Ever since staff removed some of my 3d models for being "screenshots" when in fact they were renders out of 3dsmax i've decided never to post a single thing to this. especially after screenshots became kosher like a month later.

Posted 10 years agoits nice to know that not only is everything i do for a certain someone not appreciated at all, apparently they think i objectify them. well i'm done doing favors for free and being treated like crap as a reward. Tired of doing people favors and then having them talk shit about me behind my back WHILE I'M DOING THE FAVOR. god, its like i'm fucking obligated to serve them or something, that the things i do without asking ever for a return or even thanks because i never do get thanks are REQUIRED OF ME and not something i do willingly out of love.

A small group of people exist in this world and these are their stories.

Posted 14 years agoWell I've been here a year and i haven't made a journal in a long ass time so here's my thought on the Dorito shaped rock out in the middle of the Atlantic
First off public transportation here is a joke, the bus system is abstract and apparently strikes that last four months aren't unheard of, though they are fair priced and have free WiFi (though it never works)
cabs are interesting "jiffy-cab where ya at" you tell them where you are "right away *click*"
very efficient, I'm sure you back in Ontario can agree that them asking where yo are where you're going and why is a little bullshit since the cabby is just going to ask that again when he gets there
now the people, newfies are strange that's for sure, baymen and townies are more contrasted here than anywhere else, and there's a constant discrimination against anything that isn't newfie. and even then there's constant discrimination against townies and baymen.. well between the two, but the weird part is its not a hatred... its not even a dislike its a joking kinda "your team sucks my team is better" kind of thing. Theres a slang but it doesn't seem wildly used, Ontario has smog, here its replaced by fog, probably better if you ask me, still hazardous at night XD. people are more laid back here about manners, grandmothers are seen swearing casually, people are harder to offend.

my gf is really particular about her sleeping arrangement, her blankets must be in an order and i made fun of that, and i was really rude now i realize because its apparently a Newfoundland tradition to make your grandchild a quilt, so i basically dissed all four of her dead grandmothers... and considering my belief that anything you make has a piece of your soul in it.... i feel horrible now

Posted 15 years agoanyone else really annoyed to see like 25+ journals or submissions and then find that most of them have been deleted? i check my fa 2x a day and thats usually around 50 or 40 submissions and a dozen journals every time and HALF OF THEM ARE "deleted by poster" wtf people

My thoughts on Software piracy
Posted 15 years agoFirst of, software developers get paid a salary, they don't get bonuses or commissions if the game does well, with the exception of some game companies
so really who is hurt by lack of profits? ip owners
now I'm not saying piracy is good or you should do it, I'm saying that the people who are being robbed... have a fuckton of money and probably aren't noticing a huge impact.

DRM - sometimes piracy statistics come from games that are so drm bullshit that the people that bought the game go and download a pirated copy just so they can play it offline/on more than one pc/in peace without having to log in
drm is really giving pirates what they wanted in the first place, a challenge, something to justify their actions and frankly it does justify them, how many times have i bought a warnerbros film and not had any subtitles for it for my deaf girlfriend? you'd be surprised Harry potter and the order of the phoenix has no closed captions or subtitles. guess where hexi has to turn to get hir deaf gf the movie in an enjoyable format? :3
that has little to do with drm but there's a form of drm present in movies thats pretty bad and i think you all know what i mean, unskippable ads. yeah those 10 odd previews that they make you watch or if they're feeling nice fast forward or skip but you cant just go, movie in play.... unless you pirate it.
Staggered release: i'm guilty of this, due to the fact that i follow japanese release titles i've often downloaded a translated patch game so i could have the game SEVERAL MONTHS EARLY yeah we're not talking one or two months, pokemon heart gold soul silver were out in japan in september 2009, and didnt release in canada untill march 14th 2010. and still hasnt released in the uk.
so yeah i downloaded and played it... hell yes i did! and then i bought the north american release cuz... free pokewalker cmon.
but what i'm saying is piracy isnt the theiving and pillaging that riaa makes it out to be, often its actually fully within the us law actually.

fucking eh, what this is... is basically two gigabytes of online storage that syncs with a folder in your documents folder on your pc, and any other pc the software is installed on, its kinda like a free 2gig usb key. write up a report at school, upload to the site. and its on your computer at home before you get there \o/

Posted 15 years agoLately i've been having issues doing online game stuff cuz of ping lag, which i could write a whole journal about...
anyway one really annoying/somewhat funny aspect of ping lag is what it does to shit in secondlife when you're trying to build..
namely if you're a person that creates the way i do, move something to a spot, hate it move it again... hate it, decide it was best where it was hit undo a dozen times... well that just doesnt work in secondlife unless you've got really good net cuz every time you move an object or anything for that matter it remembers the position server side and undos come from the server side
so what happens if your pings shit is stuff... jumps around... its really hard to explain it fully but its been called "Sl Disco, Asset disco" anyway i was working on a macros dick (avatar more than 7 feet tall) and what i attempted to do was make it instantly the size i wanted it to be... instead what happened is all the primatives in the penis moved to the spot they should be were the dick that size, but none of them enlarged... so it looked like the dick exploded XD
i had a chuckle

Posted 16 years agoSo apparently the body is a fragile delicate thing..... well dur but I've learned something folks! if you change your diet from one specific thing to another in a matter of days guess what happens? your colon gets pissed :P n.n I've been kinda ill for the past two days with what I'm told is called ibs or irritable bowel syndrome. apparently you cant just go changing your diet from crap dinner and ramen to actual food just willy nilly :3
