant to post because I simply don’t want it to be a “oh look he found the _blank_ tool”.

So I’m back to making art after a long long hiatus. Life takes you to some strange places....and not all of them are good.

Ok, so soon after my submission of Astro cat...disaster struck. Some how I got a virus on my desktop, it hid itself as a "demo" for an anti virus program...it basically stated that my computer was infected and I had to buy their program to get rid of them. This "demo" wouldn't let me remove it or let me run my own scan to remove the "infected files". In short, I had to reinstall my OS, then the desktop failed all together. I did however back up everything, I just needed a computer.

So I put myself a new box together, and got all my stuff installed. I'm back on track and life is good.
