Since meeting DEMO, a japanese idol group, in august at a convention, I have become somewhat fascinated with the whole topic - but they also mean a lot to me in a way that is hard to describe. Basically, I always wanted to get to know a japanese lady. It sounds dumb, I know that. But suddenly, there were five, that made me feel like they recognized and saw me. To this day, they still do and even know that although I appear as Ingwie Phoenix online, it's me, Kevin.

They're cute, friendly and funny. And "funny" is a good keyword...

So, as idols, they have to move their career forward, obviously. But they are doing this in the most japanese way possible: Every 50 reposts, they will take a piece off. So, strip poker. But on Twitter. XD

They don't believe they could make the 500, and honestly, neither do I (at the moment) but I want to give them my support.

I have been feeling under the weather - in both physical and mental ways.

I mean, let's see:

- Twitter was bought, Elon changed it, and nowadays he is acting like a child throwing one tandrum after another.
- Reddit restricts it's API access, CEO calls the protesters "noise".
- Meta literally is in a state of "it exists". Can't be long before something happens there. Hell, rumor has it the EU isn't all to happy with them at all, chances are more lawsuits are coming sooner rather than later. xD
- Apple releases a VR headset for 3500 USD. For reference, my Valve Index cost me about 1000. My whole PC was about 3200 € (Euro, not USD!) and INCLUDED the Index. What the heck.
- OpenAI and Microsoft are about to turn Windows 11 into the biggest, bloated spyware we have ever whitnessed. At this point, Facebook's data leaks are looking smaller and smaller in comparison as to what these two corps are about to pull from unsuspecting win11 users (because not everyone cairs and/or knows - and this is a whole rabbit hole in on itself).
- The Fediverse (namely Lemmy) experienced the Mastodon effect and is existing in a shock-stasis. It was NOT ready.
- Tiktok is destroying more and more attentionspans in it's wake. I wonder what this is gonna lead to? One thing is for sure, CCP won't let it die so soon.

And those are, in no particular order either, some of the things that have been floating around on my mind. Honestly, it makes me feel a little like "going insane", in a way. Or, like a digital-only midlife crisis...of sorts.

Dude, I grew up with LimeWire, MSN, ICQ, AIM and YIM. Meebo Messenger was THE SHIT! Pidgin and friends were amazing. BBS' were old, but not outdated. The telnet command was still a standard tool and didn't have to be enabled manually first in some hardly descript "Windows Features" window. E-Mails didn't need 20+ DNS records for Security, spam-filtering and authority signage (is it REALLY this server that email is coming from?!) and what not.

I hate to think that "everything was better back then"; but holy shit, it might actually be partially true now.

Look at me. I have gone so far into the rabbit hole, I came out to Nostr, a "decentralized, censorship-resilient social media protocol". The network is full of cryptobros, but the protocol is actually amazing. Just like IPFS, it's a great piece of kit, but their uselesscoins are ruining everything; now called Zaps and Sats and whatnot. Still; due to the way Nostr works, you have a chance to be found, like, actually. And you dont need an email or a phone to sign up - so I just threw an account together and am lurking there.

At this point; I might as well watch what the cryptobros are doing, chances are their conspiracy theories just happen to accidentially link to something plausible that could be interesting.

What the hell is with this world. All the wars and geopolitical conflicts completely put aside.

Last night I had one of the most depressing dreams in a while.

I don't know the german term, but here it's "Privatinsolvenz" which basically means to declare to the state that you are absolutely, utterly broke and can no longer fulfill outstanding payments and, in fact, pay for anything at all. Done, no money, out, over. And basically I dreamed that I had to do this, that policemen came and took all my stuff away, rudely throwing it into boxes and just treating it like trash although it has incredible value to me. A while later, I saw a picture of myself curled up under a bench near a trainstop, sleeping.

Terrifying, really. Being scared of being poor is one thing, but dreaming of it and having your whole day just absolutely suck on an emotional level is another. Even my normal coping strats didn't really work so far so... yeah, goess today is just a fucking shit day. (Excuse my french there - but honestly, I literally have no other words to describe this.)

That said; friendly reminder that although someone always smiles at you does not neccessarily mean they are also smiling within. Give everybody the love and care that you love and care for. That could just be listening to them, waving them a friendly hello or other things. From just waving to outright letting actions talk - its always better to do something than nothing.

But honestly, with this state of my life since late 2018, I am surprised I haven't gone bonkers yet.

So there is currently a little festival thingy going on in the town I live at :3

Whilst roaming around, I eventually found a booth selling furs. Now, I am usually not an impulse buyer but there are little things that can make me. And when I saw the furs, I just... had to. XD

And by god do I regret nothing. It feels so gooooood~ ^_^

For those uninitiated: Since a very young age, I enjoyed the touch and feel of fur. Later, I used fur rugs for "manly things". o.o Essentially just wrapping it around where it feels good and then going with it. Its an odd kink, haven't found a single soul that shares it ever, but I love it <3

So when I saw this soft and wonderful fur, I just HAD to have it <3 *happy phoenix chirps!!*

So since I decided to polish my profile and did stuffs around the place to clean up and reinstate, I did sit down a few times to engage in FA's version of doomscrolling: Open browse and just keep hitting F5. Unfiltered, unalgorythmn-ified, raw flood of new submissions. And thus, you see just *what* people post.

And oh my god do people LOVE posting adopts and YCHs. o_o These, and corresponding reminders, are just about everywhere. I didn't make a proper statistic out of it, but I bet there is at least one YCH reminder every three second or so. xD

I dont know if I want to be impressed or sad. It makes sense: People need customers to make the money to pay their bills. On the other hand, the amount of personal works eems to have...kinda gone down O.o So it kinda feels like a decline in quality; which means that when you DO see some amazing thing, you better latch onto that as its kind of a rarity now o.o

So I spent the past few days re-uploading most of the art I own and even those that was partially never uploaded, whilst also leaving out some works that I don't think really belong on my FA (overly violent stuff). I might change my mind eventually and upload it later anyway but nyeh ovo

It's been literal years since I was THIS active on FA and I have had a blast so far! Saw great art, had a few lovely comments back and forth and overall, I feel very...energetic? o.o I don't know how to put this, but the past months I felt kinda flat, exhausted and such. But these few days in which I effectively re-connected with my "old furry self", were kinda rejuvenating. Feels so gud :D
