Posted 12 years agoIt has been.. I don't even know how long since I wrote a journal here on FA - apparently my last one was around a year ago, which is mad!
I'm still alive, just busy as hell! There is, I promise (probably) some art lurking in the unfinished folder - some collabs, some commissions, some personal pieces, and I'm hoping to knock them out soon. Even though I haven't been posting much, I've still been working on art, usually shit like colour practice, composition and style, doodles - I still love to experiment yo!
SO HERE'S THE SKINNY. I'm going to MFF, whaaaat! Along with
. It's our first visit to the US, and we're STOKED!! I'm fully excited to meet so many people I've known for fucking years, and hang out again with some really good old friends - you know who you are. We're hitting up MFF, then spending another 5 days or so (including thanksgiving - I'm British this is A BIG DEAL TO ME) in NY!
I have so much to try and do in so little time, but it's gonna be rad! If you see me at MFF, feel free to give me a shout, I'll be the guy wearing the 'HUSH' badges. OFC. Skate stuff and flat peak hats is another giveaway. I don't have a dealer table or anything at MFF this year - I'm more about enjoying the con and meeting up! If you're proper interested in something from me though, we'll see what happens.
So yeah, I'm stoked for my first US visit, and hopefully I'll get a chance to meet some people I've been meaning to for years. Big thanks to everyone who still supports my art and stuff - watches, faves, comments, it's never overlooked!

I'M ALIVE! FINALLY, AN UPDATE.
Posted 13 years agoSo I know it's been almost half a year since my last journal update - I've literally been working crazy hard on university work since I was in my final year. Recently, I handed in my Final Major Project Portfolio and gave my final presentation, which means I'm now done with University! I have my Graduation day and a Gallery show in July, but that's all that's left - no more work! I can't even begin to explain the HUGE weight it's lifted from me. Since finishing, I've just been sorting out everything I had to put on hold because of my work.. Including lots of work on my car, man I've missed having time to do that!
This HOPEFULLY means that slowly but surely I'll start getting back into the swing of cracking out some art and bringing my gallery back to life! There are one or two outstanding commissions which I hope to have done after CF (end of the month-ish), and after that there might even be a chance of some commissions! Woooah! I don't have any plans for them yet though, so just wait and see ;D
I'll be at ConFuzzled this year, hopefully with one or two pieces in the art show, so if you're going, be sure to check it out if you're interested! I don't have a dealers table this year, for the first time in years at any con. I wanna spend more time hanging out with people and enjoying the con, however, if you're interested in a Natural Paper badge commission or something similar, feel free to ask, I might just squeeze something in for you ;D WAHEY, but no promises! On a note unrelated to art, I'll also have my Silvia S14 at the CF Motor Meet to, so if you're going, feel free to come say hi. ;]
Keep an eye on submissions, there might be some fresh Hush art soon!

Sabbatical

I wanted to post up a journal about this so that you're not entirely in the dark. Over the past few months (possibly longer) I haven't really been posting much. I just haven't been feeling art.. or very rarely feeling it anyway. I have no inspiration, no feeling and no real time for it, and when I do get round to it, I feel like I'm scraping; like I'm forcing it out, which I'm sure you can imagine isn't any good. I also feel that anything I do draw is utter shit and I spend hours and hours endlessly glaring at the screen, trying desperately to make my brain communicate what I'm seeing in my head to my hands, but it doesn't come out right, and all I end up with is a headache.
I'm gonna have a little break from artwork - at least most artwork or anything much that's postworthy. I need a bit of time to rebuild the drive I used to have. Not only this, but I'm going into my final year of university in a couple of weeks, and I'm really gonna need to work hard on that. I feel like I need to forget that I'm an 'artist' and just do other things for a while, hopefully rebuild some inspiration. If I don't think about it, maybe it won't wear me down so much. I know drawing through it can help, but I think in this case I need to just stop for a while. I'll always have my sketchbook for doodles, and who knows - maybe I'll come back better off.
Any commissions I owe will be done as they should be in good time - I'll work on them when I can and give them my best. I know I don't post a load of art anyway, but I thought this was better than just disappearing!
Thanks to everyone who supports my art by commenting, faving and watching - I'll still be checking FA when I can. Hopefully, sometime down the line, there'll be some fresh stuff. This isn't me quitting, this is just a needed break!

If you think they're too high, buy a badge from someone else, there's a lot of artists on FA - simple. COMMENT ONLY IF YOU WANT A BADGE. Anyone commenting on price will have their comment hidden and be blocked. Seriously, why waste your time when I don't give a shit? I work 5-7 hours on each badge and charge accordingly which I personally think is fair. Your spam makes the confirmations harder to find. Don't ruin it for other people who actually WANT a badge. I haven't had time for much art (pretty evident from my gallery), but I'm hoping over the next few months I'll get into it some more again (CHANGE THE RECORD). I've been way too busy to draw much at the moment, and when I have had time, I've had issues with feeling reaaaally shitty about my artwork, which doesn't really make me THAT productive!
I'm gonna be going to Confuzzled and Eurofurence this year though, hopefully with some goodies to flog, so if you see me at my table, or selling some art in the art show, come and spend your money on me - then I can have it!

I'm just whipping up a quick journal to keep you guys posted on my situation regarding art and commissions. University this year has been INSANE, and I've been left with pretty much no time at all to draw for ages, which is probably pretty apparent from my gallery! I don't hate drawing or anything, I just don't have time haha! I'm even gonna be working while I'm back at my family's place over Christmas - SUCKAGEEE.
As far as commissions go, I think you can tell I'm not gonna be taking them for a fair whileeee. After about 8 months of nothing digital from me, I've finally got my art setup sorted and a proper workspace! I've decided to open for 3 digital badge commissions first of all, to get me going ready for some bigger stuff. These badges will be whatever style comes out as I do them - here are some examples:

Last night it came to my attention that I'd hit 100k pageviews! That's like.. a LOT! The lack of recent art makes me feel like it was a bit undeserved, but I'm stoked that people are still coming to look at my work!
I've never done a kiriban thing before, but as soon as my workspace is sorted out, expect something 100k related, and probably filthy ;D Hopefully, soon enough, there'll be a lot more following that too! So thanks to all my watchers, and thanks for faving and checking out my art! ;]

for real! I'm currently trying to sort out a new workspace, but after that, I should be back up and punching out the art (hopefully). For those of you noting me, or thinking of nothing me, I'm not open for commissions right now and won't be when I get my workspace up, waaay too much going on right now. I'll probably be a bit rusty at full colouring and stuff as the only thing I've been doing over the past 3-4 months are sketches! :F
Also, no EF for me this year for a load of reasons, which sucksss! But yeah, more soon yo.

Posted 15 years agoSo, over the past 3-4 months I've been pretty inactive on here, and pretty much any furry-related stuff really, so I thought I'd throw out a little update to tell you guys I'm not dead or anything!
A few weeks back I finished my first year of Uni, which was a HUGE relief, I passed all my units with real good grades, so I'm all good for the second year too, but fuuuuck it was a balls load of work - especially the last unit! But that's all done now, and I've been busy with all my other stuff since I've been off, and just chilling, enjoying the feeling of not having to do a ton of work ;D
Apart from that, It's just been the usual out with friends, skating, saving the world and all the other stuff I get up to, but I recently sold my GTI-6 (those of you who know me personally will know how much I loved that car, so you'll know how much of a big deal it was!) and bought myself a white RX-7, which is AMAZING. I've been out working on that and playing around with it for a while, but the gamble I took selling my GTI-6 paid off!
As far as art goes, As soon as my proper work space is sorted out, I should be getting back into it. I have a few small commissions to do, which should be completed soon. After that though, I'm really trying hard to get to EF, so I might whip up an auction to help pay towards it - what sort of thing the auction will include is still being decided, so keep a look out ;D

Unfortunately, I won't be having a table or anything at the con, but there might be something in the art show of mine, if it gets finished in time, so keep an eye out ;] University has been keeping me ridiculously busy, so I couldn't prepare anything! If I can sneak onto a table I might be able to sell a badge or two.
Sods law, I woke up this morning feeling rough as hell, but I've been getting slightly better throughout the day, so hopefully I'll be all good for tomorrow/weekend! Been sessioning the tablets haha. Got a load to get sorted before tomorrow, but I'm sure I can get shit sorted in time.. maybe. :I
I heard something about a motor-meet up there, and since I'll be taking the GTI-6, if I remember, I'll have to pop over to that too. Just bought another set of savage looking track rims too!
So to anyone who's going, see you there!

Thanks to everyone who bought a CD, me and hope you enjoy them! I also hope you appreciate them because having to lick jillions of stamps kinda sucked, but after a while they kind of tasted like apple :I I'm sure they do self adhesive ones.. just maybe not on international stamps :[

that's right, I've whacked up an auction for a Custom canvas design on a 24x30cm deep box canvas I found spare. Since I'm stuck away from my place, I thought I'd make use of it ;D That and I just spunked a load of money on my car, and any spare dosh is a plus!
It's starting super cheap at 5 bucks, with no reserve, so drop some bids if you fancy it! I'm not going to be doing these customs for a while, so grab yourself one -There's a load more info on the auction itself, so go check it out!

SOUPDATE!
Posted 16 years agoit's just an update really, I just thought SOUPDATE was clever.
So anyway - I've got my hand-in for my portfolio at uni on Monday, which means I'm pretty much gonna be working solid again this weekend, but it also means, that afterwards I might actually have some time to get some shit done! So there might be some art up here soon, woahhhh! Sometime, over the next few months (how vague am I!?) I should be putting up a commission auction - so anyone who's after one, keep an eye out.. for a while.
We've had about 2 weeks worth of snow here, but I think it's finally starting to ease up. There was tons of messing around in the snow when it was all new and exciting, but then it just became a pain in the ass, especially because the tools here didn't have enough grit to keep roads clear. It's been kinda cool, but freeeezing! Me and had an awesome New years up at 
's place, with Tre, Spunky, Zen, Ice, Za, Funky, Muzz, Turbo and everyone else, it was mega! We had a mad time staying over at 
's place too during our time off after new years, so thanks to all you guys c;
I'm gonna be booking my ticket for EF this year with when registration opens up, and it's gonna be siiiick ;D For those who asked, I'm not going to FC this year, but AC is a maybe if I can pony up the dough!
That's pretty much it for now, thanks to all my new and existing watchers - over 7k now, woah! I'll have to post something decent to keep you entertained! Hope you all had a mega new year ;]
