SORRY SORRY
Posted 10 years agoFinals really crept up on me this semester so I've been fairly quiet around here lately. A few commissions on my list have been started but not finished, so if you're on my queue and curious about seeing how far your piece may be, please feel free to send me a note!
Things should clear up by Thursday, and then I will be able to hop back in the saddle and get some of this stuff done for you guys.

PHEW, glad that's over... (+ Commissions Closing)

Wow, okay. It's been an interesting week.
Dash was in the ER TWICE this week for some really intense abdominal pain. The second time it was so bad he was getting delirious and almost passed out. The first time they told him he had a bacterial infection (basically like a UTI just centralized in a different, more sensitive area) but he had some other weird symptoms they couldn't diagnose.
After the second bout of abdominal pain, more serious than the first, they sent him home and said 'don't worry, it's just stomach flu, take some pain meds and you'll be fine' so I was understandably irked when they shooed us out the door. But he seems to be doing better so far and will return to work tomorrow.
That put a rather unexpected wrench in my plans to take and complete commission work this weekend, but I still did get a couple requests that I was able to finalize. If you wanted a commission but do not see yourself on my queue below, please note me otherwise I will be officially closing commissions again until I can clear some more work out of the way.
Thanks for your patience and support everyone <3 Hope you had a less 'exciting' week than I did.

Posted 10 years agoHey all, please excuse my frankness here but everything is kind of on hold right now due to Dash, my boyfriend, making his second ER visit this week.
Responses will be slow, commissions are on temporary hold, and I will be generally hard to get a hold of for the foreseeable future so please bear with me!

Commissions Opening Tomorrow | YCH Vote!
Posted 10 years ago
Hey everyone! I'm over the midterm hump in my classes and I have a bit of free time this weekend. I plan to mostly clear my current queue and take on another couple pieces to be finished hopefully in the next month or so, so keep your eyes open for that if you're interested.
Also, I want to throw up another YCH. I've started a list for myself of potential themes, if you think one in particular sounds really interesting, let me know in the comments! I'll take a tally and sketch up whichever has the most interest.
PILE 'O TREASURE | character probably suggestively/smugly sitting atop a treasure hoard
PLUGGED IN | Sci-fi morph suit/organic bionics infused into your character with tons of chords and holograms
ELVEN ARCHER | ...Yeah pretty much what it sounds like, could be kind of art nouveau-y
WINTER IS COMING | Cold hardened, winter viking badassery
FIRE IN THE SKY | a very dynamic autumn piece, with your character floating amongst a bunch of dramatic, swirling leaves clad in fantasy autumn themed garb
Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Hey all! If you're interested in seeing some of the concept art we've done for Everend so far, check out our blog: my partner in concept-art crime posted a great, super in depth look at some of the stuff we've created so far as well as some of our process.
Not all of the work is mine, but a few pieces are up there that you should check out, and it'll show you a little bit of what's been keeping me busy. The link to the devblog again is:

Lookin' for Artists/Theme Ideas
Posted 10 years ago
*half-assedly throws some confetti*
My birthday is later on this month, and I'm looking at getting myself one relatively inexpensive commission because I'm basically brokeee. Not sure what to get though so I'm looking for suggestions.
What should I have drawn?
Who should I commission for it?
Any ideas?
Probably something with Ink o'course, just not sure of what content I want yet and I haven't started looking at artists so I'd love some recommendations. I'm thinking it might be kind of hard to find an artist who can get something done on time, what with the Halloween craze/specials/ych's and all.

I have something rather serious and personal to share.
As hopefully most of you know, I am a game design major. I'm also a senior, meaning that this year I'm taking a two-semester long capstone class. This class is kind of the end-all-be-all project for my major, a time where I get to show off all my skills that I've learned at college so far, where I get to collaborate with a team to finally realize our collective potential.
We had our first 'sprint'/milestone presentation today, and I'm having a hard time expressing just how proud I am of my team so far. Holy cow guys. I cannot find the words. A month ago I stood up in front of the class and pitched a very vague game idea about owls and caves, and now here I am, Art Lead of a team of twelve very hard working artists and coders working to make that game pitch a reality. It is no longer 'my pitch' but 'our game'. A small change but it means a lot.
Seeings how this project both means a lot to me but is also currently consuming almost all of my brainpower and time, I'd love to share it with you. Our professor is all about PR and media, so he's had us create a few accounts that will be updated fairly regularly with game news, concept art, and blog posts. If you would give any one of these pages a like, a share, or a follow and mention them to your friends, I would be eternally grateful.
Main Game Website
Development Blog
Everend Facebook Page
Strix Studio Twitter
Pinterest
The content on each site will be a bit different, if you're looking for the image heavy ones definitely give the facebook, the the devblog, and the pinterest especially a follow.
Thanks for looking guys <3 Hopefully when the game comes out you can all play it!

Short Hiatus!
Posted 10 years ago
And the short of the details:
Last week I over-stressed my wrist and my hand started to tingle in places. No real pain yet except a few short times while I'm asleep and I wake up after sleeping on it wrong or something... But it was enough to scare me into not doing any more work this weekend.
School, like many other artists, is also eating me up at the moment, and I had to postpone most of my homework as to not stress my wrist as well. I've been relatively quiet lately because of all this, and I thought I would finally make an update about it. Art is going to be very slow for a while, because while I may have the time to do it, my wrist may not always cooperate during those times. Apologies to the couple of you who are waiting on art, and thank you for being patient with me. I am really worried about over-stressing my wrist and not being able to do my job or work ; ;
I don't expect that this will last any longer than a week or two, hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon.

Update: Tuition, SOS, Adopts, and $5 Sketches!
Posted 10 years ago
Hey everyone! :D I just felt like making a journal quick... I know I've been kind of quiet lately due to school.
I paid off the rest of my tuition for the fall semester today, I'm really stoked that I won't have to take on any student loans or other debts for this year. This is mostly due to all of the commissions and support I got from you guys this summer, so if you bought an adoptable, a commission, or a sketch... Thank you from the bottom of my heart! If it weren't for you guys I'd be racking up a massive pile of debt right now.
Sink Or Swim is slowly progressing. I have almost two pages totally lined, colored and shaded, but I won't be posting anything here until I have a decent amount of story stockpiled so you can read it all at once. I feel like that's a better way for me to structure it within my gallery here. If for some reason you just can't wait, I post all the pages immediately after they're completed over on the SoS Patreon page.
I've had a massive itch to release a batch of egg adoptables again, so expect probably 4 or so new eggs sometime in the near future after I clear out a bit of work!
Also totally check out my friend
Ozrae who wants to buy an ad. She's selling $5 black and white sketches to raise the funds ($7-8 with color) and her art is p cute. All info is here:

If you have any recommendations for folders, I can add some. I might add folders for my characters, not sure yet...

Hello watchers (And a special hello to all of you new folks!)
In my hunt for more collab partners, I stumbled across the lovely

That's where you come in! We need a test subject!
You must be watching both myself and Katida to enter.

I've noticed a dramatic increase in these really gross/heartbreaking images when I try to search for reference material. Even with safe search on I'm not sure how exactly avoid it... It just makes me really sad and stressed for those poor animals.

Adoptable Base Design Contest (CLOSED)
Posted 10 years ago
╭╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❖ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮╮
To promote the creation of my new adoptable base (but also
because I really just want to see what people can do with it)
I'll be holding a little contest! All info is below. Please read
it thoroughly before entering the contest.
╰╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❖ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯╯
╭╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CONTEST RULES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮╮
This contest is to create one unique character design using a my new adoptable base. The winner will receive a free copy
of the entire base ($30 originally) to use for adoptables, personal characters, or whatever else they may want.
Even if you don't win, this is an opportunity for you to try using my lineart for free, and the character you create can be sold or kept for your own use!
If there are more than 50 entries, for every 50 designs there will be 1 winner (i.e. if there are 100 entries, there will be 2 winners).
All I ask is that you follow a few Rules:
- One entry per person. That means you may only use this lineart to create one character.
- I cannot require you to signal boost, but I would love it from the bottom of my inky heart!
- You must use one of the linearts provided by myself later on in this journal.
- You may NOT remove my watermark from the lineart.
- All submissions must be public, i.e. uploaded to your FA gallery.
- Please credit me when you submit your entry.
- You own all rights to the design you create! You may keep or sell it as you wish, but only use the lineart once.
** Failure to comply with these rules will result in your design not being valid/entered into the contest. You will also be blacklisted from future raffles, freebies, and contests that I host. **
╰╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❖ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯╯
╭╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ LINEART INFO ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮╮
You must use one of these linearts for your submission to qualify. Feel free to splice them (steal the horns from one, the gender from another, etc) but your final
lineart MUST contain only the lines provided below, no extra edits, accessories, species, or anatomy (aside from patching parts where the lines may need to be replaced).
Judges will be watching for your creative use of these lines! You are in no way limited to just the labeled species.
Available linearts are as follows:
LARGE CAT
ANTELOPE
CABBIT
UNICORN (WESTERN)
QILIN/EASTERN UNICORN
WATER BUFFALO
CANINE
╰╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❖ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯╯
╭╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ JUDGING + END DATE ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮╮
This contest will end in 5 days on September 7th. When the clock rolls over at midnight (CST) on the 7th, I will no
longer be taking entries so remember to post a link to yours on this journal on or before the 7th!
** Due to FA's Recent server issues, the end date for this contest has been extended to September 8th at 9AM CST to allow everyone to submit their entries to FA.**
All entries will be reviewed and chosen by our lovely panel of judges:

Best way to sell a .PSD file?
Posted 10 years agoHad bases on my mind a lot (the fae one I created and have started to use recently will ultimately be released for public use) and I'm currently revamping my own base, potentially for public use. But that brings up a really weird question I've never had to consider before--what's the best platform to use for selling .psd files?
Dash does have the capability to make a site where I could sell me own files (As I know a lot of artists do that already) but I'd be worried about security for my customers using this method.
Any advice?
Thanks! <3

They're modeled after the Minnesota Driver's license, although unfortunately you do not get the awkward embossed loons we have which is pretty cool! Go support him and get yourself a fancy license!
Thanks for looking, as always!
[Back!] Jet Lag, New Watchers, and Art Info!

- Personal Stuff -
As of about 1 Am last night (which felt like 6 in the morning thanks to the jet lag) I am officially home from my trip. Having been to Europe before, this was... A learning experience among other things. I had a blast a times but I'm the only one who can speak any German between Dash and I, and he has never been abroad before so there were a lot of times where I felt like I was babysitting a bit (through no fault of his own). All in all it made for a very difficult 9 days. My main reason for going to the Austria/Bavaria area was that my host family lives near Munich and while I did get to meet with them due to some scheduling mishaps our visit only lasted for about 4 hours, and was in a very noisy/outdoor location where we couldn't talk much. The trip was kind of a bust in that respect.
Souvenirs, clothing, electronics, money... All can be replaced but the experiences we have can never be bought or regained.
And speaking of things that can never be regained... I won't elaborate here but I'm in the market for a new camera. I think I know which model/brand I want (looking for a reaaaaaaally nice point and shoot) but if there are any camera experts out there/anyone willing to help me research, send me a note with your skype info. I'd love a second opinion or some help looking for a good deal.
- Business Stuff -
Personal stuff aside, I've gained about 20 watchers while this account was inactive! Welcome guys, and thank you for sticking around. I'm not sure how most of you got here, but I'm glad you did xD
I'll hopefully be starting art up again as early as today but because of the jet lag, I'm having difficulties focusing and I'm dealing with a little vertigo so I might work on personal stuff for a short while (1-2 days) so I can get back into the swing of things. I'll start up on commissions again once I'm feeling physically capable of producing the best product I can. As far as I'm aware my queue is up to date, this includes collab work and YCH's for the moment as well. If you have a pending commission with me and it's not currently on my queue, please nag me about it! Even if you know I'm working on it, I'd appreciate a reminder to put it on my list (Even if it is just to check it off again in the next few days). I really want to make sure I didn't forget anything or anyone in all the craziness leading up to our trip.
Not much else to say here besides I'm happy to be back! I'll be nice to start producing art for you guys again.
Thanks,
INK
Back in the Saddle (for a Day and a Half)!
Posted 10 years agoSpent a few days at home so I could see my parents before Dash and I go abroad. Went through a lovely whirlwind of last minute purchases (and problems with banks, don't even get me started) but finally I am back home and able to do some work!
I briefly put up some marker commissions but then realized quickly after how poor of a setup I have at my parents house for art now: I took the desk we purchased for my bedroom at home to my apartment with me, so there is no place that I can sit and work in their house that is both a). comfortable, and b). Well lit. So I closed them up pretty quickly. I'll be completing the two slots that were filled here at my apartment where the work environment is much better.
Today and part of tomorrow will be devoted to clearing up YCH work and the extraneous bits of commission work I still have sitting on my plate. Please note that if you have purchased/will purchase an open egg from me in the future, these designs will not be on my priority list right now, simply because I cannot control when they are claimed. These might be the only thing, if anything, that hangs over until when I return from my trip. If you are waiting on something else, I expect to have it done by tomorrow evening. Feel free to inquire about anything you are waiting on!
I will be leaving for Austria/Southern Germany on Saturday, August 22nd. My account will be on Hiatus from this date until the 31st, when I return.
During this time I will not have consistent internet connection and will likely not be able to respond to any messages. I will try my best to get back to you when I return home, but will probably be a little jet-laggy! At best I would expect to be back and consistently online by the 1st.
Thanks for reading!

Marker Wing-It Commissions [Closed]
Posted 10 years agoClosed, sorry! If you really want one of these I can certainly do one when I return on the 31st!
Some things to know:
• This style is done with microns/art markers on a patterned scrapbook paper base. You are purchasing a traditionally lined image with a single color wash over it, and some white highlights drawn in. I have patterns ranging from sand to ornate floral to polka dots. I'll pick whatever I feel fits your character best!
• There will be a base price but these are technically PWYW--meaning the base price will get you the bare minimum (above) and any amount you want to add to it will get you extra details (important markings, extra colors added, etc.).
• You may not request a pose. These are wing-its. That means you provide me with a character, and I do the rest!
• Unfortunately my paper is quite small and I do not have room to draw two characters on it comfortably so these will have to be solo pieces. Sorry!
• These must be safe for work and tame. Again, I am at home and around my parents.
Your options are as follows:
- Heashot $8 base price (example)
- :link: (unpaid)
-Fullbody $16 base price (example)
- OssuaryVonCorpse (unpaid)

THIS YEAR I AM DOING IT. I'm always too busy, but this year I'm gonna commit.
October is my birthday month, and since I've been closed for commissions for so long I'm a bit short on cash as well.
I'll be opening PWYW lineart commissions during the month of October.
These will be exclusively traditional and in permanent mediums (pen, marker, micron, etc). Not all of the example references reflect this.
Level of detail, medium and complexity will scale with cost. You will get at least the detail you pay for if not more.
For those unfamiliar with my traditional work, some examples: one two three
So I don't overwork myself, there are 3 tiers you can apply to any day of your choice.
Tier 1: Starts at $20 // x x
No Slot Limit
Cleanly inked bust or halfbody pen sketch. Color spotting available for the upper range of prices.More experimental and loose than the other two tiers. Sort of a grab bag option.
Tier 2: Starts at $40 // x x
Limit: 7 Slots
Cleanly inked thigh up or fullbody sketch (thigh up will have more detailed lines).Color spotting and shading available for the upper range of prices.
Tier 3: Starts at $90 // x x
Limit: 3 Slots
Cleanly lined, colored thigh up sketch. Full bleed or implied background elements available for upper range of prices.Paper size/detail increases with price.

Reminder To Commissioners
Posted 10 years agoI've had a really unusual couple of days as far as keeping in contact with commissioners goes, so I really need to get something off my chest finally.
If you are my commisssioner, it is my top priority to get your work done and finished to you in a reasonable time frame. This is currently my only job and I take that very seriously. When I post a journal regarding my plans for commissions, timeframe for working/finishing them etc. I really do not appreciate personal messages asking about when your piece will be finished. It's posted publicly (here, next to my queue) so it's all in one place and easy to see. So just a reminder that if you want an update on your commission or how close I may be to working on it, check my journals and my queue before you note me. This includes things like icons and sketches, where the queue is on a submission or specific journal or there is a first come first served offer and a list of comments. If you can't find the information you need there, always feel free to send me a note! I really want you to know what's going on and keep you updated but I end up having to repeat myself a lot for people who don't bother to check.
That being said, regardless of how well I know you (or don't!) we have a professional relationship when you commission me. That's why I have prices and a terms of service. So please keep in mind that relationship goes both ways. I expect you to be professional with me as well.
Lastly, and this ties into the professional relationship thing, please don't scream at me =___= I really should not have to say this at all. I'm generally an intuitive individual but I make mistakes, as does anyone, so if I forget something or do anything else that puts you off, let's talk about it in a calm manner please. I really do not appreciate messages with all caps in them, or tons of exclamation marks.
I guess the TL;DR is that if you read this just please keep in mind that I am a human being too, with feelings and thoughts. If you are my commisssioner you are in them! I promise. I don't take this sort of thing lightly. So please just be civil with me ; ;
Thanks,
Ink

Commissions Resuming; Closing!
Posted 10 years agoHey All!
Now that I got that comic cover out of my system, I'll be focusing on owed art for the next few weeks. I have the first 3-5 pages planned out already and while I am excited to start work on them, I'll be going on vacation in a couple of weeks and my top priority now is clearing out the art that I owe so none of you have to wait for it (and so I can really relax while I'm away).
If you have a current spot on my queue, expect to see your work finished by the 21st of this month. If you're currently looking for a spot on my queue, you'll have to wait until I return early September.

School starts again for me September 9th. Last year my classes proved to be too stressful and a few things caved under the pressure, first and foremost being my work here came to a screeching halt. This year I would like to do everything I can to prevent this from happening, so it's extremely important to me that I get everything under control before school starts this time around.
I'm going to try my best to stick around and do commission work during the school year, but please realize that I may be too busy to take on any extra work during the school session. We'll see how it goes, but I might only have time for comic work during this period.
Thanks for reading!

Hey guys! I just recently found out today that Trusted-Artists has moved to a new page (their old one was inactive and cannot be accessed or something) so here's a reminder to go recommend some of your favorite commissioning artists to be on the list. I have recommended a couple already.
Keep in mind artists that previously had recommendations need to be added again to this new page, if I am correct. So even users like Ajna that were there before need to be re-added.
Trusted Artists helped me a lot, I was able to rebound from the commission I almost got scammed out of and find a different more trustworthy artist to commission instead, so I feel like I can help pay it forward by making this journal and alerting you all of the new page~

On a very exciting tangential note I have finished the cover as well as finished organizing a patreon page for my new comic, Sink or Swim! I'll be launching it tomorrow as soon as I get up <3
