Well, since this has been all over the news for the past month or so, I feel the need to share my thoughts on the zimmerman trial. As someone who worked in law for 10 years, I took immediate interest in this case fri m the start. I was interested in what the outcome would be and I was not surprised. Personally I believe that the verdict was a good. From watching the case I already knew that zimmerman had acted in self defence. What angers me is the reaction from the american public who claim that the act was racially motivatd and that martin was innocent. While we will never truly know the whole story, the circumstances as to when where and why martin was out and about is suspicious. Did zimmerman take thing too far by confronting martin? Probably. As neighborhood watch watch you are to observe only and report your observations to the police. Did zimmerman escalte the situation to deadly force? No martin did that when he began to slam zimmermans head against the pavement. Keep in mind that a person does not have to be armed with a weapon to be able to ise deadly force. Slamming someone's head against the pavement like martin did can cause fatal injuries. Zimmerman was obviously in fear for his life and did what he felt was necessary to save his life. Many states have laws in place that allow citizens to defend themselves and their property. It is simple martin was using deadly force against zimmerman.
Throught the trial, expert testimonies, evidence and character testimonies all supported zimmerman and gave the prosecution very little to stand on. I am happy that the jury was fair and impartial and did not let theirpersonal feelings get in the way of making their decision . They looked at the fact and evidence and the law and made their decision based on those factors lead to a not guilty finding.
Is what happened sad? Yes it is. No parent should have to endure the loss of a son or daughter. That being said I do feel that justice has been properly served.

You can say what ever you but persoanlly I don't care. I look at the facts and the evidence all of which pointed to zimmerman doing what he had to do to save his life.

Ok so I've seen a lot of these journals posted and they seem to get results so I figured I'd post one too. So I've been mismanaging my money spending everything I have on art commissions and going to every con that I can. Apparently I have bills that need to be paid and I need money. So, I have decided to sell my partial fursuit. Anyone have ideas as to where the best place to post it would be? Been thinking eBay, Craigslist, or furbuy. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone is interested, note me for details.

Most of you by now are aware of the tragic passing of two members of the community. I would like to take this time to first send my condolences to their friends and family. I would also like to take this time and remind everyone not to take those around you for ranted. Whether it be a friend, family member, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, never forget to let that person know how much you appreciate them. For as we have seen you never when that person could be taken out of your life. If you have a friend you haven't spent time with in a while, call them up day hey maybe go hang out. If you you haven't spent time with you family lately, get together with them. When was the last time you told your significant other that you loved them? Go tell them that you you love them and if its been a while since you've spend time with that person take a day just for you and that person. Also remember never go to bed angry with those you love and care about. Always forgive them. For again as we have seen you never know when that person will be taken from your life.

A lot has changed with the furry fandom since I became an active member. The question here though is the change good or bad? Personally I think its bad. When I first joined it was a fun little group to be with. In the past two years however it seems that the fandom is on a rapid downward spiral and a majority of its members are to blame. It seems anymore that the mentality of the fandom is that of a five year old. I feel as though I'm back in middle school. Many of the members now want everything given to them and pitch a fit is they don't go their way. I once had someone tell me at a meet that they hated me because I have an expensive car. Well my responce was for him to get off his ass and get gainful employment. All to often I see journals from people asking for money to help pay rent and bills, yet when it comes time for a con they have no trouble coming up with the funds to go. If you can't pay bills and rent because you're saving for a con then maybe you need to think about your priorities.
When it comes to social activities I have seen a degrade here as well. It seems that now it is a requirement to have some sort of mental disorder to be part of the fandom. Anymore you see people acting inappropriately at a meet or a con and they blame their actions on a "mental disorder". While granted that is the case in a few situations, most of the time it is an excuse.
Did you know that assault is define as any unwanted touch? One of the things I hate about cons is the fact that people now think that they can just cone up to you and scritch and hug and snuggled you when your in suit. This is really inappropriate when you really don't know the person. One person found this out at AC10 when I almost broke his hand for groping me. So yeah touch me at a con and I will press charges. Also even if you know the person and they are mated, their mate may not think highly of you feeling up their significant other. And speaking of mates and relationships, there seem to be a lack of respect for peoples relationships. It seems that I have had to deal with that multiple time the past couple years. Please be respectful and I you can't get a made of your own don't try to get into other people's relationships.
To me the fandom isn't fun to be a part of anymore. The last con I went to sucked all around due to the people. This fandom needs to grow up......a lot. I recently read something were someone was complaining that many of the good artist that drew furry art aren't drawing anymore. There is actually a reason. Many of those artist have said they were sick of people giving them a hard time and be general douchbags towards them.
All I can say is that the fandom has changed for the worst and I for one no longer want anything to do with it.
