Recovering
Posted 14 years agoRecovering from a really heavy two weeks. First we had to have our husky put down (he was really old and it needed to be done) and then we were busy moving for more than a week (took a bit longer than planned).
Now I'm finally getting better and finally feel like talking to people again...

Playing with my new camera!
Posted 14 years agoUp until last weekend we always rented our cameras. This is a LOT cheaper than actually buying one when you're doing everything yourself. And with "everything" I mean stuff like the planning, scripting, setting it up, shooting, sound AND doing all the post-processing like montage, color grading, publishing, etc...
When you are doing all that stuff you'll find that you won't use your camera for more than just a couple of days a month, which isn't enough to recover the cost of a professional camera. That's when "renting" is the cheaper option.
With prices coming down, however, you can now buy a broadcast-grade camera for a ridiculously low price. And that's exactly what we decided to do last weekend!
Stay tuned for cool stuff when we have finished learning how to use it.

INCOMING!
Posted 14 years agoIt seems a pair of gerbils have gotten the idea in their head that "staying at Guenwhyvar's" is a good idea. They have packed their bags, jumped on a train and are expected to arrive here somewhere tomorrow-afternoon.
I'm still getting their room fixed up, but I guess 2700cm2 should be quite sufficient for them.
Shall I put up some pictures of their room before they arrive or after?

Cool!
Posted 15 years agoI've been asked to give a course on High-Definition Filming at one of the biggest camera-companies in The Netherlands. Another boost for my oversized ego. :P
I love my job!
Posted 15 years agoA new week hast started and I'm sitting at my desk thinking of the things I need to do and the things I did in the last 7 days...
Basically, the last week consisted of sending out packages of sex-toys to all kinds of customers Worldwide, doing a photoshoot with 4 models in all kinds of fetish-gear having sex (most of the time) and distributing flyers for a fetish-party that we're organising on February 5th in Amsterdam.

To make the week complete one of my BF's came over this weekend to make love to me (and vice-versa) and watch anime (and BR2).
Looking back, I'd say I had a great week!
...so what was your week like?

Dead?
Posted 15 years agoHow's FA coming along? Did everyone stop posting this week or is it just my watchlist?
On to Newyearseve!
Posted 15 years agoI hope you had a great Christmas and looking forward to more parties on Newyearseve!
Just a couple more days hard work and the end of 2010 is upon us. Let's hope FA will become a great place to be again.

Jealousy
Posted 15 years agoWikipedia tells us the following: "Jealousy is an emotion and typically refers to the negative thoughts and feelings of insecurity, fear, and anxiety over an anticipated loss of something that the person values, such as a relationship, friendship, or love. Jealousy often consists of a combination of emotions such as anger, sadness, and disgust."
Two Dutch Furries are targeting me out of jealousy. Both say I am to blame for their "objects of desire" not to choose for them, but for me.

Learning can be a lot of fun!
Posted 15 years agoI spend the last few days on a friend's project. A challenging plan he had that needed a lot of research, planning, measuring, making, doing, buying stuff, measuring again, etc...
Today we put a lot of the components together and....WOW!
Version 0.4 alpha (or is it beta?) looked fantastic!

ToS-troubles
Posted 15 years agoOver the past months followers of the ultra-right wing conservative Boston Tea Party have infiltrated the management of Fur Affinity. Not satisfied with the speed at which US lawmakers implement conservative moral laws, they have succeeded in destroying FA from within by putting extreme limits on the creative freedom artists have.
Anything vaguely erotic has now been banned from FA. Art has been limited to a level not seen since the Stalin-era (or since Medieval times actually). It seems we are at the beginning of a new "Dark Ages" in Art, starting with the demise of sites like Fur Affinity.
So sad...

The definition of a "photographer"
Posted 15 years agoBrowsing through my collection of photographs it occurred to me that the actual definition of "photographer" might very well be "a person having hundreds of pictures of his friends having fun, but very few of himself".
True love is helping him be a happier person.
Posted 15 years agoI'm so terribly in love at the moment. This guy is so perfect, so sweet, so kawaii, so intelligent, so creative...and on-and-on goes te list. You know the feeling of being "in love" so I'm trying to keep this as brief as possible.
But, well...I know already that I will be there for him for ever and ever, but recognize that he might not want me for that long.
I'll love him and be with him for as long as he wants me, support him when he finds love with another and will be available for him if that relationship ever comes to an end - again and again if needs be...ad nauseum. Whatever makes him feel happy is what I am here for.

I'm not good at keeping journals
Posted 15 years agoSometimes I feel like writing a whole bunch of stuff and sometimes I don't do anything for many months here. I have this ambivalent attitude towards the furry-community so it is hard for me to keep this up.
Let's start by saying I'm a hard-core furry. Having been raised by a black cat from when I was 5 'till she died when I was 17 I think of myself as a panther. A lot of my character and moods I have from her.
Most "furries" see this as a way to...well...whatever... - that's the ambivalence out of the way.
My cat-mother taught me to care for others and that is what I do.
