Brainstorm: Rimpala Universe
Posted 9 years agoFor a long time I've been wanting to revise the Rimpala account but wanted to do something interesting with it to compete with the fetish edge this account has, been also been thinking about what to do with my Rimpala character who's changed over time from an Egyptian demigod to sort of this kitschy Mad Men look-a-like. There's also been a toying around with Rimpala as a victorian gentlemen and a medieval druid.
Since I couldn't make of my mind in this department I've came up with the idea that "Rimpala" is either the same guy throughout different eras in time, or a surname that belongs to a whole lineage of individuals. This in turn had me thinking up a universe he can live in that can share spaces with other characters I've created and maybe even those of some close furs I know.
The "universe" would be much like Earth except furry, and dealing with dragons, herms, and various phenomena related to the more fantasy-like aspects of the fandom. The latter is covered by two vast organizations the Rimpala name has long been associated with that are behind many events in the universe.
The first is a guild that I've yet to come up with a name for that was founded in medieval Europe and basically collects and studies anything extraordinary or magical. In fact it can even be called just "The Guild" maybe. The nature of the organization means that it's a weirdness magnet that constantly gets itself in trouble. Its tendency to blow up whatever location it's set in usually means having to move from town to town until finally being banished to the colonial United States, where it stays largely underground into the present day.
In the 1800's Rimpala Industries was founded by one of these members, who secretly funds the organization while increasing its own influence and power. In the Victorian era it reaches a monopoly status, founding factory towns that enjoy the comforts of advanced technology but at the price of dealing with many of the shenanigans of The Guild in Europe. Its influence dissolved somewhat in the 20th century, and by mid-century generally only one of these towns is left, whose factory is completely involved in mad science but is generally tolerated by the locals for keeping things from becoming too dull.
Nothing is set in stone yet but I just thought of the idea as basis to include other backstories, or maybe future comic ideas. *shrug* The idea is basically to be a source of plot fuel for a whole host of other things. The Guild is something that was thought up thinking about my Elysium Gate comic, and is admittedly kind of SCP inspired, though less MIB-like and more like some weird Illuminati cabal-thing... except kind of a deconstruction of such in that they are abysmally terrible of keeping themselves secret and keeping their stuff contained. Rimpala Industries was born out of Second Life and is kind what I've called my little workshops, my time building furry avatars and other objects made me think of Rimp Ind. as some crazy Dexter's Laboratory scenario.

Changes to Comic and Character Sheet Commissions
Posted 9 years agoBecause I was told the pricing was too low, and that it needs to compete better with the single image commissions comics have gone up in price a little: $50 for the commission plus $10 per additional page mainly.
I can give some leeway to single page comics within reason, pages with up to 3 panels can still be treated as a single image and can be priced as such.
I do want to encourage single images because they are far less time consuming to finish then the comics, and the extra time I can even devote to detail and making the images the best quality I can offer.
Character Sheets are still the same price but I want to establish what they include:
The character in t-pose, front back and side views
The character's head in front, side, at 45 degrees, and back if needed
Up to 2 drawings showing details like the character's genitals
Up to 2 action poses
Character's written profile and brief backstory, preferably up to 2 paragraphs
Additions may be subject to additions to the price.

I think I've done this before, the "criminal" percentage is mostly because I'm kind attracted to rogue-ish people in general.
I don't think being sexually attracted to something should be considered illegal or criminal in of itself because it opens some uncomfortable doors to punishing people for thoughtcrime. Note I'm simply talking about the attraction itself not any action that would bring harm to a victim. I digress...

After looking over the prices of other commissioners I've noticed that my own were low... like Walmart low. So I increased them a little bit so I'm not undercutting quite so much.
As I said this does not affect current commissions or even commissioners I've contacted recently. In particular I really needed to increase the price for character sheets. This is no fault of any of the commissioners, it's just the nature of the beast: when I do character sheets I'm basically having to learn how to perfectly draw a character that likely nobody else has drawn before! Shit isn't easy... Plus as you've seen so far my character sheets are meant to be fully involved, showing every nook and cranny of the character so as to give future artists the aid they need. Their designs are based on character sheets used for professional animators and game developers.

Brainstorm: Card Game
Posted 10 years agoI've been toying around with some just-for-fun game design ideas over the last few months with friends, mostly because I really need to get back into it.
I was introduced to Magic recently and been inspired to start making a furry card game after learning how some of the mechanics of it work, most of the work would be making artwork which I know how to do of course, and with enough cards made I can even throw into a simple flash game just to teach myself more Actionscript...
The cards will be centered on the furry fandom, can include artwork done of other furries. The cards themselves or any planned game won't be sold for any profit, but I might commission out artwork for them in the future. Also, since the game will be considered inside the fandom adult stuff can be present in them, so the game can either be considered "adult" or at least have "adult" cards present.
Also: No I don't intend to reinvent the wheel, I know other furry card series exist I'm just thinking about starting my own series that's all.
So far all I have developed on it is the cards will be divided into 4 different suits that will be broad flavors the furry fandom can be taken in, or at least theme's I know I've seen furry in from time to time. Many are mixed up and combined of course, to allow a lot of leeway for adding content:
Cyperpunk City: The Sci fi theme, will also include anime tropes and sub-themes.
Fae Forest: The high-fantasy theme, has a sub-theme of being very nature-y, elvish and druidic.
Dark Dungeon: The dark and edgy theme, has sub-themes of being both demonic and bdsm-inspired, also everything is "metal".

Posted 10 years agoThis is starting to be a common thing asked of me so to save some time I've decided to make a journal about it.
Basically "Why do you like scat? Why do you like Piss? Why do you like Farts?" And so forth...
The shortest answer I have is "I don't know!" and the various ways it's appealing is different for each individual that's into the fetishes. It goes without saying too that kinks look damn ridiculous to whoever isn't into them, and no it doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to turn someone on.
To me personally I find confidence kind of sexy, particularly the kind that rebels against what is socially the norm. In most societies for example, we are supposed to be ashamed of certain "private" things that make us human. Things like what we look like naked, the act of having sex at all, and of course certain excretory functions that we're talking about now. Also to me such functions seem to show off the body parts that make them, the same body parts that happen to be used during sex. The kinks are all natural and free, everyone does them, so they're a sexual fetish that is available to everybody. To me watersports and farts in particular are like some playful sex toy, some harmless things everyone is familiar with that can be very warm and intimate. Finally, there might be deeper, more Freudian reasons I have the kinks I do, but I'm not a psychologist so forgive me if I don't diagnose myself too much...
Keep in mind too, that all of what I draw is not real. Fantasy and art are completely safe environments where these fetishes can be explored. Sometimes people get so offended by them, and it doesn't make a lot of sense because at the end of the day they are literally harming nobody. And oh sure, you need "brain bleach" after looking at this stuff. To that I say, stop being a wuss. Seeing kinky furry porn never killed anybody and as far as I know it has never traumatized anyone, we all know you're just drawing attention to yourself and trolling the site picking on fetishes you either don't like or like but aren't man enough or woman enough to face up to. If seeing something on here that you're not into is that debilitating then maybe this site isn't for you. And since you are looking at porn, browsing a site with the adult rating turned on, I'm going to assume you are an adult. You get no sympathy from me, just shut up, and go away.
That is real funny too, because "oh it's so gross" for the longest time, since ancient times even, has justified the very real persecution and marginalization of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals, and all other members of the LBGT community. Am I right? That person over there has sex with the wrong people, so it is wrong, right? "It's just not natural!" "It's just not right!"

The last one is great, the end all of it's logic seems to be that "homosexuality is gross" and features someone with a stomach so weak that they apparently throw up at the thought of two guys kissing.
But here's a thought: sex is gross ok. Even straight, vanilla sex can be made out to be pretty gross! Right? You're exchanging strange fluids with each other and sticking weird body parts into each other. Penis and vaginas are just wrong looking! Geiger designed aliens around them for crying out loud! Men have this drooling fleshy snake thing growing out of their crotch and women have this fishy smelling hole that bleeds! And don't get me started on childbirth... it's supposed to be all beautiful and perfect like in the movies but it's not it's SO NOT!
But hey, we're all adults we know is all gross but we enjoy it anyways because why not? As long as you stay healthy you don't have anything to worry about, and all that gross biological stuff is what life is made out of. It is made out of semen, vaginal fluid, and sometimes shit and sometimes piss. It's a gooey, watery, visceral mess. Whatever people are into, it's not hurting you, it's not hurting me. I'm not alone in what I like personally because I make money drawing the stuff for people. Welcome. :p

Streaming Proposal
Posted 10 years agoJust started an account on furstream today so I might start opening sessions after me and friend figure out some recording setups (ideally I'd like to be able to play sounds from the computer and from my headset mic)
Obviously I can stream commission drawings, but I can also stream open drawing sessons to draw guests, most likely for free at first till I get used to the site's features.
I may also stream gaming if anyone's interested, PC games I have in mind include:

4 Most Helpful People in Tech-Support Forums
Posted 11 years agoI guess I sort of gotten reminded of this from the last journal post, in sort of that going online to do mundane things and filtering out the stuff that works from the stuff that doesn't. I don't know if there's ever been a guide somewhere about tech-help forums but weather it's looking up information on programming or figuring out why your computer is acting funny... and it's just an observation, but almost every forum you can expect the following:
1. "Go Download This!" Bot: Alright, I can understand that some things take an external program of some kind, but I can't count how many times something was solved using what was already available on your computer, and yet every forum has at least one person or bot pushing software that would likely just infect your computer with bloatware and cause you even more problems! Yes, I'm on to you!
2. "OMG I Am Having the Same Problem I Hope This Gets Solved Soon!" Guy: Let's just say it just gets really depressing when this is the only response...
3. "Google it" Guy: Hey, genius, I'm already Googling it!
4. "The Problem is You're Using [Brand]": Sometimes useful if it doesn't take time or money to acquire, otherwise it's needless to say, but people come for help because they have a problem, not a disposable income...
