Minecraft Skins!
Posted 6 years agoI've decided to open ten slots for Minecraft skins, such as the one seen here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/34914682/
After weighing how long they take to make etc, I've set the price at $40 per skin. Payment needs to be through PayPal. As soon as I have refs and the payment goes through I can get started. I'll send you a WIP when I feel like I'm fairly well along for some feedback.
Feel free to comment below or drop me a note to claim a spot (I'll also be using this spot to keep track of requests I get from Twitter, Telegram, etc.)

Minecraft Skins?
Posted 6 years agoI recently debuted my voxel/pixel partial at the local furmeet and it went over really well! Unexpectedly, it's led to me working on a Minecraft skin for someone. If it works out ends up something I'd be cool with doing regularly, is that something any of you guys would be interested in?

Posted 6 years ago2019 was...eventful for me, for better and for worse. Overall though, I’m grateful for all of the amazing people in my life and for their support through the ups and downs. I wish you all a great 2020 and beyond!
Transitions
Posted 6 years agoThe last several days have been kind of rough. Things might get worse before they get better, but I’m trying to remember that things won’t always be like this. It’s not always easy, but I find it comforting.
I’m also trying to see the shakeup in my job situation as an opportunity. While I’m job searching, I’m looking for something that will leave me free enough to focus a lot more on commissions and develop the business side of Handlebar Sprites. The dream is to one day be able to actually live off of art, but that’s still a ways away.
Whatever’s next, the transition is gonna be hard, but helps that I have some really awesome people standing by me.

The post-con blues are pretty bad though, especially since it looks like my day job situation is about to get shaken up. The good news is I’ll have more time to draw, so if you’ve ever considered buying a commission now would be a great time 👍

Posted 6 years agoI'm super excited for Midwest FurFest! It's gonna be a blast! I'll be walking around in my voxel deer head (pictures to come) so feel free to say hi :)
On another note, I have one big commission that I'm wrapping up and then my queue is completely free. Pixel animations make a great gift and I'd sure appreciate the extra cash for the convention lol

What I've been up to
Posted 6 years agoHiya everyone, sorry for going radio silent there for a minute. My dad ended up in the hospital for a while and so the family went into emergency mode. He's doing a lot better and should finally be coming home this week, so things are slowly returning to normal.

Getting Caught Up and Moving Forward
Posted 6 years agoThings are coming along pretty well and I feel like I should be caught up fairly soon. I really appreciate everyone's patience.
Going forward I'm trying to assess my process, find spots where it can be streamlined, and suss out anything that could use improvement. But to do that, I need data. To that end, once I've caught up I'll be reopening a few slot of each of my old YCH's. So if you wanted to grab one but didn't get a chance, keep an eye out!

Ups and Downs
Posted 6 years agoThings have been a little complicated lately. Good stuff, bad stuff, and stuff in between. I have a request for the last slot of the Running YCH, and after that I think I'm gonna close commissions and focus on my current projects until I get a handle on things.
Bad stuff: the day job has been super overwhelming lately. It feels like trying to dig yourself out from under a pile while people keep dumping more stuff on top.
Good stuff: I got me a boyfriend! It's been really great, but I've been struggling with balancing art and the overwhelming day job and the relationship. He's very supportive though and is gonna try and is gonna start helping me keep on track.
Stuff in between: I took on a few projects that were more complicated than I originally thought. Not that I'm complaining about the projects at all. Challenges are how we grow and learn, and I enjoy expanding my skill set. I'm just frustrated with myself because I wish growth and learning didn't take quite so long :/
So yeah, with the last Running Ych claimed, new commissions are closed for the moment. They should be back open pretty soon, alongside my long-promised new YCH, but for now I wanna focus what free time I have on the work that I've got.

Checking in, Physical Goods, and Stuff I’ve Commissioned

You may also noticed I’ve been looking into actual physical products I might be able to sell. The 3D printed models is a fun idea but it would take a lot of investment to get it off the ground o.0 I’m also looking into perler beads and I’ll post what I come up with as soon as they’re ready.
Also also, here and there when I’ve had money I’ve gotten some Commissions of my deer. I can’t decide if I wanna post them of if I should keep this page strictly for my own stuff. Any thoughts?

400 Watches! ....and Bronchitis

On a less fun note I’ve got bronchitis, which is kind of wreaking havoc on some things in my life which is in turn slowing down my projects a bit. I’m still plugging away at them though and should have more for you all very soon!

Social Media, Patreon, and Projects

I’ve set myself up an Instagram (@handlebarsprites) and a Twitter (@hbsprites). They’re not quite active yet, but I should have them up and running soon. I’ve decided I need to get better at the social medias.
I’m also gonna try out doing Patreon. If you guys have anything you’d like to see as rewards let me know, I’m open to ideas.
Last but not least, some project updates. My next YCH should be ready soon. Also, I decided that, while I designed it with SFW-ness in mind, if people would like to buy NSFW versions of my Animarex Running YCH, I don’t think that would be a problem.

Post-MFF and Upcoming Projects
Posted 7 years agoI had an absolute blast at MFF! I hung out with friends I haven’t seen in too long, met some great new people, and had an all around good time. Can’t wait for next year :)
One thing that occurred to me while I was there, I haven’t done a SFW YCH, so expect that coming down the pipeline.
Also while I was there, I decided that I really need something physical that I can sell. I don’t know if it’ll be peeler beads or a laminator for badges, but I hope to get something in time for next year.
