Just what it says on the tin. FC's kinda lagging behind in comparison to the fun I have in other conventions. So I'd really like to know of the people who's all going. Get a sort of mental tally and better judge whether or not I wanna cut FC from my early con roster.

1) The Artists you love and follow. They've been out of work for a week, and posting dozens of said journals will flood out their commission/stream/auction journals they need to make this month's rent.

2) We were all here for it. You're preaching to the choir in a journal simply to say how you're fed up with FA and it's irresponsibility to it's users.

3) If you have decided once and for all to leave FA. Don't do it immediately. At the very least, Let people artists who still depend on FA to make their living to get things settled. Start building your portfolio on another site, and quit FA at a later date when your fans have had a chance to transition as well.


Best thing to keep in mind is that we're -all- already aware of how much FA sucks these days and how bad it's top level staff are doing with it. We all know just as well as you do. But there are many, -MANY- artists here who cannot afford to cut ties with it. Their fanbase is centered on this website, and they rely on said fanbase and commissions in order to make their living. To simply cut ties all together would be suicide.
And filling out everyone's inboxes with dozens of "FA sucks and I'm leaving forever" journals does little more than further hinder those artists, who have already been dead in the water with FA's week long downtime.

We know you hate FA, But please be respectful to those who can't -afford- to leave FA like you want to.

I've heard it a lot, and of course asked myself the question upon seeing no birds or reptiles. But during a debate of the movie afterward I came to the conclusion.

Birds, Lizards, Aquatic mammals and whatnot would not have fit with the clear-cut predator/prey distinction of the movie.

They are creatures which vary wildly between being Carnivore, Herbivore, and Omnivore, and would have muddled the overall tone of the movie had they been included.
If you see a tiger, wolf bear or even an otter and know anything about them, you can automatically link them with being predatory. They eat other living creatures to survive.
Likewise look at a goat, elephant, rabbit, or rodent. stereotypically these creatures eat foliage, vegetables and fruits. They do not survive off living flesh.

Now take a bird. There are those clearly on one side. A canary eats seeds and fruit, a vulture would eat flesh or carrion. But what of a crow? They're omnivores that eat anything available to them.

Bearded dragons eat both insect and green foliage.

Most aquatic living creatures are primarily predatory, yes. But their exclusion may be chalked up simply to being non-bipedal.

Basically. The movie's plot demanded that it's cast have a clear cut dichotomy between Predator and Prey in order to work. To have even a background character break that wall would have led to "But what about that guy?" questions, and lessened the overall impact of the story's lesson.

As popular as the movie has been, I've little doubt there will be a series made of it or additional movies. Ones in which we may yet see our favorite animal types. But for the specific story of this version, they would not have fit.

I'll be staying at the Fairmont, Just a block away from the convention itself. I have a double bed room so I am open to roommates. However I won't be inclined to take people I'm not already familiar with. I also do not allow smoking or heavy drinking. I have my room for Jan 13-18.


I'll also be bringing a good handful of card games! One of which being the filled Bigger Blacker Box. With it came a large surplus of blank Black and White cards, so I'm looking for suggestions of what to write on them!

Keep in mind this set is used outside of conventions with Non-fur types, so keep that in mind with your suggestions please. :V

It's been a few hours since I finished it all the way through, and I'm still in afterglow of it. I have nothing to compare this game to, and not just the game but the story it lays out for you to find your way through.

It's been a long, long time since a game made me feel this good. I let myself get fully immersed in it's story and the only bittersweet regret is that it had to end, but did so on the best of notes.

It's a game like games should be. It wasn't one where I was constantly told that I needed to go forward, I was left wanting to go forward myself. The characters lovable, The humor grand, and the gameplay itself a reminiscent of beloved games of old, with twists that make it like nothing I've seen done before.

Worked fine for me just now. There's also some fixes for moving aside the new sidebar. But at the very least helps get rid of the new ads, keeping the artist-paid ones.

I've noticed recently that my typing has gotten weird, "Sports" will sometimes become "Spoyrts" and many times my words become double spaced like this. All for no reason. I am sure I'm not double tapping, or hitting extra keys.

I am torn between the idea I might've picked up a bug, or perhaps my keyboard is failing somehow. The first option is more likely and potentially less expensive.

What all scanners do you lot use to keep your PCs clean? Or better yet, what'd you use if you had a problem similar to mine?

Something I've been thinking about for a while. When I look for someone to commission I make a point to look at what the artist has done, using their history as a measure of how effectively they could pull off the idea I have in mind. I'd be weary to ask someone who's never drawn an avian OR macro content to draw one with a worms-eye view. Even with this screening I've even come across artists whom inquired, and they were conscious enough of their ability to decline for lack of believe they could do my idea justice.

That said, The idea I've had is using a website in which commissioners post their idea(s) along with relevant references, and a list of appropriate tags. Exactly like posting a picture, description, and tags here on FA.
However in this situation it's the opposite. Commissioners post their ideas, artists looking for work can look through them, filtered by content and tags. Finding the idea(s) which best spark their interest, and thus instinctual desire to work on that drawing. From there it's a simple fact of giving the person a private quote on the work.

Any thoughts on if such a thing would work? Would it be too much a hassle? Or perhaps too much work for most artists whom are used to and comfortable with people coming to them.

As a Supersponser, I got the early access to rooms and the Marriott was the first one I could snag. As such I'm opening for roommates to save some people the hassle of flood that'll come when the rooms all open publicly.
I'm gonna be a little picky here, aiming for people I know a little better, and also giving some priority to suiters and workers for the Dealers Den or Artist's Ally.

As far as I know I haven't taken any roomates for FC in the coming year. I've a two double reserved. I won't tolerate smoking nor heavy drinking, and expect roomates to pick up after themselves.

Also I am -desperately- looking for a Lucario Amiibo. I didn't realize they were exclusive until their reserves had been sold entirely. In the off chance someone will have an extra, or plans to sell theirs, I am looking.

While most of my attention is currently on WoW, I will eventually go back in to the farmfest that is Fantasy Life, especially if I have someone to play with. Though I am not fully leveled in anything, yet.

My primary concern is this, Who has a fuzzbutt friendly guild on Horde side? Mine, which was a low number guild to start and did most of it's endgame through LFR. Seems to have outright died completely during the wait for WoD. Many of the regulars either have yet to come back, don't plan on coming back, or started their own guild during the wait period.

If this doesn't get back in to gear soon as more people begin hitting 100 and start progression, I'd like to have something to fall back on, Much as I love my Warcraft there's no real point to play beyond Lv100 without friends.

I'm a veteran since vanilla and main a Deathknight Tank, experienced at being MT for many previous contents. I've also an enhancement/resto shaman on the side. Minosttratos and Nimbonya respectively, Trollbane server.

Something  sofia.exe has been running now. Certainly one survey who's knowledge could be of use for us, put a better perspective on prices that Artists charge and Commissioners assume. It's short, can be done in a scant few minutes.

And if it helps one artist from underpricing, or one commissioner from being overcharged. I say the whole thing is worth it.

Something I've been debating for a while is setting Ian up. With the nature of crows making them physically weak Ian relies on his knowledge, speech, and pseudo-hypnotic voice. I figure it'd be a nice contrast having someone who is physically superior by nature, such a hawk, gator, lion...

Or a rattlesnake.


In stark contrast to my reputation, I find myself leaning heavily towards finding some type of snake. This would be a character that, as stated before, would easily outclass Ian physically. But still be susceptible and willing to submit to his compelling charm. Allowing plenty of room for playful rivalry as the two take advantage of each weakness. An act that is encouraged given each character enjoys the others strength. Her falling for his voice, him weak against her strength (Figuratively and virtually.)

I'm still in debate of what species of snake to use. I'm leaning towards a rattlesnake, but I wanted to avoid venomous snakes. Hooded snakes are also interesting, but I'm having difficulty finding ones that also use rattle tails. On top of all that I'm looking for one indigenous to the south/southeast US, copying that Ian is based off the American Crow from the same region.

Finally I had the idea of making the snake entirely limbless. Already decided she'd be a legless naga type. But what if she were armless as well, basically a huge, intelligent feral bodied snake. Instead using a set of wearable android arms. Something that could be strapped around her upper 'body' to mimic the look of shoulders and arms, becoming functional via reading nerve connections similar to modern non-surgical prosthesis.
Edit: "Imagine how you look wearing a normal backpack. Then take your arms from the shoulders down and the backpack. That'd be the prosthesis unit."

Any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?
