One thing that I want to mention: I will no longer be posting Adult artwork anywhere except Patreon. Why? Because not everyone wants to see it, and it's not exactly the work I'm most proud of, lol.
I feel like putting it exclusively on Patreon will make it available to those who want to see it as well as keep my galleries elsewhere clean for those who don't.
Those who commission me for adult pieces will of course still get their copy of the image along with permission to post to their galleries if they desire to do so.

Just a placeholder for now, I'm still developing information and concepts for this species. This will be updated when the species becomes more official.}

C U L T U R E /

Akari reside in a realm called Zoritu. It's an alternate universe, parallel with our own but we cannot see it. Akari are peacekeepers of all existing realms, preventing conflict between them and keeping them from interfering with each other. Akari are a nonviolent species, and they do not eat. They get their life source and energy from the many precious metals, gems and jewels in their realm, the reason why they wear many pieces of jewelry. Akari live in groups called clans, each clan responsible for a certain realm. In history, people may have caught glimpses of Akari appearing in our universe to keep other beings out of our realm. Because of this, Akari have been called Gods by ancient civilizations and appeared in many legends in human history. Akari are hatched from large gemstones and they live to around 150 years.

Saiku Akari appear in feral form. They are one of the two Akari races that inhabit the realm of Zoritu. Saiku Akari reside in the western half of the realm. They are more animalistic in nature, and live in dens and caves.

Deku Akari appear in anthro form. They are the second race of Zoritu, and inhabit the eastern half of the realm. Deku Akari are more civilized and live in villages nestled in the flatlands.

Legendary Akari: Legendary traits are only found in the Gods of the realm. These traits are only inherited through blood royalty. Legendary Akari have the ability to shapeshift between both their feral form and anthro form. They are larger than standard Akari and often have gemstones fused to their bodies in various places.

Corrupt Akari: Akari that are cast out of the society, who live on the outskirts of the realm. They have been banished for practicing ways of violence, attempting to assassinate the Gods, and for causing wars between realms, among other things. They will have broken / no jewelry & gems, and a large scar somewhere on their body inflicted by a God which marks the Akari as banished.

A P P E A R A N C E /

Saiku Akari are about the size of a fullgrown horse. Deku Akari are about 8ft tall, fullgrown.

Feathers can be anywhere on the body, but they are uncommon on the face. Facial feathers make the Akari more rare.

Tails are long and have a tuft of fur at the end. Legendary males have a metal spike spiral around their tail because they are more assertive. Females have a winding branch because they are more in tune with nature.

Akari always have at least two horns protruding from their cheeks. They can vary in size and appearance, some variations being rarer than others.

Males are larger and have longer manes. Females are more slender with shorter manes.
