I'd like to start putting commission and trade work on my main account, as I feel sometimes it swamps this account and messes up the whole character-based thing I sometimes get going. I realize I could just put things in scraps from now on but I'd rather not do exactly that.

Commission information, reminders, and the occasional ad will be crossposted to both accounts, so sorry about that (most of my audience is over here though, so!). I haven't decided whether bird-based commissions/trades/etc will still be posted here, if I decide to do the switchover at all. We'll see how it pans out. Maybe I'll just do an arbitrary "if it feels like it fits" type thing, or maybe just post one of a bunch here and post the rest on my main.

Hello everyone!

Just as a note, these "small updates" are more of a personal nature. So if you're only here for the art and not the artist (which I totally get), not really for you! Anyway, moving on.

I've had a bit of a rough spot, not sure if it was noticeable or not. If you were unaware, I do have, and am fairly open about having, depression as well as a few forms of anxiety/panic disorder. Which culminates in not a lot of fun for me. Basically this is why sometimes I don't really talk much to the people who comment or note me. Sorry about that.

It's gotten rough. We were almost to the point of hospitalizing me, which is something I'm very kneejerk against because god knows what would happen there. Instead I've been in and out of crisis counseling here at my campus, which is a bit easier for me since it's something I've had to do before. We're working out a plan that'll allow me to finish up the semester, hopefully without further incident. This is good, considering I was 99.9% sure I was going to have to take a leave, go home, and take care of myself there.

On the bright side I've finally made an appointment with a therapist who can hopefully see me long-term, and who also specializes in gender issues. So maybe maybe I can hit a flock of birds with one stone here within the next few months.

So I'm not sure what's going to happen long-term, but I'll try to be around. And if I'm not, I'm just recuperating on the side. Which is hopefully understandable.

All of my journals are either a question or music I know I know I don't know what else to make journals for aa.

One of the things that was mentioned a few times was that I tend to be a bit vague about the things that I submit, and the characters/situation involved. Which I admit I usually am a bit minimal with my words, but that’s usually because I think whatever I need to say has already gotten across. But maybe not! I don’t know!

So it’d be super helpful for me going forward to hear A) what sorts of things you’d like to see in general and/or B) your impressions of DTEIT, it’s overall story, and its characters/character relationships. The first so I have a general idea of what would be cool to do, and the second so I know if I’m track with what I’ve already done regarding my guys.

Basically any sort of feedback helps, especially since I’m a pretty nervous person about all this kinda stuff haha.

As explained in my previous journal, along with giving me your ref I should also be given a song, and I'll base the commission's pose/style/pallet/etc. off of the mood I get from the song. A few things though!

-This is a bit of a grab-bag style commission. I'll end up doing relatively random styles, but I'll be spending about equal time on each (don't worry about getting a 5 minute sketch while someone else got a painting!).
-No guarantees I'll get the same feel from the song that you do, remember.
-I won't be doing WIP's and I won't be doing changes other than mistakes in character design.

Hey everyone! I proposed an idea over on Tumblr and a few people seemed interested, so I figured I'd ask here too.

I'm thinking of opening a special kind of commission for a short time, where you give me your character as normal but also a specific song. I base the commission, it's style, pose, color scheme, etc., off of the song and the mood I get from it. The quality would be akin to my general commissions (my most recent examples are this and this, more examples on my commission page).

Not sure exactly what the cost would be, but it'd probably be between $20 and $30 USD. I'd have a ton of fun with something like this, so if anyone's honestly interested, just let me know!

Hello everyone! I hope you're doing well.

Currently I'm in the bogs of school, and the workload there is obviously going to cause a slowdown here. So updates, especially of the heftier nature, are going to be fewer and more far between, though I hope to at least get something worthwhile out every week or so. But yeah, sorry about that, I'm having to be a chem student instead of a doodler for a while. uvu

Another part of the slowdown is I'm hoping to do something more along the lines of writing instead of visual for DTEIT for a while, because I feel like that's been neglected pretty hardcore. I used to write all the time and, like most people who used to write all the time, basically don't at all anymore. And I'd like to fix that. I have an idea of how I want to format anything I do, but we'll see how that goes.

Would anyone here be interested in me posting things like that? If my plans go through it won't just be a text file, so I wouldn't feel too bad about at least posting reminders whenever I finish one. But yeah.

Radical Face's The Family Tree: The Roots album is available for free over on Noisetrade for a limited time. This is the album DTEIT is based on, and is generally considered a hugely emotional experience to listen to. It's quiet but loud and calm but deeply moving.

Moving into my dorm this weekend, came out earlier than need be to spend a few days with my partner before getting to business. So! I probably won't be around much, except to respond to notes and comments, till Sunday. I'll be getting to work on what I owe people pretty quickly after that.

I'm also taking my first art class this semester, so maybe I'll actually learn me a thing and have some decent work.

On another note I do feel ready to start up some of the character interaction comics again once I have time for personal art, so that should be a thing unless I end up more swamped than expected.
