i was WAY more burned out than i thought i was lmao i haven't picked up my stylus in one million years...

trying to get back to it, I want to draw for fun again! looking at other people's art on here always makes me want to draw so much. it's hard tho innit

commission wise I have no plans to start taking them again in the near future (and definitely won't ever be taking them in the volume I used to, I have a different full time job now!) but it'd be nice to do some on the side here and there one day if I can work back up to it. it's rewarding work and i miss it!

apart from that i moved at the end of last year and i am still unpacking all my stuff 😩 my cat just learned to use the cat wheel i got her after months of looking at it distrustfully. my new job is localisation editing which still involves a fair amount of dongs. i got into blind box bjds recently and now my desk is covered in little dolls. and i'm getting a dog this summer!

here is the situation!

for a while now i've felt a bit dissatisfied with my art, because art wise i basically only have the time and energy to do commissions, and it's gotten me in kind of a rut cos it means i don't get to do much by way of studies or practicing stuff outside of my general commission wheelhouse. for a long time i've wanted to spend more time practicing scenery, for instance, or experimenting with style a bit more, but i just haven't had space to do it. however! recently some work i've been doing on the side means i can afford to spend more time not working, and it's gotten to the point where i can afford to not take commissions.

(financially, at least. for me personally drawing furry commissions is extremely fulfilling in a way most other work never is.... i will definitely crave it spiritually before too long lol)

SO, for now, i'm going to take some time off commission work and use my drawing energy on personal stuff instead. i'd really like to do some comics or something but i don't want to make any promises wrt that lest i put undue pressure on myself and collapse lol. but i'm going to be drawing my OCs and stuff and figuring out how to draw stuff in a way that feels better to me! so expect to see more of that kind of thing soon-ish.

i will most likely take commissions again at some point in the future but i don't know when!

like before, I can't use Paypal any more, I send invoices & take credit card payments through Stripe. it's pretty painless, altho it doesn't have an integrated tip function like paypal does so you gotta use my ko-fi if you wanna tip me :3

hi gang! just so you know, i'm still alive, just in the process of moving back to canada for good this time! i've actually been back for the last month, but I've spent January apartment hunting, and I've finally got a place lined up starting March. that means I won't have a work space set up again for another month, though, so things'll continue to be quiet around here through February unless I wind up writing some groce tf for u guys in my downtime haha... i'm looking forward to getting back to work though! really hoping that now that my situation is finally about to be actually stable for the first time in several years i'll be able to post more original stuff as well as commissions :3
