I'll keep this short since I'm still going over all of it in my head. Just this last Friday I went out to a movie with my friends. Not just friends, my best best friends since middle school (I'm four years out of high school in case you didn't know). Everything seemed fine until today. I receive a call this afternoon from my buddy Ian saying that Paul (Someone I've even known since elementary school) shot himself this morning. Just this last weekend he was fine and now he's dead. I don't know what to think or do and I still don't even know how to feel. I guess I'm still in shock.

Paul was a great guy and the only one of my group who had his head on straight. He was pursuing a degree in construction technology and had a decent job working inventory at Target. He was only 22 years old.

Well, its over. I'm here at the pittsburgh airport waiting for my flight back to cali and thinking back on the great weekend at the disney land of furry fandom. There were a few bad things and a couple jerks and creepers but overall it went great. Hung out with great friends, ate good food and taking home lots of amazing memories. I'll have more to post when I'm home.

Well, it's been over a few days for me now and I can say I honestly had a blast. Met a lot of people, got to suit around and made a few meetups/pannels. Friday was crazy packed. After waiting almost three hours to get my badge I went with my friend to the MLP meetup, took lots of pictures and helped him blast some tunes. Then we ran back to my car, grabbed my fursuit and hit the furry costume meetup which could have gone better but that's a story for another time. From there, more suiting around the convention center hall and the MLP pannel where I got some free swag (two buttons, Fluttershy and Rainbowdash's cutie marks.) Unsuited and hit the dealers den and got some more swag. From there we went to troll the protesters, met a few people, had a panic moment with one (She lost a lot of money while going with me to grab my fursuit again.) Met a girl while trollilng the protesters and then made plans to meet up later. Went home, got my rave gloves for the dance but ended up hanging out with her the rest of the night making fun of the drunk morons on the balcony. We ended up calling it a night around 3am.

Saturday was really chill, I got there late (4pm) and went straight in to the hall. Met up with my friend Alex who wanted to go make fun of the hentai showings but had the wrong time and day so we ended up hanging out for a bit then splitting up and regrouping later for fursuiting. Snagged some free donut sushi while in costume and then chilled in the Marriot lounge for a bit and chatted with her and two other friends of hers. We split up so they could head back to their hotel and I went off and ran into another friend, had a cigerette, hit the game room and called it a night around 1am.

Sunday was my last day, which come to think of it, was the least busy. Most everyone there was fading fast. I got there around noon and picked up a pair of Nekomimi ears and a Derpy Hooves T-Shirt. Ran into my buddy Ian and went with him to pick up the commissions he ordered earlier the weekend then brought my costume back out and did a little photobombing while he tried on my ears. Best part of that suiting session was I got some fan art. Some dude pulled me over and wanted to know if he could draw me, of course I said he could. Did more suiting.

Tons of fun all weekend and now I need to recover before Anthrocon in TWO WEEKS! I'd definitely go again, it's not a furry convention but it sure as hell was tons of fun to miss. Especially when it's practically right next door.

Oh yes, did I mention ANTHROCON IN TWO WEEKS!

Figured I'd start posting these every now and then to say what's on my mind and what I'm up to.

BAH! Spring...why? I've spend all day in this head suffering from worse allergies than last year. Needless to say, it's not fun and I'm running a double dose of zyrtec right now. Doesn't seem to be helping at all. On the bright side, summer is coming, no allergies, more heat. Lots and lots of heat. = /

On the school and work front, It's hard, all of it. I have to do about 3 readings a night for my english class while also having a pretty sizable workload for my math class and handling my job. It's a lot in a very short time; but I'll get it done. I've got an awesome group for my English class that seems to be the most stable of them; five weeks in and we still haven't lost a member. I also plan to quit my job right around Anthrocon time. It has nothing to do with the con, I just need out of that place. Besides the fact they cut my position completely and docked my pay and threw all kinds of additional responsibilities on me, anyone above my department managers in store are completely bi-polar and control freaks. We can't do anything right and apparently none of us actually work. Whatever though, they can have fun hiring a complete new staff real soon. I won't be there to watch them run themselves into the ground.

FURSUITS! YAY, rebounding from rant back to something fun. I've started Miles 2.0 but I've hit a snag as you might have guessed from the earlier paragraph. Yes, I have no time to work on him. *Insert sad face* Yes, I've got the basic foam work down and working on eyes but I just can't find time to go out and keep working. So, chances are that Miles 1.0 will be coming with me to Anthrocon this year and perhaps I can have a 2.0 model for FC. Hell, if I like it I might even change up the fur colors and get a partial of Quinn (My real 'sona.) I also took my first commission last week, it was the fox tail I uploaded just in case you didn't bother to read the description, and shame on you if you didn't! Which kinda means that possibly soon I may, kinda, if-the-mood-fits-me-and-if-I-have-time, could probably take a couple tail commissions. Maybe I'll take a couple for pickup at Anthrocon this year or at Bay Area Furry events. Again, I'm not open, just thinking about doing so if I can get the time. Perhaps I'll do something special for my 1,000th view.

So I've decided that this week I'll be starting me remake of Miles. Among the list of things I want to change is to make the head smaller. I'll be able to shave it down at least 2" (Length, width and height) by not doing a frame of foam, then a layer of foam over it. I also even got a little bit of white uphostry foam to use for the eyes so I won't have to go and line the eyes with white fun foam after. I'll also be adding a fan in the mouth.

Overall I'm expecting to take around a month to finish since I won't be sitting around waiting for feedback on FAF or anything. I know what to do now I just need to execute it...again. Overall, it'll be the same head, same hair, same colors, just better.

I'm all set now for Anthrocon 2012. Got my flight booked today., already have my hotel reserved and con registration complete. As for as I'm concerned; nothing getting in my way! I plan to do more work on Miles before he gets brought to AC including work on the head and a new set of hands and possibly a new tail. I really liked the first tail I made with the short pile fur but I screwed up on the seams and cutting so it looks pretty shoddy. I plan to remake it and among other things, cleaner cuts and use the right stuffing. Oh, and I've been getting encouraged to make a body suit, which I might just do.

On the fursuit front I'm thinking about making another costume. I've been chatting with a friend about helping the events program he represents to get a new mascot (a white/black cat). Still waiting to hear back from them as I think they're a bit iffy on playing for materials. They seem content with the shitty, poorly made, falling apart head piece they already have. Personally, I'd like to start working on a costume of Quinn my Coyote 'sona. I learned a lot from making Miles and I'd love to incorporate that into a better costume. But that won't be done until after AC. Not sure when I'll get started on him.

In personal news I'm registered for classes moving to a new position in my job. I've also decided on a major; I want to study geology. However I'm not sure which sub field I want to specialize in;at least I have a general direction. I'd love to do geologic survey or oil geology. After AC I plan to find a new job all together...one that doesn't suck so bad. My goal is that by the end of the year to have the means to move out and by next summer to be gone. I plan to keep up my avoidance of fast food even after lent (Fast food was what I gave up this year and I did a pretty good job of it for once) and get my self more active, which is harder during the rainy season but I'll make it work.

I'll admit, I'm glad I went. Even if it was just for a few hours I got tons of fursuit photos and got to meet a few cool people. Now the fun part is getting all those photos off my phone and onto my computer. Also took a few videos of the quatsuiters there and something I'll call "Stomp the Con." Yea, I'm not too sure what was going on there either. I'll put up a few photos to here and my DA (Inashne117). Videos will go up on my youtube page: alias1029.
