So I reckon I owe an explanation for kind of just disappearing for quite a few months there. Truth be told, I was kind of struggling with my position in the TF community, and whether or not I should even continue to be here. Hell, I even did for a hot minute there. But some things in life just have a habit of pulling you back in, and TF was no exception. Long story short, I'll be back for the time being. I can't guarantee I'll be here permanently (especially as I've had aspirations beyond TF for a very long time now) but I'll try to make up for my absence.

And how else to do it but during Octransfur, right? I've spent the past week or so concocting some killer ideas for some TF into other people's original characters. From around the TF community, I hope to give people's worlds and characters the justice they deserve in my writing. Expect a degree of in-depth writing that's a caliber above what I've worked on in the past. I only hope I'm not out of practice from not making TF for so long.

Hey, everyone!

Ah, it's a new year, full of new opportunities for discovery and growth, and I'm certainly one to capitalize on that with some plans for my output in the future. Resolutions, if you will.

START INVESTING MORE INTO ART
As you could tell from my Artfight posts last July, I started to dip my toes into drawn works. I had some fun trying my hand at a different style, but I think it's high time for me to continue doing that and pursue some more ambitious work. Ideally I'd want to draw a project similar in caliber to the stuff I was making then on a weekly basis. My method of producing art isn't exactly the quickest, but I hope that the results will show some improvement as I go along, at least!

CATCHING UP WITH MY WRITING
This has been something I've been struggling with for years, and I want this one to be when I finally nail down a consistent routine with my writing. I've been terribly inconsistent, and I think it's put me in and out of practice time and time again. I hope to at least put out 1000 words of writing towards various projects a day, whether it be smaller blurbs or more substantial stories. Adding on to this, if anyone reading this happens to be someone I owe an Octransfur story to (or just a regular commission), rest assured that I'll get to your story sometime this month. Past this month, I'm definitely cooking up some ideas that'll definitely get some heads turning.

COMMISSION OPPORTUNITIES
Also for the coming months, I'll be opening commissions more regularly (as well as more traditionally). My rates will be the same as they'll usually be, but I want some space to do some other non-traditional commission work. Specifically next month, fans of Pokemon should keep their eyes peeled for what I'll announce!

ORIGINAL NON-TF WORK (gasp)
While I'm not leaving TF entirely for the moment, this will be the year I finally fully commit to making non-TF writing. I've already done art, but I'm certainly game to broaden my horizons creatively by pursuing some more original concepts, characters, and stories. It'll definitely be weird, but I definitely want it to be great.

In summary, I got a lot in mind for this account moving forward that should excite everyone. It's the least I could do for all the wonderful people I've met and the equally wonderful people that have followed this account. While a number like 200 on here might seem small, I'm shocked I got this far online in general and I'm grateful for every opportunity I've had these last five years.

Hey, everyone!

31 stories, 65450 words. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. By all accounts, I should be feeling extremely burnt out, and while I'm feeling extremely tired from all of these stories at once, I can't deny this was the biggest writing W I've had in a long time. After three years of trying and three years of failures not even a third into the challenge, this was the year I managed to clinch a win. Even past all the minor delays, even past all the late nights spent at my computer, even past the weird feet comments, all of this was totally worth it. I think what really did it for me this year was my limit on word counts. In previous years, I kind of just let stories get as long as I could make them in a day, and while that led to some great stuff like my Hollycroft story I ultimately think it gave me a lack of direction that made me fail in the long run. Limiting myself to a short length gave me a clear finish line and ultimately helped me produce more stories. While the quality of the stories themselves did ultimately vary (my knowledge in the subject material definitely varied from day to day and I would be lying if I said I felt on autopilot for some, I think the overall variety in the TFs I did make made this a net good in the end. I've always prided myself in casting a wide net in different characters and interests and this was a great exercise in getting out of my comfort zone, and the sheer number of words I wrote has made me a better writer in general with my work ethic. I'm very glad that the response has been so positive for these as well, especially from the commissioners! I've managed to gain more than 50 watchers on DA and 30 on FA in the past month, probably because posting stuff gives people more things to look at and favorite, who knew? Thanks from the bottom of my heart for all the support, everyone.

Now, what comes next for me past Octransfur? I'm not taking a break after this or anything, but I'm almost certainly putting a pause on my commissions for now and I'm gonna go work on a bunch of stories I've needed to write for a while. This challenge has motivated me to keep the productivity going, though I'm probably scaling back to 1000 words per day for stories that will be more than 2000 words. Keep on the lookout for any stories I'll write after this. After this show of sheer quantity, I want to work on quality and refine my style, start editing my stories to a more developed degree, and work on things I'm most passionate about right now. Hey, everyone! I first wanted to take this spot to thank all of you for favoriting and watching my very first commissions these past few months, because I think they look great! I'm glad so many of you out there agree, since they have given me some of the most exposure and best reception of anything I've posted. Thanks most of all to the wonderful artists  YeppersPeppers and  tf-plaza for composing them, they are seriously dedicated and talented.

But besides that, the most wonderful time of the year is approaching us: Octransfur! And for this year, I'm doing something different. While previously, I made these solely based on my ideas, but this time I will give you the chance to put down your own idea for a TF story from me! For the first time ever, I am publicly taking commissions! And not just any commissions, pay what you want commissions!

Here's the way these will work: you will select a day's prompt, and formulate a TF idea based upon it. It can be as fitting or loose as you want, it just has to have some relation. Once you send me a note or message me on Discord (@hudsonspacecraft), we can work out pricing once I get to writing the story. I will officially start with writing them on September 1st, with priority given to ones earlier on the list.

As for pricing, I want to make the barrier to entry as low as possible, so I'm issuing a pay what you want scheme! The minimum is $5, but besides that, you can pay any amount you'd like for your story! It will be 2000 words in length, and I am enforcing no limits on what characters or species you might want to get a TF out of!

Hey, everyone! So as you all now, it's now November, so I think it's high time on a little reflection of my output last month. Well, I think I can safely say Octransfur was the most successful yet. Not only in quantity, but in quality, too! I did stop at the same place in my first ever Octransfur, but I think there was a marked difference this time. I distinctly remember stopping on my previous two attempts with a story that I hated. Just hated the sight of. Octransfur 2021's last story isn't even up anymore, I hated that one so much (and before you ask, I probably won't bring that one back).

This year, however, I ended the streak with what was honestly my favorite story I've ever made. That Hollycroft story was honestly something I thought couldn't be beat at the time. Whether that remains true is uncertain, but the very fact that I thought that is something to behold. You guys all seemed to like it, too - I won't be surprised if it ends up as one of my most popular, if not the most. Some other ones stuck out to me, particularly that Janet Harad TF. I think the overall direction I've forged for myself is a better one, and I'm finally starting to see some improvement in my own work. Stuff just felt more fulfilling to make, you know?

But that's enough rambling about the past, what about the future of this account post-Octransfur? My next story will come up in the next couple of days for a contest, most likely, but what about the days of Octransfur I missed? I doubt I'd write all of the ideas I had, but a good amount of them I'll do, especially the ones intended for other people. I also have a bunch of other longer stories planned, so stay tuned for those.

Not much on this month's end. I did manage to get a story out last month, even if it was one of my shorter ones. Still, it wasn't bad for what it was! I think this month will probably be on the lighter side too, but I don't want to guarantee anything at the moment. The poll story has been making slow progress but is coming along nicely! I have another story I want to do soon. Here's a hint: those new Pokémon starters sure look cute!

March will also be a month of anniversary if I can play my cards right! Best of Both Worlds actually released on March 18 two years ago! I actually have an idea for a story that'll be relevant to the themes present in that story, so keep on the lookout for then!

Finally, I am dangerously close to 100 watchers on DA and this will likely be the month I break it. I'll probably do something special for that milestone! Details to come.

Hey, everyone! So that wasn't a very productive month for this account, was it? I dearly apologize for my neglect of uploading stories. That doesn't mean I've been slacking off writing stories in general, I mostly have been biding my time planning larger ideas in the background. But I dearly miss completing and uploading material as much as people miss seeing them, so I've decided to do something interesting.

This here form will be instrumental in deciding my future stories, at least the smaller ones. Yes, I plan on writing smaller stories (around the length of the stuff I write for Octransfur) on a more consistent basis. If I'm lucky, I can expect to get these stories out every Saturday. I've always had tons of ideas but I've never had enough time to write them, and I don't want all the ideas I've had to be the longest thing ever, so I think this is a good compromise. Thanks to my dear friend Roundabbout for the inspiration to do more short stories like this. I'll update the poll and cycle in a new story weekly to replace the one that's chosen. If all goes well, this should be really fun! If you have suggestions for new ideas, don't be afraid to shoot them in the comments section! I'm not sure if I'll pick the ideas, but it's worth a shot.


Having said all that, I don't want the longform stories to end. Near the end of the month, I want to use that time to upload my more meaty stories or start off some multi-parters. I already have one in the works which long-time watchers will be excited for (Hint: it's a TF subject I've done before). I also want to draw at least one more sequence by month's end, for all the fans of the last one I did.

Hey, everyone! As 2021 comes to a close, I think it's paramount to take this space here to reflect as to how this past year is and what I'll do next year. This year wasn't the best for me in terms of content, with the whole "10 month break" thing, but I've been learning to recover from the whole thing, and have been uploading...semi-regularly? At the very least, I did keep one of the promises from the last journal.


2022 is looking a whole lot better, though. I have so many plans in the works and can't wait to show them once I get to them. This month specifically, I'm looking to release a story later today (a rather short one but one to fill out my catalog), two collabs that may release this month if me and my partners can get enough of them done, at least one more drawn sequence, and another trade story (several months late, I know).


As for 2022 as a whole, I want to make this year much more productive than the last, and much bigger as well! I've teased here and there that I have exciting plans for much bigger stories and sequences once I improve my craft. There's the full-fledged TF novel I have in the works (likely to be uploaded little by little over the year), multiple series of TFs that tell an overarching story, and likely the biggest of them all...non-TF stories! Yes, I have a few ideas for more serious stories that do not focus on TF. I'm very excited about these concepts, and even though it might sound like I'm being quite vague, it's only because there will be a time and place for more info about these stories. I'll be sure to put a spotlight on these when I make them! I'd also like to take the time to highlight my new Trello page! I constantly forget to update this page, so I revamped it, and hopefully it'll be where you'll see when these stories and sequences will pan out.

The final thing I'd like to tease is the possibility of me offering commissions finally! I've entertained the idea of doing them in the past, but could never do it because I never knew how to make them work. This year seems to be the one that I can change things, though! If all goes well, I can certainly open a few slots for commissions. I won't guarantee they'll be open that often, but I figure it'll be another way to develop this account into something truly special.

Hey, everyone! It's been a hot minute since I've posted, once again. Octransfur for this year proved to be a bit of a bust - even more than last year - but I'm still glad to be back (at least a little bit). Those stories proved to be my most popular in a while, and I've a mind to continue making stories for everyone who's followed me! I've officially passed 30 watcher on here, so it's safe to say I'm still going.


Anyway, I have another big announcement on my hands: a new story! I know what you aren't thinking, "Why is a single story The difference from all the regular stories on this account is that while the longest story on this account is only about 5-6k words, I'm aiming to make this story ten times the size! NaNoWriMo 2021 is upon us, and I've wanted to participate for years, but I didn't have any ideas that I'd want to commit myself to fully.


But that changes this year, with Foreverglade! I'll only reveal the title at this point, since I'm willing to keep everything to when I write it, but rest assured, it's going to be huge. Radio silence once again. Isn't it fun to follow me? Yeah, I know I was supposed to be much more active over the summer, and now that that ship has sailed and I have literally nothing to show, it's almost pathetic to hear me prattle on again about broken promises. I do admit on slacking on this account for the greater part of a year, and I do apologize for it. However, I think it's high time for a reboot of my content! Tomorrow marks the beginning of Octransfur 2021 by  CrizBN, and I'm anticipating to make a lot of different TFs from a variety of subjects. You actually might have found this account from said Octransfur stories from last year. Some of these are even dedicated to certain people, and I'll mention them as I post the stories. Hey, everyone! This will be a general update relating to my Octransfur stories, other things I'm writing, and some general thank-yous.

After much deliberation, I have decided to cancel the rest of Octransfur. That doesn't mean every single story will be cut, but missing yesterday really put a hamper on my confidence if I'm finishing this. Besides, I was already feeling a bit of fatigue writing stories every single day, anyway. Now, having said all that, some stories that I have from the initial planning stages will still be written, but they will be just standard one-shots.

But quitting Octransfur doesn't mean I won't have a schedule. In fact, I decided on something: stories will be posted to this account every week! Typically, on Saturdays, new stories, TF or otherwise, will be uploaded. Some stories will be posted in the middle of the week if the situation calls for it, but you can rely on a new story being squirted out on Saturdays from now on (or at least until the next announcement when I might change this rule).

I'm actually starting this new schedule attempt off with a new TF series! Yes, a whole series with a cast of characters and an ongoing plot! This Saturday, get comfy with Doctor Aspen, a self-proclaimed Pokemon doctor traveling around the world, helping Trainers and studying different species, whether they want to or not! This is a story that I really wanted to write, but Octransfur got in the way. But now that it's cancelled, I can finally write it! Hooray, am I right?

Lastly, I wanted to celebrate everyone who has followed me since Octransfur started. While I do feel burnt out with the stories of Octransfur, I do really like how some of the stories turned out (particularly "So Happy" and "For the Rest of Slime").
