Incoming Tigress Flood
Posted 6 years agoWanted to wait a few days before making this journal, since I just announced the winners of the contest in the last one.
Anyways, for the remainder of this week, I'm going to finally begin uploading the pictures I have of Jackie, a name that has its own folder but has been empty for a very long time. I'll start with some of her more outdated pictures (which will be marked as such and be placed in scraps) and eventually upload her current reference sheet and most recent pictures (which will be in the main gallery proper). I won't be uploading all of her pictures (as some of them were made before her current reference sheet was finished), just the ones that I like the most. (all pictures made with her current reference sheet in mind will be uploaded, though).
I just wanted to make this journal post so you weren't caught completely off guard by all of the new pictures. I'll be uploading a handful each day so it doesn't come across as spam.
But not starting tonight; it's late and I need sleep.
Later.

Winners announcement.... wait, "winners"?
Posted 6 years agoFirst, sorry this took me so long. Ugh, work is eating me alive this month. At least it'll be worth it on the next two pay dates.
Anyway, it turns out I had a surprise after all, even for the winners! See, after I use a random number selector, I thought to myself "Wait a minute; this is to celebrate having two hundred watchers. Why am I only selecting one person?"
So I decided to spin again!
won the first spin of the wheel and has already received his prizes.
won the second spin. I'm still waiting for him to get back to me. In the meantime, I didn't think I could wait any longer on announcing the winners.
This was fun. I plan to host another free raffle next month in August, though I'll probably only select one winner then. And I plan to do these regularly if I'm able to, just because.
Congratulations to the two of them! Thank you everyone else who entered and I hope you consider trying again next month!

200 watcher giveaway has ended
Posted 6 years agoA bit late, but I have selected the winner. I'll announce this publically tomorrow once I have confirmed they have received their prize, which will most likely be after work since I work 12 hour shifts. Thank you for your interest and please stay tuned for the results.
200 watcher giveaway!
Posted 6 years agoA little late due to personal reasons, but I'm here nonetheless. I wanted to do this as soon as I reached 200 watchers but couldn't due to the fact I already had another contest going on at the time.
Anyways, to celebrate me reaching 200 watchers, I'm having a little contest. The rules are as follows.
1. The first person must comment with the number "1", the person below them must REPLY with "2", the person below them with "3" etc.
2. You must have a valid Steam account. If you don't have one, they're free and there are plenty of games you can play for free in the meantime.
3. On July 1st, I'll use a random number generator to pick the winner.
The person who is selected can either have a game of their choice up to $25 dollars or combine smaller priced games as long as the total cost doesn't exceed $25. Because I think Steam only allows you to gift people in your friends list, you will have to temporarily add me as a friend but feel free to remove me once we have confirmed the game(s) have been added to your account.
Oh, and this is open to everyone, not just my watchers (but new watchers are always welcomed!).
Good luck!

Contest over
Posted 6 years ago
won. And he won by default because no one else submitted an entry!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhvIISDoarU
I haven't even seen his entry yet! (but I'll take a look at it in a second.
I'll alert him that he won, but tomorrow I'll be announcing another contest that I'm hoping more people will enter since I think the prize will be more enticing to a general audience.
Have a good one.
Want to earn a free character? Please read this journal!
Posted 6 years agoAfter I adopted my Tailia, I've made a point to not adopt a character unless I both liked the design and was able to easily come up with at least a background for them.
If that phrasing seemed a little odd, that's intentional. Tailia isn't the first character I've adopted. For reasons I still don't understand, I participated in one of those "egg adopts", where you pick a color and get a character. Some of them are a complete surprise on what you get, others let you pick the character's sex, species, and/or body type. This https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26862457/ happened to be one of those. Why I did it, I'm not sure. Must have been an impulsive thing.
Thing is, I couldn't figure out what to do with the character I ended up getting: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/26991518/ . Sure, I liked the design and coloring, but I still had a blank slate that my brain just couldn't fill in. After that, I decided to never to adopt an unseen, unknown character design and only buy ones that I know what to do with.
So, what to do with the one I've had for a whole year without using? I feel weird about reselling a character and I wouldn't mind giving it away, but here's the thing: I think it's a travesty when an artist comes up with a unique or interesting design, it's bought, and the buyer never does anything with them, ever (such is the case with this snake woman). How to ensure that it goes to someone who will actually use it?
Hence the contest. Rather than a flat resell or a bidding war, you'll have to earn the character if you want it. The rules are simple.
1. Send me a note that says "2019 April Character Contest". Your note must have this subject line or I'll ignore it.
2. Come up with the following:
Name:
Nationality:
Occupation:
Likes:
Dislikes:
Background: (This part is optional but filling one out can improve your chances of winning)
3. The contest will end on May 31st at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. I will read the entries on June 1st and whichever I like the most or find the most interesting, will be the winner.
4. If you make a mistake or want to change something, you have until the contest ends to do so. If you make a correction and/or a new description, you must use the same subject line with V2 (and heaven forbid, V3, V4, etc. if you really messed up or is that undecided). I will delete the earlier entry without reading it.
5. And finally, this contest is open to anyone, not just my watchers (although new watchers are always appreciated!) Even if you don't want the character, if you have a friend you think might be interested, feel free to send them this journal!
And that is is. The winner will receive my copy of the character's picture and I'll ask
to switch the description to say that you are the owner.
If you have any questions, please ask them in this journal. Have a good day, everyone.

Still a little sad but feeling better.
Posted 6 years agoWhile it'll take a while to get over the death of my beloved pet (and truly, most owners never completely get over it, much like any other family member), I am doing a bit better. I'm taking it easy the next two days, so I'll try to remember to upload some art since I still have that to do (which I would have done last weekend if not for, you know...).
To those who expressed their condolences, you know who you are and I thank you for it.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Going away for awhile
Posted 6 years agoI'm going to be brief because I'm not in the mood for anything longer.
I'm going to have to put my cat of almost 14 years down tomorrow morning (Saturday) due to various ailments. Suffice to say, I just won't be in the mood for much of anything this weekend. My only comfort is that I have given her the best life I could possibly have and have tomorrow and Sunday to grieve before I'll have to drag myself back to work on Monday.
If you need anything, feel free to leave a note, just don't expect to hear me until I'm good and ready to come back.
Hope all of you will have a better weekend than I will.
[EDIT]
It's done. She had a quick, painless death. Goodbye "K"; you were very loved and will be missed.

New Kickstarter by Volken Fox: State of Flux
Posted 6 years agoHey, so of you might remember a little visual novel called "The Pirate's Fate" by my buddy
. Well, he's back at it again with another visual novel called "State of Flux". Why don't you go and check out the Kickstarter?

AMA Sugar Sunday on Curious Cat
Posted 6 years agoSo,
told me that prompts make it a lot easier for people to come up with questions. Well, I have the day off, so AMA on Curious Cat. Today's prompt is my gluttony demoness, Sugar! Got a question about Sugar you want answered? Ask it on my Curious Cat profile!
https://curiouscat.me/IndigoJack
Remember, you don't even need an account to use this service!
P.S.: Also, the prompt is just a suggestion if you have no other ideas. I'll still accept questions about anything else too.

AMA on Curious Cat Tuesday?
Posted 7 years agoI was supposed to work overtime but I got a call saying it was canceled.
Not too upset, actually, I was feeling under the weather anyways.
So while I'm taking it easy to hopefully feel better for regular work tomorrow, why not stop by my Curious Cat if you want to poke for my brain a bit? https://curiouscat.me/IndigoJack Remember, you don't even need an account to ask a question!
Last time I only got... one question. Maybe this time we can make that double!
Have a good day, y'all.

Curious Cat and AMA Thursday
Posted 7 years agoI opened up a Curious Cat profile. You can find it here: https://curiouscat.me/IndigoJack
So if you want to ask me something, go ahead. You can also ask questions about my characters too.
Today is my day off, so turnout for questions would be super fast, as opposed to my normal working hours.
Nice thing is you don't even need an account to use it, and even if you do, anon ask is automatically on anyways.
Oh, and you should also ask
questions too at her profile: https://curiouscat.me/CerineHero ; she's great at it!
That is all. You all have a great day now.

Contest Winners!
Posted 7 years agoTrue to my word, I'm officially announcing the winners of the giveaway I ran during December.
won both Psychonauts and Contraption Maker! I did say that people could enter in all three and he won two of them!
won Dust!
And that's it! Thanks to everyone who entered. I might do this again next year, only I'll just offer one game but it can be anything you want as long as it's $20 or less.
Thanks again!

Contest Over- Winners Selected
Posted 7 years agoLike the title says. The contest I made has ended and I've used a random number generator to select the winners. I will contact them here on FA and hopefully, they will respond soon. Once they can verify their Steam account and that the games have made it to their accounts, I'll publically announce the winner.
Thanks again! Next year I might do something similar, only make it more like "I'll buy the winner a game of their choice of $20 or less" or something like that.

Giving away three games on Steam
Posted 7 years agoYou heard that right!
Due to reasons unknown, I ended up with extra copies of games that I already own in my inventory. I’m sick of them just gathering virtual dust, so I’ll be hosting a giveaway to clear them out. The rules are simple.
1. You must have a Steam account. If you don’t have one, you should seriously think about getting one; they’re free and there are plenty of free games to play.
2. You must not already own a copy of the game you want to win.
3. You must reply to the comment hosting the game giveaway with a number, increasing by one digit each time. For example, the first person will say “1”, the next will say “2”, then the next “3”, etc. If in the case that two people accidentally write the same number twice, the person below should delete their comment and try again.
4. This is open to anyone, not just watchers! And you can enter in all three so long as conditions 1 and 2 apply to you.
The contest will start from now until December 31st, in which sometime in the afternoon I’ll use a random number generator to pick a winner in each comment chain. I’ll then contact the winner by the FA note system to let them know they won. They have one week to reply back with their Steam user name so that I can sent them their gift. If they don’t reply within a week, I’ll have to try again with a different number. Once all three games have been confirmed as sent and received, I’ll post a new journal entry declaring the winners.
The three games I’m giving away are:
1. Psychonauts, including the game, the game OST, and the cinematic musical score!
2. Contraption Maker. It’s a puzzle game that’s a lot like The Incredible Machine, if you’re old enough to remember that game.
3. Dust: An Elysian Tail. Classic anthro Metroidvania.
Feel free to tell anyone you know if they’re interested in these games or just free games in general.

Computer fixed!
Posted 7 years agoMy computer finally came back! I'll have some more testing to do but it seems to be working now.
I got a lot of art commissions to upload. Also, my parents will be back again, so it'll be radio silence again on Monday night, most of Tuesday, maybe part of Wednesday.
Anyways, thanks for your patience.

Update on computer problems
Posted 7 years agoMy computer is still at the repair center. It's taking longer than expected; not sure why. My parents will be spending tonight and tomorrow because of the hurricane affecting North Carolina. I'll be unavailable as late as Friday night, maybe longer. If you need something from me, feel free to note me, just be aware that I won't be able to respond until my parents leave to go back home to a hopefully not destroyed house. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Computer problems
Posted 7 years agoMy computer is broken. I'm typing this on my phone, which is also broken and is in the process of getting fixed. If you need me for anything, please be patient with me as it's very hard to do anything without a keyboard.
It will take me about 1-2 weeks to get this fixed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
[EDIT 8/23] Just received the mailing box yesterday and will be mailing it tomorrow. Let's hope this doesn't take too long but it could be another two weeks before I can use my main computer again.

Like visual novels? Why not consider The Pirate's Fate?
Posted 7 years agoI'm not one for posting journals very often, and under normal circumstances, I would have preferred to post a journal announcing that I finally got something to show off, like a story or something, but while I'm still stuck being busy with... life, I wanted to make a quick entry encouraging anyone reading this to consider buying The Pirate's Fate.
It's a furry visual novel with minor transformation themes created by the artist/writer duo
and
. It's really well made and I was even a beta tester for it. And if you like it, tell everyone you think would enjoy it to try it out as well. I don't know how many people I can reach on a nearly inactive account like this, but if I can get at least one person to buy it and spread the word, then that's good enough for me.
