Hi everyone,

In the past few months my life has changed a LOT. I have moved into my first house and I have a new full-time job.

During this whirlwind, I fell out of my usual workflow. I've been distracted with numerous things, most of them trivial and irresponsible.

I sincerely apologize for this breach in professionalism, and I want to reassure commissioners that my workflow is to begin again immediately.

Due to my lengthy and unexplained disappearance, I will honour any refund requests that may arise for my current queue, according to how much work has been completed. If no such request is received, the piece will be completed as normal (and as soon as possible).

I am sincerely grateful for your patience as I clamber out of this whirlwind.

These Terms of Service are relevant to NONCOMMERCIAL projects only and are subject to revisions, editing, and additions without notice.
Prices and policies are based in part off of the "Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines, 13th Edition" book.

By commissioning me, you agree to my TOS:

1) Displayed base prices are subject to change according to the complexity, difficulty, size and medium of each individual piece.

2) Payments must be made in full within 7 days of invoice before any work is done. Once full payment has cleared, the Client's commission will be added to the Artist's work queue.

3) Payments are accepted in USD only, through Paypal. The Artist will not accept payment in any other form.

4) Clear and concise visual references and/or description of a commission idea must be provided by the Client. After which a preliminary quote will be provided by the Artist.

5) After full payment is received, the Artist will provide a preliminary sketch. In this stage, a maximum of 2 major revisions may be requested. Major revisions include pose, composition, and theme.
After this sketch is approved by the Client, the Artist will do no more than 2 minor revisions. Minor revisions include eye colour, basic accessories, and small details that require less than 20 minutes to repair. The Client has 14 days from the date of the submitted work by the Artist to request a minor revision.

6) Refund policy is as follows; if the client wishes to cancel their commission before work begins, the artist will retain 5% of the commission payment as a convenience fee. In the event of Client cancellation during the sketch/thumbnail stage phase, a 50% refund of original payment will be issued. No refund will be issued if the Client cancels during the colour stage, or after the commission is complete. If the Artist cancels the commission, 100% of the payment will be refunded to the Client.

7) The Artist reserves the right to cancel a commission and issue a refund for any reason.

8) Communications about commissions between the client and Artist will take place solely through HatoTheDragon[at]gmail.com for the purpose of record-keeping and consolidation. The artist will not discuss commissions with a Client using personal note, instant messenger, or public forum.

9) The Artist ensures the Client will receive email updates on commission when necessary. Clients are encouraged to check in when they feel it's necessary for updates, assurance, reminders, or questions.

10) The Artist retains the right to display all commissioned work on any personal website, gallery, or journal. If the commissioned work is a time-sensitive gift the Artist may delay public showcase at the request of the Client.

11) The Artist retains ALL the rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to make prints and merchandise, and to alter the commissioned work to make it more generic for print at the Artist’s discretion. Image rights can be negotiated for an added fee.

12) The Client retains all rights to their respective characters. This does not allow them rights to the commissioned image (see articles 10 and 11).

13) The Client may not profit from the artwork. This includes the sale of the digital files, or rights to the image.

14) The Client may create up to three prints for personal use (display in their home or as gifts). Client may also resize or crop the artwork to create icons, wallpapers, or other graphics to be used in non-commercial digital format, but the Client cannot alter the artwork itself. The Client may also upload the artwork to their personal website or gallery accompanied by a credit line to the Artist, and it must not be any high resolution or unwatermarked version of the artwork.

15) The Artist may recycle sketches and preparatory works that were rejected by the Commissioner for other commissions or personal works.

16) In the event that a client is unreachable by ordinary contact means (email) for 3 months or more, the Artist reserves the right to cancel the commission and retain a 5% fee. If the Client is unreachable for 6 months or more, a refund will not be issued. The client is welcome to receive credit valid toward another commission at the Artists current rate (having rescinded their spot in line due to lack of communication). If the client is unreachable for 1 year or more, then the payment is void.

17) The Artist reserves the right to reject any commission for any reason.

18) The Client must read, understand and agree to all the above terms before entering into an agreement with the Artist. By sending payment, the Client agrees to the above terms.

Aaaaand that's it! I have decided that I will ONLY take painting commissions - basically meaning that I don't do flat-colour/line-art any more. I will do sketch commissions in stream or as warm ups.

In order to improve myself in the direction I intend to take my work, I must work in that style. I absolutely loathe creating flat-colour images and so I will no longer do them at this time.

It's been a really long time since I've typed up a full journal, I think! I'm back in Canada now after being in Florida for the summer (again), commissions are full-steam-ahead (queue list at the bottom of this journal). Unfortunately I'm sick (again, who's surprised) so that's been a little bump in the road, but it'll pass.

I'm trying really hard to make it to FWA this spring so we'll see how that goes! I'd love to be able to see everyone again. I met so many cool people this summer and I love you all <3

Well everyone, the day is finally here and I'm just a few hours from leaving for the summer. I will spend most of today with friends and family saying my goodbyes, so I'm saying my FA one a little early. I might check in here to comment or reply to things, but as of today my art is on hiatus until August!

I wish you all an amazing summer and I am looking forward to doing my artwork when I come back.

Sooooo Friday morning I was up bright and early with tons of luggage... I brought my fursuit and all my art supplies, so it was a lot of stuff! I reg'd and went into the dealers den and was sitting beside and ! Honestly I did not even expect to break even during this con, I was preparing myself for the worst. But the great news is that many attendees loved my work and I ended up being successful in the dealers den! Yay! (And thanks to everyone who supported me, I loved drawing you!)

Friday night I went out for supper at Montanas with , , and Charms, it was great and their new mac and cheese is fantaaaaaaastic. Then it was a fun filled walmart trip where we found bedazzling hats... including one that looks like party tiger. woohoo!

The dance friday was sweet! I went suiting a little bit and ran in right on time for the song 'Selfie' to start. It's currently my favourite song so I was really pumped.

Saturday I was up early again (buffet breakfast yasssssss) and doing art in the dealers den all day! After that we all went to fatburger (never been before and it was sooo good). I helped host the fursuit performance panel too. Then... dance comp. I've never entered before and I was so nervous. I forgot most of my choreography! But I still gave it my best shot and I was pretty happy with the feedback I received. I'm not sure if/when I will enter another one, but I'm really glad that I had the experience! Also and threw flowers at me after my dance and I felt really special <3333333

Saturday night after the comp I didn't suit much, but did go dancing a spreading the peche dollar love with peche and charms... that was definitely one of the highlights of the con, I'm so pumped that I finally have peche dollars. $$$$$$$$$$

Sunday morning was also an early one, but had a great breakfast with , , , and ! They're all such great friends so it was such a nice coincidence that we happened to all meet up for breakfast at the same time! I spent most of sunday finishing up my queue in the dealer's den, and then saying goodbye to everyone at the closing ceremonies.

After closing ceremonies and I went to play some smash bros. brawl in the gaming room. There were a lot of people there and it was a fun (and sometimes hilarious) way to wind down the con.

Overall this has been my favourite Fur-Eh that I have attended and I am so excited to attend it again in the future!
