Guess I'm back.
Nuked all stuffs cause well...I had thousands of stuff to shift through and I didn't want that.
I'll be getting back to music soon.
Updates since last time:

Got new instruments which I am currently learning.
Practice a whole lot more.
Annnnd I'm more comfortable with recording.
So that's all good.

I accidentally left FA again...
I don't know what I'll be doing on here in the future, I'm kinda trying to work Out what to do with myself. I had decided to give up video games for lent and now I feel like giving them up entirely. I am also fasting, it was hard at first but not anymore. I really need to figure out what to do...both now to keep me busy and after high school but really I need to think of the now because the future will be all right, at least, until I get there. I think I should get a hobby. And yes even though playing music is a hobby, I don't get a lot of fulfillment in it often. Though we did put on an awesome concert last afternoon. Well have fun all! See you around.

so yesterday i won an iPad from the school!
isn't that neat? and furthermore my neighbor after seeing it decided to make me a case. (my neighbor is a seamstress) and so it was cool :D i'm quite ecstatic. I'm even thinking of buying garageband on it xD (and though I'm not sure how it works, you can do scoring on.) so maybe i may return to music?
though i'm not sure if i should buy it xD i already bought two books for it. (KJ bible, and a book on a saint whose name i dare not try to spell, though she was the first indigenous north american to be canonized) and that was a total of 3.99 of the 25 dollar gift card my brother gave me for LOTRO. so far i have a few games, 5 books (3 were free) and an app called itunes U, which is free university/schooling programs. well i hope you all are having such a good week as I! have a nice day :)

i'm gonna learn the straight version of it; being the harmonica playing straight notes that go with the lyrics, then i have the accompianment to it :)
im gonna post here, you guys can use it too if you like. i plan on asking our youth group about whether or not we can play it xD i really hope we can, sounds like fun!

well hello!
so i haven't finished a painting in a while. (doing that...commission? of sorts?) and i really need to get back into writing...so what do i do? learn the harmonica...it's harder than i expected to be honest! but anyway. got me in the mood to write some blues. like that 16-bar rhodesiansax requested. but to be honest...locrian is hard lol. i may just give in and go dorian, or Ionian. either way i hope to do that before i go back to school. it's exam time so i only have school on my exams days...and i only have two. so YAY! first one is tomorrow and then i have the last one on wednesday =) so either after then or on tuesday i'll get down to er. xD

i must say my day was good. i found a gregorian chant form of the parts of the mass. made me happy. theres also lots of latin on it. i don't know where it's from but it's cool and made my day.
but i think i've changed a lot in the past year. i could list it all out but it really doesn't matter too much :)

i need some advice...

I'm really worried for his safety. his mom is being verbally abusive on more than one occasion and im worried that she'll keep to her threats. He's been told by myself, and a couple other friends to talk to an adult about it but he thinks he's being over dramatic. when i said that someone should do it he vehemently said no. Im worried about him but im not sure what to do ):
right now im just keeping his mind off the subject. but i think something should be done still.

i like ti here more than on DA. DA i like used to talk to real life friends, and here hardly any of my real life friends now of. Some don't even know FA exists. which is good. i like to have a gettaway.
i got two new games; Twilight Princess (I FINALLY GET TO PLAY IT :'D after all these years of wal-mart having it at 60 bucks it went down to 20 :'D ) and then i got Mortal Kombat Vs. DC universe. i obviously went DC universe to start xD. it's and aggravating game =P but i just kept clutching my cross in frustration xD better than losing my temper no?

taught someone the four chord progression. because they were down on themselves for not being good at the guitar. and yay! they're happier now :)

so im doing a 16 bar in locrian mode. and i decided to see how progression sounded.
definately not happy xD
but what i did find was its so dark heavy and powerful! and i can make it happier....somehow.but the point is i decided to add a sub dominate bass pedal tone. and MAAAAAAAAAAN. that shit is awesome
it sounds like an epic final game boss battle and it was so. INVIGORATING. gonna have to make a piano song doing that. though maybe that'll be 12 bar xD 16 bar is interesting to say the least...but man...i feel so invigorated. so awesomely invigorated. so excited. i would get on the clarinet quartet but i don't know how to compose for a quartet xD but anyway. thats all! xD

RECORDING TIME!
and just for fun, ima make it themed! some may be fine with the theme others not so much, (we'll call last weeks "jazz" with a bonus song; movie themed) so this weeks theme is hymns.
the number of songs to be recorded will be maybe 2-4? some of the hymns are cool so don't not listen just cause it's church music! xD
the only one im sure im gonna do is lord of the dance, cause im playing it at our schools Christmas variety show, and it'll be more practice. and yeah...Lord of the dance is fun and upbeat and stuff.
in other news. i have the opportunity to go see the muppets with my youth group but i can go, cause my mom wants me to play with the choir on saturday. i'd be playing the drums and i really don't like doing that. it just doesn't sound right to me in our church. it doesn't suite the new hymns well either. oh you reformation! xD
anyway im gonna do something. research maybe? conduct an experiment of sorts? Compose? practice? i'm not sure...but i'll see ya later.

i decided on a song to play in the summer i think...
it's Saxophone Concerto Op. 109 by Aleksandr Glasunov.
im very excited to try it actually.
it looks kinda difficult but not too bad. if i find it too easy by january i'll search for another piece however. im still feeling down about that recording....i seriously CAN play better than that i just think it might've been nerves over it being the first time recording. i may record some jazz later when my nerves die off.
the concerto should show my playing off well enough though.
in like may when i have it mastered i'll record it. till then i'll record my pleasure pieces like blue monk, blue bossa, or other classical pieces/ jazz pieces. i think im gonna just focus on the sax. it's what i enjoy playing, well when it's something challenging and fun. totally gonna have to redo he's a pirate...i'll do that after church...
when at camp i probably won't play the whole 13 minute concerto. just an excerpt. just curious, whats the max time limit to a song on here? would hate to break it up into different parts but if i must xD best way to do it would split it up by section...allegro moderato, then allegro scherzando , then Come Prima, then andante sostenuto, then piu moderato, to holy crap theres a lot of parts. i'd divide it into about 6 parts of roughly the same length. 2 minutes a pop almost. i was surprized to see he's a pirate be almost 2 minutes long. again ima have to redo it. or maybe i should just move on?

i don't know what i want to do either now or in two years when i graduate. nor do i know why I am continuing to learn music/ music theory, or furthering myself in drawing which i'm really not. I know that I'll keep going with the music cause playing is fun and so are concerts. Im so worried for next year. the school sounds like one of those big city schools like halifax schools. Its set up like a college, with a science building an arts building, auditorium building and i believe theres a theatre there too. I'm really scared. it's very scary to think that i'll be on the other side of the country in less than 12 months. maybe i can see the stampede in 2013. maybe i could convince my parents to get me riding lessons. maybe i'll find an instrument that i fancy more than the sax...scratch that. maybe i can find harder music for the sax. all i play is too easy and i can sight read it perfectly or i get it in the second or third try. i have definately grown as a musician. i'll record something tomorrow. would anyone like to hear pirates of the carribean? or maybe some jazz...i need to get like a Bb solo book of like classical music. i played my first fugue just yesterday, in an excerpt of the messiah overture's second movement. or was it the full movement? i don't know. recording, will do tomorrow and you will hear my awesomeness...sort of.

I myself am French but where i live it is a very celtic place. some may call it New Scotland cause thats basically the name...plus i don't think french music was much different than the rest of european music. anyway... so yeah i think i may...i might not....hmm...may just make a single movement piece in some classical form...maybe a rondeau, they seem like fun the whole repetition of the initial episode, and all of that stuff. managed to start it today...
so far so good, im gluing one side atm, then working on the next, then i need to cut som more wood, glue that down and BAM it'll be pretty much done and i can stain it. then tomorrow i can install the strings and tune it! the zither itself is bigger than i first antisipated. it's about 14"x12"x1.75" but there is a slant on one side that is 12" the slant is...i dunno how many degrees...well time to go unclamp the first side
okay so that didn't work...
round two! xD gonna clamp each side at the same time and leave it there for an hour and a half, moving the clamps every 30 minutes because i want it to hold better. and yeah...i'll finish it tuesday ish. i may be able to get it done tomorrow but eh... i dunno, not quite sure on how it'll play out.
SO GUESS WHAT MY NEW PLAN IS?!?!?!
im gonna make instruments and write music for those instruments; learn the music, and finally record myself playing them. why don't i do that with the sax? cause...im not good at writing sax solos...maybe i'll record some improv another day but not today or tomorrow or tuesday, thursday, or even friday.... well maybe friday, friday is when i plan to upload the zither music. tuesday (or whenever i get the zither stringed) i'll post pictures. well im quite excited! excited indeed! im gonna have to find or pick up some screw eyes for the strings, i pretty sure i have the required fishing line as strings xD can't decide if i'll leave it as is or paint/stain it. i kinda want to put the wild hunt symbol on it...it'd make no sense since the instrument is traditionally chinese but heck i'll flaunt my very very very very very very very ancient ancestor's culture (my family were once noble frenchmen of normandy, ergo, they were also once the viking clan know as the Normans. sense makes some?) time to go to the garage again. ill update more later. seems no one seems to read but meh maybe they do and don't comment.
managed to start it today...
so far so good, im gluing one side atm, then working on the next, then i need to cut som more wood, glue that down and BAM it'll be pretty much done and i can stain it. then tomorrow i can install the strings and tune it! the zither itself is bigger than i first antisipated. it's about 14"x12"x1.75" but there is a slant on one side that is 12" the slant is...i dunno how many degrees...well time to go unclamp the first side
okay so that didn't work...
round two! xD gonna clamp each side at the same time and leave it there for an hour and a half, moving the clamps every 30 minutes because i want it to hold better. and yeah...i'll finish it tuesday ish. i may be able to get it done tomorrow but eh... i dunno, not quite sure on how it'll play out.

today because it's a snow day, im gonna work on my instrument MAKING. yes MAKING.
starting with a Zither, pretty cool instrument if you ask me. technically though a Zither is a category of string instruments including piano, psaltry and auto harps. what im making is called a zither but i believe it to be a psaltry. but anyway...
i plan on making a couple instruments, and i might record some stuff with FL studio.
the instruments i plan on making are gonna be made entirely of wood or other natural materials cause...i can. it'll get me better at woodworking too, or in some cases....bone working.
so yeah i want to make a couple instruments...i'll start easy, with a zither.
technically a zither could be a piece of plywood with strings. however I'm gonna make a box and that'll be my resonance chamber. then put the strings on xD. i have plans for one with like correct placement for the strings and such. the trick will be tuning xD i don't have a really great ear so maybe this will help it.
next i think i'll make a lamellophone of the thumb piano variety; a christmas present for my oldest brother, who isn't allowed a piano/keyboard where he's staying out west. that is a box too but it's more angular so i figured it'd be the next step up.
then maybe a woodwind instrument i dunno.

so i've been teaching myself stuff under the guidance of
spudDastardly who was gracious enough to take some of his time (which no doubt is precious considering he's in university.) to figure out things that would be beneficial for me to learn. so thank you very much!

back from the concert

so i know i didn't mention it but this past weekend i was at a concert. well the concert was sunday and i practiced friday and saturday. Im with the provincial junior band. its crazy how it works. we just come together 2 weekends a year learn four songs, play them at a concert (this time with the University of PEI wind symphony) very fun songs. i'll show you guys it when the video is shared with us D:
they video taped our part of the concert. nbd. and yeah. i had technical difficulties at the start. my reed got stuck to my mouthpiece -facepalm- it was failure but anyway i got it fixed before my solo in our third song =P
it was only really the first song that failed. and at that you couldn't notice. lest you were looking anyhow.
anyway im back is my point. im gonna work on a rememberance day song i think maybe. i'm not 100% sure.
im also gonna work on what species to be. till then im a magical shape-shifting thing-a-ma-blob. maybe i'll go back to my original fursona (pictured on my last submission) i think i might. maybe...ehh i do want to be an equine. ablurr.
so im going to pose a question that will never get answered. maybe.
when playing what to do in the future should you base it on money you'd earn or creative fulfillment?
and furthermore im gonna make a list of things i want to do before i die.
ill start now and add later!

i wouldn't label myself (CAUSE IM AN INDIVIDUAL!) but judging by my gallery and what i have been drawing im a realist. mostly humans, felines, and i guess canines. But i will be getting music on here (YEAH THATS RIGHT) so musician/composer as well.
- What would be your secondary identity? -
uhm...fan artist? mostly from cause normally i wouldn't do it xD
