Was erwartet euch also nächstes Jahr? Nun, wie schon im letzten Jahr werde ich die Weihnachtspause dafür nutzen, einen neune Zeichenstil für den Comic auszuprobieren. Alright ladies and gentlemen :D

A year ago to the day I posted this comic with a little fox named Freddy and his owner Simon

46 comic strips and a year later “Simon and Freddy” can celebrate their first anniversary :D

It’s funny to look back… “Simon and Freddy” was already the third version of my webcomic.
Everything started with the idea to make a webcomic. Back then I called it “Forest Friends”. It was a story of two friends, Freddy the fox and Alex the Border Collie.
A lot of characters who appeared later in “Simon and Freddy” were already part of the cast like Beatrice the Australian flying fox and the Squirrel brothers Simon and Sheldon… Yeah, Sammys name was Simon back then
I never published the comic because I wasn’t really satisfied with the final product… So I decided to restart the comic. It was still called “Forrest Friends” but this time the protagonist was Alex. Freddy was just a side character.
The story was more about finding the right path in life and also had some dramatic and also crazy moments. Here I decided to turn Simon and Sheldon into two maniac power hungry squirrels… and this was also the birth of Simon as a human (because they built a machine who turned Simon into a human… but still evil )
And again I wasn’t satisfied with the whole thing… so I decided to take a third run… and this time with a new name: “Simon and Freddy”. Again with Freddy as protagonist and now also with a human owner: Simon. The evil squirrel turned into a good human :D (and so this was the birth of Sammy)
After I finished some comic strips I finally decided to publish the comic on the world wide web.
On the 25th of August 2013 I posted the very first “Simon and Freddy” comic strip on the Housepets!-forum. After a while I decided to post the comic also on deviantArt, FurAffinity and Weasyl.

Now after a year I’d like to go back to the beginning… so here’s a remaster of the very first comic strip :D (I think Freddy aged well )

I want to thank SwedishWolf who build the webpage and did things I didn’t even dare to dream. (release veeeeery soon )
Big Thanks go to Obbl who has done a fantastic job with editing and counterchecking since the beginning of this comic. Without him you all would have had to deal with my mediocre English.
I also want to thank who’s providing the Italian translation of all the comic strips. Mille Grazie mio amico! Also big thanks to zdflion96 who’s translating “Simon and Freddy” into the Spanish language.
Then I want to thank who’s helping me with great background information, co-writing and providing the Australian accent for Beatrice.
And I want to thank . He always has a friendly ear for me and he’s always on the spot to give me good advices. Thank you very much for that, my friend! :D
And last but not least I want to thank ALL OF YOU. Really, you guys are great!

I met so many nice people here and so I must say this comic also really enriched myself with so many great experiences and new people I didn’t know before.

Alright, here is one of my rare journals.

From May 17th till July 7th I’m going to Canada and USA! I’m really looking forward to this trip!

Unfortunately I won’t be able to draw anything during this time…

Does this mean 7 weeks without Simon & Freddy? Absolutely not!

I drew some comic-strips in advance but I have to lower the update rate. So there will be a comic Saturday and an artwork Saturday. (So no artwork Wednesday in the next seven weeks).
If somebody wants to submit an artwork or even a guest comic that would be highly appreciated! (Then we could keep the artwork Wednesday )

Vom 17. Mai bis 7. Juli bin ich in Kandada und USA. Ich freue mich schon tierisch auf diese Reise!

Leider werde ich während dieser Zeit keine Möglichkeit haben zu zeichnen...

Heisst das jetzt 7 Wochen ohne Simon & Freddy? Überhaupt nicht!

Ich habe ein paar Comic-strips im Voraus gezeichnet, aber ich muss leider die Update-Rate senken. Es gibt also jetzt jeden zweiten Samstag ein Comic-update und jeden anderen Samstag ein Artwork-update (also leider kein Artwork-Mittwoch mehr in den nächsten sieben Wochen)

Wenn jemand jetzt allerding Artworks oder sogar einen Gast-comic einreichen möchte, wäre das natürlich höchst willkommen! (Dann gäbe es auch eine Artwork-Mittwoch )

Hello everyone.

Time to write a first journal ;)

Alright, as you can see, each sunday (or sometimes saturday) there is an update of Freddy & Simon. Well, my native language is German so all my comic-strips originally were written in German.
Now I decided to upload them here on FA too. So if German is also your native language or you want to improve your German, please feel free to read Simon & Freddy in Deutsch :D
First i'll upload No 1 - 12. As from next week on, I'll upload the English and the German version simultaneously. :)
