Patreon!
Posted 6 years agoIn hindsight, I could have picked a better date, but regardless…
My Patreon is now officially online!
>>Check it out over here!<<
It´s still pretty bare-bones as of now, as I intend to use it mostly as a virtual tip jar for those who wish to support my personal projects in exchange for previews of works in progress, commission discounts and other little art-related goodies.
However, I´m definitely going to add more options further down the road, should the demand for it arise.
What about you guys - are there any particular tiers or rewards that you would love to see in the future?
I´m open for suggestions, so if there is anything that would make you consider pledging and isn´t available as of now, feel free to let me know!
1000 Watchers!
Posted 7 years agoSo this is a thing that happened.
I must admit that I have nothing special planned for the occasion, but I still feel like this should probably be seen as a reminder that there is at least a certain demand for the kind of content I post.
Plus, it´s probably a nice little excuse to take this whole art thing a little bit more seriously, and perhaps try out a bunch of new things...
What about you guys, are there any questions, suggestions or just random comments you´d like to throw at me?
If so, feel free to share them - I´m always happy to hear someone´s opinion or satisfy their curiosity.
To all whom it may concern...
Posted 7 years agoI have a Twitter, so if you just so happen to be more active on that particular platform, feel free to follow me there.
Commission Update!
Posted 7 years agoHello everyone - I hope you are all having an excellent time!
Now, first of all, I´d like to apologise to everyone who contacted me about commissions over the course of the past few weeks and has been staved off until now.
I can´t thank you guys enough for your patience.
For those of you who are still interested, I´ve finally managed to compile an updated commission sheet, which should be a lot more comprehensive than my somewhat cryptic old price list.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
Sketchdumps
Posted 8 years agoLittle question on the side: What is your opinion on Sketchdumps?
Personally, I love it when artists upload collections of unfinished work and doodles that they wouldn´t share otherwise, not least because I greatly enjoy the rough and unpolished style most of it is in.
Considering that I have a tendency to scribble a lot of practice sketches and random stuff that never makes it to a finished state, I was wondering whether I should start and make use of that scraps section in my gallery as something more than a mere dumping site for old art.
Perhaps, it could also serve as a good source of feedback on which ideas, characters and themes I should pursue in the future.
What do you guys think?

On Comic Formats...
Posted 9 years agoHey peeps!
Just out of curiosity, what do you guys think is the best way to present and read comics online?
Do you prefer single pages, or are you more fond of those oblong, vertically scrollable ones?
It´s that time of the year again...
Posted 9 years ago2016 is slowly but steadily drawing to a close, and, as every year, the folks over on Transfur are organizing a donation campaign to keep their site online for 2017, as well.
This time, the admins have decided to streamline and optimize their funding by getting an official Patreon account for supporters, so if you have the time and a few bucks to spare to keep one of the oldest and largest TF focused art sites out there up and running, feel free to have a look at it, and rest assured that your support would be highly appreciated.
Their Patreon page can be found here.
Also, as always when the topic of Transfur comes up, I can only recommend those of you that aren´t all that familiar with it yet to have a look at their extensive and well-sorted galleries, which feature a plethora of awesome art, including a bunch of talented artists that you will have trouble finding anywhere else, as well as a ton of old works that date back to the early days of the fandom and show the beginnings of some of the most admired and representative creators in the TF community.
If you have even just the slightest interest in transformation art, I can almost guarantee that you´re gonna love it!
Back again!
Posted 9 years agoBack from Lucca Comics con (which was awesome, by the way), and back to my drawing board - Now let´s get some of those ideas and commissions done, shall we? ^^
By the way, do you guys think I should post status updates more often?
I´m barely using the journal thing as it is, but I´m also not sure if people would be interested in hearing what I have to say...
Cheers! ^^
500 Watchers - and Future Plans
Posted 9 years agoHalf a thousand followers - that´s quite a number indeed.
Thanks to all of you who stuck around this long, and also a heartfelt welcome to everyone who just recently showed up - I sincerely hope that I will be able to satisfy your expectations!
Speaking of wich...
I´m a little unsure on what to do next. I have a bunch of half-baked ideas floating around in my head, but I´m still pondering wich ones could be worthwhile. Most of these have already been done before in some way or another, but that wouldn´t keep me from giving them a try, regardless. Thus, in the next few months, you could be looking forward to:
- transformables auctions: imagine a hybrid of an adoptable and a YCH. You get a human character, and get to choose what they turn into over the course of a sequence.
- random requests: a sequence in wich every step is picked at random from suggestions in the comments. If I were to do this, I would probably put a limit on the amount of limbs I´d allow, though. If you are curious why that is, just look at examples from other artists...
- challenge months: remember that cool 30-day monster girl challenge that was super popular with all sorts of artists a while back? perhaps I´ll do one of those. There are countless variants of it, after all.
- interactive content: should I find the time and motivation, I might also dabble in flash comics, simple choice- or story-driven games and such. Nothing too fancy, of course, but still a neat little suggestion to float...
These are just a few vague concepts, of course. I might do all of them one day, or I might do none.
What about you guys - what would you like to see? I´m always open for suggestions, so feel free to throw your ideas at me. You might be suprised what sticks!

Just in Case...
Posted 9 years agoBecause people have been asking, and because everyone seems to be making one of these posts as of late, here is a bunch of other places on the interwebs where I can be found, just in case something breaks again:
DeviantArt: http://hukeng.deviantart.com/
Tumblr: http://hukeng.tumblr.com/
Weasyl: http://www.weasyl.com/~hukeng
I have a bunch of other minor online presences as well, but the above are the ones I check (almost) daily, and thus best suited to contact me.
After the Crash
Posted 9 years agoWell, we are finally back online. I sincerely hope none of you guys lost too much content - for my own part, I´m just gonna reupload the few pieces that did not survive the wipe.
Whatever, this was not the first event of its kind, and it will definitely not have been the last. Back to business as usual, I´d say.
Up and away!
Posted 9 years agoOnce again I´m heading south, so don´t be surprised if you don´t see a lot of activity on my side for the next few days.
I´ll be back on the 28th, and am already pondering a few little ideas what to do next, so stay tuned!
End of the Year - Updates and News!
Posted 10 years agoThe clock is ticking relentlessly, 2016 approaches - time for some new year´s resolutions, and time for some random updates and infos I´ve been wanting to post for a while!
Commission Pricelist Updates:
- The discount on the fourth image of every sequence is removed. While it sounded like a neat idea on paper, I realized that it is rather clumsy and impractical in the field, and doesn´t really help to make sequences more attractive as an item.
- The price on coloured items is slightly lowered, going from 6€ to 4€ on A5-size illustrations and from 10€ to 8€ on A4s.
- "Greyscale" is being replaced by "Shaded", indicating that digitally shaded pieces don´t necessarily need to be grey, but can have any colour, as long as they stay monochromatic and include no flat coloured areas. A clarification of this is also being added to the commission info.
- The "Coloured" option is being added to comic pages, for a price of 12€.
Personal News
- I´ll be getting a new graphics tablet soon, as my old, trusty Trust is slowly but steadily falling apart and approaching deadness. I´m still gonna use it for as long as I can, but I expect it to kick the bucket any day now. It´s replacemet will be a Huion 1060, wich I´ve heard quite some good things about. It should arrive one of these days.
- I´ll be cleaning out my gallery a little. No worries, I´m not planning to throw things out, but a bunch of rougher, older submissions might end up in my scraps section, just to make the place look a little more fancy and representative of my current style and skill level.
- I also may or may not have a bunch of secret projects in mind wich I am not gonna go into further detail about right now...
That should cover pretty much everything on my side, unless I forgot countless extremely important things, as I often do.
A happy new year to all of you, and see you in 2016!
Hey... Do you guys like TF?
Posted 10 years agoIf so, you will probably be familiar with Transfur, the awesome TF-focused art site wich has been providing some great content to the community for pretty much eighteen years now, making it one of the oldest portals of it´s kind - consider that it has been around longer than both FA and DeviantArt!
To me, it was the first introduction to TF content I stumbled across online, and the place were I discovered a whole bunch of amazing artists that deeply inspired me and whose work I have been following ever since. I guess you could say it´s were I got "hooked" on TF, and I couldn´t be more thankful for it. Just this year, I started actively contributing to the site´s galleries, too.
So, why am I telling you this?
As every year, the site´s admins are currently collecting donations to keep it running, and to those of you who like the idea of supporting one of the oldest cosy little corners of the interwebs dedicated to all things TF, I can only recommend to contribute something - after all, crowdfunding works best when a lot of people give a little, rather than few having to give a lot.
Independently, I´d also generally recommend you check out the site´s galleries, if you haven´t already - there is a lot of great stuff there, including a few real hidden gems from a bunch of my favourite creators´ early work.
(Also, just as a little personal update, there will be some small changes to my commission policy and pricelist soon, so stay tuned if you are interested! ^^)
An Iversary!
Posted 10 years agoMy first year on FA is drawing to a close, and thus far, I must really say that it´s been a blast!
Thanks to everybody who has been enjoying my work and providing support and critique - I can´t stress enough how much I appreciate it. You people are what keeps me going, and seeing my humble contributions being so well-received truly fills me with determination.
So yeah, to another year of colourful oddities of all shapes and sizes!
Celebrating 300 Watchers - Coloured Sequence Special Offer!
Posted 10 years agoYay, another centennial! I feel like I am being way too enthusiastic about those...
Anyway, I´ve decided to thank you all by trying out something I´ve been pondering for a while now: Monthly special offers on commission items!
That´s right. Throughout the entire month of November,
Four-step coloured TF sequences are 54€ each!
Typical recent examples from my gallery would include this, this, this and this. However, don´t hesitate to present me with some far more crazy and unusual ideas - be they fluffy, scaly, cute or weird!
Feel free to send me a Note if you are interested.
Also, I´ll be using slots for the first time here - not because I expect to fill them all up at once, but because it makes me feel all professional and stuff. Should this little project be well-recieved, I might consider expanding on it in the future, with monthly themes and items being offered on a somewhat regular basis.
SLOTS
(1.)
yowza - Lizard/dragon lady TF (FINISHED)
(2.)
spikex99 - Metallic bug armor TF (FINISHED)

Commissions are open!
Posted 10 years ago!!!ATTENTION!!!
This price list is no longer valid! Here we go, officially opening commissions. Feel free to send me a note if you are interested or have any questions about it.
Pricelist
- Illustration DIN A5 base 12€, Shaded +2€, Color +4€;
- Illustration DIN A4 base 18€, Shaded +4€, Color +8€;
- Comic page 24€, Shaded +6€, Color +12€;
Note that "Shaded" doesn´t necessarily mean "grey" - digital shading can have any colour you wish, as long as the piece remains monochromatic.
Also, please mind that I may occasionally charge up to an additional 50% on particularly intricate pieces, such as illustrations involving very detailed backgrunds, multiple and/or complex characters, unusual and dynamic poses and perspective etc.
My Work
My illustration work will be focusing mainly on character art and miscellaneous design. In other words, I´ll draw pretty much everything as long as it´s interesting and fun. Don´t hesitate to let me know about your ideas, I always enjoy discussing and developing a project together with my commissioners!
Also, while I´m definitely not averse to NSFW content, I´ll try and keep most of my gallery family friendly. Still, I have no problems with subjects such as tasteful nudity, mature themes etc.
Payment
Once we have settled on a price, I expect to receive full payment in advance before starting to work on the commission. However, there is the the option to split payment on particularly large projects, such as lengthy comics etc. I will accept PayPal only, as it will offer you the option to select a currency to pay in - that way, you can easily complete the transaction regardless of your starting coin.
Legal Stuff
By contacting me for the purpose of requesting a service, you agree on having fully read and understood the statements below.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, I retain all image rights on any art I create, including the right to reproduce, publish, alter and build upon it, as well as it´s use in self-advertisement.
The previous statement does not apply to works derived from copyrighted content (characters, text bodies etc.) belonging to the entity that commissioned the artwork in question, the use of wich will then require explicit permission from the owner of said content.
Generally, I will avoid creating content derived from works belonging to third parties not involved in the creative process.
Translation into plain English:
If we don´t agree on anything else, I am free to use art I create however I see fit, unless it´s based on your OCs, stories etc. - then I´ll definitely ask for your permission first.
I generally don´t do fanarts, mainly for copyright reasons - but I´m usually OK with expys and "striking similarities" to existing characters.
And if you commission me, you should know all of this (>__O).
Alright, that should be covering everything. I´m looking forward to working with you guys!
200 watchers - and an announcement.
Posted 10 years agoI´d like to thank all of you guys for helping me reach another little milestone.
200 watchers, that´s quite a number - and it wouldn´t have been possible without the great support I have been getting thus far.
Also, I´m pondering to officially open commissions soon, so all of you who have been asking me about it or are otherwise interested should stay tuned for further updates.
Cheers!

Question on image formats.
Posted 10 years agoJust a question:
While browsing, I noticed a considerable amount of submissions that exceeded the site´s official upload format limitations of 1280x1280 pixels. I know that this is achieved by exploiting what I suppose to be a bug in the file reupload system. However, I don´t know if such action, albeit seemingly common, does in any way constitute an infringement of the site´s upload policy. I couldn´t find anything regarding the matter in the official statements on the subject, but the question remains whether uploading pictures that are larger than the official limit will get me in trouble with the administrators.
Should it be possible, I would occasionally utilize the option to upload submissions with unusual formats (such as longer sequences) in one file, without having the automatic resizing shrink them down too much. To me, it seems like a far more elegant method than having to split them up.
What are your experiences with this practice, and do you happen to have more reliable information about it?
I´m honestly curious.

Posted 10 years agoPretty much self-explanatory. Back from vacation and to my beloved drawing board.
Brb - In a few days...
Posted 10 years agoGoing on vacation, will be back in about ten days. Visiting some friends and family down south, the usual stuff.
If anyone wants to contact me during that time, feel free to do so - but consider that it might take some time for me to answer messages, as internets are a scarce resource in the picturesque backcountry I´m heading to...

100 Watchers!
Posted 10 years agoYay, another minor achievement!
Seeing that extra digit pop up really brightened up my day. What can I say? The sight of increasing numbers makes me happy.
By the way, I think that I will create a NG account some time soon, as well. I have always liked that site, and they have a pretty neat art portal...

Concerning commissions...
Posted 10 years agoI´ve been thinking.
Should I officially open commissions, or should I wait, perhaps gaining more watchers first, while I refine my technique and upgrade my hard- and software to better fit the task? Quite frankly, I am torn.
What do you guys think? I´m curious.
By the way, for those of you that are interested, I´m also on DA, that´s where I put some of my other stuff, just sayin´ (>__O) : http://hukeng.deviantart.com/

1000 views, what...?
Posted 11 years agoThis happened.
Wow. Just wow.
It´s not like I had any set goals regarding this, and I do realize that, globally speaking, it is not that much of an achievement, but it positively surprised me nonetheless.
Maybe I should do like others around here and go for some more precise objectives. Perhaps, trying to reach those 100 watchers next? It would certainly be a possibility...
Or perhaps I should just go and make myself an ironed ham, cheese and ketchup sandwich.
Priorities are hard.
