Art with Helio & Co.!
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! Ever wanted to get some art with my characters? Or are now interested that I've mentioned it? I'd like to start getting more art of my characters, particularly Helio, and it's always really fun to pair up with other characters!
So my plan was to offer up splitting commissions people interested and if I like the pairing/idea! That is, splitting buying from an artist (if you're an artist and want to draw something with your characters & mine, we can just figure out however that payment would work xD)! Could be either NSFW, or SFW if desired! I can't get a ton of ideas at the moment, am not made of money lol, but am gauging interest in this.
Can contact me through any platform if interested! Or by comment here if you don't have my discord or telegram (though they're posted on my page haha)
Fav themes: feral characters, size difference, m/f, f/f, light bondage, wholesome stuff

(Also, am finally home for a few weeks before my summer job, finally getting to relax for a bit for the first time in what feels like forever!! Hope you guys are all doing great too :D)

Finals Week D: (and summer info)
Posted 7 years agoHeyo everyone! It's that time of the semester now... going to spend the next week in an absolute hellscape of meteorology and physics exams, have been preparing for a while and this is definitely going to be the roughest finals week yet. Managed to get the YCHs done before hand, which was awesome!
Will try to work on more stuff during the week when I can, but given the amount of work for finals, and my possible inability to draw over the summer after this week, that may have been my last work here for a while. All paid for work has been completed which was my goal, so that got reached!
Hopefully I don't fall out of practice over the summer if that's the case! These are gonna be a long 4 months D:
Now if you'll excuse me, my first final is 8 am tomorrow, so I'm off to bed. Let the final countdown commence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jK-NcRmVcw

Updates!
Posted 7 years agoHeyo! Just an update journal to let you guys know I'm alive lol, even if college has got me feeling otherwise. One more week of classes and finals (if I survive them), so that's a plus! This semester, and particularly this month, have been just beating me down with classwork and exams and I am completely burned out mentally, and have never been more ready to get a break.
But the downside here is that after finals, I am going home, where I usually constantly have family home. So drawing may be suuuper limited until like... late August when I'm back out here. And from June-early August I will be living/working at a summer camp and will have no internet access, so those two months are definitely out. So that's gonna suck lol
Trying to work on the YCHs today but the combined exhaustion from school + being slightly out of practice is, making this a tough endeavor. Trying to push through so I don't get stuck not being able to draw at home D:
Hope you're all doing good!

Regarding Requests
Posted 7 years agoHeyo! Wanted to make this update regarding the list of requested art. Since I've moved onto taking commissions since gathering ideas a while ago, and combined with general life busy-ness (and a need to like, make money and all that fun adult stuff), getting to everything on the free art list is somewhat unfeasible, and I've decided to trim down the list quite a bit.
And afterwards, I'll likely only have requests open between good friends, or perhaps 1 or 2 from a journal if I can get around to it. Thank you for understanding!
And of course, if your request is on the list and you want it still, I am open for commissions!

Working Thumbnails? + Small Updates
Posted 7 years agoHeyo! Just uploaded two pieces that I tested submission thumbnails on, did they work for anyone? Debating about using them still so I figured I'd give them a shot for those two.
In other news, finally burning through those trades, and starting the lined pieces! These next two weeks are pretty busy school wise (can't seem to get a break from exams >:o), but I had a recent motivation boost and have been pushing to get stuff done.
Also a reminder that sketch commissions are open! These are really fun and don't take that long to do, and I could definitely use a few extra bucks to end the semester w/o worrying too much about food (still getting by in that regard, still not out of the clear though). Info can be found here: https://www.furaffinity.net/commissions/heliofox/

Posted 7 years agoHeyo! I've not really got any jokes today haha, pretty wiped out from drawing all day. Just hoping you're all having a good day!
Am so glad March is over with now, it was a wild ride of stresses, life things, and some rough challenges I wasn't sure how to face alone, but with the help of some friends I was able to ride it out and end the month on an amazing note with a new, stronger outlook on life. Here's to an even better April! <3

Sketch Commission Slots! + Commission Updates
Posted 7 years agoHeyo! Finished up the last of the sketch commissions in the queue today, the slots are empty for those now! Lined pieces are being worked on in the background (they take longer) as well as some trades that are being wrapped up.
If you'd like the chance to commission me, April's the time! I can't guarantee how available I am in the long stretch from May to August, this summer is completely up in the air at the moment once the semester ends, will keep you guys updated as that rolls around. Sketches are quick and really fun to do! If you're interested, send me a note or a message on discord/telegram! :D
Also, made some small adjustments to prices, just with the addition of a small fee for coloring since that takes some time to get done, with the option to stay uncolored as well. This only applies to new commissions, anything on the list now is the price as before (I know which ones those are!):

100 Watchers! +updates
Posted 7 years agoWoah! When did I cross 100 watchers? Am only at 101, so must not have been long ago, somehow didn't catch that though. Thank you guys so much for your support to this point!! <3
So as of today, our musical is finally over, so I no longer have to work (I keep calling it work, but it was unpaid >:o) late nights for that show! I was not having a good time, the communication from my superiors on the staff was astoundingly bad at times, and it nearly drove me through the wall. The show itself was pretty fun, and so was working with the staff when things went well, but overall the stresses (and not getting to go home over spring break!) were not worth it. I am so glad it's over with and I can focus back on school and maybe relaxing a ~bit~ more now. Though my family came out from across the state to see it and visit, so that was a really nice experience that eased some stresses!
And also, some looming issues, my laptop is seriously trying to test my patience. The battery has critically failed despite only being a year and a half old (it runs fine on AC power thankfully, been on this for a while now), and the screen's having glitching issues that were ruled as a potential motherboard problem. If my campus tech service cannot fix the issues, I'd have to ship the laptop to Kentucky for who knows how long, and while that would be covered financially by the warranty, I cannot be without a laptop here at school for classes. So I've got to put up with this until May and... basically hope it doesn't completely crap out. Already backing everything up! Let's hope this doesn't become a major issue anytime soon.
Also been trying to get some doodles/practice pieces out! Been using them as practice for things like perspective, expressions, etc, things I really need to work on. I've gotten sketching down pretty good, so this is a reminder that commissions for them are still open! They're much easier to do that lined pieces, and are much quicker/more fun to do as well in my opinion. Info here! https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8635460/
And now if you need me, I'll be back to classwork due tomorrow morning... current mood:

Rest in Peace Stephen Hawking
Posted 7 years agoI can't believe I'm reading this. This man accomplished so much in a life that he wasn't even told he'd be able to live. Trying to imagine where we would be as a society and a scientific community without him is just, impossible. This is heartbreaking... rest in peace Stephen Hawking. Thank you for everything you gave to us, and the inspiration you gave me to me and countless others to pursue a life of science to better the human race. You will be greatly missed <3

Updates! 3/13/18
Posted 7 years ago...have I been putting 2017 as the year for previous update journals? If that's not a testament to my stress levels I don't know what is lmao
But anyways, hey guys! Meant to make this a few days ago when I got back from my meteorology conference last weekend, but have gotten caught up in a whirlwind of things that took my mind off of it. So here we go!
First off, Saratoga Springs, NY is a beautiful little town! Definitely visit if you get the chance, though I'd visit sometime other than winter lmao, upstate New York is very cold.
As a result of this conference, I've been in full swing talking with connections made up there to look into possible summer internships with meteorology or space weather based programs, and I'm incredibly excited for what will come of this! Even as a sophomore without as much experience under my belt, so many opportunities have been opened up to me that I did not know existed. I could go from working at a sucky boy scout summer camp, to spending the summer at any location around the United States, or even somewhere abroad! Things have changed so fast I almost can't keep up with them :D
Now for this week, it is technically my spring break. But unlike all of my friends, I'm stuck here at my university working our musical's tech week, which involves 12 hour shifts (unpaid!!!) every day through next Sunday. Thankfully I am only a spotlight operator, so that 12 hours involves me sitting up in a light booth for the entire time just waiting for my cues to be called. Really boring, but easy work I guess. Relaxing as well, but manages to really wear you out after sitting for 12 hours lol, got back today and could not muster up any energy to draw (writing this instead). I'd call it a break from classes as well, but some of my professors decided to assign work that needs to be done before it's over >:O
So that's how things are going! Finally some silver linings among the stress. This fox is going places~
Hope that everyone else is doing good!

Thank you mother nature!
Posted 7 years agoWoohoo! Due to this Noreaster today, my university made the call this time to cancel classes (unlike the last storm we had where we didn't, and it was a much worse ice storm), which means my busiest day of classes is completely free! Well, free of classes at least, I do have an unfortunate amount of work to get done before this weekend still. But I have so much more time to do it today :D
If I can get that work done early enough, going to push to get as much art done as possible! This is the most free of a day I've had in weeks and I've got no idea when the next one is, so I'm going to use it if I can. I'll take a partial mental health day over nothing!!

Submission Thumbnails - Input Needed!
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! Got a question for everyone.
So, what is your opinion on thumbnails for fetish art?
I enjoy drawing fetishy stuff as much as I do vanilla kinks/sfw, but I don't want people to be uncomfortable trying to watch for the vanilla stuff and having to get the fetish stuff as well. But, I know that thumbnails can be annoying, so I want to get opinions on doing something like this. Want to be able to appeal to everyone! :D

Updates! 3/5/17
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! Couple of developments to go over! Hope everyone is doing good :D
This week will be pretty packed with school work as usual, but even more busy because from March 9th to the 11th I'll be up in Saratoga Springs, NY for the first time for a meteorology conference! Super excited for it, but I'll obviously not be able to work during the trip haha, and I've gotta use the time I have to get ready for it.
The week after this trip is technically my spring break, but I am on tech for our school's musical, and they unfortunately choose spring break as the tech week. So, I will be stuck out at school for the entirety of break (it's our only break this semester, so I don't get to go home until May </3), and will be pretty busy the entire time as well. So, so much for a break. At least classes will not be going on then, so it's a break from something lol
Another recent development is that I will likely have to hold off from commissioning people for a while. My university drastically changed our dining hours this semester and I didn't have a meal plan set up to accommodate them (was already paid before the changes), I've had to use more meals than usual and I've entered a mid-semester-meal-crisis, if you will lol, with half of the semester to go and enough meals to only cover if I ate once a day. So, this means that what money I have will have to go towards paying this damn university more than I do already. Which means as much as I love supporting friends and artists, I've gotta shift focus for the rest of the semester because I don't make enough from the jobs I currently work to support both school and getting art. My commissions will still be open, as an extra way to make some money, but that comes with the downfall of not having as much time as I'd like to spend on them to actually do them, as well as trades that I'm catch up on as well. I don't want to pick up a 4th job just to make money and add even more stress to an already stressful semester.
So with all this, will be doing the best I can to catch up on owed art, I seriously can't thank you guys enough for the support and patience. <3
I guess that was a bit of a vent? Lol, thank you for reading if you did. Life sure has got it's ways of trying to knock you down when you're trying to get by, staying as positive as possible! Now have some inspiring music to shift the mood haha, got to finally watch The Greatest Showman this weekend and the music is a very good motivator for tough times :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW2FUY3N-n0

Updates! 3/1/17
Posted 7 years agoHappy March everyone! February just completely flew by haha, and now it's most my favorite time of the year! So ready for spring lol
I've got a pretty big exam tomorrow that I'll be busy with tonight into tomorrow, but after that, that chunk of exams that I had will finally be done with! At least, until the next round of 'em lol, but for now I'll definitely be a bit more free! March does still have some busy moments with school, including a meteorology conference in Saratoga Springs next weekend that I'm super hyped for, but for the most part I think this month will be much more relaxing than February ended up being. Hopefully can pick up on productivity with owed work, thank you guys so much for your patience! :D
In addition to busyness from the exam, this current Nor'Easter gives me a good shot at losing power if the wind is bad enough here, even though I'm not really in the worst spot of it. No idea how my college dorm handles power outages lol, but if it does go out, my laptop battery is at a point where it can only run on AC power (a future expense I'm not looking forward to D:), so I would be unable to work on anything if that were to happen. If it does, I'll keep you guys updated!
And on a very unrelated note, I finally got around to watching Kubo and the Two Strings! SUCH A GOOD MOVIE :O

50 watchers already!
Posted 7 years agoHey guys! Woke up and saw that we're already back to 50 watchers, that's awesome! Since my old account had many people watching initially from me reposting commissions, I never really had a good gauge of who watched me for my art, so it's amazing to already be up to 50 and see a lot of familiar faces, along with new ones! Thank you guys for all the support <3
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take 3 exams in a row. May whatever higher being that exists guide me through this D:

Commissions... OPEN! (Requests/Trades CLOSED)
Posted 7 years agoMake sure to read this any my TOS before asking stuff, it applies to all of my art! So there's less confusion and everything is understood, but feel free to ask for any clarifications if needed too :D
Hey guys! I was initially going to hold off on opening commissions, but I've received some interest as I continued on through the request queue, so I decided to sit down and actually get them set up. All the info for my TOS and prices are in the commission info tab here: https://www.furaffinity.net/commiss.....michael123789/
And I have a trello set up as well, will update as things begin to fill up! It's got a cute fox in the background and everything: https://trello.com/b/Q35STFYa/queue
All 3 levels (comms, requests, & trades) fall under the same applicable TOS info, so make sure to read it! Tried to make them not boring to read while getting everything necessary in :D
For commissions, I have 5 slots open to start for each, though they probably won't be filled right off the bat, so they'll be open unless all 5 are taken. These take priority over requests, and will get full attention to be done, rather than on my own time like the requests. I am more willing to draw ideas from the "willing to draw" list of the TOS for commissions than for requests!

Commissions will take priority over requests, and these will continue to be done on my own time whenever I can get around to them, and in any order
Choosing ideas from the TOS's list of what I enjoy drawing are very likely to be chosen for requests, other stuff is a case by case basis and much less likely.

Welcome to HelioFox! :D
Posted 7 years agoHey everyone! Whether you're here from my old account or finding me for the first time, welcome! Hope you enjoy what you see! The process has taken all day, and I still have to go back and rewatch all the artists I followed on the old account, that will take a while for sure. But all my old art is uploaded here now! So from here on out, all new stuff!
For the story of HelioFox, it's pretty simple one. I am minoring inn heliophysics in college (well, will be, only a sophomore at the moment and am just touching the surface of it lol) and want to go onto grad school for it someday, and if you know me you know I adore foxes, so a combination of the two just felt really right. So, here we are! Not much to it other than that haha
As for what you can call me now with the new account for those used to the old one, people have started with "Helio", I kinda like that! But now for a funny story regarding how people used to know me lmao, the name Michael123789? My name actually isn't Michael, that was the random one I happened to pick when I was younger/dumber in that "oh I don't want to use my real name for this stuff" phase, and instead of choosing an actual username, I went with that for some reason and, well, just kinda stuck more than I expected...? Got too used to it to ever bring that up and never expected a name change like this, but I figure there's no time like the present for that info now that I've moved on from that account xD
Along with the new account, I opened up a Ko-Fi! Donations are greatly appreciated, though I don't drink coffee so it'd be going towards hot chocolate xD https://ko-fi.com/heliofox
