So I'm moving to a new account. Sorta.

The transition will be slow, and probably not worth it.

~~~ My first DJ Live set.... It's okay...
Posted 12 years agoThere are a lot of mixing problems, but I rushed this out for a DJing contest being held in St. Louis. Tonight was the deadline, and I am pretty sure I blew my chances.
The mix itself is decent, but there are mixing problems. Ableton fucked up my beatmatching as well; I'm disappointing.
~~~~~ New Philosophy for Music ^-^ (Musicians, PLEASE READ)
Posted 12 years agoShort Version:
Don't rush your tunes.
tldr Version:
Getting attention anywhere in the world with music is hard. To respond to those difficulties, the culture here on FA is geared towards making artist think that they have to release as much music as possible in efforts to keep your audiences interested.
This is complete and utter bullshit. (In my honest opinion)
By rushing you ass off to complete a song every 7 days, you're dis-serving yourself and your craft. Everything unique about your artistic strengths is undermined in efforts to get peoples attention.
No professional artist CONSISTENTLY makes music this way.
Yea, an artist might spend only a few weeks recording music (like Daft Punk 1-month production period for 2005's Human After All), but even then professional artist don't do this consistently.
The only way I've figured out how to counter this issue is to take it slow, and work hard. I've got about a few song in production that are in WAY better shape now than they were a week ago, thanks to my decision to keep working on them.
Asking people to listen to music is a demanding one. It's basically saying, "Hey, stop what you're doing and pay attention to me for 5 minutes." In a way, asking someone to listen to you music is inherently egotistical. They deserve to have their attention rewarded.
NOW HOLD ON, I'm not saying that rushing is like an unforgivable sin or something; I imagine it might benefit new musicians who are still in the process of learning the craft, for doing so allows for feedback into what you're doing right and wrong, giving you a clear idea of where your strengths and weaknesses lie. But I digress.
Guys, try taking you're time with you're music. You, like me, might notice a very satisfying improvement.
(With that being said, I've got some nice tunes I'm going to be rolling out here in about a week's time, and I believe they WILL be worth your time. Also, In fact, I'm not releasing WIPs anymore, and a lot of my projects probably won't be heard outside the vicinity of my laptop speakers.)

//~~╚╚♪♪♪♪~~~~ Life / Music future
Posted 12 years agoLife sucks right now. I blame my school for that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Music plans-
Except for a remix that I'm working on for a group of friends, I'm done making trance, techno, house, etc. etc.
I no longer desire to make music that sounds like other people's.
I currently plan on making industrial-esque sounds (mostly in-line with the stuff I've been doing).
I'm also working with a friend on an experimental rock project, most of which I will not post on FA.
If I ever decide to go house whatever, I'll do that under a different profile.
But basically, I figured out what kind of music I want to make.
~~ 31 Watchers!!! ~~ Snow Day Fun!!
Posted 12 years ago~~ 31 Watchers
So I have 31 watchers now! Yea, that's not huge, but it still friggin' awesome! I never though I'd come as far as I did.
I'm thinking about releasing new stuff every week. I'm tired of being a perfectionist, because it consumes me and then I don't get shit done.
~~ Snow Day Fun!!
So, being in Missouri, there was about 5-6 inches of snow last Wednesday, resulting in a wonderful 4-day weekend. On Friday night I got in touch with an old ex-girlfriend on Facebook (first time in 3 years), and we talked... a lot. Our relationship had ended rather badly back in high school (she was moving, and neither of us handled the break-up very well), and it was a shame, because we both really enjoyed each other company then, and now.
So, we talked on Facebook for, like, 6 hours (no joke), and it was awesome! We caught up, talked about life, school, music, I told her I was a furry, I found out she was a semi-hardcore Wiccan (so we're both insane), blah blah blah.
At one point we apologized to each other for not being so nice to each other all those years ago. That made my whole weekend. I'm so happy that I finally got my chance to say sorry to somebody that I still really care about. I finally made peace with her, and myself.
I bet we'll continue to be friends.
I've never felt so happy and relieved in my life.
~~~~ So getting drunk actually really suck
Posted 13 years agoI got drunk last night, which was... Okay, I feel that acting like an idiot isn't as huge a draw as I thought it would be.
I feel like shit right now and I think I've had enough of induced vomiting for one day.
Not very fun. But at least this occasion (getting drunk) has gifted with me clarity towards an issue:
YOLO is the 8th most fucking moronic thing I've ever seen in my life.

Posted 13 years ago~~~~ MUSICS
Cause I was thinking that, rather than obsess over every thing I put out (with little reason to; face it, I gotta long way to go), I was thinking that I'd just start releasing stuff that I haven't completely finished.
Essentially, I'm thinking that I'd like to just release material as I go. I'm done obsessing.
I just want to have fun. Fuck making this into something more than a hobby; I currently do not possess the skill-set to do so.
So, come join me as I learn how to make music (again). I've been dicking around with Prog-House, House in general, trance, and dupstep, and I've had a little success, and I think within the next couple of weeks I'll just post that stuff out.
~~~~ LIFE
SO, I'm starting college again soon. Tough classes (Engineering Physics, Data Structures with C++ Programming), so I'll have less time for music.
I think I think about music to much. Surely I must have something interesting going on in my life...
I've been playing a lot of CS:GO lately.... And..
Ugh..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Personal Grievances / Happy New Year
Posted 13 years agoI recently read this quote that stated that 75% of the music available on iTunes has never been downloaded.
That makes me feel kinda down, because it gives rise to my fears that, no matter what I do, music and me will never go anywhere.
Which sucks.
On the bright side, I also read that nobody should understand a musician's first release. You can take that however you want.
And I had this guy on Soundcloud tell me that I have a style. If nobody ever understands me, then oh well. Being honest with myself is more important.
And plus my music is cooler than rave IMO.
(Yea, I have a mild ego. All artist do, but most won't give themselves credit. I made a fairly decent album, and I am proud of that)
I hope you all have a happy new year!
