PROWLER v0.110 - VA update + Polls!
Posted a year agoHey all! Cleaning up the dust around these parts once again....
Thank you so much to everyone who's played Prowler over the last week! We've been blown away by the awesome response to the game, and your patience as we worked through the release bugs.
Today we have what we hope will be the last needed patch for Prowler Act 1 (v0.110) including bugfixes, gameplay tweaks, UX upgrades and Kivuli's new voice lines, courtesy of VoidSlutVA, as well as a few audience polls if you'd like to participate!

On top of this, we've created a series of polls for enemies, NPCs and playtime. These metrics do help us in our development and it'd be greatly appreciated if you were able to fill those out!

Update on things + Prowler!
Posted 2 years agoHello all! It's been a while, apologies for the silence! Since the release of the Prowler Demo last August we've both been very busy with life, head-down in studies for the bulk of Aug - Nov, oversees trips in Dec - Jan and more.
But now it's finally time for an update on our plans. We've decided that our plan moving forward will be as follows:
1. Finish a proper build of PROWLER and release it
2. Return to GROVE to complete Dark Places Pt. 2
3. See where the wind takes us from there...
We've posted some previews over on our Twitter account (@RegalBuster) as well. Hope you find it all interesting and exciting!

As for some Prowler-related details:
Behind the scenes we've been doing some improvements to systems based on feedback, including but not limited to:
- Crafting inventory improvements
- Key rebinding
- Shifting the game towards lewder forms of combat, allowing more cheek outside of 'capture' and defeat scenes.
As for content density, we're aiming for:
- 5 enemies total (incl. the 2 demo enemies), each with at least two full fledged capture scenes
- 2 fleshed out locales to explore with unique map nodes and things to discover
- More equipment to wear, and traps to avoid (or not...)
- NPCs to meet, and the first few chapters of Prowler's story to enjoy (NPC previews on our Twitter)!

GROVE 0.12 Release date.
Posted 4 years agoI've set the release date for Grove VER 0.12 to 28/07/21. If you haven't seen it already, I've chucked several small snippets of content on my Twitter should you be interested in such.
OLD 0.11 SAVES WILL NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH THE NEW 0.12 SAVES!
A general list of additions are as follows:
New areas
New scenes
New grapple based combat mode
Several 'status counters' that may determine future events.
A few new enemies.
Introduction of trap functionality.
New accessory equipment type.
Bunch of auditory additions
And more!
I still consider this to be a 'minor' patch as much of the work has been spent fleshing out the foundations so that future content won't require another save wipe. This update does NOT contain the future North and South zones as that will come in 0.2 .
Hope the update will be worth the wait! Can't wait to get this out to all of you :)

Good news: Progress on the minor 0.12 patch is going swimmingly! I expect a release within 2 or so weeks, but no promises of course. Progress is about 80%, and I'm much more confident on this number as the technical aspects have mostly been ironed out.
Bad news: I cut my pinkie cleaning my keyboard.

Aside from that I wanted to do another poll for metrics, this time on game completion time. The end is when you complete the bandit hideout and give the blacksmith the titanium ingot.
This will primarily be used to balance content development, making sure that there is an even distribution between the tiny details and the actual bulk of the content.
An estimate is completely fine! If you are unsure, you could possibly refer to your save file. Keep in mind that this does track all idle periods and post game shenanigans, so be sure to cut that out if possible.
